Poinsettia Perfection

The current challenge at the Jingle Belles is Poinsettia Perfection and you just don't need to stick with the obvious you can use any Christmas bloom, greenery, mistletoe holly even evergreen boughs but of course I stuck with the obvious, mainly because I had a gold embossed image with me at the cottage, of course with the embossing I couldn't use my copics but I smooshed distress oxide inks ( one at a time) on an acrylic block and watercoloured  with a brush. I'm really quite pleased with the outcome.

I layered the image on gold paper and popped it up on a dry embossed red panel, I don't often make a wide border but this image deserved to be front and center. (I love my old PSX stamps) I did add a gold layer under the red embossed one before attaching it to a top  fold base.

Always a good plan to finish the inside at the same time or you really get a surprise when sending your holiday cards. I added a scrap of gold which I embossed with the same folder as I used on the front. My favourite vertical Hero Arts sentient.

It's a Banner Holiday!!!

It's been a banner challenge for almost 2 weeks and with one hour to spare I managed a card for the Jingle Belles Challenge. So due the time constraints and my left hand not touching the keyboard properly causing so many typos and  I have no time for that nonsense.

The poinsettias were made with a Boss Cut die set, one is flat attached the other 2 are popped up. The ef I used is from Sizzix and is a larger 4 1/4 X 6 so I just embossed part of it and covered the end with the flowers.

Closer look, the tiny beads are on a sheet I cut a a strip of 4 and coloured them with an alcohol marker,

with 45 minutes to spare

Christmas Flowers

Hello and welcome back to another fantastic challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas, the theme is always anything Christmas but if you are so inclined you can put a flower or flowers on your project.

I really tried to find another Christmas flower for the challenge, I had already made a poinsettia card but even google kept taking me to pictures of poinsettias. Although I had a hydrangea stamp I just wasn't sure if it would be accepted (even though it was on the list with Amaryllis, Christmas cactus and an Orchid. Sooooo Poinsettia it is.

I love taking pictures on the break wall of the beach although by the time I got my card done the  sky was overcast. This week working on my projects has become a comedy of errors, my planning skills seem to have disappeared over the winter and forgot inside sentiments so every card I made I have to remember to finish the inside I brought image stamps and birthday die cuts but tucked into a project case was a couple of dies one being PEACE and the other SNOW, I was in luck. The image I chose is from House Mouse Designs, my favourite guys, I worked with a couple of red markers on a practice stamped image, I didn't like the red at all, I ended up using E93, RV42 and R05 and I was happy.

Time for a NEW challenge at Happy Little Stamper's Christmas.

Hello and welcome to thee Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge for July, I'm amazed at how fast the 4th of the month rolls around. I've made my first trip to stay at the cottage for the Canada Day long weekend, I do a lot of my crafting while I'm here and I keep doubles of a lot of items,  Although my card was made at home I decided to save picture taking until I could use the lake as the back drop. So let's get on to the challenge.

As always the challenge is Anything Goes which means if it's Christmas we want to see it but there is an optional twist: GOLD.

I haven't done a lot of heat embossing in eons so this was an adventure for me, I used a PSX (long retired company) Poinsettia stamp, it is so elegant just heat embossed in gold on vanilla, and layered on a Elizabeth Craft designs scalloped rectangle die cut.

Close up of the gold embossing, not as smooth as would like but my powders might be a tad old.

Finished the inside with a gold embossed sentiment and an off-cut from the scalloped frame.

Thanks for stopping by today and Gold or not we would like to see your Christmas card in the gallery.

The 25 days of Christmas Tags 2020 ~~ Day 3

I haven't missed day 2 and yes I'm still trying to catch up but Day 2 is on the craft table waiting to be put together. I have checked Day 4 but haven't made a decision on a tag to use for my inspiration. On to Day 3's inspiration Ardyth's beautiful poinsettia on a white tag just drew me in. For Day 3 the sponsor is Altenew.

Nothing more frustrating that trying to photograph shiny paper  Since the two pieces of red and green metallic posterboard were on the table with my cutter I decided to make use of them and cut the petals and leave from them with a Boss Cut poinsettia die. The tag is made with a Gina Marie snowflake die cut glued to another piece of white to replicate Ardyth's  tag.

Here is Ardyth's tag I used for my inspiration

Raiding the Refrigerator ~~ for Leftovers

I'm back with a second Christmas leftover card for the Jingle Belles Rock!! First I have a bit of a question for you, if you want just mention it in the comments.

Here are some leftovers I gathered together, how many cards do you think you could make using these  bits and bobs?
This is the first one I made with poinsettias

I used three sets of large and 3 small poinsettia leaves but only had two gold dots, just made more with scraps The sentiment was stamped on an off-cut oval. A bit of gold cord (a treat to get in loops too) The embossed background needed a few more gold dots.

Now this poinsettia is a leftover but is like the front ones only a warm stardream white. I even dug out my embossing tools WOW. The sentiment is from a set of all occasion verses from Stampin'u[/

The 25 Day of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 11

I had parts of this tag and Day 10 already cut but because I had been crafting most of the  day Toto (my cat) needed to have quality time with me, so of course I put the "parts" aside to work on in the morning. (while she napped) It's a lot of work to craft with a 2 year old "kitten" around.  The tags are such an attraction with their ribbon tails.  Again I chose Lindsey's tag for my inspiration, while sorting some stamped/printed images I found a Poinsettia swag, perfect for the tag. Most days I pick at least two tags I'm inspired by that way if one plan goes south I have a back up.

I coloured the poinsettias with alcohol markers and fussy cut, stamped the Merry in Memento Red  and the Christmas is stamped in white which you can't see in the picture and it is from the same set as the merry.

Here is Lindsey's Tag.

Such a pretty tag.

I'm adding this to:

One more catch up tag to be blogged than I'm on track to keep up.
