All Things Tim

Hello and welcome to the June A Tiny Craft Challenge, the theme is All Things Time ( or similar style if you don't have any of his "stuff" in your stash)

First I gathered some Tim Holtz stencils and one odd stencil that was on the table. I used Distress Oxide inks and brushes to blend the colours over the stencils (remember I'm not very good with them) I also used the sentiments that come with the Snarky Cats, I layered them on black cardstock.

And now a closer look at each one .

The back ground is a bubbles stencil (non TH) I added a die cut balloon as the sentiment suggested birthday.

The background of this one is from a 3 piece set of TH tag stencils I've had for a long time and I used the new distress oxide ink Saltwater Taffy.

Background was made with a full size TH stencil Splatters (looked like coffee rings to me)

Another of the trio of tag stencils from TH for the background.

Bonus ATC

The background is the 3rd of the trio of tag stencils, I needed to use it as it went right along with the sentiment and of course the Snarky Cat.

I'm adding this to:

T is for Tags at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Another two weeks has flown by and the weather has gone from Winter to summer and now we are having spring, so nice to have comfortable temperatures.

Here is Edna to announce our newest challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Wow so many tags Edna is sporting on her dress.

Here is what I finally came up with for the challenge. sadly it is a "snarkless" project.

I am not sure why I went this route for my tag, it never occured to look up one of my AI beauties or a Stella digi from my computer but I did take myself way out of my comfort zone. Yellow/orange combo is not a favourite and I really don't do mixed media but I blended the oxide inks, added a few bubble from a stencil flicked water on it before I added the wild flower die cuts and the Smile die cut which I cut 3 times to pop it up.

closer look at the sentiment and you can see the stencil bubbles.

I used my TH tag sizzix die to make the tag.

Digging through my "Never Been Used Stuff" (NBUS)

When I saw the Inkspirational Challenge my thoughts went to the Easter Egg Die from Elizabeth Craft Designs can you imagine my surprise when I realized I had never even opened it, I think it's at least 4 years old and I have no idea why I have never used it, it's so lovely it doesn't need to be just Easter.

The fancy part of the egg was cut from white stardream cardstock layered on the sparkly cardstock I found at a dollar + store. There are 2 each of 5 different ombre colours. I cut the sentiment out of the same glitter cardstock and twice out of heavy weight white cardstock and layered them.

Side view to show how the sentiment looks and at the back the small bit was cut off the base so it stands on it's own. I watched a video from Elizabeth Craft Designs on how to do this.

I don't think I needed to cut so much off but the first cut I made was not straight, you know the old saying measure twice cut once. The egg shape I used for the sentiment is also a NBUS, the sentiment is a very vintage Hero Arts wood block sentiment

It's Ornamental, My Dear Watson....

It's a new challenge at the Jingle Belles and since my hair appointment was rescheduled I had s bit of free time to make a card for the challenge and get it done before the linky closed, well surprise I'm early, wow, it doesn't end until next Wednesday.

I was inspired by a teamie's sunset scene you will find it HERE although I think I was a little more heavy handed when blending. I uses Gently Falling embossing folder for the background on navy stardream cardstock the ornament is silver and I layered it with two heavy cardstock layers, The Merry also cut out of Silver posterboard and 3 additional layers were cut to elevate it .

Since I kput Merry on the front with no room for Christmas I added "and bright" ancient rub on from Stampin'up and a sentiment from Stampendous.

I'm adding this to:

Pink Christmas is the Challenge at the Jingle Belles.

So much to do so little time. It's turned pretty cool here in SWO but at least the sun is out now, I am so tired of the rain and damp weather. Although I have heat at cottage but it's just not fun when it's raining. A couple more trips to bring things home for the season and of course to drain the water and winterize it. I had an idea for my card but then
realized some of my Christmas things are not home and neither is my embossing equipment. I have doubles of a lot of things but a heat gun isn't one of them.

After many months of looking I found some metallic poster board at Len's Mills there are 5 colouts but unlide the ones I have bought at Dollar Tree one of the colours is deep pink not red.  I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Entwined Circles and the snowflake die from the sset as well. added a few rhinestones and a die cut JOY, the background was embossed with a Stampin'up sequin embossing folder

Finished the inside with an embossed strip and some leftover snowflakes. And a holiday sentiment from Stampendous.

A closer look so you can see the metallic die cuts are very pink.

E is for Everything PINK at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Welcome to a new installment of the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and Edna's challenge.

E is for Everything PINK, well you can go Pink Halloween which honours Breast Cancer or Pink Christmas as well (note Jingle Belles is doing a Pink Halloween challenge) Then there is frilly froufrou pink, as long as it is PINK we want to see it.  Myself I decided to go with a very simple Pink Halloween, mainly as I was strapped for time and for some reason or other I used my brain power for Birthday cards that needed to get in the mail ASAP.

I was playing around with alcohol inks and photo paper for a Fall/Leaf project and as far as fall colours it was a fail but it looks great for the background of my Pink Halloween card. The spider web (is a NBUS never used before stuff) frame was cut once but the spider was cut three times and glued together, curled his legs and popped im up. I found the pink clitter scrap in the pink folder and thought perfect, I added a vellum shadow

Closer look at the sentiment and how it sparkles.

See how the creepy spider is ready to spring when he spots a victim

Lastly there is no inside, mainly due to having to print one off on the computer and there just was not enough time in my day. Unfortuately I had no snark for the card either, here's hoping for better snarky days ahead.

By the Sea

Hello , thanks for stopping by to see what I have been crafting while at the lake, it seems appropriate to have a water realted csrd for the Seize The Birthday challenge #221 By the Sea is the topping. I was inspired by the surprise party guest Jenny, so in packing for the lake I added my lighthouse die and a scrap of ancient Stampin' up patterned paper, I'm sure it is the final piece.

I love taking pictures on the breakwall overlooking the lake, although when I was there to take the picture the sun decided to hide. I smooshed the scrap of watercolour paper into distress oxide blues. making sure I had a darker spot for the water, My first pass with the die it didn't want to cut one spot, so I grabbed the waxed paper and gave it another try it was perfect. Now I didn't throw the first one away I used the top half and put the yellow between the two layers, the red I paper pieced. The die cuts the lighthouse out of a piece of cardstock but I wanted it to be a circle and used a postage stamp circle die to cut it out. I also cut two heavy cardstock circles to give the circle some elevation.

Finished the inside with scraps of paper and a sentiment from Printworks. (I like this as I use it for Christmas as well)

Winter Wonderland ~~ Kitties and puppies

Welcome to my second post for Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge, it's anything goes + the option of Wonderland. I could not resist making a slimline wonderland scene giving reasonalbly even billing to both well maybe I'm a bit biased and leaning to the kitty side.

I used a NBUS I don't think I've had it that long but it's been a while and I was saving it to use on this challenge.

My first attempt at smooshing oxide inks on watercolour paper, I like how it looks. First I stamped and coloured all the bits for the scene, I used the co-ordinating dies (not well but better than usual)  I put all the images on foam dots but the trees and snowball piles are flat attached.

Finished the inside with a couple of left over pieces and a punched paw prints border and a holday sentiment

Two in the afternoon at the breakwall at the lake is the perfect time to take a picture as long as the sun is shining. Today it was perfect.

Because I've not used this super cute set before I'm entering this in:

Three of a Kind

I'm not playing poker today I'm entering a challenge, just because I like to push myself do do something I am not really good at.......CAS. The Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge is Three of a Kind , I had the image cut for another challenge, I'm happy they found a home.

These thre bunny die cuts are adorable and just needed to be a slimline card (3.5 X 8.5 inches) The background behind the bunnies is a DI oxide background that was floating around, Because the bunny frame is white I did put a very tiny border so it can be seen as the layer is white as well. so sorry about those tiny stars but I had an opportunity to embellish (a missed pencil mark)  I added the pink ears, and after I inlaid them I though oh the nose then I saw the size, never happened.

Here is the inside, a Happy Easter die cut and a few little white bunnies in the grass which is a slimline die from a set of landscape dies.

Tie a Holiday Ribbon On!!

Not as late as normal getting a card done for the Jingle Belles Challenge, When I bring my "things" to the cottage they are always in a jumble, at some point I will try to organize to find things easier, After I finished the card I found the original die I had planned using. Ah still one day left.

First a litttle Tutorial

This is alcohol ink smooshing and how I do it is...cut 2 pieces of shiny cardstock to the size you want, take a large ziplock bag put one piece of cardstock inside, center it and zip it shut. Take what ever colours of alcohol markers you want to use and scribble all over the plastic using the piece inside the zip lock back as a guide when you are satisfied then spritz it with rubbing alcohol and put the shiny side down on the "mess" and lift it up see if it is how you want it, it drys quickly. I think this a fun technique. On to my card.

When I found the background piece knew I wanted to back some ornaments with it. Thank heavens I brought a "stick it" sheet, bought them a year ago at scrapfest and they are working great for sticking intricate dies with no glued fingers. When leaving on Friday for the cottage I threw a few rolls of ribbon in my tote, I used the sheer white 1/4 inch ribbon to hang the baubles and made some tiny bows, the background  was embossed with swiss dots and layered it on a scrap of purple.

Close up of the ornament.

Finished the inside with a couple of scraps of paper and a sentiment from Impression Obsession.
