DAD Jokes.............

Challenge #472 at Shopping Our Stash is Dad Jokes, made a Humorous card for "DAD".  I used a favourite stamp company for "funny" images and sentiments.... Art Impressions.

I coloured and fussy cut "dad" and the lawn mower, added a diecut fence to the do blended background some clouds added the two sentiments. The father's day one is from a sentient set from stampin' up and to the Lawn Ranger is part of the sentiment that comes with the image. (it's a birthday sentiment) I also popped "dad" up with foam strips and dots.

Closer look at Dad and the sentiment, I masked off Happy Birthday and just stamped to the Lawn Ranger.

SOS #306 ~~ Dad or Dude

It's almost time for Father's day to roll around again and Shopping Our Stash would like you to make a masculine card,  I am working on my cards at the cottage and for the second time I totally skipped over one of the challenges, fortunately I caught it in time but brought very little masculine items with me but for some reason or other I added a lighthouse die to my little box of dies to bring with me, how lucky was that.

I also had the Father's day die with me, also a stroke of luck.

Since this is my hubby's card I added the Beach sign.

I will have to type up a sentiment on the computer when I get home and hope when I come back to the cottage next week I "pack" better.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the  Main Blog and check out what Dude cards the rest of the design team have made.

Challenge #102 Monograms starts it’s Second Week

The second week of the cold snap continues here in SWO too, I;m getting so I don’t even want to go out, which might be good, I get more done at home. At the Cheerful Stamp Pad we start the second week of the Monograms challenge, the sponsor is Floppy Latte from Stitchy Bear Outlet. Since we were given quite a few different digis to play with it was hard to decide what to make. Last week I altered a notebook for hubby with his initial on it. This week I chose the letter D to use and I made a Gift Card Holder.

It was dumpster diving in my scrap basket and voila’ I had everything to make this gift card holder. I cut the a & d with my alpha dies from cuttlebug. I have no idea where I found the tutorial for this project but here are the measurements.
The base (I used black) 7 X 4 1/4 inches scored at 2 1/2 and 5 1/2
I added an extra layer of white as I wasn’t happy with the patterned paper on the black.
The patterned paper Cut 2 pieces 4 X 2 1/4 and one piece 4 X 1 1/4
The belly band base 9 1/2 X 1 1/8  patterned paper 4 3/8 X 1
The short flap is the bottom and you put the smaller patterned paper on it. the larger two pieces go on the front and the inside of the top flap.
Using strong narrow tape attach the sides of the small flap to make a pocket.  The belly band goes around the whole project and attaches at the back with a strong tape, this will slide  off and on. Then put the small strip of patterned paper on the front of the belly band and decorate.

This shows you the inside after you take the belly band off. I have a Tim’s Card in there for Dad that likes to join his pals for coffee. It could be used for Father’s Day or a Birthday.
Well this is a longer post than I planned but if you want a fairly simple and easy gift card holder this is the  one to try.  I hope you will show us how you use monograms.

A close up so you can read the sentiment.

New Challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday…..Masculine

Get a head start on your Father’s day card or a birthday card the theme is Masculine or Father’s day and the stash item is use METAL on your project,  To get all the information on the challenge please check out the Clear it Out challenge blog. Two fabulous sponsors again so two chances to win, Bugaboo is offering 7 digi images and Stamping chef is giving 3 images.
For this week’s inspiration I used a cute dino from Stamping Chef, such a cute “daddy’s day card”. Since dinosaurs are usually green I picked a lime green and of course my favourite colour purple. this reminded me of the dinosaur sweaters I knit for my older two grandsons when they were very young.
