It's a Rudolph Days Card!!

Almost the end of June and I was scrambling to get my card done for the June Rudolph Days, I planned on an longer trip to the cottage this time and as always I never have all the equipment I need, not sure why I didn't think I needed sentiments but didn't have any, I also know when colouring small things I like my spica glitter pens, alas they are home so with some improvising I made a card.

I used a favourite company stamp, House Mouse Designs, it is a newer one for me and first time inking it up. Everything is flat attached and is a very mailable card.

As you see I did have one sentiment I could use for the inside of the card,

I'm adding this to:

O is for Ombre

Hello there my crafty friends and not so crafty ones too, Happy you can join the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for a NEW challenge, I will give Edna the honour of introducing the theme.

Now there are many ways to create an Ombre project and the Design team has created many of them for your inspiration. For my mini slimline card I chose to make an ombre background.

4 distress oxide ink were used to make my ombre background, I wanted a tranquil look for the yoga cat, I kept colouring to a minimum with a couple of grey shades and used the Namaste to ground him  while he is doing a modified tree pose.

close up of the sentiment on the front and now the piece de resistance .....

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the different Ombre techniques the rest of my teamies have done.

Sentimentally Yours....

A new challenge is happening at Shopping Our Stash!!  Sentimentally Yours, you know what that means we want the sentiment to be up frnt and center and it can take over the whole project. Lots of great large stamps and dies so dig through you stash and make one of them up front and center!!!

Here is my up front and center sentimentally yours card, I had trouble deciding on which one of my large birthday dies to use but chose this one as I know it is a NBUS I have had for many months and never been out of the packaging. Patterned paper and cardstock is pre-covid and the rhinestones are way older than that.

Here is a side view to show the elevation of the sentiment. I die cut 2 regular cardstock and 2 heavy 110 lb. weight cardstock and glued them together.

Finished inside of the card using a IO sentiment and a couple of pieces of paper.

I am adding this to:

Creeper

Hello crafty peeps, I finally made a "non-design team card", it is for my 6 year old great grandson's birthday which was June13th (today as I'm writing this)  It's hard to come up with a card when children are not involved in sports so I had a choice of a video gaming card or a Zombie card, the creeper card won as I couldn't locate my one an only zombie. I found the instructions HERE for the card on Pinterest.

I just happened to have the square lattice embossing folder (retired SU) and a one inch square punch. I still had 2 pieces of Gable Green SU cardstock left to use as well for the Z Fold card.

Very hard to take a good picture of a Z fold card, I used a Hero Arts Birthday sentiment for the inside and a Birthday sentiment from a retired SU set for the banner.

Here is an overhead shot of the Z fold card.

I would like to add this to:

Seize the Birthday ~~ #263 put a sentiment on a banner (I hope inside sentiment qualifies)

Thanks for looking today and have a crafty week.

C is for Critters

Another two weeks has sped by and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers has a new challenge and who better to announce the theme but Edna!!

Look at Edna in her animal print surrounded by CRITTERS.

Here is what I was inspired to make.

I decided to go with a Holiday card as I seem to be falling behind on my plan for making at least 5 per month and the Jingle Belles challenge was a perfect place to get my idea for a card.  I made a mini slimline card which measures 3 1/4 X 6 1/4 it seemed the perfect size for one snaky coffee toting cat. I fussy cut the image and the present flat attached the present and his feet but popped the ret of the image.

Finished the inside with ha Hero Arts sentiment.

I am adding this to:

Jingle Belles Rock Challenge ~~ A (Masculine) Caffeinated Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the MAIN BLOG and see what critters the rest of the team has chosen to feature.

Let's Hear it for the Boys!!

It's a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and it's Let's Hear it for the Boys!!  Create a project featuring a man or a masculine card for one of the men or boys in your life. So far in the last couple of weeks I've made 2 masculine cards one for a son and the other for a grandson and this challenge is made for my eldest grandson who is a coffee lover, and I still have two more to get ready, one for the youngest grandson and one for my great grandson. It does feel good to know I am keeping up with the family birthdays.

I have a few favourite fun folds and this triangle easel card is one of them, it looks complicated but it isn't. I used a Karen Burniston 1040 Coffee Pop-up set from 2017 the instructions are for a inside pop-up which I made last year or maybe the year before. The patterned paper is from Stampin'up and well over 5 years old and there are now just a few scraps left.  The sentient on the coffee cup is from Photoplay (a gift from a friend)

Here is the 5 1/2 inch square card when it is folded flat ready for mailing.

I'm entering this in:

Cardz 4 Guyz ~~ #323 Lots of Layer

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the MAIN BLOG and check out that great cards the design team have made for the "boys".

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge for June.

How can it be June already? And we are having Summer weather and I am not happy that it is the high 20s and it feels hotter. So what can you do during a heatwave? well here is an idea to cool off ~~ get started on your Christmas/Holiday cards. Make a snowy scene, stamp a snowman, make it into a snowball fight then add it to the Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge, If you don't want to use the option of make a scene then just go with the Anything Goes option.

I love making scenes with cute penguins, adorable gnomes and even a few snarky cats but this time I went for soft and pretty.

Turquoise and Pink are my favourite non-traditional colours for Christmas so I inked the flatter side of a 3D folder with distress oxide inks, spritzed it with water and added regular white cardstock to it and rolled it through the big shot, I loved the way it pooled in spots. I attached it to a turquoise layer and on a white top fold base. To finish it as a scene I cut two stags out of white glued them together flat attached the feet and popped the body of the stag up. I couldn't decide on a sentiment, I wish I had a "peaceful" die cut.

A bit of a closeup to show the 3D effect and how the stag is elevated.

Thanks for stopping by today and how to see your new holiday card in our gallery.
