Snow Friends

Hello and welcome to another installment of what have I forgotten to bring for this challenge....I can safely say it took 2 trips to have everything. A few weeks ago I was making a triple easel display card and had a measuring problem but I didn't throw my base out as I had a plan for it but it took me this long to get it completed and basically it took 15 minutes to glue it together. My aim was to get it done for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge, A friend for life not just for Christmas.

I thought this image was so cute of the little girl hugging her Snowman and I hope it passes as a friend for life, even if it is a short one for the snowman. The stamp is a long retired Stampin'up set and I use it every winter. The triple easel display tutorial is from Delight of my Art facebook page Stamp with Delight. Mystery Stamping every Wednesday with a Fun Fold.

As you see the card folds flat for mailing.

I added the sentiment to the back of the card with a couple of scraps of the patterned paper. Of course here is where the trial of stamping in 2 places comes in...lots of Holiday patterned paper and Birthday stamps and dies obviously my packing skills are lacking.

I am adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by today, you still have time to enter the challenge I think it is open until the 31st.

Baby It's Cold Outside!!

Hello fellow crafters, I'm finally slipping in with a card for the current (soon to end) challenge at Christmas Kickstart. When I saw the prompt "Brimming with Style" which means Hats I knew I had the perfect House Mouse image to make a winter card. Thank goodness we have finally passed (fingers crossed) the need for winter hats, bring on the face shading straw hats. So here is my card for the challenge.

Being a Winter card I decided to use my favourite colour....Purple I like non-traditional colours for Christmas as well. The sentiment is a wood block stamp from Impression Obsession/

Finished the inside with a Stampendous Cling Mount Sentiment stamp.

Thanks for stopping by today as you can see I'm making progress with my Holiday Cards, hopefully there will be less stress in November.

Santa in September

Hello all my crafty friends, I finally finished a card for Christmas Kickstart Challenge, It's sad when I miss the deadline, it means I'm not keeping up with my holiday card stash and when November arrives it will be crunch time.  Wen I am in a crafting slump I dig out a sketch, most of the time it is a Sheetload sketch with measurements and pictures. You can make multiples with patterned paper and cardstock  ( 8 to 12 sometimes) or the cutting measurements are there for making one. This is one of my favourite ones.

I love using my Stampendous mini acrylic stamps, perfect for a 2 1/12 inch circle. I could have made 2 cards with 2 sheets of patterned paper 1/2 sheet of cardstock and 2 bases.

Inside of the top fold A2 card with scraps of patterned paper and a sentiment from a Kraftin' Kimmy set, all stamps and paper are many years old.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!!

Juggling Act

I'm back again with another Holiday card because it's Rudolph Days and it's my first one this year, of course there are a couple other challenges that I worked into the card. My post might be short today it is so humid at the lake my fingers are sticking to the keys, there is no A/C here.

Since Christmas Kickstart's prompt was Merry go Round, there are oodles of circles on this Circle Easel card. Next in line was the Jingle Belles Tic Tac Toe board and woohoo I did 2 lines with one card.
I used a House Mouse designs image nothing fancy in the design I only have circle dies with me.

As you see the easel folds flat for mailing in a 5 1/2 inch square envelope although I have no picture the sentiment is on the back of the card.

I'm entering this in:
Rudolph Days ~~ Anything Christmas

Christmas Kickstart ~~ Merry-go-round

top horizontal row and right vertical row

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge ~~ Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope where you are is a lot cooler and less humid than here.

It's a Grumpy Christmas

Another lovely day at the cottage, another holiday card made and plans on the itinerary for another except I had not planned on a trip to Port Dover to Len's Mills for supplies, like foam dots, I realized I had not packed them so couldn't pop my image up. I decided to follow a Sheetload sketch from November 2024. there are instructions to make 8 cards but there is also the measurements for just making one and they help you use up patterned paper and scraps. I also followed the Jingle Belles tic/tac/toe challenge board.

Stretching it a bit for the Jingle Belles it was the left vertical  line animal/diecut/red and I only have two die sets, circles and hexagons and a few word dies but they just didn't fit. I even had a scrap of smooshed water colour paper in my basket of scraps. It took me longer to pick out 2 patterned papers that I thought went together nicely than it took to make the card.

Finished the inside with a scrap of patterned paper and a wood block stamp from Michaels eons ago. It's so much easier when you have a couple of challenges that make it easy and a sketch that ties them together.

So on to where I am adding this card.

I'm glad you stopped by today to see my newest holiday card, I hope you are making progress with yours, both these challenges are great for building your stash.

Peppermint Dreams

I am so far behind with making holiday cards, I need to step up the pace and one place I get my inspiration is from the Jingle Belles challenges, I brought some crafty things for my almost 2 weeks at the cottage, not sure I have enough to last the whole time,  home is just an hours drive away if I really get desperate, I just need to remember when fall arrives I have to bring it me.

There is a perfect time to take pictures by the lake and I missed it.  I was very happy to see I had an already coloured house mouse image with me, saved a little time. I followed the top row of the tic/tac/toe board at the Jingle Belles challenge, Animal, designer paper and ribbon. (if I had added a diecut it would have been a two-fer.)

Finished the inside with sentiment and a scrap of patterned paper.

I am adding this to:

Jingle Belles ~~ Tree Skirt Tic/Tac/Toe

Christmas Kickstart ~~ Merry go round

Thanks for visiting today and if you need to add more holiday cards to your stash you have until
July 30 to play.

My Precious

The challenge for this fortnight at Shopping Our Stash is to use something on your project you have been hoarding. Could it be the last piece of a favourite paper, perhaps a piece of vintage lace or a fancy embellishment well we want you to be strong and give it the starring role on your project.  Although I'm sure I have other items this last piece of 12 X 12 patterned paper from Echo Park kept getting back in the drawer I just couldn't bear to make that first cut.

I made another mini slimline card as I need a couple of "money" holders for gifts,  I assure you the sentiment looks much better IRL. The cute penguin was a stamp and die set, normally I would fussy cute the image but decided to go the quicker route. The fur on his had and coat is liquid pearls. (hadn't used it since last year or maybe longer.

As you see by the side view I popped Mr. Penguin up grounding him with the sentiment that was in my "parts box" and matched perfectly.

Inside was finished with a very ancient Hero Arts sentiment.

The Jingle Belles are serving Holiday Leftovers.

The theme at the Jingle Belles is Holiday Leftovers, not the eating kind the extras and scraps from making holiday cards and a lot of them are probably on your desk. I collected some and planned on getting busy on the weekend and technically it's still my weekend, I'm heading home in the morning.

here is the pile I collected although I didn't use all of them.

As you might notice the patterned paper wasn't in the photo that is because I found it here at the cottage. The Happy Holidays I inked with a green marker and the cute owl is popped up.

Close up of the owl.

Thanks for stopping by today and there is still time to get in on any or all of the 3 challenges.

Midnight Flight......

Here I am working on my Holiday cards and of course adding it to some favourite Christmas challenges.  I am continuing to make Mini Slimline cards for slipping money in or if you still use them a cheque, they are perfect, I usually need as least 3 myself.  Since I had a third idea for the Jingle Belles challenge last month I had my card 1/3 made but the biggest part was having the idea so when the Jingle belles challenge came up featuring the "big guy" I was all set.

The background is made with 3 shades of distress oxide blue inks, the moon was punch from a small piece from my scrap box. The clous are flat attached but the sleigh and reindeer are elevated. Believe was cut three times and glued together for height. A few twinkling rhinestones for stars were added. I layered the image on black and since I didn't have any blue 100 pound cardstock (I like it for bases) I blended blue distress oxide in to the edges of a white base.

Close up showing the elevation of the sleigh and reindeer.

Finished the inside with a favourite sentiment and some black cardstock. Next time I will make the inky background larger so I have a couple of scraps to put on the inside.

Here are the three challenges I'm entering:

Jingle Belles Challenge  ~~ Man with the Bag

Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~~ #85 Santa and his Sidekicks

ABC Christmas Challenge ~~ I is for Inky

Thanks for visiting today and if you need to get your Holiday cards started all three of these challenges are great.

Holiday Cards to Die (Cut) For.....

Intriguing caption for the newest challenge at the Jingle Belles and I have so many sets of dies that have never seen cardstock I could have used  more if I could find time.  I will apologize first for the less than stellar photos but here is my card.

This is a 5.5 square card, unknown patterned paper (I think it might be the last piece. The bow is die cut out of green and gold shiny posterboard, and as I said the photography is not the best.

Finished the inside with a couple of scraps of patterned paper and a sentiment.

I am adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by today, if you want to enter the Jingle Belles challenge you have until March 13 at 6 p.m. EDT.

Out on a Limb!!!

My goodness I'm on a roll this week 3 posts in 2 days  but it's nice to be making fun cards for challenges and to build my Holiday stash. I actually had the patterned paper on my desk for the Jingle Belles challenge "text me" so I just carried on with it even though the challenge ended at 6 p.m. I decided that I hadn't played along with Christmas Kickstart or Rudolph Days this month and if I don't reach of quota of 5 a month then it will be a November marathon.

To start my card I had an already stamped Fluffles image in a pile so coloured it up, die cut with a pair of spellbinders circle dies. Patterned paper is Peppermint from Crate Paper. Sketch is from Sheetload of Cards February 2022.

Finished the inside with a couple of scraps of paper and a Stampabilities (no longer in business) steamp.

I am entering this in:

Rudolph Days ~~ February

ABC Christmas Challenge ~~ C is for Cats

Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been crafting.
