Love Coffee?

Coffee Lovers Spring Blog hop is getting close to the end but I finally have a card made for the hop! I had it finished over the weekend but I really wanted to use the super cool Coffee die cut I had in my scrap box but of course I was not at home where it was, so without further hesitation here is my card.

I have a few images stamped and hidden in my Design team book, just in case I want to do some colouring well along with the uncoloured ones was this sweet house mouse image already coloured  in blue. Now you see why I wanted to use the coffee die cut. Sketch Saturday posted their new sketch on Saturday I knew I wanted to use it and it was perfect for the image. The washi tape strip I have no idea who's it was but I know I bought it before washi was the "in" thing at a flea market.

It's Tuesday!! Time for a NEW Challenge at Shopping our Stash.

Hello family, friends and followers!!! Wasn't it a gorgeously "hot" weekend, lots of sunshine here in SWO!! I had time to make a card for Shopping Our Stash!! challenge #356 ~~ Pomp and Circumstance which translates to a Graduation card or just a Congrats card will do.  I had a chance to take advantage of the Friday Freebie from Bugaboo Stamps and it was a grad. image. They have a different freebie every Friday.

Not my usual mouse image this time but it's a super cute Grad Mouse from Bugaboo Stamps,  Although the image is new I used my original spellbinders oval dies and the cardstock is probably a couple of years old.

Close up of the image.

Oh look finished with out the sentiment, I have a great grad . sentiment and  I neglected to bring it to the cottage,  Well be prepared there will be a lot of darn I forgot "something" at home, or didn't think to pack it.  I brought my big shot but only brought the magnetic platform so there went any idea of embossing the background.  I just need to pack smarter.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the Main Blog and check out what the rest of the design team have made.

Jingle Belles Rock it with a Saturday Sketch........

Hello Jingle Belles Fans!!! finally I had time to join in with "tying one around the Christmas Tree" at the Jingle Belles, you get to use ribbon, lace, fibers, ricrac, or whatever trimmings you can think to attach to your card. Well I had dug into the ribbon jar and found a piece of red ribbon and that's as far as it went I didn't put it into the box of "stuff" for the lake, good job I had presence of mind to toss in some lace.

I had grand plans for crafting this weekend unfortunately I didn't plan as well as I thought. I took my big shot but only the magnetic base, embossing folder 3 of them, I couldn't emboss with the magnetic base. I brought no Christmas patterned paper pads, I must have 10 of them. What I did bring and gave some love to the music background I've had over 6 months and it's never seen ink, the other think ws the red doily bought at least 2 years ago after Christmas, the lace is sticky backed lace from Hero Arts and it reminded me of snowflakes.  I'm thinking there was no rhyme nor reason for my packing. Better luck next weekend. As soon as I saw the Saturday sketch I knew it was perfect for what I had planned for the challenge.

Close up of the image, it's called Candy Gram and features Amanda and Maxwell.

Finished the inside with a sentiment (remembered one good for me) and a piece of the music background

I would like to enter this in:

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #267

Another two weeks has flown by again, I'm glad I still have a couple of challenges left as Guest Designer at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge.  As always the challenge is Anything Goes with an option to use dies, now I'd say that's an easy challenge for sure. Just remember to use a House Mouse, Happy Hopper or a Gruffie on your project. I went with the Die Cut route and used a Karen Burniston Oval Landscape Accordion Die set.

Make a Wish 02 with Amanda and Monica is the stamp I used, it fits perfect in the oval.
This is the card closed. The die set comes with frame, ovals and the corner pieces too.

Open card I used a Stampworks sentiment.

Closer look at the sentiment.

Here is the back of the opened card. Both sentiments are from Stampworks.

Thanks for stopping by today if you haven't checked out the MAIN BLOG head over and see what the design team have made and see the awesome prizes you can win if you enter the challenge.

I love an ATC challenge!!!

Happy Little Stampers has an ATC challenge every month, it's the last challenge of the month and I managed to get three finished, I honestly thought I made 4 with a stencil and oxide inks but could only find three but that was fine as my sentiment were a set of three.

I made a trio of stenciled ATCs with three different gold butterflies from Cheery Lynn Designs (one of my first dies I bought)  The Live Laugh and Love dies are generic ones but I love the size, these are from a set of 10 different words. They are perfect for ATCs.

I did the background with pink cardstock and picked raspberry distress ink over a stencil I bought at the Dollar Tree.

The background was made with the same stencil and worn lipstick distress oxide ink.

this one was done with pink piroette cardstock and worn lipstick distress ink and the same stencil

April Showers Bring May Flowers.....

Challenge #355 at Shopping Our Stash is April showers bring May Flowers, we want to see some flowers on your project.  We didn't have much rain in April we sort of had never ending snow and ice storms, so far here in SWO it's May showers bring May flowers. It's so nice to see the green of the leaves and the blossoms coming out although it is a bit cool for the 24th of May long weekend, it's also our first weekend at the cottage and I have very limited supplies for crafting, just enough to manage a card for the challenge.

You will have to bear with me for the pictures, it's very dull here today and I left my ott lamp at home, I really brought minimal crafting tools for the weekend. I made a "screen card" since on my "scrap box diving  I found some left over cards from a paper pad, not sure which one it was. I trimmed them, matted and put them on some patterned paper, the border punch I used for the top is Fleur dis Lis and the bottom is a label punch from Stampin'up.

Here is the front panel, I recycled the punch outs from the top border, while "grabbing" stuff to throw in my bag I found diecut butterflies and a pearl swirl package I had out from another challenge.

Center two panels finished with an assortment of odds and ends of things I tossed into the bag.

Sorry I seemed to have cut off the top, aren't you glad it's not a photograph, it would have been the heads that are missing. More butterflies and that scrap of heart border that also made it's way into my bag.

Most of my project is made with stuff from the scrap box except the cardstock but I used the whole piece with the exception of a small rectangle. The two punches I used have not seen love in a long long time. Even the pearl package is 3 or 4 years old.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you can find time to make a "May Flower" project for us at SOS, head over there now and see what the rest of the team has made.

Flower Power Take #2

Since I couldn't decide which "Flower Power" flower stamp I wanted to use I just had to jump in on the second week of  challenge #266 at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge. As you know it's always Anything goes but you can use the option which is Flower Power.

The stamp I used is Flower Bed with Muzzy and being Canadian I decided I wanted to colour this super cute tulip to look like the tulips that were grown last year for the 150th anniversary of Canada.
I used Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched oval die and the spellbinders decorative oval frame and some red pearls I found while digging through the gem drawer. (amazing what I find there)

Close up of the image.

Finished inside using a Stampworks sentiment.

Have you entered your project yet? There are prizes to be won!! You have until Saturday May 26, 2018 at midnight.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a creative week.

It's Saturday so Let's Get Inky!!!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge #110 ~~ I is for Inky. We want you to use inks not just for stamping an image we want to see more than that. I decided (due to a time crunch) to use Distress inks both oxide and regular and a stencil which is something a little new for me.

I used Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint and Worn Lipstick Oxide inks and Picked Raspberry Distress ink from Ranger with a Hero Arts Stencil Large lotus pattern, The pearls are ancient from my stash bought at the dollar store.

Since I was going for fast and simple I used this very large Happy Birthday die cut.

Close up of the shading although there is some ghosting as the stencil wasn't secured as well as I thought, lesson learned.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the main blog and check out the rules and how inky the rest of the team have gotten.

It's a Panda Bear Birthday!!!

Happy Tuesday!!! Time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and Mimi has picked a perfect theme for the challenge ~~ For the Kids!!! It's perfect for me as my Great Grandson turns one in June and I needed to make a couple of birthday cards and the theme of the party is Teddy Bear Picnic, so I chose to made a Panda bear card.

Although the panda bear stamp is reasonably new all the papers were scraps out of the scrap box, the polka dot piece was an extra base for an ATC card quite a few years ago. As soon as I saw Sketch Saturday I knew it was perfect for my image. The Panda is from the Sale-a-bration promotion in March and was free (with purchase of course)

Since it's his first Birthday I wanted to put the 1 on the card, which ties in with Seize the Birthday's challenge "it's just a number"

Flower Power!!!

Here I am again for another Guest Designer card for House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge, I guess you might be tired of me saying it's my favourite stamps and my favourite challenge but I'm going to say it again.

Challenge #266 is Anything goes or you can use the option of Flower Power, which is what I chose for my card.  Since we are finally getting spring, the crocus are finished and the tulips have fought their way through the ever returning snow and next the lilac trees will be in full bloom scenting the air with beautiful perfume.

The stamp I picked is Sensory Overload with Monica, the image was cut with Spellbinders Labels (8 and the frame is Spellbinders Decorative labels 8.

the inside sentiment is from Stampworks

Thanks for joining me here today I hope you find some time and check out the HMFMC Blog and see what the rest of the team have made when you have checked them out then enter your House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffie project in the challenge, there are prizes too.

Time for a New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!!

It's Chris's turn to host Challenge #353 at Shopping Our Stash and she chose Chanson Papillon  which means add a Butterfly or more on your project. I love butterflies and one of the stash items is butterfly dies that I have had for a while but haven't had a chance to use them yet.

When I found the turquoise swirl gems in my stash I just had to use Tempting Turquoise for my base. I have had the Eyelet Outlet gems in my stash for over a year.

The triple butterfly die is three different sized meant to be stacked, I edged them in peacock feathers distress oxide ink, flat attached the largest and popped the medium and small butterfly on top.

The sentiment is a very old Hero Arts stamp and gets summoned into service when a vertical sentiment is required. I had an extra butterfly die cut and added it to the inside.

Well not a huge amount of stash bustin' here, I probably have much older butterfly stamps and dies but just opening the gem swirls is good for me because they are so pretty and I tend to hoard pretty things. Now you have seen what I have made I hope you will head over to the MAIN BLOG and see what the rest of the design team have made.

It's time for Drumroll please ~~ #109 E is for Engineering challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Happy Saturday!! ah finally the weekend!!! I hope you will find some time to check out the New challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers E is for Engineering in layman's terms Steampunk!! This challenge hits my panic button, the rest of the design team are so good at it and I struggle.  On my occasional rummage through my 12 X 12 papers I found not one but 2 pieces of glitter paper from Forever in Time (dollar store 2/$1.00) and it had 5 artist trading card size images on it, wow score one for me.  Here is what I did with them. (not quite as much stress this year)

Here is a grouping of the finished ATCs.

In no particular order since I couldn't remember how they were placed.

the first one I just added a metal clock that I've had for a long time in my box of trinkets and when I was tidying up a pile I found those alpha stickers, oh my they are so old and half used I was afraid they wouldn't stick but they did, unfortuately all the "Ms" in lower case letters was totally used up so I used upside down "W"s. If I had had more Ms or Ws I would have done My Time oh well I'm happy anyway.

The second one I alter with a couple of gears and that feather out of my trinket box, and the diamond brads are a retired pack from SU.

If I'm not mistaken the N in steampunk is an upside down U but the M is real. For this ATC I just added a couple of brads and stamped some arrows (not well though, how can I miss with a clear block and a clear stamp?

This was was very simple, I cut the gears from some leftover copper added the brad and the little arrows are from the spokes on the one gear (they were two cute not to use them) I also used a Tim Holtz flower stencil and worn lipstick DO ink. (it's very subtle)

Last but not least is my fav. the steampunk image I found on the internet did a funky die cut on it added some ancient key/padlock I have them in three colours  it was always my thoughts they wouldn't have them long at the $$store. I also used one of TH mini layering stencils and walnut stain distress oxide inks.

There you have my once a year Steampunk offering for the E is for Engineering challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, check out the main blog and see the awesome projects the rest of the design team have made.

Thanks for visiting and have an awesome weekend.

Shopping Our Stash is Celebrating Mother's Day for Challenge #352

It won't be long before it is Mother's Day and you want to be ready with a card for Mom or for someone that has been like a second mom.  I have an idea who will be the recipient of my design team card.

I used Pansy Patch circa 1998 from Stampendous and Leigh's Basket, limited edition

I stamped the pansies, coloured and fussy cut them out The basket was stamped with Versafine Sepia on Crumb Cake and added some shadows to the slats.

Since this is a Mother's Day card for a friend I used a lovely sentiment (retired from SU) and cut it out with a tag die and popped it up on the basket.

Also from Limited Edition is the Flower/Friendship Slip Card stamp which goes along with the basket stamp. The sentiment was stamped with versafine purple and the pansies were attached to it.

Here is the slip-card on it's own.

There were so many stash items used for this card, I haven't given any of these three stamps any love for a long, long time. probably because it is a very time consuming venture but so pretty when it is finished.

Thanks for looking today and head over to the Main Blog check out what the rest of the design team have made for Mimi's theme.
