Summertime......

Welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and the theme is Summertime, create a card featuring something you would see or experience in the summer. So many options and I had so many ideas and that is where I usually get behind as I can't make up my mind which I want to make. Here is what I decided to make.

I had 2 Happy Hopper stamps picked and this is the one I chose to use for my card. The patterned paper is called Sea Sparkle from Marianne designs and perfect for  a beach scene.  The sketch I used is a Sheetload from November 2024, it's one of my favourites, I added a few sparkly mini sequins because everything is better with bling, and a "fun" diecut.

Finished the inside with a Printworks wood block sentiment and a scrap of patterned paper.

I am entering this in:

AAA Colorful ~~ Colorboard #29

I hope you can find time to create a "Summertime" project and add it to our gallery you have until June 29 at 11.59 to enter,
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week.

Congratulations

Hello and welcome to my blog today, for my fellow Canadian friends I hope you had fabulous Victoria Day weekend, finally we have warm weather, there sure wasn't any spring weather here in SWO.  I guess you checked in to see what the new challenge is at Shopping Our Stash and as by the title I'm sure you have guessed we want to see projects that congratulate someone, perhaps Wedding, Anniversary, Graduation or anything else you can congratulate someone for.  Well last challenge I already congratulated Riggs (a charcoal lab) for being adopted to a great family so decided to go with a new baby theme.

90 % of baby cards I make are with a House Mouse Design image, this one is a Happy Hopper and so cute. Since I made a 51/2 inch square card I finally used my Elizabeth Craft Designs scalloped square dies and a very ancient dots embossing folder, it's one of the few I have that fit a 5 inch square layer. The sentiment is from another older set, I stamped it fussy cut around it and flat attached it.

Closer look at the happy hopper which is popped up on the card.

Finished the inside with a 2005 woodblock sentiment from Stampendous.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the Main Blog and see what the rest of the design team has made, who will you congratulate, a grad, a bride and groom or new parents so many choices. We would love to see your creations on our gallery.

Time for Presents!!

Almost time for Christmas but I still have a birthday left for the year (not mine) so I decided to take time out from making my "new year" cards or "winter" cards for some I still need to send and make a birthday card with present on it for Challenge #486 at Shopping Our Stash is Time for Presents.

I decided to use one of my "dual" images, it can be used for many occasions and I have made it for both birthday and Christmas. This is a Stampedous image of Happy Hoppers I have a few of the bunnies and also the Gruffies (bears) The image was stamped in a pile of "waiting to be coloured" images. The image and layers were cut with Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched and scalloped die sets.  Hero Arts happy birthday was cut with the original spellbinders circle dies.

Finished the inside with a Stampendous "Fran's" Sentiment, that no matter how I work with it I never get it perfectly straight.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the Main Blog and check out the rest of the Design Team's projects, then dig in your stash and make a "present" card.

She Sells Sea Shells......

Hello family, friends and followers, it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and as you can tell by the title it's anything to do with sea, ocean, beach and shells...so many choices.  Because I'm at the cottage for the long weekend (we are celebrating the Civic holiday August 1st.) I had decided to make a beach scene. Sometimes I get focused on what stamps I want to use, I forget all the other components of making a card, by now I should have had 75% of my dies and 10% of my cardstock so there was a lot of quick thinking and a short trip to the craft store in Delhi Ontario. Lots of 8 1/2 by 11 in every colour of the rainbow and very reasonably priced. Enough complaining and on to see what I did have to make my card.

The stamp I used is from House Mouse Designs and is a Happy Hopper, knowing I was making a beach scene I dug way in my stash for Eyelet outlet sea shell brads, I got them when I was on the design team way back in  1917. I also had the smoshed background with me and the piece of crumb cake which I took some scrunched up plastic wrap and using gathered twigs and walnut stain distress oxide inks and hopefully it reminds you of sand.  Lucky for me the Happy Birthday die cut was in a baggie of extras I had with me. After colouring and fussy cutting the image and an extra umbrella, I flat attached the image and added 4 extra triangle layers to pop the umbrella up. (had no pop dots with me)

Close up of the sea shell brads.

closer look at the happy hopper and the popped up umbrella.

I am adding this to:

Congratulations, it's a Girl

Hello friends, family and followers and welcome to the new challenge at Shopping Our Stash. The theme for this fortnight is "You Deserve a Hand" use a hand or make a congratulatory card, well as you see by the title I made a Congratulatory card for a friend that just became a Grandma to a sweet little girl.

Wow did I dig deep into my stash, the patterned paper is from a $$+ store probably 3 or 4 years old, I was surprised I found it quickly and there was still one piece left. Of course I had to use a Happy Hopper baby and I used some wink of stella on the bottle. The crocheted oval was made by a design team member Jessi that passed 4 years ago, I still have a stash as I've been hoarding them.

Finished the inside of the 5 1/2 inch square card with leftover scraps and a sentiment from Michaels $1.50 bin.

I am entering this in:
House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge ~~ Anything Goes./optional animal/bird friends

Thanks for visiting today and have a wonderful week.

Twas' the Night Before Christmas.....

Not a Creature was Stirring....that's the challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock Christmas Challenge.  I needed to feature a creature on my card so I picked 3.

I must admit I picked this image to add to U is for Under, I was so excited I finally managed one of the Alpha prompts and the challenge has ended, all is not lost the Jingle Belles had a challenge too that it worked for. I used a Happy Hopper, and the spellbinders Label 8 and fancy label 8 to cut them image and frame looking through my hoards of cardstock not one piece of red cardstock, I can see a trip to the craft store in the near future or I won't be making any red based cards. Now the fancy fram was cut from a metallic red cardstock from Michaels, it's shiny but not reflective. The mistletoe was coloured with spica glitter pens.

Inside was finished with a scrap of the red metalic paper and a sentiment from Impression Obssession.

4 challenges I'm adding this to:
o
Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Not a Creature was Stirring

Rudolph Days ~~ Octdober

Christmas Kickstart ~~ Make on for a Loved one.

House Mouse and Friends ~~ Anything goes.(option metallic, used a metallic frame)

Thanks for stopping by today and have a Happy Halloween,

Welcome to the February Edition of Happy Little Stampers ATC Challenge.

Where did January go? I can't believe we are in February already but I am so happy (almost giddy) to be posting my second set of ATCs for the Happy Little Stampers, I made Artist Trading Coins this time, they are 2 1/2 inch circles and so much fun, I hope you will give them a try and add them to the Challenge.  The theme for the February ATC challenge is Fruity.

I chose one of my favourite stamp companies for my image, House Mouse Designs, I am so in love with these critters. I chose a Happy Hopper for my "fruity" design.

Artist trading cards and coins use up a lot of the scraps that you have  left over from other challenges although I didn't seem to have any red or black scraps in my hanging file folders

Close up of the Happy Hopper spitting out the watermelon seeds. The seed is a black oval rhinestone (I was surprised I still had a few) bought years ago at the Dollar store. I coloured them up with alcohol markers.

Thanks for visiting today and check out the challenges at Happy Little Stampers

It's time for a New Challenge at House Mouse and friends!!

Wow I can't believe another two weeks have gone by and it's my third challenge as guest designer at the House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge Blog. We are having some off and on again nice weather which means one day I'm wearing sandals next I'm wearing fleece . Challenge #265 at HMFMC is always Anything Goes with the option for this challenge is "Be Square" I'm getting into the square cards lately and they are fun. All you need to do to enter is make a card with a House Mouse, a Happy Hopper or a Gruffie. I chose to go with the option of a Square card and I used a Happy Hopper.

The stamp I used is Chocolate Decandence and the happy hopper is "Hop-it"
What goes better with Chocolate than pink, I love them together. lots of layers using Spellbinders square dies and the pink frame is fleur dis lis square die.

Look at the happy look on his chocolate covered face.

Finished the inside with a Stampworks sentiment and some leftover pink and patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge blog and see what fabulous inspiration the design team have made.

Strut Your Birthday Stuff!!!

Wow two House Mouse & Friends challenges in a row, I just had to take Diva Bunny for a test drive on the Tuesday Morning Sketch #443, although I flipped the sketch just because I wanted to, I also strayed from my usual colours.

What a great sketch to use up some of those bits of left-over patterned paper.  Of course I use Diva Bunny from House Mouse Designs,  The sentiment was computer generated.

Close up of the adorable little bunny.

Finished the inside with left-over patterned paper and a birthday sentiment on a topnote die cut. I am so short on birthday cards, they seem to be heading out in the mail as soon as I make them. Although my next batch of birthdays are for men/boys and then there is Easter and I haven't even started them.

Challenges I am entering this in:
House Mouse and Friends Morning Challenge ~~ #261 Anything goes option Bunnies

Shopping Our Stash # 308 ~~ Think Pink!!!

Wow my second favourite colour!! PINK. Shopping our Stash challenge 308 is Think Pink. June 23rd is national Pink day, use the colour pink predominately!! Every time I use pink I think of Leslie and how she would roll her eyes and say "gah" pink.  I seem to be on a House Mouse roll along with 5 1/4 inch square cards. This challenge came  at the perfect time as I have been asked to make two it's a girl and one it's a boy cards. Here are my cards for the challenge, yes I made two.

The first card is using a Happy Hopper from House Mouse designs,
the spellbinder ovals I haven't used in a while and the stamp is several years old along with the embossing folder (one of my first) and the it's a girl/boy die set.

Now this stamp is much older than the first one as is the embossing folder. The newest item on this card is the square dies and they are 6 months old as is the skinny pink glitter washi tape from the Eyelet Outlet Store.

The sentiment on one of the cards is computer generated and from Verses4cards.

I would like to enter this in:
House-mouse and friends Monday challenge using the anything goes option (I missed the Pink one)

Thanks for stopping by today and get out those pink crafty items and enter the challenge, you know you love pink!!! Don't forget to head over to the main blog and see what the rest of the design team have made in Pink.

Shopping Our Stash #271 ~~ Apple for Teacher

It's fall and there is a bounty of vegetables and fruit out at the vegetable stands along the roads so this is the perfect time for the challenge at Shopping Our Stash, Apple for Teacher ~~ use fruits/veggies on your project or make a Teacher appreciation card. I knew I had the perfect image to use for the challenge and yes, it's a Happy Hopper. Let's have a peek at it.......

Perfect image for the challenge and I have had it a while along with the patterned paper. I used Elizabeth Crafts Fitted Frames ~ Curly Ovals

Since the oval die cuts 4 different shapes and sizes I used one on the inside along with a favourite sentiment.

I would like to enter this in:

I'm Dreaming of Something Warm ~~ Challenge # 237 at Shopping Our Stash

Can you believe it? It's the second of February already...Wow. It's also Ground Hog Day but I don't know yet whether any of the ground hogs have seen there shadow until later this morning. I'll have to check later to see if we have an early spring or the dreaded 6 more weeks of Winter.

Shopping Our Stash has a fabulous challenge ~~ I'm Dreaming of Something Warm, the interpretation is up to you. You could create a project with a cuppa tea, mug of coffee, hot chocolate, a warm beach, anything that is warm and cozy.  Now when I get really chilled I head for the bathroom and get in a really warm bubble bath and just soak it all up, sometimes I take a good book with me to read and try not to doze off and have a soggy novel. Here is what I made for the challenge.

The colours I used are blue and kraft, I added the paw prints on the scrap of kraft and finished it with a cute ribbon  The background is embossed with the bubbles embossing folder.

Close up of the super cute bunny from House Mouse Designs, I added three pearls for the bubbles.

Finished inside of the card with one of my favourite Birthday stamps.

I would like to enter this in
Just Us Girls  Wild card week #328 it's tic tac toe I used the left row Ribbon, Pearls, 3 layers.

I love the spellbinder’s Flora Oval for girlie cards and the regular ovals work well with it. I cut and embossed the scalloped oval and used the outside scrap on the inside of the card.
