L is for Lindsey

Two years have passed since Lindsey lost her battle with Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer she is still in the thoughts of her many friends and fellow crafters. Lindsey was just a text away if I had a crafting block .  So for this challenge it was difficult to just pick one thing so I picked a few, one trying to use my color burst, then I'm not good at CAS but gave it a go, next a cat and a snarky one. I hope I have made her smile.

I still have not figured out why my laptop won't work with my camera, I can eject the card but it won't open my photos to import my pictures.
I cut the oh s#&t out of metallic poster board, popped it up on the sad attempt with color  burst powders, then coloured the snarky cat gray [Duncan approves so Lindsey would say), fussy cut and popped him up on the  computer generated sentiment.

Close up of the cat and sentiment.
Due to my hand surgery I missed my "middle" grandson's birthday so this is his card.

I will add this to

Seize the Birthday    anything goes.

Water, Water Everywhere

Hello friends, family and followers, it's nice to have some warmer weather but not happy with the on and off again showers but in hindsight being from an agricultural part of the province the farmers need the rain, there was not enough snow this winter for the land to be ready for planting. I have no idea where the time has gone I can't believe it's May already but are you ready for a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash? Well here it is....Water, Water Everywhere!! Create a card with a LARGE body of water like and ocean, lake or river.  Here is the route I went.

I made a Stampscapes scene on watercolour paper, I must admit this was in my "basket" I wasn't particularly happy with it when I did it a long time ago but picking it up multiple times when surfing my basket of "stuff" it didn't look half bad so I decided to put it to use for this challenge. And besides being a stamp set I bought many years ago the finished product is ancient too.  I decided it was good to have a generic masculine card in my stash.

Inside is partially finished and will be great for either a get well or birthday card, it could be used for a retirement card as well, always good to have "anything" cards.

I'm adding this to:

The Dreaded Masculine Card!!!

My grandson's birthday was coming up (Birthday Alarm sends me notices 10 days and 2 days ahead) I was racking or is it wracking? my brain as he is in his 20s and I've pretty well exausted my ideas for him, he doesn't drive or have any interest in sports so pretty limited  to what I can come up with but with an idea for a card in my mind I was good to go until his Mom said they went to a music store and he spotted a set of previously owned drums, a lot of thinking and talking and quizzing the clerk (who believe it or not) is my  brother from another mother, how awesome is that, he bought the set of drums and immediately I remembered a digis from years ago from Stitchy Bear of a whole set of B&W musical instruments and voila a card was born.

5 1/2 inch square card I cut the circles with Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched circles, The silver I used I bought from Dollarama and is adhesive but doesn't cut sentiments, you get the backing but not the metallic. so I will use it up by peeling and sticking to cardstock.  I would have liked to stamp a music background on all that white space but the music stamp is meant for an A2 card.

The sentiment is from the same grouping of digis from Stitchy Bear AND was stamped with some very small rubber stamps on a wooden sticks I bought at Dollarama  Since I cut a circle extra I had to use it on the inside.

New Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ~~ T is for Technique!!!

At the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge 101 is T is for Technique!!! What technique have you not tried for a while? or maybe a new technique you haven't tried. Well we want to see them!!  There are a lot to choose from and I found the one I wanted to do on Stamp TV with Gina K.

My card was printed off from a page I found on Pinterest and saved, this of course was last year when I was looking for clocks for steampunk.  I printed it three times one for the base one for the clock face and one for the case which I embossed in gold,  I distressed all three layers of this project. The Happy Birthday die is "new" I've have it for a few months but it hadn't seen the die cut machine yet. I'm very happy how it works on a card.

As you see my technique is Cracked Glass and it works perfect for this image and I'm pleased with the cracking on it.

Finished inside with a Stampworks Sentiment, this will be for my son's birthday in March, hope it hasn't made it to that "safe place"

I'm entering this in.

It's a Musical Happy Birthday!!!

Today is my Grandson's birthday he was born right after Thanksgiving day 21 years ago!!! I remember it well, I was there and it was the most fabulous experience I have ever had, and I won the guess the weight challenge. Okay enough reminiscing on to the card!!!.

Mack is very musical and can play most instruments you give him so I had to make a music related card. it's very simple, An embossing folder and a Happy Birthday music sentiment.  I used the stitched alpha dies for his name. Both the happy birthday and his name were cut twice and layered to give more dimension.

Carrying the simplicity and the musicality to the inside just a die cut guitar and a simple sentiment.

I sure hope liked it.

Wild Horses..............

Hello again, another Tuesday has rolled around, Barbara here with a new card for the Eyelet Outlet Blog.  Here in Canada we just celebrated Victoria Day, it was a windy, cool and wet weekend but nice to get away to the cottage for the first time this year.  It is nice a quiet and I love to do my crafting there. Father's Day will be here soon and this card would be perfect for a father's day.  Here is what I made with some brads from the Eyelet Outlet store.

I tried a new technique on the background, I used a makeup brush from the local $$ store and some Kalidescope die ink in earth tones and swiped the brush across the cardstock, I do think I need to find a smoother cardstock for this technique. The stamp I used is from Local King Rubber and the first time it's seen ink. I planned this card around the super cute horse brads from the Eyelet Outlet Store.
I added the three enamel stars (also from the Eyelet Outlet) before I put the sentiment in place, once those stars were pressed in place there is no moving them.

Close up to show the detail on the horses which are in three colours and 12 in a package.

There is still time to get your order in to the Eyelet Outlet Store to pick up some great brads, eyelets and washi tape for your Father's Day or just for making masculine cards.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a look at my Tuesday partner's post, it's just below mine on the Eyelet Outlet blog.

Challenge #274 at Shopping Our Stash is ~~~ Hey Ghoulfriend

What a great title for a challenge ~~ thank you, Chris!!! The crew at  Shopping Our Stash  would like to you make a Halloween card or project.

Halloween is not as huge a celebration as it is in the U.S. so I don't make a lot of Halloween cards, but if there are challenges to be done then send them off to who ever I think would like a surprise. I had a lot of fun making this card and "shhh it's for my great-grandson". I bought a Pop up Die I think about 1 1/2 years or longer and had never taken it out of the package, it looked like a lot of work but surprise, surprise it wasn't as hard as it looked.

I had printed this super cute image from Bugaboo Stamps quite a while ago and had it all layered on gold and black ready to go. I added some colour to the windows, lights and eyes then using some chalks I did the background in pink and yellow for an eerie sky.  I punched the fence and popped it up and added the black cat that I found in that "parts box" The background paper is from Bo Bunny also a couple of years old.

Tada!! the pop up part of the card, The sentiments are computer generated and the bats are from an EK bat punch I found at Dollarama and I attached them with thin strips of acetate. The paper is from a 12 X 12 pad I bought 2 maybe 3 years ago at Winners.

Close up of the pop up part of the card and of course the super cute bats.

I would like to enter this in:
