It’s Tuesday, Time for a New Challenge at Clear it Out!!

At Clear it Out Tuesday it’s a Colour challenge……the colour is BLUE!!! Stash item is ribbons, fibres or twine. Head over to the Challenge Blog to get all the rules and while you are there check out what all the other members of the design team have made for your inspiration. The sponsor of the challenge is Lacy Sunshine Designs, what great images we all got to play with this week, head over and check out the designs.
I love a colour challenge that’s half the designing of a card, now couple that with a Sketch challenge and you have it made in the shade.

I chose an Eleanor and Pickles digi called Pastry chefs from Lacy Sunshine designs and the sketch is from Deconstructing Jen sketch #135. I’m not even sure what the colour of blue i used is, or the patterned paper, it was just in my stash. The part of a doily (I only have one) I got at a yard sale, I added buttons with blue and white baker’s twine. Isn’t Eleanor adorable with her huge glasses, I seem to gravitate to her when I’m surfing through the store. Most of the image was coloured with my spectrum noir markers. I’m still practicing with them but I’m totally sold on them. On with the inside….

I used one of the coordinating papers from my stash (lost the package so don’t know where is is from) although I know I bought two packages each a little different from the dollar store.
I’m entering this in the Sketch 135 challenge at Deconstructing Jen.
Thanks for stopping by today and I would like to see your project for the Colour Blue challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday

Buzz Cut

Hello again, nice to see you are checking to see what I have been up to. I’ve been very busy trying to get some Winter/Christmas cards done and in the mean time I have had a few “feel better” cards as well. It’s probably a good job I am retired. Now the Christmas luncheons and bazaars have started too. I had the weirdest thing happen last week, I coloured my image, found a pink fleur dis lis die cut on my table, decided to add a “banner” sentiment and flowers the next morning in my e-mail I got a sketch from Decontructing Jen and everything was was ready for it. Of course I had to wait until my friend received the card as I wanted it to be a surprise. (she is a faithful reader)  Now here is my “buzz cut card”
IMG_1792
As you can see by the card my friend is going through chemo for cancer and when I saw this image I knew I had to make it for her as she is scrapbooking all the cards she has received so this one will remind her of the  buzz cut she had before starting treatment. I only took a small liberty with the sketch, the sentiment is at the top instead of the bottom. I really like this sketch and know I will use it again.
I am entering this in Sketch #126 at Deconstructed Sketch Blog
Check her blog out there are AWESOME sketches.
Thanks for visiting today and come back again soon.

Mid-Week inspiration for Clear it Out Tuesday!!

There is still another week to enter your project on the Clear it Out Tuesday Challenge Blog. The theme is Make Someone’s Day and make it sparkle. Use up some of that glitter that is on the shelf or your stickles that are in the cupboard, you could even use some of the glitter cardstock that you just had to have every colour of. The sponsors are Bugaboo and The Stamping Chef, please visit their stores they are fabulous sponsors and are very generous too.
If you follow my blog you know I’m at the cottage for the week, woohoo but it does present some obstacles, dial up for one take three times longer for me to do most things and lack of crafting supplies. I had a minor meltdown when I thought I didn’t have any glitter in the “box” How could I do a card where the stash item is glitter/bling? but on checking my tote (I take it to classes) there was a large bottle of Ice Stickles in a pocket.

More House Mouse…………

I saw a sketch on one my friend’s blogs and fell in love with it. The hardest part was picking the papers. Here is the site, she has lots of great sketches to try….I have my eye on a couple more. The name of the blog is deconstructing jen. I sell Avon and each of my customers gets a hand made card with a certificate for 15% off their next order, it’s my way of showing them I appreciate their loyalty.
I had my cute little image from House Mouse coloured in a box on my desk, I like to have some images already coloured to speed up the creating time. Here is my card.
