Second Week of the Make a Tag Challenge……

This is the second week of the make a tag challenge at The Cheerful Stamp pad and the sponsor is McMahon five designs. my printed papers, my image and the sentiment are all from the sponsor. I used my Tim Holtz Tag and bookplates die and a sizzix scalloped tag die for the two tags. I trimmed the printed paper tag a bit to show the green layer.
IMG_1718
It was a really long Saturday night here at the cottage, some renters don’t know the meaning of quiet between 11 and 8, at 3 a.m. out came a guitar and the singing began and badly too. I managed to sleep from 4 until 7.30, but by 8 it was guitar playing and singing and I use that term loosely  Thanks for stopping by to look at what I have created and please stop by The Cheerful Stamp Pad to see the rest of the design team's tags. Now off to have a power nap.

Supplies

The Cheerful Stamp Pad Challenge….A Tag

The challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad is to make a tag and the sponsor is McMahon Five Designs. Head over to the blog and check out the inspiration that the other DT members have done.
The background paper for the tag is from McMahon five  as is the  image and  the sentiment. I knew I wanted to use the sentiment as one of my favourite band is the Beatles, I have a lot of their cds and listen to them when I can (hubby is an Elvis fan).
IMG_1706
I finally used my Tim Holtz movers and shakers Tag and bookplates die and cut the turquoise and the printed paper, I cut the print down as to show the backing. I used the bookplate for the bottom part of the sentiment. I didn’t think to bring fibres with me to use for the “tail” on the tag but had some cotton yarn so I cut lengths and then unravelled it.
Supplies
Image, patterned paper and sentiment….McMahon Five Designs
Cardstock…..Turquoise, Crushed Curry and GP white.
Accessories…..TH Tag & bookplate die, Spellbinders circles, brads
                             Cotton yarn, pop dots
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you can get crafty and make us a TAG.

You Make a Lovely Couple Week Two

The Cheerful Stamp Pad’s challenge is on for another week, stop over to the Blog to check out how to enter and see what the other design team members have done to inspire you. The sponsor for this second week is Twisted Papers head over to Facebook and check out what they have to offer  My image I am using is from the site, I love the sepia and back & white images.
My inspiration for making my card came to me while “listening” to a PBS program on T.V. The program was about the photos the men carried during the Civil War, I am not sure of the size of them I thought perhaps 4 X 5 and some were framed in embossed gold frames and carried in tin boxes to protect them. Being at the cottage I hadn’t brought any gold paper with me so found a gold gift bag and used it. I always seem to be missing something no matter how much I bring with me.

Amaryllis in Full Bloom Birthday

Hello again friends, I know it’s odd I’m posting again so soon but my Bloglovin feed brought me a challenge today. I have been trying to keep busy at the cottage it’s so hot and humid I don’t want to spend time outside so I sit in front of the fan and colour. I won some images from Digi Darla a few weeks ago and this is one of the images I chose. I am always making Birthday cards as I give all my friends a handmade card for their birthday every year so need a “stash” of them.  Now you will notice there isn’t a sentiment on the card, that is because it never occurred to me to bring any stamps with me. Sometimes I wonder where my mind is when I pack. I have a long list of what I need to bring back with me next time.
I’m entering this in the “Make and Easel Card” Challenge #70 check out the challenge at their new Challenge Blog.
IMG_1702

Cardstock….Real Red GP white
Spellbinders dies….Fleur dis lis & resplenant rectangles
Stickles….yellow and ice
Easel cards are one of my most favourite to make, they seem so quick and easy. Thanks for stopping by today and since most of North America is in a heatwave, try to keep cool.

Mid-Week inspiration for Clear it Out Tuesday!!

There is still another week to enter your project on the Clear it Out Tuesday Challenge Blog. The theme is Make Someone’s Day and make it sparkle. Use up some of that glitter that is on the shelf or your stickles that are in the cupboard, you could even use some of the glitter cardstock that you just had to have every colour of. The sponsors are Bugaboo and The Stamping Chef, please visit their stores they are fabulous sponsors and are very generous too.
If you follow my blog you know I’m at the cottage for the week, woohoo but it does present some obstacles, dial up for one take three times longer for me to do most things and lack of crafting supplies. I had a minor meltdown when I thought I didn’t have any glitter in the “box” How could I do a card where the stash item is glitter/bling? but on checking my tote (I take it to classes) there was a large bottle of Ice Stickles in a pocket.

Challenge #64, You make a Lovely Couple

Hello everyone,  I hope you had a good weekend and had awesome weather. Our weather here in SWO is hot and humid, what is really nice is I am spending the whole week at the cottage. I plan and pack to craft while here but there are always things I forget but for this challenge I had everything. Check out what the other girls on the design team have done, you just gave to click HERE.

The challenge is “ You Make A Lovely Couple” and it is sponsored by Twisted Papers and they are on Facebook. I have trouble getting to things on Facebook since here at the cottage it’s dial-up, an a lot of time things don’t load very fast. When I chose my image for the challenge I knew right away I wanted it to be an ATC card, these are cute 2 1/3 X 3 1/2 inch cards, they are never sold, only traded or given away. Here is my artist trading card for the challenge and I hope you will join us at The Cheerful Stamp Pad

From the Past is on for another week at……………..

The Cheerful Stamp Pad and the sponsor is still Vintage Image Craft. Head over to their Facebook page and check out the free images that you can use for the challenge.

Happy Canada Day for all my Canadian followers, it’s July 1st and Canada is 146 years old. There will be some great parades and fireworks this weekend, Port Dover has a huge parade and a lot of other festivities on July 1st. There is a band tattoo and fireworks in the evening.

On with the card…..I used a vintage fairy image from Vintage Image Craft, I printed it on Very Vanilla and layered it on Old Olive and a bright yellow, I popped it up on a base of Very Vanilla and Old Olive that I punched with the Fleur dis Lis EK punch.
