Love is in the Air!!!

Hello friends, family and followers, I hope you are all well and staying safe. It's been a struggle for a lot of people, I have lots of time but I am really having trouble creating, I get the ideas and it takes me forever to either get started or to execute my ideas (if I have any). My plan is to try to get some organization into my room so it's easier to find things, 75% of my crafting time is looking for something which today I was looking for a stamp set, I went through all the dvd cases, and found nothing, even looked in a box that has things I brought home from the cottage in the fall, changed my mind on what I was using and where did I find it but right beside the table I was working on.

The challenge for the next two weeks is "Love is in the Air" it doesn't necessarly need to be a Valentine card but we would like to see Hearts on your project. I went with hearts and Valentine, I need to make a couple more too.

So for my card I used paper from a couple of 12 X 12 paper I bought 3 years ago or maybe more. Everything I used is over a year old, haven't shopped in that long. I used Spellbinders heart dies, the sentiment dies are two years old, I love the bold Hello, I am not a CAS stamper and there was too much "white" space for my liking so I had to add it.  The fancy fold I found on Dawn's Glitter Pit videos, it looks complicated but I followed her video step by step (takes longer when you do it that way) The fold is an Angle pop up fold. I do like trying new folds.

Here is the inside to show the Pop up part.  It was fun and I hope to make more with this fold.  I added  a couple of die cut sentiments and it's done.

Black & White is the Challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!

Hello again friends it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and Mimi chose the theme Black & White, what is more elegant than that?  As most of you know I'm crafting at the cottage and sometimes I have trouble remembering what is there and my B&W paper pad wasn't, fortunately I had a 12 X 4 1/4 scrap there just enough for my project as long as I didn't make a wrong cut. (I didn't) So without any more chit-chat here is my project.

I made a "screen" card, these are easy if you have a couple of discontinued punches.  I started with a 11 X 5 1/2 piece of black cardstock scored lightly at 2 3/4 5 1/2 and 8 1/4 then useing the Fleur dis Lis border punch I punched across the top, then scored heavier, Using the retired Decorative label punch  I punched the botton on the 4 panels.  Well there is 2 from my stash that hasn't been used in a long time. I layered the patterned paper on white cardstock. The mini doily dies I've not had too long but hadn't used them yet. I added black die cut flowers, a butterfly and a die cut message to each panel and I added some white pearls to the butterfly bodies.

Closer look at the first two panels

Closer look at the last two panels

This card folds in half for mailing in a square envelope.

Stash items are the two punches, the patterned paper 2 years old, butterflies ancient who knows when I bought the pearls and the flower dies are at least 3 years old. Of course the mini words are are well loved.

Adding this to:

A Place to Start ~~ July theme Flowers.

It's Jingle Belle time again!!

Lauren and Stephanie are asking for "shaped" cards for this challenge, I knew just what shape I wanted to make and it's a Rocker Card.

Sorry for the dark photo but it was way too busy at the beach to try to get near the spot I usually take my pictures and it was also getting later in the day and the sun has shifted off the deck but you can see it well enough. I used the birtch trees die from the Frantic Stamper and the cardinals from a Impression Obsessions die. The background is a oxide distree background I made.

This is the back of the card, the sentiment is from Stampendoous and the deer one of a set of 3 from Impression Obsession.

I'm adding this (earlier than usual) to

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Get in Shape for the Holidays

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!!

You're So Sweet!!

Challenge #423 at Shopping Our Stash is "You're So Sweet" well lots of options for this challenge,  Something with a sweet or cute theme, could be food or a cute baby, a kid card so many options.  Of course I went with the cutest, sweetest stamp I have and that is House Mouse stamp, but one with a yummy chocolate truffle.

I have made it into an accordian card, the die set is from Elisabeth Craft designs, this is only the third or 4th I have made and every time I need to get out the "class" card so I know I'm doing it right. The image is from House Mouse Design stamps, the tiny happy birthday I think is hero arts. The sentiment was cut with the original spellbinders dies

This is the inside of the cards and the back is also decorated with a sentiemnt and a place to sign my name.  Since I made this a while back and mailed it I only had pictures from my phone and they were fuzzy when I sent them to the computer but I will add the back on the card below.

The patterned paper I used was a pad of 12 X 12 from Dollarama.  I would make lots more of these super cute folds if they were not so taxing on the brain, then again if I made more they would be easier. lol. Vicious circle.
So I chose a sweet mouse and a sweet treat for my theme.

It's Time for a New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash

Hello friends, family and followers it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and the theme it Happy Passover, Happy Easter or Happy Spring. I chose to showcase a couple of Easter cards I made for my great grandsons although with the social distancing I think I am now putting them in the mail, they will be a little late but at least they will get to see them before summer.  I have time to craft and really haven't been doing much at all, I have great ideas, perhaps I get overloaded with ideas and then don't do any, time to remedy that one.  I always try to make a different fold, different technique or something moving and I'm running out of ideas especially since there are two. Here is what I came up with for this year.

Something I have not made in eons, a Waterfall card, of course I went looking for tutorials and there are many some very hard to follow but I used Dawn's Stamping Studio tutorial, it's the one I have always used. I made just a card front and a trivet to go with it. Talk about using stash, nothing on this card is less than 5 years old with the exception of the bunny dies which are probably a year or more but never been die cut before. The brads and ribbon are about 10 years.

Since I don't have three or four hands (would be nice some days) I couldn't hold the card operate the waterfall and take a video at the same time, so this will give you and idea of how it worked.

Next is a "Spring" card I made for the younger great grandson.

There were a few tutorials some were 5 1/4" square but because the bunny wasn't that big I made it
4 1/4 inch square. It is called a spring card as it "springs" up when taken out of the envelope. These are really great cards for a graduate card.
This is called Lucky Bunny and is from Elizabeth Craft Designs

The bunny is a great frustration builder, all those many parts but it was fun.

Another great stash buster, I think I've had the bunny die for 3 years and it was the first time I have played with it, the rest of the card was made out of scraps. My scrap file box is getting too full I need to make more use of the scraps that are in there,

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello family, friends and followers I thought I would show you the Valentine cards I made for my two great grandsons and a friend. They are all the same design but different images. All of them were made with Bugaboo Design digital stamps and valentine patterned paper I bought a couple of years ago at the Dollar store.

I finally got a chance to use my neverending circle dies, I bought them on sale at Winners and are just in a plastic bag. The card fold is a rocker card, I found the tutorial for it  on Butterfly Challenge at the top there is a tab Card Shapes.

Isn't that monkey cute, I love Bugaboo Design images. This one was for Will.

This adorable valentine bear was a Friday Freebie at Bugaboo Stamps, it was for Cal.

This is my youngest great grandson opening the envelope, He thought he could eat it.

Stick with me only one more.

Another adorable monkey from Bugaboo Stamps, I was trying to explain to a friend about making rocker cards and I wasn't really doing a good job, so I decided to make her one.
This is the sentiment I put on the back of the rocker part of the card on all three valentines.

I'm going to enter this in:

Anything but Square!!!

I made a Birthday card for a friend, I always send a House Mouse card (we both love them) but I always try to make a different fold each time. (She is an awesome crafter)  I made a triangle easel card, it's very hard to photograph but here it is.

Love that Happy Hopper munching all those truffles.

Pure happiness

This is the back of the easel card where I put the sentiment
the patterned paper is from a Christmas pack and the sentiment from Printworks. The die cut is a spellbinder's set of dies.

It's a Cupcake kind of Day!!!

It's a brand new challenge at Shopping Our Stash ~~ Hello Cupcake!! Chris is the hostess for this challenge. I'm sure you have a few cupcake stamps or more in your stash as well as cupcake paper, brads, ribbon and anything cupcake you can think of. I picked a favourite stamp company for my image, House Mouse Designs, Cupcake Belly, you can see that it is appropriately named too.

I'm not sure of the name of the fold I used, I just call it a tri-fold, (I copied it from a Birthday card I received from "Donna" my house mouse loving friend.)  The patterned paper is from a Kitchen pack I bought in the U.S. a long time ago when I was doing recipe swaps, 8 or 10 years ago. The cardstock is Cameo Coral  and also very antique. The base is 11 X 5 scored at 2 1/2 and 4 on each end. The card when folded is 5 X 5 1/2.

Close up of the image.

This is the back of the card. The sentiment is one of my very first stamps I bought 18 or 19 years ago.

You take the Cake!!!

Hello friends, family and followers it's Tuesday and time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash!! It's Donna's time to choose the challenge theme so Challenge #362 is Feed Me!! We want to see some type of food on your project, after last week's dandy challenge this on was easy peasy. Of course for me the second week of July is mega birthday time so I made a card with a Birthday Cake on it.

I used a "gruffie" from House Mouse Designs, I love this guy with the huge birthday cake, hope he doesn't eat it in on sitting, perhaps he is going to share it with his friends.

I made an easel card!! I haven't made one for a long time and they are so easy, in fact the base of the easel was in my box of "changed my mind" things. The image is also from the same box  it was stamped and never used.as was the patterned paper, nice when you can make a card out of "leftovers",as was the patterned paper, nice when you can make a card out of "leftovers", The enamel dots are over a year old, bought two packages at the dollar store I'm on the second package now.

Since there is no inside to an easel card I hid the sentiment behind the image.

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #268 ~~ Anything Goes/Birthday

Welcome to another fabulous challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge!! This is my 6th blog post as Guest Designer, I have had so much fun creating with my favourite stamps. As always it's Anything goes as long as you use a house mouse, happy hopper or a gruffie on your project, there is always an option and this challenge it's "Birthday" how easy peasy is that!!!.

The stamp I used is Bug Off  I made a 5 1/2 inch square card and it's a Double Z fold I found the tutorial on        The patterned paper is from Hero Arts Kissing Booth, I love this paper pad and it's my second one as I used the other up.  Happy Birthday is from Party Panda from SU.

Close up of Muzzy in the flower. I added stickles to the grasshopper's wings and the action marks.

Cards partially open, the inside sentiment is from Printworks

The second sentiment is from Stampendous and is part of the House Mouse line.  This was a very fun and easy fold to do.

Thanks for visiting me today to see what I have made for my Guest Designer spot at House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge.  I hope you can find some time to create a project with one of the super cute critters from House Mouse Designs, there are prize too.

April Showers Bring May Flowers.....

Challenge #355 at Shopping Our Stash is April showers bring May Flowers, we want to see some flowers on your project.  We didn't have much rain in April we sort of had never ending snow and ice storms, so far here in SWO it's May showers bring May flowers. It's so nice to see the green of the leaves and the blossoms coming out although it is a bit cool for the 24th of May long weekend, it's also our first weekend at the cottage and I have very limited supplies for crafting, just enough to manage a card for the challenge.

You will have to bear with me for the pictures, it's very dull here today and I left my ott lamp at home, I really brought minimal crafting tools for the weekend. I made a "screen card" since on my "scrap box diving  I found some left over cards from a paper pad, not sure which one it was. I trimmed them, matted and put them on some patterned paper, the border punch I used for the top is Fleur dis Lis and the bottom is a label punch from Stampin'up.

Here is the front panel, I recycled the punch outs from the top border, while "grabbing" stuff to throw in my bag I found diecut butterflies and a pearl swirl package I had out from another challenge.

Center two panels finished with an assortment of odds and ends of things I tossed into the bag.

Sorry I seemed to have cut off the top, aren't you glad it's not a photograph, it would have been the heads that are missing. More butterflies and that scrap of heart border that also made it's way into my bag.

Most of my project is made with stuff from the scrap box except the cardstock but I used the whole piece with the exception of a small rectangle. The two punches I used have not seen love in a long long time. Even the pearl package is 3 or 4 years old.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you can find time to make a "May Flower" project for us at SOS, head over there now and see what the rest of the team has made.

Celebrate National Dress Day with Shopping Our Stash!!!

Today March 6, 2018 is National Dress Day check it out!! Mimi dreams up great ones!!  So in honour of National Dress Day we are having a Dress challenge at Shopping Our Stash so what do you have to do you ask? create a project with a dress on it or inspired by one (please add picture to you post).  On Scrap & Stamp with Frenchie she gave the directions to make a "stand alone fold" it fits in an A2 envelope, so of course I just had to make one.

Here is how it stands alone.
First I dug out a Stampin'up stamp set, a beautiful you, I bought it a year ago at last year's Sale-a-bration (so I could get another stamp set free that I've never used) now that's digging in my stash. the patterned paper is from a pack (I bought two one in pretty colours one in neutrals) over a year ago at $$rama.  I paper pieced the dress and hat.

Paper piecing was quite the adventure, the patterned paper is very light weight and while fussy cutting I not only cut a sleeve off once I did it twice, I thought you learn from your mistakes?

The sentiment is on the back center panel.

See how it closes to fit in an A2 envelope

I would like to support these challenges.
Seize the Birthday ~~ no toppings

Thanks for stopping by and checking out what I've been making, don't forget to head over to the Main Blog and see what the rest of the design team have made.

Jingle Belle's Challenge ~~ Take Two of a Colouring We Will Go.

I'm back again with my second card, both my cards I have had the ideas since the challenge was announced February 9th.

For this card I used what I thought was a failed galaxy background which was left over from the Galaxy challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers (you have until Friday at 11.59 p.m.to enter) You will have a real good chance for the Queen of Snark and no snark required.  For the background I used three shades of blue distress inks and Black soot. The snowman was coloured with copic markers.  This is an Easel card but didn't take a picture of it as an easel.

This is the card opened, I used white enamel dots from the Eyelet Outlet store.
The spellbinders dies I used are Labels 8 and Fancy labels 8

I added the sentiment to the back of the easel card.

I am entering this in:
Jingle Belles Rock ~~ A  colouring we will go

Happy Little Stampers ~~ Christmas anything goes (no twist)

Thanks for visiting today and have a fabulous week!!
