Juggling Act

I'm back again with another Holiday card because it's Rudolph Days and it's my first one this year, of course there are a couple other challenges that I worked into the card. My post might be short today it is so humid at the lake my fingers are sticking to the keys, there is no A/C here.

Since Christmas Kickstart's prompt was Merry go Round, there are oodles of circles on this Circle Easel card. Next in line was the Jingle Belles Tic Tac Toe board and woohoo I did 2 lines with one card.
I used a House Mouse designs image nothing fancy in the design I only have circle dies with me.

As you see the easel folds flat for mailing in a 5 1/2 inch square envelope although I have no picture the sentiment is on the back of the card.

I'm entering this in:
Rudolph Days ~~ Anything Christmas

Christmas Kickstart ~~ Merry-go-round

top horizontal row and right vertical row

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge ~~ Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope where you are is a lot cooler and less humid than here.

It's Rudolph Days for August!!!

I have been spending some time at the cottage and quite often, okay very often have forgotten supplies, usually sentiments but it's a nice change of scenery and October will come too soon.  Since I brought my new 3D embossing folder and a Christmas die I needed to take the folder for a test drive. (need a shim), I often grab a bunch of scraps from the desk  to add to the collection I have here. So here is the finished very simple card.

As you can see the folder needs a shim but it was my first attempt embossing a 3D folder in the Cuttlebug. I added 3 silver glitter starform stickers for some extra shine

Finished the inside with a favourite sentiment and some scraps.

I can't believe I'm early for entering:

Rudolph Days ~~ August

Thanks for stopping by today and if you want to get a headstart on Holiday cards Rudolph Days from the 25th to the end of the month, so get crafting.

Rudolph Days for June

I have fought for 3 hours to get my photo program on the laptop to accept the sdhc card to no avail so to get this in for June it's a quick post and who knows what the photo will look like as I've never used my tablet for photos or my blog.

Still using an image I had previously coloured but fussy cut it out, I made a mini slimline card. This was a quick and easy one even though when I packed for my first weekend at the cottage I forgot my tonic  cutter but wonder of wonders I managed straight cuts with the old fiskers cutter.

I am adding this to

unfortunately I was 8 minutes late and the link was closed
I was also planning Christmas Kickstart challenge too but it was also closed, I think today was a total bust.

Happy Canada Day!!

Thanks for looking today.

Midnight Flight......

Here I am working on my Holiday cards and of course adding it to some favourite Christmas challenges.  I am continuing to make Mini Slimline cards for slipping money in or if you still use them a cheque, they are perfect, I usually need as least 3 myself.  Since I had a third idea for the Jingle Belles challenge last month I had my card 1/3 made but the biggest part was having the idea so when the Jingle belles challenge came up featuring the "big guy" I was all set.

The background is made with 3 shades of distress oxide blue inks, the moon was punch from a small piece from my scrap box. The clous are flat attached but the sleigh and reindeer are elevated. Believe was cut three times and glued together for height. A few twinkling rhinestones for stars were added. I layered the image on black and since I didn't have any blue 100 pound cardstock (I like it for bases) I blended blue distress oxide in to the edges of a white base.

Close up showing the elevation of the sleigh and reindeer.

Finished the inside with a favourite sentiment and some black cardstock. Next time I will make the inky background larger so I have a couple of scraps to put on the inside.

Here are the three challenges I'm entering:

Jingle Belles Challenge  ~~ Man with the Bag

Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~~ #85 Santa and his Sidekicks

ABC Christmas Challenge ~~ I is for Inky

Thanks for visiting today and if you need to get your Holiday cards started all three of these challenges are great.

What Was On My Desk!!

Here we go....there are always many many things on my desk and I have a corner computer desk with shelves, no I won't show you it but the only clear space is the small spot for my helper (see the sidebar) but I will show what I started with.

leftover paper, leftover cardstock and a layered snowflake leftover from December crafting. Now here is what I made with my bits.

The snowflake was perfect for the new rage of Fractured cards, they are fun and addicting and sure use up a lot of scraps. I popped up the snowflake and added a rhinestone to the center.

Here is the finished inside with a favourite sentiment and a couple of scraps of paper. I would have had my card finished a couple of days ago but I couldn't seem to locate the sentiment and why was it in the box of Birthday wood stamps? Then I was a bit late in getting my son's birthday card done. There does come a time when you run out of themes for family birthday cards.

Now since I planned this card for Rudolph days and I used so many "snippits" I'm adding this to:

I would like to wish you Happy Easter and thanks for spending some time here today.

Out on a Limb!!!

My goodness I'm on a roll this week 3 posts in 2 days  but it's nice to be making fun cards for challenges and to build my Holiday stash. I actually had the patterned paper on my desk for the Jingle Belles challenge "text me" so I just carried on with it even though the challenge ended at 6 p.m. I decided that I hadn't played along with Christmas Kickstart or Rudolph Days this month and if I don't reach of quota of 5 a month then it will be a November marathon.

To start my card I had an already stamped Fluffles image in a pile so coloured it up, die cut with a pair of spellbinders circle dies. Patterned paper is Peppermint from Crate Paper. Sketch is from Sheetload of Cards February 2022.

Finished the inside with a couple of scraps of paper and a Stampabilities (no longer in business) steamp.

I am entering this in:

Rudolph Days ~~ February

ABC Christmas Challenge ~~ C is for Cats

Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been crafting.

It's Rudolph Days!!!

I am unusually early with a card for Rudolph Days but there is a reason......I decided to try a new technique with a new product, well it really wasn't going well when I finished  "playing" I was covered in mica spray all three colours that I have and I really was disappointed in the purple as it didn't have a lot of shine, and I shook it well too. Now I never trow my fails out (unless they are really bad) and when I saw a post what do you have on your craft table the "fail" was there including the silver die cut I had planned on using and when I looked at it the green "fail" didn't look too bad so I finished it and I like how it came together. I am sure I just need practice using sprays. So there is my story about why I'm early to Rudolph Days.

I used the more textured side of the  paper, it does shine nicely too but sparkle never shows well in photos. The Snowflake die is the largest of three from Elizabeth Craft Designs and was flat attached.  Debating on adding some bling to the center of the snowflake.

Finished the inside with the smallest snowflake in the Elizabeth Craft Designs snowflake set and a vertical Hero Arts sentiment.

I'm adding this to:

Rudolph Days ~~ Novembeer

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are getting your Holiday cards done almost panic time.

Rudolph Days October Challenge.

Here I am sneaking in the last day of October (Happy Halloween} Rudolph days is the only challenge I have manage to keep up each month during the summer "break" Nice to be back. So here is what I came p with for this month.

Yes you are seeing double? yes check it out HERE, I used the same paper and #SUYSOct2023 sketch for my last card, it works perfectly with the Stampendous Mini acrylic stamps that because they are so adorable I have quite the collection.  Although the sheetload will make 8 cards there are instructions for making a single card. I found the fair sized scrap of this double sided paper in my stash and since both images I used had candy canes it worked perfectly.

The finished inside of the card  with scraps left over from the front.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned I love this sketch and have lots more cute mini steamps to use. and of course mega scraps too.

Rudolph Days ~~ September

How can it be the last day of September, it has been a long summer for me as you might remember I have been dealing with a broken ankle since July 13th, hopefully October 6th will see the end of the ordeal, It is really hard to make cards, just standing to pick out stamps/images, paper and cardstock was an ordeal then it was the up and down of cutting and die cutting, you can put in a lot of steps just making a card. So what I did again this month is dig into my coloured images, and my scrap box and collect what I needed to make the card the eaiest way I knew how.

The reindeer duo and moose digital image is from Bugaboo Stamps, sadly no longer operating. The JOY die cut was from an extras box, you know you cut one and then decide it's not the right colour and cute another or just change you mind on the sentiment altogether, yep do it all the time.

Close  up of the cute image but don't look too close at the colouring I haven't been able to colour under the ott light.

I'm adding this to

Rudolph Days ~~ September

Thanks for visiting today and soon I will be back with regular posting.

Rudolph Days ~~ August

Last Rudolph days I posted a card for July explaining I had been sidelined from creating cards as I broke my ankle I had a stash of off cuts that I made my card with well fast forward to August the word from the Dr was it is healing nicely but it's 4 to 6 weeks more in the air boot, which I am managing to get it off and back on  for TV watching and bedtime, all other times it is on. So this month again I found a couple of digital images I had printed off and I managed to colour them (don't look too close)  and then looked for scraps to finish the front, the process took a couple of days. Although the air boot is lighter than a plaster cast it's still heavy and in the way. Well with all that being said here is my simple offering for the August Rudolph days.

The digi is from Bugaboo Stamps (sadly they are closed)  I decided to make the birds into Winter Robin, I added foam tape to elevate the image and added a Merry Christmas Sticker sentiment.

Close up of the image, they are so adorable

I am adding tis to:

Rudolph Days ~~ August

Thanks for stopping by to see my one an only card I have crafted in August.

Rudolph Days ~~~ July

Hello my crafty friends it's time for the July edition of Rudolph Days. I haven't been crafting in over two weeks and it will be a bit longer. I had my knee fail me and I collapsed on the floor and broke my ankle it has been a bit of a trial as I did not want to stay so in order to come home I was fitted for an air boot and crutches and of course not to put a lot of weight on the broken ankle until the Dr. calls. I immediately knew I would not be able to take care of my Design Team duties, so they are shelved until I can put weight on my leg but on July 25th I realized I can't miss Rudolph days so knowing I had lots of off cuts, some coloured images etc. I could make one but it took me 2 days to glue it together.

My day in a recliner that I am in bed when it's time to turn out the lights.

And now my card.

The super cute penguin image is a digital stamp from Bugaboo Stamps it was already coloured and layered on the tag die. Ribbon was on my desk. Card base from my file folder I did have to cut the striped layer  and because the die cut sentiment I had from my stash wasn't suitable I did die cut the Happy Holidays (when turning the handle of the big shot I hit something and a magnet with cog dies one it and a few other things have hit the floor, one more thing my daughter is going to have to pick up for me)

Close up of the Bugaboo image sadly they are no longer in business. They were Canadian and sponsored many challenges.

Thanks for stopping by today and there is still time to get your card in for Rudolph Days the July challenge  ends on July 31st

It's a Rudolph Days Card!!

Almost the end of June and I was scrambling to get my card done for the June Rudolph Days, I planned on an longer trip to the cottage this time and as always I never have all the equipment I need, not sure why I didn't think I needed sentiments but didn't have any, I also know when colouring small things I like my spica glitter pens, alas they are home so with some improvising I made a card.

I used a favourite company stamp, House Mouse Designs, it is a newer one for me and first time inking it up. Everything is flat attached and is a very mailable card.

As you see I did have one sentiment I could use for the inside of the card,

I'm adding this to:

NBUS ~~ Challenge #51

Thanks for visiting today and have an awesome weekend.

Holiday Leftovers

Not the usual Holiday leftovers but the scraps, images, extra die-cuts and left over patterned paper kind.

I gathered my leftovers from a couple of spots I wonder how many cards I can make with that pile?

Although in the pile of leftovers the penguin was already coloured and must have been hiding.

Finished the inside with  cardstock scrap and a favourite sentiment.

I am adding this to:

Jingle Belles Rock Challenge ~~ Holiday Leftovers

Rudolph Days ~~ April (slipping in on the last day AGAIN)

Thanks for visiting and stay tunes there are a lot more "leftovers" to use.

Getting Sketch-y!!

Hello crafty peeps and welcome to my post for the New challenge at Shopping Our Stash!! it's a sketch.

Here is the sketch, so shop your stash and create something following (as close as you can) the sketch above, you can flip it and make a horizontal card, even tip it upside down, all is good as long as we can see the sketch.  I followed the sketch to a "T". I use sketches all the time but when faced with one for a challenge I seem to get the "deer in the headlights look" and struggle but here iete is.

For my image I used a mini Stampendous stamp I have a "boatload" of them, all occasion and Christmas and since I'm falling behind on my monthly plan to make at least 6 holiday cards a month I just thought I would try to get caught up. The stamp had never seen ink and I am sure it is 4 years old, The embossing folder is older too and one of my favourites, it's Sizzix from Stampin'up called Softly falling. The ribbon is sparkly and quite stiff, I taped it down with soo-wang tape and I have no idea how old it is, my guess is at least 10 years The penguin was coloured and fussy cut and flat attached to the watercoloured background I had in my scrap box and te snow was also an already cut scrap in the same box. I like to see if I have any larger scraps  before I cut a full sheet.

Close up of the super adorable penguin.

Finished the inside with a scrap of red and a Stampendous sentiment. (one of my first sentients I bought when I started stamping)

I Can See Clearly Now....

My card for today started out with an idea to use a die cut bauble for Christmas Kickstart, then I remembered it's the last day of the month for Rudolph days, so thought a double challenge well thinking about my design I grabbed some left over acetate ( left over from making ethe great-grands Valentines) to make a clear card, and that is the challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock so now added another challenge to a card, rarely do I combine challenges with one card but it just sort of worked out that way. ABC Christmas challenge is also in the mix...D is for Diecuts. I just can't believe it took me all day to put it together, well 75% of the time is always looking for that one die or stamp that is in the "safe" place.

I die cut this three piece die set at least 1 year ago but I'm thinking 2 or more I made tags and cards as I cut it three times, the snowflake section I used last year. The acetate was cut 4 1/4 X 6 scored at 5.5 and folded and taped to the patterned cardstock from Dollarama. The circle is flat attached and the snow flake is popped up. Since I didn't locate Merry Christmas I used Tis the Season Die.

I added a bit of patterned cardstock to the  base of the acetate for stability I will add an extra piece of cardstock to the back of the card for the sentiment and to make it more stable.

Close up of the focal point I added starform glitter dots to the snowflake tips and center .

Because of timing I am adding this to 4 challenges.

Rudolph Days ~~ February 2023

Jingle Belles ~~ It Came Upon A Midnight Clear.

Christmas Kickstart ~~ #71 Baubles unfortunately it closed before I got there.

ABC Christmas Challenge ~~ D is for Die cuts

Thanks for stopping by today I am keeping up with my holiday stash one card at a time.
