Baby It's Cold Outside!!

Hello fellow crafters, I'm finally slipping in with a card for the current (soon to end) challenge at Christmas Kickstart. When I saw the prompt "Brimming with Style" which means Hats I knew I had the perfect House Mouse image to make a winter card. Thank goodness we have finally passed (fingers crossed) the need for winter hats, bring on the face shading straw hats. So here is my card for the challenge.

Being a Winter card I decided to use my favourite colour....Purple I like non-traditional colours for Christmas as well. The sentiment is a wood block stamp from Impression Obsession/

Finished the inside with a Stampendous Cling Mount Sentiment stamp.

I Don't Sweat, I Sparkle

Welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash the prompt is to create a card with lots of sparkle, glitter, gems etc. Well I wasn't in the mood for loose glitter and with a cat that needs to be supervising that would be a disaster so I dug out a 6 X 6 pad that has glitter sheets and mirror cardstock I picked up at Dollarama and of course when you say glittery it spells Holiday card which I add to my 2026 holiday stash.

I made a 5 1/2 inch square card I use Elizabeth Craft Designs snowflake trio dies, I cut the large snowflake out of the glitter cardstock and the small one out of aqua mirror cardstock which I popped up and added an aqua gem. the snowflake was then flat attached to the white layer which was embossed with a Stampin'up softly falling embossing folder which was added to the glitter and a premade square base. I added the word JOY (found it in my bits box) just so the recipient knows which end is up.

I different angle to show the glitter

Finished the inside with a scrap of glitter cardstock and a very ancient wood mount stamp from the Artful Stamper.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the Main Blog and see what the rest of the team have glittered I hope you will be inspired to join the "I Don't Sweat, I Sparkle" challenge.

A Quick Thank You

Hello and glad you are here to check out the new challenge at Shopping Our Stash which is to make a quick thank you card in under 30 minutes, don't forget to time yourself.  Since I seldom make CAS cards mine took the full 30 minutes, I probably could have stopped the clock while I washed the glue off my fingers.

I haven't made an eclipse card in a long time and I hoped I could manage the 30 min time challenge. The first thing that makes a quick card is dies, second is a fabulous winter paper pad with gorgeous scenes. There is nothing on this card that is over 2 years old.

A better look at the eclipse element.

Thanks for visiting today and check out the fantastic quick cards the rest of the gang at Shopping Our Stash have made,  then get your timer out and see if you can do it!!

Did Someone See a Winter Dragon?

Finally found time to play along with the Jingle Belles, the heat here at the cottage (not a breeze to be found) has been brutal and made it hard to craft, everything I touched stuck to my fingers but I got it done.

Before I show you my card I will show you the great sketch that Stephanie did for the challenge.

Here is my take on the sketch

I used a Lawn Fawn stamp & die set I got on sale  3 years ago I am very happy that I lined up the 3 stamp sentiment almost perfect. I used a ornament embossing folder on the red piece. I believe the cloud die is from Impression Obsession. The watercoloured sky was leftover from the card I posted earlier.

I popped the Winter Dragon up on the cloud, and a better look at the sentiment.

Thanks for looking today & I have one more holiday card, but I need to step up the pace.

Remnants of a Missed Challenge

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash~~Crafty Remnants. What a great challenge as we all have extras on our desk and sometimes they are enough to make a full card. Going back to the first challenge of 2025 at the Jingle Belles to use something new and old I picked a new die I had just received when the PO strike was over and I decided to take it for a spin on the big shot, once done I cut the rest of the layers then life got in the way and when I checked the challenge was over. The only new items were Peace cut from glitter cardstock to match the sky and the white base.

I have so many new ideas for this die, it makes a quick CAS card, Woah I made a CAS card. I think it would work as a shaker card and a great mini slimline.

Close up of the scene sadly the colours on the Peace die cut don't show well.

Well now you have seen what I found on my desk it's time for you to do a January clean and show us your crafty remnants. Check out the great cards the design team  have made with their crafty stash.

Glitter Me Happy!!

Hello and welcome to the first Shopping Our Stash challenge of 2025....Glitter me happy. Glitter makes me smile but only if I'm not using loose glitter. My first idea was a technique using tombow glue with a bit of water with glitter to look like snow/ice but neither of the two glitter containers were on the shelf, so Stardust stickles was my glitter of choice for my snow scene.

I used one of my Gruffies (he was on my desk)  and a rectangle of smooshed watercolour paper (also found on my desk) to make a holiday card (it's never too soon to start) I coloured and fussy cut the sled and snowbank, flat attached the snow but popped up the gruffie and toque. The stardust stickles was liberally applied (maybe a tad too much) to the snow bank and the toque. Sentiment was on the desk from where I stamped holiday envelopes after the PO strike was over.

Flags made from leftover scraps and a favourite sentiment were added to the inside.

This is my first card for my 2025  holiday stash.

Snow Day!!!

Hello and welcome to a new Challenge at Shopping Our Stash ~~ Winter......not a holiday. What a fabulous theme, especially for me since I'm sending "Winter" cards after the Canada Post strike is settled, If it is too long I will be sending Valentines. My stash busting was at it's best this challenge as I used a stamp/die set I got from the 25 days of Christmas Tags in 2023 and have never used it as well as the front sentiment and the Echo Park patterned paper I have been hoarding for a couple of years as well.

I made my second back fold card and I love how fast it can be made and it's different. The stamp/die set I used is from Neat and Tangled, The sky background was a scrap of smooshed watercolour paper, patterned paper is from Echo Park

Close up of the winter bunny who is elevated on the slope.

Finished the inside with a winter sentiment.

Time for a Hot Drink!!

At Shopping Our Stash the new challenge is "Time for a Hot Drink" for me my hot drink of choice is Coffee although I wouldn't turn down a "cuppa" tea, some hot apple cider or as I chose for my card Hot Chocolate with mini marshmallows of course. So I hope you will join the challenge with a hot beverage.

I decided to use up some scraps and what better way to do it than the September 2024 sheetload sketch, It is a mini slimline card.  I used some scraps of Echo Park I have been hoarding for a few years they are just too cute, Of course I used a House Mouse Designs stamp, it was a hard choice since I have a tea cup and a coffee cup stamp as well but the patterned paper did the deciding for me. Let it Snow is from Elisabeth Craft designs, the word Snow was cut twice for stability. The enamel dots are so old they were not very sticky so a little dab of glue was added.

Finished the inside with one of my newer sentiments and managed to get it straight and tucked behind the front circle.

What Was On My Desk!!

Here we go....there are always many many things on my desk and I have a corner computer desk with shelves, no I won't show you it but the only clear space is the small spot for my helper (see the sidebar) but I will show what I started with.

leftover paper, leftover cardstock and a layered snowflake leftover from December crafting. Now here is what I made with my bits.

The snowflake was perfect for the new rage of Fractured cards, they are fun and addicting and sure use up a lot of scraps. I popped up the snowflake and added a rhinestone to the center.

Here is the finished inside with a favourite sentiment and a couple of scraps of paper. I would have had my card finished a couple of days ago but I couldn't seem to locate the sentiment and why was it in the box of Birthday wood stamps? Then I was a bit late in getting my son's birthday card done. There does come a time when you run out of themes for family birthday cards.

Now since I planned this card for Rudolph days and I used so many "snippits" I'm adding this to:

I would like to wish you Happy Easter and thanks for spending some time here today.

Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

Welcome to the February edition of the monthly Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, it must be the 1st Saturday of the new month because there is a New challenge.

Awesome graphics by Lee.

As you see it's W is for Winter although here in SWO it's been hit and miss with the snowflakes but I don't think I have seen the sun for weeks, it's wet, damp and dreary, it's looking like we might see some Sun on the weekend. So here is my offering for the W theme.

I coloured the grumpy kitty and did some fussy cutting on it to make the snowbank, I had bought a paper pad that is filled with galaxy backgrounds so used one, since I was in a time crunch to get it done, now looking for a scrap to use I found this snowflake embossed piece the perfect size. BONUS.  The sentiment also came with the set so I stamped and cut it with one of the speech bubble dies from Stampin' up.

Close up of the sentiment.

Finished the inside with a stamp from a set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. and a scrap of the the galaxy paper.

I would like to add this to:

Winter Wonderland

Hello friends welcome to a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash!! For the next 2 weeks we are looking forward to seeing lots of Winter Wonderland cards, you can make a winter scene or an all White card.  Even being in Canada our winter wonderland is dull, drab and grey, we do have some lingering snow but to me it's just damp and drab. So I have dug deep into my stash and everything on my card is 2 years old or older.

Sorry for the terrible picture, windows updated and changed my photo program and now I can't see how bright the card is.  So I decided I wanted to make a wreath card with my favourite die from Gina Marie, I cut it twice and added some dimensionals between the two layers, added some white enamel dots from the Eyelet outlet  when I did a DT spot in 2017. I flat attached the wreath to the brick wall embossing folder layer which is on a scalloped square layer (EC designs). I cut 3 of each of the word dies 3 times and layered them these are the newest item at approximately 2-3 years young. Then it was added to a     5 1/2 inch square card base.

Close up of the wreath and winter words.

Finished the inside of the card with a favourite sentiment from Hero Arts.

I'm entering this in:

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ~~ Decembere.

Welcome to the December Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge and if you have read the main blog you will already know that the challenge blog will be on an extended hiatus. Check the main blog for all the information. So here is my final offering for the challenge.

As you see the challenge is Anything Goes with the option of Festive Animals and who doesn't love critters all dressed up for the Holidays

I do love my House Mouse images and use them any time I get a chance and this little critter is so adorable with his "berry" nose and branches for antlers. I used the "Softly Falling EF: from Stampin'up for the background and a snowflake circle from Memory Box.  The jury is out on whether I am putting a sentiment on the frond, perhaps a small silver sentiment as not to take away from the focal point, What do you think?

I finished the inside with the sentiment that went with the image which is a Stampendous Clear Mini stamp set (I have quite a collection, Christmas and more.)  I added a couple of pieces of the glitter scraps and a sticker snowflake.

I am entering this in:

Critter Crazy Challenge Blog ~~ Challenge #81 Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful December.

It's Rudolph Days!!!

I am unusually early with a card for Rudolph Days but there is a reason......I decided to try a new technique with a new product, well it really wasn't going well when I finished  "playing" I was covered in mica spray all three colours that I have and I really was disappointed in the purple as it didn't have a lot of shine, and I shook it well too. Now I never trow my fails out (unless they are really bad) and when I saw a post what do you have on your craft table the "fail" was there including the silver die cut I had planned on using and when I looked at it the green "fail" didn't look too bad so I finished it and I like how it came together. I am sure I just need practice using sprays. So there is my story about why I'm early to Rudolph Days.

I used the more textured side of the  paper, it does shine nicely too but sparkle never shows well in photos. The Snowflake die is the largest of three from Elizabeth Craft Designs and was flat attached.  Debating on adding some bling to the center of the snowflake.

Finished the inside with the smallest snowflake in the Elizabeth Craft Designs snowflake set and a vertical Hero Arts sentiment.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are getting your Holiday cards done almost panic time.

Rudolph Days ~~ August

Last Rudolph days I posted a card for July explaining I had been sidelined from creating cards as I broke my ankle I had a stash of off cuts that I made my card with well fast forward to August the word from the Dr was it is healing nicely but it's 4 to 6 weeks more in the air boot, which I am managing to get it off and back on  for TV watching and bedtime, all other times it is on. So this month again I found a couple of digital images I had printed off and I managed to colour them (don't look too close)  and then looked for scraps to finish the front, the process took a couple of days. Although the air boot is lighter than a plaster cast it's still heavy and in the way. Well with all that being said here is my simple offering for the August Rudolph days.

The digi is from Bugaboo Stamps (sadly they are closed)  I decided to make the birds into Winter Robin, I added foam tape to elevate the image and added a Merry Christmas Sticker sentiment.

Close up of the image, they are so adorable

Thanks for stopping by to see my one an only card I have crafted in August.

It's Jingle Belle Time!!!

Well slipping in with 1 1/2 hours to spare I finally got my card done for the Jingle Belles Rock challenge to use Stripes and/or Stars on your project. I had this card planned for almost the whole time the challenge was live, it just seemed everything was out to delay me, being retired I should have oodles of time to craft but between June 30 and July 10th I have 6 birthday cards to make along with two Grad cards, that being said I'm happy to get a Holiday card done, so here is my striped non-traditional coloured card.

Let me introduce you to "Winter Dragon" isn't he just the cutest thing, he is running a close second to my darling Narwal. After 4 years I finally had a chance to go to Scrapfest in Kitchener and found this Lawn Fawn set on for half price I bought both the stamp set and die set. The glitter cardstock is from the dollar store and I have no idea where the striped paper is from.

Closer look at the "frostyville wreath" from Memory box  dated 2013 and the super sweet dragon.

Finished the inside of the 5 1/2 inch square card with a piece of patterned paper and a Hero Arts Sentiment. (my fav.)

I am adding this to:

Jingle Belles Rock Challenge ~~ Stars or Stripes forever. plus a Double Trouble Challenge.
