Challenge #189 at Shopping Our Stash is From A Jar!!

Looking for my Clear it Out post….scroll down or click HERE.

You can use anything that is from a jar,  embossing powder, silks acrylic shimmer paint (I have some) twinkling H20s, and what I used is Perfect Pearls or you can just use a jar on your project. check out what the rest of the Design team has done for your inspiration…they knocked it out of the park on this one Head over to Shopping Our Stash check out the rules and see what the rest of the design team has done for your inspiration, they knocked this one out of the ball park!!!

As I said I used perfect pearls I decided to use them because they have been on the shelf for years feeling really sad. Those are the jars of powder I used and I see the brush as well. It was hard to catch the shimmer but there are more pictures perhaps one of them will show it better. I use versamark watermark ink to stamp the image on black cardstock then layered it on silver/black silver/black, wow lot’s of layers.

This one shows it a little better
IMG_2719
This was one of my first sentiments I bought and use it for many occasions.

Another angle on the 4 X 4 notecard.
IMG_2721
I tried another picture to see if it was better but I think you get the idea on how shimmery it is.
I was having trouble designing this until I decided to make the image the focal point of a note card.
Thanks for visiting today and I am looking forward to seeing your ideas for the Out of the Jar challenge.

Let’s see some Animals!!!

The challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday is Animals the stash item you must use on your project is Striped papers easy peasy right?  The sponsor for the challenge is Doodle Pantry, they have awesome images and the one I picked is Kitten Trio,
IMG_2702
I sized the image fairly large as I wanted it to take up a large part of the front. This set has a lot of different images and sayings it is sure worth the trip to the store to look at their images, they are cute and reasonable and you can even get a freebie when you purchase.
IMG_2703
Closer look at the kitten’s face.
IMG_2704
Just like our children our pets become part of our household and I thought this was perfect to give to a friend that has adopted a cat/kitten.
Thanks for stopping by today and let’s what animal is your favourite, don’t forget to use striped papers.

Mid challenge time for B stands for Bear

For this week I decided to make a Christmas card, with all the snow we have around here I thought it might be coming soon. lol. Here is what I made…….
IMG_2713
If there is a prize for using scraps I will get it for this card, the only full piece is the ridinghood red cardstock, all other pieces were in my scrap box. I coloured this super cute Coco Bear image with SN and copics added white opal liquid pearls to the hat and the foam and used star dust sitckles on the icicle drips on the cup> I fussy cut the image out and popped it up on the patterned paper. Punched snowflakes and added rhinestones.
IMG_2714
Close up of the image, I punched a vellum snowflake for the cup.
IMG_2715
The finished inside of the card using my favourite vertical sentiment.

SoSS # 28 A is for Accident

Challenge #28 A is for Accident
The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge you to make a Get Well Card. If Edna looks like this wonder what the other fellow looks like? Awesome picture of Edna thanks to our Tech. Guru Lee. Although it might have been a fun challenge to go snarky I resisted and made a cute one.
IMG_2699
I used a House Mouse Designs wood block stamp (you can get it in cling too) called Colour me Better with Muzzy and Monica. I made a frame with Resplendent  Rectangles and embossed the layer.
IMG_2700
I love to use my cute critters when I get a chance and this one is a favourite of all the get well ones I have. They are just like having chips, you can’t just have one.
IMG_2701
I seem to have very few get well sentiments, I stamped this one on the piece that was left after I cut the frame.

I am entering this in:

Challenge # 189 Inspired by a Movie

Looking for my Clear it Out post, scroll down or click HERE.
Shopping Our Stash has been inspired by movies and wants you to make a project inspired by a movie and tell us which one as we might not be able to guess it or we might be too young or too old to know it. A while ago I won a gift certificate from the Paper Shelter and saw an image that would work perfect for this challenge, it is called The Time of My Life. My favourite movie is Dirty Dancing. I was a little pressed for time this weekend and used the pre-coloured image for my card.
IMG_2697
I saw the new sketch at Sweet Sunday sketch challenge # 256, It seems to happen quite often that a sketch comes to my e-mail in the morning I’m working on a card and it usually works with my image.
IMG_2698
I had the perfect stamp for the sentiment on this card and it didn’t take me too long to find it either.

Challenge #188 at Shopping Our Stash is TP or not TP?

Looking for my Clear it Out post, scroll down or click HERE.

Intriguing isn’t it, Shopping Our Stash would like you to use your toilet paper or paper towel design as inspiration for your project or you can use either on your project. There are lots of tutorials out there for using them. I had an idea but it required a brayer and unfortunately it has found a hiding spot that I haven’t located. So I went with the design from the toilet paper. Here is my card for the TP or not TP challenge.
IMG_2673
The base is white, the layer is white and I scored it every 1/8th inch then placed it in the mosaic embossing folder and put it through the cuttlebug. The butterfly is a Fancy Die from Hero Arts and the first time I have used it. I added the pink glitter paper behind the wings and the clear rhinestones from my stash. finished it off with the narrow pink ribbon.
     IMG_2675          IMG_2674
On the right is my background, it is white not cream on the left is the pattern on the toilet paper.
Thanks for stopping by today and let’s see your idea of TP or not TP!!

It’s Challenge Time at Clear it Out Tuesday!!!

Hello again family, friends and followers it’s time for a NEW challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday. Wow there were a lot of fabulous entries for the last challenge, good luck to any of you that entered. The sponsor for this challenge is Digital Paper Craft. This is a new sponsor so head over and have a look at what super cute images they have.  I picked a cute boy image, I haven’t been picking  boy images but now I have a great grandson to make cards for, he is 5 and loves everything I make him. I had a real mental block this weekend while trying to craft and after I coloured him up I had no idea what to do so fussy cut the image out and it progressed from there. Challenge #65’s Theme is RED and the stash item is RED things. Now on to my card.
IMG_2667
The base is Ridinghood Red as I think it goes nicely with the grey patterned paper from the Green Stack from DCWV. Crystal Effects on his glasses, red buttons and rickrack are my stash and I googled soccer balls and printed this one, punched it out and several more circles so it pops.
IMG_2668
Close up of the adorable image.
IMG_2669
Again the top note die and some pattern paper scraps finishes the inside.
Thanks for spending some time here and check out the rules at CIOT while you are there have a look at the great cards the design team has made for your inspiration.

Challenge #187 at Shopping Our Stash~~Getting Inky

Looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post, scroll down or click HERE.
Another week another challenge at Shopping Our Stash, this one is a lot of fun, all you have to do is use your OLDEST INK.  I have been crafting for a long time and my oldest ink is about 14 or 15 years old, actually there are two bought at the same time and because I bought them at the Butterfly Moon they get re-inked free when they need it.  Along with the versa color #57 old rose and #91 Gold I used some dollar store faux mulberry paper that’s about as old. Even the stamps I used are a couple of the earlier stamps I bought.
IMG_2656
I stamped the “three step tulips” on the thin paper and left them sit for several days to completely dry as the versa color ink is a pigment ink and would pick up the gold embossing powder when I embossed the Hero Arts butterfly. I made the gold layer to match the gold of the butterflies.
IMG_2654
As you see I grabbed a negative cut from a top note die cut and covered it with versamark and gold embossing powder. It was a trick I learned from taking a class at the Butterfly Moon.
