Challenge #117 at The Cheerful Stamp Pad is ~~~ Anything Goes!!!

The new challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad is Anything goes. It's the most favourite of all the challenges. The sponsor for this challenge is Little Blue Button Stamps, check out the blog and the store they have some really cute images. For the first week of the challenge I picked a super cute girl drinking a hot coffee/tea. I thought it looked like a nice friendship/thinking of you card. So have a peek at what I have done.

Now isn't she the cutest digi ever? I thought it looked like she was thinking about the friend she was going to send the card to. this is a different fold I wanted to try, It is a tri-fold you will see how it works in the next picture.

It is similar to a Z fold but it is taller at the back than at the front but fits in a A2 envelope.

These are the two sentiments I chose to put on the inside. Question do you think they look too much "birthday" or do you think it could be used just to perk someone up?  Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks for stopping by today and get busy and join the Anything Goes challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.

Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend ~~~ use bling!!!

Looking for my Clear it Out Post scroll down or click HERE.

Welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend which means to use BLING....do we need a reason to use "bling"? No it comes natural to any card/project/scrapper. Head over to the main blog and check out the rules and see all the bling laden projects the DT has made.

I used a digi from Lacy Sunshine I have had printed for a while now and decided it would go well with this challenge The sketch I used is from The Crooked Stamper Sketch 6, unfortunately is closed now but I love the sketch. I used a black base which is 4 X 6, it is a package I bought at the $$ store and comes with black envelopes too, the bling and the patterned paper is also from the Dollar Stop in Simcoe ON.

Semi finished inside of the card.

It was another hot day in SWO, the family came to the cottage today and brought burgers and buns and dessert. I picked up corn on the cob and tomatoes from the road side stand, nothing like farm fresh produce.  While the "kids" were at the beach  I stayed in the cottage with the fan and  I managed to get a card made while they were out.

Thanks for stopping by today and dig out that bling and join the challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

What Time is it? It's Challenge Time at Clear it Out Tuesday!!!

Clear it Out Tuesday's crew are back with a NEW challenge!!! The Theme is ONE LAYER and the stash item is ...........Washi Tape.  Many of you are experience in one layer cards but not me, I struggle with them, I just want to pile it on. Now washi tape I normally don't have a clue how to use it, I see so many fabulous cards using it in unusual ways,..just check out what the design team has done with their one layer washi tape cards and you will see what I mean,  The sponsor for the challenge is Melonheadz Illustrating and I used one of the super cute little girl digis.

I scored a frame 1/2 inch around the edge and another scoring 1 inch which framed the image, I added the floral washi tape in between the two score lines, I added three tiny butterflies to the corner.

A close up of the face and the washi tape I added a pink rhinestone to her barrette.

I did finish the inside of the card but I was in a hurry to take the pictures (as my camera keeps asking me to change the batteries) and it was too blurry to post and I was to lazy to take another picture.

Thanks for stopping by today and I would love to see your one layer card but best of all I want some new ideas on how to use Washi tape.

New Challenge at SoSS ~~~ S is for Shaker!!

Welcome to a new Saturday challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ~~ S is for Shaker.  Have you ever made a shaker card? if not there are oodles of tutorials on them so go find one or if you have ventured to the "adventurous" side already pick your favourite and let's see some shake, shake shaker cards.  As you know I spend a lot of time at the cottage and if I ever bring everything I need to make a card it will be a miracle, I even make lists and miss some things,  I have had these dies and stamp set since last fall and finally had a chance to used them.

I finally used some sequins, wasn't sure about putting then around the image but it looks OK, I have been so sequin challenged, I really haven't a clue working with them.

Finished inside.

Hearts and Flowers challenge continues at The Cheerful Stamp Pad

Happy Friday and welcome back to the second week of the  Hearts and Flowers challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.  The sponsor is Floppy Latte at Stitchy Bear Outlet, check out the fabulous digis they have to offer as well as many other artists. The digi I used is called Shaded Flower and I printed it fairly large and fussy cut it out after I coloured with copics.

I decided I needed to get out of the pink/blue/turquoise rut and I used yellow, now it's not one of my go to colours but I am so pleased as to how nice it turned out.  After colouring the image I fussy cut it out and added it to the daffodil delight base that is covered with a lattice die cut from Couture Creations.

The "tied together" die cut is in champagne stardream paper and this shows the tiny heart and
 Happy Birthday die cut.

Not a good picture as I was fighting the ambitious breeze.

Challenges I would like to enter this in:

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your weekend.

I had to make Sympathy cards a while back, I prefer to make Thinking of you cards and I also want to make them as personal as I can so they are never made ahead, which means I need an easy design. I have a couple of sets that work well, Thoughts and Prayers from Stampin'up is my favourite.  A couple of my friends didn't get to see my card and I said I would blog it when I had time.  So here is my Sympathy card.

I layered white on white with the one layer embossed with a cherry blossom embossing folder from the Cuttlebug Asian collection. I decided to make this very simple in black and white. If you don't have a butterfly die a simple bow would look nice on the stem.

I carried the simple design from the front to the inside.

Thanks for visiting today come back again soon, you are always welcome.

Shopping Our Stash #211 Don't get Stressed, get De-Stressed.

Looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post scroll down or click HERE

What do you do when you get "Stressed" , Shopping Our Stash would like you to make a project that shows how you "De-Stress". Some might take a long walk or a lavender bubble bath I love to colour I can tune everything out as I pick the colours for the image I'm using, it's my form of meditation.  I also enjoy relaxing at the cottage on Lake Erie, although the weekends are very busy and noisy during the week is awesome.

The background was a failed product from an earlier challenge, it looked good but not what I had planned. It was a Copic/Alcohol technique but on a stardream paper instead of shiny cardstock.

The inside of the card with a top note and get well wish

Thanks for stopping by today and join the fun and show us how you "De-stress"

New Challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday ~~ Holiday ~~ Summer Break

Clear it Out Tuesday's challenge Theme is Holiday and the holiday is Summer Break the stash item is Ribbon.  So head to the craft room and dig through the rolls and rolls of ribbon and find one you want to hi-light. The sponsor for the challenge is SLS lines Stamps. The image I used is just sitting with her cat thinking about how it's half way through Summer Break.

I believe the colours I used are Bermuda Bay and the patterned paper is from the $$ store.

Close up to show the ribbon and the butterflies, that embosslet has been missing for a long time and I found it when I sorted my books I was very excited as I had never used it,

Here is the inside, it is blank as I haven't decided the sentiments yet.

Thanks for visiting today and have an awesome week.

How about some Hearts and Flowers!!

It's a NEW challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad ~~ Hearts and Flowers please use both. The sponsor for this challenge is Floppy Latte at Stitchy Bear Outlet.  We were given some awesome images to play with for the challenge and I chose Flowers on Lattice digi, this image can be used for almost any occasion which is why I have left the sentiments off it. I can see me using this digi over and over it's fab.

I used the sketch from  the Crooked Stamper Sketch Challenge #6 but flipped it horizontal, and used a rectangle for the image. Pink Grey and black go so well together and the patterned paper is from Walmart. I saw the black butterfly on my craft table so just thought it would add some interest to that corner,

Close up  to show how pretty the flowers are and the butterfly too.

Thanks for stopping by today and lets see  your Hearts AND Flowers.

Looking for my Clear it Out post scroll down or click HERE.

I hope you enjoyed the challenge last week, this week is just as much fun! I have not done a lot of paper piecing but I think it is a fun challenge. For me is was a bit of fussy cutting and a lot of  poking the bits out of the die cut. Head over to Shopping Our Stash check out the rules (you have to have them you know) while you are there see what the other design team members have pieced together.

The image I used is from Art Impressions Golden Oldies, I paper pieced her dress with some older paper from Stampin up, the frame is Spellbinders A2 Filigree Delight.

I glazed up her glasses and glittered the earrings and bracelets.

The first sentiment is from Art Impressions Girlfriends and the Happy Birthday from SU.

Thanks for stopping by today and get out those scissors and start paper piecing, you know you want to try it.

Clear it Out Tuesday Challenge ~~~ Purple

Clear  it Out Tuesday's challenge is a colour challenge and the colour is Purple the stash items is Purple things. Purple is my favourite colour so this challenge wasn't too hard for me. Bugaboo Stamps is the sponsor for the challenge.

As you can see I hit the best time to take a picture outside on the porch,  Adorable image and fabulous to colour. My stash items are purple button, purple/white baker's twine and lots of die-cuts. I added a couple of tiny pearls one for her earring and one on the necklace.

Close up you can see the pearls and how sweet the image is.

Finished inside with a flourish and a purple button.

SOS Challenge #209 ~~~ Gingham Style

Looking for my Clear it Out post scroll down or click HERE.

Shopping Our Stash has a fabulously awesome challenge, Gingham Style - use checkers, checks or squares on your project. I had a great idea for the challenge unfortunately what I planned didn't work but I persevered and managed to come up with something I liked. I found some gingham buttons at a yard sale on Saturday and just had to incorporate at least one on my card.

Although you can't really see it well the scalloped oval and the border is shiny card stock. You will see a lot of Birthday cards in the next while as I have 12 birthdays this month.

Now isn't this button adorable? I just had to use it even if there is no other pink on the card.

I thought the little mousie is making a Birthday cake so I used this cute sentiment on the inside.

Challenges I would like to enter:
Stella Says Sketch #311  I flipped the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week.

Christmas in July? no that's not the Challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday......

I printed the image twice and popped up the hat,  part of the bottom penguin and the feet of the top penguin all were fussy cut. the sentiment is from the same digi package.

I was hoping that this showed how it was elevated.

I finished the inside with the second sentiment that came with the set

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you find time to join us at Clear it Out for the ATG challenge and stop by DeeDee's digis and check out the super cute digi sets.

A New Joint Challenge from The Cheerful Stamp Pad and Lunagirl Moonbeams Challenge Blogs.

We at The Cheerful Stamp Pad are joining with Lunagirl Moonbeams for a challenge of Marie Antionette, The sponsor is Lunagirl Digital Images take a look at what they have to offer.  I picked a collage sheet that had fancy portraits, they were the perfect size for ATCs (artist trading cards)

First I trimmed the image and added some spica glitter pen to the flowers, layered it on a scrap of gold that was on my desk. The base of the ATC is a Fleur dis lis die-cut from spellbinders then finished it with a couple of pearls (also on the desk) sure glad I had so much stuff on my desk or this wouldn't have gone as quick as it did. (struggling still with the Friday deadline)

Close up of the lovely collage image

Thanks for visiting today and don't forget if you have a project to add to The Cheerful Stamp Pad you can also add it to Lunagirl Moonbeams so you have a two chances to win.

Happy Canada Day!!!

I signed up for a Canada Day Cards blog hop....lots of prizes too at Paper Garden  head over there and look at all the Canada Day cards some bloggers have made and vote for your favourite one too. My idea was to use my Canada Day stamp from High Hopes, I think it's retired now but it wasn't in the drawer with my cling mount stamps or on the stand that holds some too I probably took it to the lake last year and it's still in a box that has not been unpacked. So  went for a second idea and just used red.

I have made an A2 center step card and a poppy stamp I punched 6 maple leaves to add to the sides of the card.
Here is the Canada Day image I used in 2011

I am adding this to Canada Day Cards at Paper Garden

Thanks for visiting on this July 1st holiday and now I would like you to leave a comment (please) and then go to this LINK and VOTE for the card you like (hope it's mine) There are prizes.WooHoo.
