All Things Tim

Hello and welcome to the June A Tiny Craft Challenge, the theme is All Things Time ( or similar style if you don't have any of his "stuff" in your stash)

First I gathered some Tim Holtz stencils and one odd stencil that was on the table. I used Distress Oxide inks and brushes to blend the colours over the stencils (remember I'm not very good with them) I also used the sentiments that come with the Snarky Cats, I layered them on black cardstock.

And now a closer look at each one .

The back ground is a bubbles stencil (non TH) I added a die cut balloon as the sentiment suggested birthday.

The background of this one is from a 3 piece set of TH tag stencils I've had for a long time and I used the new distress oxide ink Saltwater Taffy.

Background was made with a full size TH stencil Splatters (looked like coffee rings to me)

Another of the trio of tag stencils from TH for the background.

Bonus ATC

The background is the 3rd of the trio of tag stencils, I needed to use it as it went right along with the sentiment and of course the Snarky Cat.

I'm adding this to:

ATC Around the World ~~ #90 Circles

Happy Little Stampers ~~ June  Stencil Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you give these little works of art a try they are fun to make. I invite you to stop by the Main Blog and see the rest of the TH style ATCs the team has made.

T is for Tags at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Another two weeks has flown by and the weather has gone from Winter to summer and now we are having spring, so nice to have comfortable temperatures.

Here is Edna to announce our newest challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Wow so many tags Edna is sporting on her dress.

Here is what I finally came up with for the challenge. sadly it is a "snarkless" project.

I am not sure why I went this route for my tag, it never occured to look up one of my AI beauties or a Stella digi from my computer but I did take myself way out of my comfort zone. Yellow/orange combo is not a favourite and I really don't do mixed media but I blended the oxide inks, added a few bubble from a stencil flicked water on it before I added the wild flower die cuts and the Smile die cut which I cut 3 times to pop it up.

closer look at the sentiment and you can see the stencil bubbles.

I used my TH tag sizzix die to make the tag.

I'm adding this to:

Happy Little Stampers ~~ Anything goes with Dies

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the Main Blog there is much better inspiration there from the rest of the team.

D is for Dog!!!

Hello friends another two weeks has flown by, last weekend I had two Sundays, I don't know about you but this quarentine is messing with my days along with the fact I never know what date it is.  I am my circle of 10 or however many we can have now.  I am glad I have the diversion of the cottage and my crafting or I would be in a sad state. To top it all off I finally have my design teams in the right order it has only taken since January to wrap my head around it and I'm now on track. (at least for a while)  The new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is D is for Dog!! lots of really cute/snarky doggie projects on the Main Blog. Here is what I came up with.

I haven't used this card design in eons, when the die I had planned on using was just a tad too small for the image I went with a card design I saw on pinterest, and it left me just enough room for the snarky sentiment.(still a lot of white space) The dog is a Tim Holtz set of dogs and dies from sizzix I have had for a couple of years and never had them out of the packge, (have cats too) The bones are from the die I had planned on useing so just cut a few to add interest to the card.  It's a mailable card too.

I feel like I was celebrating the 4th of July using these colours, once I had coloured the ball and dish I had to use the red and blue and a few more bones. The sentiment is from Stampendous.

As I said earlier there are a lot more dog creations on the Main Blog. We are looking forward to seeing your creations for D is for Dog.
I am entering this in:

Seize the Birthday ~~ #195 the topping is Non-Neutral Card Base

Fab 'n' Funky Challenges ~~ $491 Use a "real" stamp (no digis)

Cardz 4 Guyz ~~ #249 No patterned paper.

Thanks for visiting today and have a great week.

Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge for June ~~ Monochrome

Happy Little Stampers is taking a hiatus for 6 months so this is my last ATC for them for a while (hoping I get asked back) It's been so much fun creating the little 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inch rectangles and 2 inch circle Coins. Monochrome is one of my favourite things and quite I don't plan it but happens anyway. For this challenge I wanted to tackle a few things I don't do very often and need practice  so here are my ATC cards.

Along with tackling stencils I also use two colours I rarely use especially in one tone.

First I made the background with two distress oxide colours then using the Hero Arts Large Lotus pattern stencil, layered it on two shades of yellow and decided to play with the cone flower die which I cut in yellow then in foam core to elevate it on the card, Finished with a trio of yellow glitter enamel dots from the Eyelet Outlet.

For this pair of ATCs I started  out with the background using two shades of brown distress oxide ink and after it was dry I use the Tim Holtz splatters stencil in the darker colour. The coffee mug is a stamp and die from Verve and I paper pieced some clock paper on it. I also added some coffee beans and the sentiments are from the Verve coffee set. It is also layered on two shades of brown.

Thanks for following along with me on my 6 months as part of the  design team of Happy Little Stampers. ATC challege blog.

Back Again With a New Card for the Jingle Belles.

I don't know when I've had so much mojo to make cards, I think it was the sketch that did it. I love the Sketch and it uses tags.  Again I used blue and white for my card, this time a little deeper blue. The image I used has been stamped and coloured  (don't spread it around) for over two years.  Finally I get a chance to use it.  I'm not sure what I was making but I stamped and coloured a whole lot and I didn't need it. I have a small box of small images that are ready to use, a lot of die cuts as well.

A super cute house mouse in an ornament and he works perfect for the circle tag dies, again I used the leaf/stem flourish for the tag hanger. Although you can't see it well I embossed the white layer wth an ornament embossing folder added the border die (though it looked like ornaments) an a strip of lace. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz Holiday sentiments.

Finished the nside with a strip of blue and a bit of lace and another sentiment from Stampendous.  You can never have too many Christmas sentiments.

I am entering this in:

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Oh Christmas Sketch
And the sketch

Sparkles Christmas Challenge ~~ #112 Add a ribbon, lace or twine (nailed it)

Thanks for stopping by again and stay home, stay safe, stay healthy.

The Dreaded "ONE LAYER" card!!!

Challenge #399 at Shopping Our Stash is the "dreaded one layer card" and I am NOT a fan but I put that aside and made one.

I must admit I made one card and when I added it to the blog I didn't like it at all, If I had done some thinking about it I would have done a better job. I made an A2 top fold card, taped the edges and the base to my teflon mat and used distress oxide ink, using a Tim Holtz stencil and texture paste I did an fair job with it, I do need more practice. The stencil is about 3 years old or more.

Close up to show how it pops up. I really like this and will made a wonderful Birthday, Get Well or a Sympathy card.

Next is the "fail" card, it will be much better when I cut it and layer it. but for now it's a one layer card.

Again not thinking ahead I used what I had on hand which is mostly Christmas stamps, this one is a "Fluffles" stamp long retired from Stampendous. I have lots of Fluffles and they are in a variety of occasions even one I make into a "red hat" lady.  I coloured the image with Spica Glitter pens even darkened the verse.

Close up of the super sweet image.

Ancient products used....Jingle all the Way Fluffles and the glitter pens at least 10 years old.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog and see the awesome one layer cards the rest of the design team have made. (much more ingenious than mine)

It's time for Drumroll please ~~ #109 E is for Engineering challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Happy Saturday!! ah finally the weekend!!! I hope you will find some time to check out the New challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers E is for Engineering in layman's terms Steampunk!! This challenge hits my panic button, the rest of the design team are so good at it and I struggle.  On my occasional rummage through my 12 X 12 papers I found not one but 2 pieces of glitter paper from Forever in Time (dollar store 2/$1.00) and it had 5 artist trading card size images on it, wow score one for me.  Here is what I did with them. (not quite as much stress this year)

Here is a grouping of the finished ATCs.

In no particular order since I couldn't remember how they were placed.

the first one I just added a metal clock that I've had for a long time in my box of trinkets and when I was tidying up a pile I found those alpha stickers, oh my they are so old and half used I was afraid they wouldn't stick but they did, unfortuately all the "Ms" in lower case letters was totally used up so I used upside down "W"s. If I had had more Ms or Ws I would have done My Time oh well I'm happy anyway.

The second one I alter with a couple of gears and that feather out of my trinket box, and the diamond brads are a retired pack from SU.

If I'm not mistaken the N in steampunk is an upside down U but the M is real. For this ATC I just added a couple of brads and stamped some arrows (not well though, how can I miss with a clear block and a clear stamp?

This was was very simple, I cut the gears from some leftover copper added the brad and the little arrows are from the spokes on the one gear (they were two cute not to use them) I also used a Tim Holtz flower stencil and worn lipstick DO ink. (it's very subtle)

Last but not least is my fav. the steampunk image I found on the internet did a funky die cut on it added some ancient key/padlock I have them in three colours  it was always my thoughts they wouldn't have them long at the $$store. I also used one of TH mini layering stencils and walnut stain distress oxide inks.

There you have my once a year Steampunk offering for the E is for Engineering challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, check out the main blog and see the awesome projects the rest of the design team have made.

Thanks for visiting and have an awesome weekend.

It's Saturday!! The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers has a new challenge ~~ X is for Xyloid!!!

Happy Saturday!!! X is for Xyloid at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, now before you go to Google Xyloid I'll give you a hint ~~ Wood Like. Well that leaves it wide open to your interpretation.

I was a lucky lady to receive an envelope with this super "cute" Tim Holtz crazy cats in it, they were all die cut beautifully, I now have a small set of them but I'm going to use the gifted ones until they are gone, a lot less work on my part, thank you Lindsey.
So for my card I used distress oxide ink for the sky, Hardwood background stamp from Stampin'up (I do believe it's retired)  The grass is two die cuts from an Impression Obsession die. Sentiment is computer generated.

Close up of one cat and the sentiment

Keeping with the "old" theme I used a Studio G stamp from the $2 bin at Michaels and a left over piece of the hardwood fence.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog to check out the rules and see what the rest of the design team have made for X is for Xyloid.

Need a Cup of Joe?

It's Saturday and it's a NEW challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and it's a dandy!! N is for Need Coffee..........are you awake and ready to join us? When I saw the challenge I immediately searched my Bugaboo Digis folder and found Stella and you know what that means........SNARK!!! Here she is............

I had to search for scraps of Crumb Cake but I did use some new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide walniut stain with his stencil. The blue cardstock is Ballet Blue and has been retired for years. The sentiment is from a coffee sentiment set from Gina Marie Designs. (lots of choice of snark), The coffee and Stella's glasses have paper glaze on them,.

Close up you can see the paper glaze on Stella's glasses but not so much on the coffee. but it's there.

I'm entering this in:
Naughty or Nice ~~ Drink Up

This is the sentiment that came with the digi of Stella and the coffee cup. I added some coffee stains with TH stencil, although if I have my coffee anywhere near my table it would look like it naturally.

Thanks for joining me here today and I hope you will stop by the Main Blog check out the challenge and see what Coffee snark the rest of the design team have made for your inspiration.

It's Tuesday!!! Time for a New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!!

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #264 ~~ Card Shark!!! Now this is a real challenge, I was so stressed over how to do this challenge I almost forgot (probably intentional) that I had to make it. After the stress of the challenge at SoSS I really didn't want to deal with this one. If I thought ahead (like when I'm at home where my stuff is) I would be much better ahead. I brought one thing with me for the challenge and that was Tim Holtz poker face embossing folders, they are ATC size. I have embossed them on kraft core paper and sanded them but of course it was not in my mind to bring it with me. Since we are supposed to be using up what we have I decided just to make a playing card.  Here is what I came up with.

I embossed the Queen of hearts added the red to the hearts and Q then went over the lines with a silver pen to give it some detail.

This is the back of the playing card I drew myself and coloured with pens I found at a yard sale, don't be too judgmental as this is my first attempt and I really need practice.

don't look too closely please.

what I used to make my playing card.

Thanks for stopping by and head over to Shopping Our Stash for the rules and to see what the rest of the design team have done with their Card Shark challenge.
