Joy to the World!!! A Musical Themed Card for the Jingle Belles!!!

Not your normal coloured Christmas card!!! Not by a long shot!!! But I love these two colours together. The Jingle Belles challenge is all about MUSIC so out came my Penny Black penguin stamp, it comes with two sentiments Joy to the World and Let it Snow. Kinda hard to think of snow when it's 30 degrees celcius and the humidity is smothering, probably why my card is so bright.

Isn't this the cutest stamp, after my House Mice, penguins are my fav.

Close up of the trio singing their little hearts out.

While digging through an old button box my fingers came upon this antique button that to me looked just like a snowflake and really needed to be on a card. The background was embossed with a folder from a Cuttlebug bundle.

Since I have misplaced my easel it was hard to take a pictured but here is the finished inside.

Challenge #267 At Shopping Our Stash is Learn Something New!!

So many new techniques, folds and tutorials and at Shopping Our Stash we want you to try a new one to you, something you have never tried. Well I love to try new techniques and I've done faux silk, faux leather, triple stamping, and a lot of others so I went searching and found one that was so intriguing  called Floating Chalk Prints.  I made a few before I had one that I was pleased with although the others were fine just not what I was aiming at, every attempt give a different pattern.

I found a sketch at CAS Colours & Sketch (I just might be in time to enter this) I wanted something that gave lots space to show off the technique which is very simple, container that is big enough for your paper, couple of centimeters of water, scrape some vibrant coloured chalks (I used some SU chalks) then put the cardstock in it lift up and let dry.  Hello is a cuttlebug die plate I've had for more years than I can remember. An oval and a butterfly from a package from the $$ store.

Closer look at the floating chalk background.

Another angle, there are lots of tiny specks of chalk on it, doesn't really show that well.

CAS Colours and Sketch #188 I flipped the sketch.

Graduation Hedgie

This is the week we have been waiting for NBUS #7 at djardkreations, I have lots of Never Been Used Schtuff, and I had to remove this one from it's plastic wrap to use it and it's from a Cuttlebug embossing folder Asian package hmm about 5 years old, and I think there are a few more in the package I haven't used too. Here is my creation.

The stamp I used is from Penny Black, I stamped, coloured and fussy cut it out and mounted it on a wobble, if I could figure out how to use my video on the camera I could show you how it worked. I found the congratulations paper on Pinterest and printed it on blue cardstock and use a stitched oval from Impression Obsessions.

Sentiment was computer generated from Verses for Cards.

Stand up and be Counted !!! is Challenge #266 at Shopping Our Stash

Tuesday again and it's a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash ~~ Stand up and Be Counted!! use numbers on your project. Two weeks ago I knew what I was going to use for my card but until today I had no clue what I was going to do with it until I saw the sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2~96 and knew it was perfect for the challenge.

Of course I had to use my Art Impressions Girlfriends stamp and sentiment. I had some vellum with white numbers printed on it (I didn't stamp that myself) I attached it with some tiny button brads to the cardstock. The patterned paper has been in my stash at least a year but those brads have been there forever, I have them in several colours. I'm such a hoarder.

I see a tad bit of touch up is needed on the sentiment, I also glossed her glasses with Glossy Accents

Finished inside.

I would like to enter:

Seize the Birthday  Anything Goes (as long as it isn't closed already) Missed it!!!

Thanks for spending time here today now find those hoarded numbers, number paper or a sentiment with a number on it and join the fun at Shopping Our Stash. Don't forget to head over to the blog to see what "numbers" are on the design team projects.

Summery Bright Christmas!!

I had fun picking some summery colours and Christmas paper for this August Challenge at Christmas Cards All Year 'Round. I think this is Holiday Card #56 so I still have a ways to go, I lost my ticker tape and haven't put it back on the blog yet. I won a prize for July at Christmas Cards all Year 'Round that was exciting. I'm so glad they have the blog started up again.  Here is my offering for the challenge.

I made a cute Shaker card (again)  although I need to put a sentiment on the front yet, I have limited supplies at the cottage. I didn't want to gussy it up too much I wanted the window to be the focal point. The stamp I used is from a Christmas set from Stampin'up which is long retired but this image is perfect for the window card. I used clear and blue beads in the shaker.

Blue and clear beads in the window.

Finished inside using a left over scrap of patterned paper and a Stampin'up verse

Shake, Shake, Shake that Christmas Shaker card!!!

I'm warning you it's going to be an influx of Christmas cards, only 3 1/2 months until I need my ticker tape filled or overflowing. Since this is the week I have lots of time to make cards at the lake I'm going to take advantage of it. Again I used my favourite ~~ House Mouse Designs, I have a lot more Christmas stamps than I thought I had when I went searching for something to bring with me, The one I picked is Stocking full of Love featuring Amanda and Maxwell.

After I coloured the stocking (which btw looks great in blue too) I had no real plan on what I was going to do with it. I decided a 5 X 5 square card and because the die cut fancy square was too large for the cut image I decided to make a frame well once I had the frame cut it then became a shaker.

Red beads from Dollarama were perfect but fun to corral

It's Tuesday and Time for a NEW Challenge at Shopping Our Stash

/I think we scared you last week with the Card Shark challenge, perhaps challenge 265 at Shopping Our Stash will be a bit easier it`s What`s the Good Word!!! Use word dies.  Easy enough I have a fabulous Impression Obsession holiday die that`s perfect for the challenge, here is what I did.

White on white with a splash of colour is great for holiday cards, I cut the season`s greetings out of red mirror paper placed it on an oval and popped it up on the fancy oval die cut which was cut out of while shimmer cardstock.

Finished the inside with a Stampendous sentiment.

I also made one in shiny green and vanilla shimmer cardstock

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the main challenge blog and see what word dies the rest of the design team have made.

Red, Black and Kraft are great colours for one more Holiday Card!!!

I just love playing with my House Mouse stamps and I found a colour challenge that was fabulous, Red, Black and Kraft. I just happen to have a paper pad from American Crafts called Hot Cocoa, I've been hoarding it too.  Although the background paper was a paper pack I got as a gift but it matched the theme.

Although you can't see it well the base is kraft I then added  a thin layer of black as to pop the striped paper. The sketch is Mojo Monday sketch challenge #461, I just got it this morning in my e-mail and was perfect for my image from House Mouse Designs called Mint Nibbler.

I added some star dust stickles to the mint

Finished the front with a Stampendous Class "A" sticker sentiment.

Challenges I'm entering:

The 12 Months of Christmas link up #20 Christmas confectionery.

Here We Go Again!!! More Christmas Cards......

I'm a bit behind on my count of my Christmas cards, I need to go count them again to know how many more I need to add to the  ticker-tape. As always I am joining the Jingle Belles for their challenge "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" which translates to USE RED and lots of it!!! Before I left the house to come to the cottage I grabbed a bunch of my House Mouse Christmas stamps to use and Candy Gram was one of them.

Featuring Maxwell and Amanda and patterned paper from KaiserCraft.

Finished inside with a Stampendous sentiment.

Fluffles has a Birthday Bouquet

I have  quite a few Fluffles stamps, they are retired now but were sold by Stampendous, every once in a while I dig one out to create with.  I found the sketch in a pile of printed sketches  it was from Mojo Monday quite a few weeks ago but it worked great for the the challenge at Catch the Bug blog. Bugaboo is on hiatus until August 20, the challenge is open until then. Since my image was already coloured it worked perfect for Seize the Birthday ~~ Pink & Brown.  Here is what I created.

One of my favourite colour combos is Pink and Brown and the patterned paper worked well as it is several shades of pink and the background is brown. I also distressed the pink and brown layers.

Close up of the image.

Finished inside, I used the paws border punch on a scrap of patterned paper.

I would like to enter this in:

Catch the bug July Recipe: three patterned paper, distressed edges and a Tag (I used two banners)

Paper Piecing Christmas Trees.....

I checked out the ABC Christmas Challenge Blog ~~ P is for paper piecing and I thought, hmm I can do that, I found the perfect stamp from the Artful Stamper that I picked up at an Estate Sale. It makes a perfect image for paper piecing with the exception it's a lot of fussy cutting.  If I hurry I can also put it in for the Jingle Belles Rock We three kings to use multiples of three, thus three paper pieced trees and it closes in 2 hours. I haven't made a shaped card for eons, I can't remember the last one I made but here it is.

I used my two fisker's star punches for the stars and added the rhinestones to the circles on the trees and the ones in the background.

finished the inside with a couple of layers and a sentiment.

I am adding this to:

ABC Christmas Challenge   P is for Paper Piecing

Jingle Belles Rock   We Three Kings

Thanks for visiting today and I have one more Christmas card for my collection.

It's Tuesday!!! Time for a New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!!

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #264 ~~ Card Shark!!! Now this is a real challenge, I was so stressed over how to do this challenge I almost forgot (probably intentional) that I had to make it. After the stress of the challenge at SoSS I really didn't want to deal with this one. If I thought ahead (like when I'm at home where my stuff is) I would be much better ahead. I brought one thing with me for the challenge and that was Tim Holtz poker face embossing folders, they are ATC size. I have embossed them on kraft core paper and sanded them but of course it was not in my mind to bring it with me. Since we are supposed to be using up what we have I decided just to make a playing card.  Here is what I came up with.

I embossed the Queen of hearts added the red to the hearts and Q then went over the lines with a silver pen to give it some detail.

This is the back of the playing card I drew myself and coloured with pens I found at a yard sale, don't be too judgmental as this is my first attempt and I really need practice.

don't look too closely please.

what I used to make my playing card.

Thanks for stopping by and head over to Shopping Our Stash for the rules and to see what the rest of the design team have done with their Card Shark challenge.

I'm late to the party....sorry Edna

I had a very busy week and just couldn't get my crap together to get my card done in time for the unveiling Saturday morning but better late than never I say,

Ok, I'm just warning you now. If you are offended at off color humor, or
if the kiddies are around, you may want to either skip this post or come
back to it later.

You've been warned.
so proceed at your own risk.

It's a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers # 65 I is for Inappropriate. Don't forget to stop by the main blog check out the rules and see how much more inappropriate the rest of the team is.

Image found on pinterest saying is hubby's quote I had a couple more Chris, found for me and I liked one of them too, it was  It's not about the peeing it's all about the message. The patterned paper is from Forever in Time 6X6 paper pad from the $$ store.

The quote looks like I was in  a hurry to get this printed and get back to the cottage.

Isn't he a cute little puppy.

Thanks for stopping by today.
