Out With The Old In With The New!!

Hello and welcome to the first challenge of the New Year at Shopping Our Stash, the theme is to combine some old and some not so old or never been used items on your project. On my card I used a 3 layer floral die set I bought in 2019 and never even took it out of the packages. I will admit it was because it is not an A2 size and it isn't an A7 either it's somewhere in between so I "bit the bullet" and now I have to make an envelope to size.

The die set is from Nellie's Choice and I have had it since 2019, I used shades of purple cardstock and cut the base to fit. I chose a simple Happy Birthday stamp and die set. I am debating on putting some gems or pearls in the centers of the flowers, what do you think.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fabulous new year.

Do You See What I See? ~~ I see a Narwal

Finally I managed to get my second card done for the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge ~~ I can see Clearly Now. have a clear element on your project, my first I went half clear but went a bit smaller this time. I'm hoping I have time for a third and get back on track with my personal quota.

I started with a trio of cover plate dies and attached them to a navy top fold base. The adorable Narwal was coloured with alcohol markers flat attached to a circle of distress oxide inked paper. I addded some clear beads then used a shaker card pouch from Impression Obsession (many, many years old, only one left now) then cut a scalloped frame to cover the edge of the pouch (they never go on straight for me) The sentiment is from the set and te Holiday die is one of my new sentient dies, I loved the font on this set and can you ever have too many sentiment dies?

Close up of that darling little Narwal in his winter scarf.

finished the inside with a couple of scraps of the water coloured inked paper and an Impression Obsession holiday sentimente.

I'm adding this to:

I Can See Clearly Now....

My card for today started out with an idea to use a die cut bauble for Christmas Kickstart, then I remembered it's the last day of the month for Rudolph days, so thought a double challenge well thinking about my design I grabbed some left over acetate ( left over from making ethe great-grands Valentines) to make a clear card, and that is the challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock so now added another challenge to a card, rarely do I combine challenges with one card but it just sort of worked out that way. ABC Christmas challenge is also in the mix...D is for Diecuts. I just can't believe it took me all day to put it together, well 75% of the time is always looking for that one die or stamp that is in the "safe" place.

I die cut this three piece die set at least 1 year ago but I'm thinking 2 or more I made tags and cards as I cut it three times, the snowflake section I used last year. The acetate was cut 4 1/4 X 6 scored at 5.5 and folded and taped to the patterned cardstock from Dollarama. The circle is flat attached and the snow flake is popped up. Since I didn't locate Merry Christmas I used Tis the Season Die.

I added a bit of patterned cardstock to the  base of the acetate for stability I will add an extra piece of cardstock to the back of the card for the sentiment and to make it more stable.

Close up of the focal point I added starform glitter dots to the snowflake tips and center .

Because of timing I am adding this to 4 challenges.

Beautiful Baubles

Well only one beautiful bauble but I managed to get another card done for the Jingle Belles Challenge, using a rather large "snippit" I found in an envelope while unpacking a few things,

This was made with leftovers from the first time I cut the die and I cut all three of them three times, so had lots of pieces to keep track of. I use one set on a csrd and the center from this one for a tag you can see it HERE. I layered it on some sparkly cardstock and added a ornament topper from another die set, I tried to get a picture of the card that when you look down at it the snowflake looks like it's floating.

Finished the inside with some navy cardstock and silver lines from Hot off the Press.

I am entering this in:

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are Guest Elves at Christmas Kickstart!!!

Time for a new challenge at Christmas Kickstart and I'm one of the guest elves for this challenge.  Alas even being a snarky sister my card has no snark.

My inspiration for my card came from Pi
nterest offering me some pins I might be interested it, and one was perfect and I had the perfect set of dies to make it. So here it it.

Very simple but lots of picky gluing. I used a ornament embossing folder I received in a Christmas bundle from Cuttlebug. The ornament was cut in three colours although it's hard to see the very dark green on the base cut. The bow is from Pretty Pines set (I like tis bow it's the perfect size. The colours are handsome hunter, garden green and certainly celery. I elevated the ornament to for dimension.

Finished the inside with some stamped ornaments from a set I have never used from Stampin'up.  I am not sure why I have never used it before but I knew I had it to use. I use a glitter pen to draw the strings for the ornaments. The sentiment is one of my older ones but well used, from Impression Obsession.

You have a month to enter the challenge at Christmas Kickstart, don't forget to head over there and check out the rest of the Sisters cards. (some have snark)

Thanks for stopping by today and it's been fun guesting for Jo's challenge.

Dashing through the Snow with the Jingle Belles

Only one hour left for the challenge but I just got this triple die set and it has a snowflake on it and just had to make it up for the challenge.  I had two birthday cards to finish before I could even start it too.  It was a lot of fun cutting, poking and separating into envelopes as it was all three dies of all three colours.

I chose two blues and white for the design, Let it Snow was cut three times to give it dimension and is from Elizabeth Craft Designs  One rhinestone in the center of the snowflake.

Closer look at the layers.
