Shopping Our Stash presents a Heavy Metal Challenge.

Challenge #140 at Shopping Our Stash is Heavy Metal, we want you to use metal on your project, it can be something from your stash, we know you have some metal there, or you could make something with metal. Not a very difficult challenge but make sure you mention what it is in your post, it makes it a lot easier for the design team to pinpoint the item.  For my card I used a Bugaboo image called Rock Star Boy, it will be a card for my grandson for his birthday (hope he isn’t reading). The metal I used is from my stash, 4 black star brads and 4 silver metal dots (I have these metal dots in a lot of colours and bought them in Jo-Ann’s when I was in Florida two years ago.
IMG_1979
The back ground paper is from a DCWV pack, I believe the green cardstock is Gable green from SU retired. Basic black and GP white was also used. I used some paper glaze on his glasses.
IMG_1980
Here is the inside just waiting for the sentiment. I used a scrap of the DCWV paper that was left over.
I am entering this in Glitter ‘N Sparkle challenge #73 Bright and Funky colours.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will find some time to join us at Shopping Our Stash for the Heavy Metal challenge.

Time for a few Snowflakes……………

We had more than our fair share of snowflakes this morning, of course it melted a bit yesterday and now there is ice in spots and quite slippery. For several years now I have been going to enter cards in Christmas Cards all Year Round, it’s such a fabulous idea and a great start on holiday cards. I used a Sassy Studio Designs and that is who the sponsor is for this month’s challenge.
IMG_1984
I used brilliant blue cardstock and embossed it with a Christmas embossing folder (first time too) I had the white floral oval in my scrap box so popped it up on the  blue, I fussy cut the image and elevated the image on the oval, added some snowflakes and the Merry Christmas, the “fur” is opal liquid pearls and there is a dot of stickles in the center of each snowflake.
IMG_1985
This is the inside, the embossed piece was also in my scrap box, My Christmas sentiments were not readily available so will finish this later.
I'm entering this in teh Blue & White challenge at Christmas Cards all year 'Round.
and in CHNC February Extra Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas.

Thanks for checking out my blog today and I hope you find time to do something fun!!

The Second Week of the Black and White Challenge!!!

There is one more week for the Black and White challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.  The sponsor is Bugaboo Digital Stamps a Canadian digital company that has really great designs.
I used a Bugaboo image again this week, I decided to make a “thinking of you card” I always seem to need some for get well or sympathy.
IMG_1974
I used GP white and SU black, the patterned paper is from bo bunny. ribbon from my stash. The roses were coloured with a white spica glitter pen and the back leaves coloured with a black spica glitter pen.
IMG_1975
I finished the inside with a die cut from Cheery Lynn called fanciful flourish, I found this in a drawer when looking for another die. I don’t even remember when I bought it and it had never been used. I did trip a couple of pieces off it so there was room for a sentiment.
I hope you will find some time to join us at The Cheerful Stamp Pad for the black and white challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful week.

Thinking of You

Every time Digi Darla Challenge blog has a challenge I seem to run out of time to get it in, this week I will be just sneaking it in under the wire. The challenge is 102 Sympathy, I decided I could use a sympathy card or two to have on stand-by, I like to use Thinking of You on my card, first I like it better and second I can’t seem to locate my sympathy stamp, re-organization needs to happen. The image is from Digi Darla Designs called Heart wreath with birds. and coloured with spectrum noir markers.
IMG_1969
Cardstock is GP white and bashful blue, the bow is bashful blue and the background is a sizzix embossing folder called tulip border, the Thinking of You is a rub-on.
I am entering this in the #102 challenge at Digi Darla Challenges Sympathy.
Thanks for checking my blog today and have a nice weekend.

Welcome to the Second Challenge at the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers

Thanks for playing along with us the past two weeks, your Anti-Valentine cards were awesome. The Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers would like you to play along with us for the second challenge, continuing the Alphabet Soup theme the letter this challenge is U for unused. Easy this time, just use things you haven’t touched in at least 6 months and  we all have a lot of those items. Dies that have never cut, stamps never seen ink, paper you just had to have and hmm what about all that ribbon, now is your chance to give those items some LOVE.
Almost two years ago a friend made a card with a Cheery Lynn English tea party doily die and I had to have one. Well that being said it has sat in the drawer ever since until now. The cardstock I used has also been neglected, it is Cameo Coral, the stamp set I used is Roses in Winter and I haven’t used either since last summer, even the ribbon was in a bag hidden under the craft table. Now that you know all that here is my card.
IMG_1967
There is a lot of work cutting with the die, I made sure ever corner was cut. I used wax paper around the die to make it easier to poke all the openings out. I threaded the narrow ribbon through one set of openings
IMG_1968
The card is a 5 1/4 square card and this is the semi finished inside.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will find some time to get your crafty on and join the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers for the U is for Unused challenge. You might be crowned the Queen of Snark.

Challenge #139 at Shopping Our Stash…… Embellish Me…….

If you are looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday blog post please just click HEREl  or scroll down to the next post.
Shopping our Stash has a real challenge for you it’s to make your own embellishments. Don’t forget to tell us what you made. I made a couple of things for my card. I had some flower sprays and took some of them apart to make my flowers and added the rhinestone in the center but the really nice part of it all is the hat pin with the bead on it which was a gift from a friend.
IMG_1961
As you can see it is a 50th anniversary card, I printed the sentiment on the computer and cut with the Floral ovals, layered in on the shiny gold cardstock (from my stash), embossed the white layer.
IMG_1962
Here is a close look at the hat pin embellishment, and flowers.
IMG_1963
The sentiment is computer generated and the gold braid was hanging out on my table saying use me please, so I did . I think it looks quite nice. I am so happy I have the card ready for the party, now as long as I don’t put it in that “safe” place and lose it.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have some crafty time set aside to join Shopping Our Stash for the Embellish me Challenge. Remember we want you to make your own embellishment.

It’s Tuesday and Time for a New Challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday

Yesterday I posted a card for a colour challenge, and my daughter pointed out to me that Black and White were not colours, I guess it is a Black and White challenge. Clear it Out Tuesday has a real colour challenge and the colour is RED and the stash item is something RED. The sponsor for the challenge this week is Digi Darla Designs, check out all the great digis they have in their store. My image is called Groovy Love, I think it will make a great anniversary or even an engagement card.
IMG_1956
I was playing around with one of the new dies I bought last year, it is called Opulent Ovals and 10 different looks you can get with them while playing with them I thought I had ruined the image but managed to salvage it and just added it to an oval, The frame is flat attached to white layer and the image is popped up.
IMG_1957
Even this picture doesn’t show how elevated the image is. The red shiny cardstock is about 5 years old, I was hoarding it because I can’t purchase any more.
                       IMG_1958
No matter what you do trying to take a picture of something shiny is really difficult. Here is the semi finished inside.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will find some time to join us at Clear it Out Tuesday for the “RED” challenge.Head over to the blog and check out all the cards the design team had made for your inspiration and check out the rules to enter the challenge. You have one week to join in the fun!!

It’s a Colour Challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad!!!

It’s the start of a new challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad, and it’s something I like to do….it’s a Colour challenge and the colours are Black and White. Sometimes black & white can be the easiest to do but this one was a struggle. I think it was picking the image that would work with the challenge, once I knew the image it all went together 1,2 3.  The sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Images, if you haven’t checked them out this is the time, they are a Canadian company and have some of the cutest and the funniest images I have seen.
IMG_1964
Super cute pair of shoes from Bugaboo digi stamps, I coloured them with a bic marker and then covered the black with a black spica glitter pen and added an oval rhinestone to the bow on the shoes. The Ribbon and flowers I’ve had forever and I added some black & white buttons to the center of the flowers
IMG_1965
Here is a close up of the flowers.Next is the proof I’m keeping my bargain with myself to finish or semi finish the inside of all my cards.
IMG_1966
I am entering this card in the Catch the Bug challenge Blog for the February Bingo. The bingo line I used is Flower, Bugaboo image and Button.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you find time to join in the fun at The Cheerful Stamp Pad for the Black & White colour challenge.

A Very Easy Valentine Candy Holder

I receive e-mails from a very talented Stampin’up demonstrator, she had quite a few different ideas for treat holders. Here is the one I used from Stamp and Scrap with Frenchie. I made 16 of these and handed 15 out to the bowling ladies on Friday, they were very happy with them. I think they can be made for any holiday you want to make a number of treats for.
IMG_1959
The heart stamp I used was one of the first ones I ever bought when I started stamping it’s from PSX which no longer is in business, shame too because they had beautiful stamps. I inked them with versafine crimson red. The” for you” is from Stampin’up Sale-A-Bration Punch Bunch, possibly last year or the year before, I added the ribbon and a bit of bling to the flower. I just used up the image that wasn’t perfect, I forgot to take a picture of the “good” ones lol.
IMG_1960
This shows how the peppermint patty sits in the holder, I added some heavy duty tape to hold them in place.
Thanks for stopping by today and put a little crafting in your day!!!

Just a little Valentine Treat

I was going to a girls lunch out on Tuesday and decided I would like to make a Valentine treat card. The card is 3 X 3 inches square. I made 16 of them but only needed 5 so I have been having fun handing them to some of my friends. I even made the envelopes too.
IMG_1954
The papers I used and even the 12 X 12 cardstock is at least 5 years old. I had two packages of the valentine paper and the 12 X 12 cardstock I bought when I was doing recipe card swaps and it was more economical to use as the cards were 4 X 6 and you get 6 out of one sheet. The opening was cut with my spellbinders heart die and the frame as well.  the wrapped chocolate heart was attached with some heavy duty tape. I also used the patterned paper to make envelopes to match, You can just see the corner of it behind the card.
Thanks for stopping by today and come back again, you are always welcome to see what I’ve been crafting.

Shopping Our Stash Says to Make it Shiny!!!

If you are looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post scroll down or just click HERE.
Are you ready for a Challenge? well Shopping Our Stash has one for you!!! Just dig through that stash of shiny things and put them on your project. I really did some digging to fins my shiny paper, I don’t even remember when I bought it, the glitter cardstock is a year old. I used a digital image I had from The Stamping Chef self named a funny, quirky smexy bunch.  I used Glitter ritz cool tone on her wings and added a tad of stickles to her dress. Now her she is……
IMG_1949
Not much of the shine shows in this picture. I added a few flowers with rhinestone centers for added bling.
IMG_1950
Live writer seems to be fighting me tonight so this picture is not going to be enlarged, I hope you can see the fine glitter on her wings.
IMG_1951
The inside not totally finished but i think it shows how shimmery the background paper is.
Thanks for checking out my blog today and I hope you find some time to shop your stash and enter in the “shiny” challenge.

Mid Challenge time at The Cheerful Stamp Pad

The theme is Love/Valentine at the Cheerful Stamp Pad, the sponsor is Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet. There are many stores at Stitchy Bear and my image was picked from BBKakes and her name is Flora Fae.
Because I wanted to use the flora frames from Stampin’up I made the card 5 1/4 inches square, of course not having envelopes I made one for the card to fit in, I forgot to take a picture of it and now it is on it’s way to the recipient. I am using patterned paper I have had for at least 5 years and having fun doing it too.
IMG_1952
Isn’t she just adorable. I coloured her with my alcohol markers Put some stickles on her wings and cut out with the floral frame, layered on the largest floral frame and popped it all up on the dot background. The sentiment was computer generated.
IMG_1953
Finished  inside, the stamp is from Hero Arts called life with sunshine and I stamped it in Brilliance coral.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can find some time to get crafty and enter the  Love/Valentine challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.

Welcome to the First Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers Challenge~~~~~A is for Anti-Valentine

It has certainly been an exciting time for the Design team, it is amazing what a “small gang” can get done in a very short time. We welcome you to join the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers in their first challenge. If you haven’t been to the blog yet hop on over and check out the FAQ, rules of the challenge and take a look at all the fabulous cards my teamies have made, they are just awesome.
IMG_1945
My image is from Floppy Latte they are closed for now but should be back soon with new “stuff”. The sentiment didn’t  show up well in the picture so here is a closer look at it.
                         IMG_1943
I found this sentiment when I googled “snarky Valentine cards” cute eh. The paper I used is a black and white pack from Bo Bunny, I coloured the image with my alcohol markers and fussy cut it out. I used the current sketch #235 from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I took a liberty with it and put the sentiment at the top instead of the bottom.  Now for the inside.
IMG_1944
Another sentiment found on the web. I thought it went along with the challenge rather well. I have a person in mind to send this card to and she will get such a kick out of it.
I’m entering this in the Sketch #235 at Tuesday Morning Sketches.
Thanks for joining me today for the very first challenge at the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers. Now get your “snark” on and enter your project on the blog, you have two weeks to add it to the linky.

The image is Li’l Frolic where’s the buttons, and we had to use at least one real button on the card.
IMG_1931
I made an easel card, I am very fond of making them I find them quicker than an A2
IMG_1932
Here is a close up of her sweet face.

New challenge at Shopping Our Stash is # 137 Love Me Tender.we need to see a project with the theme of Love or Valentine or both, they seem to go together. I chose a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches unfortunately the collection closed today. Better luck for me next time. I do love this sketch. The image I used is my favourite rodents (and not a groundhog) from House Mouse Designs.
IMG_1938
I didn’t put a sentiment on the front yet, I couldn’t decide what I wanted and who this card was for, perhaps it’s for my Hubby and I will use my Love stamp.
Here is a quick peek at the inside just to keep me honest about finishing the inside. It’s not very elegant but done.
IMG_1939
Along with the cute image from House Mouse Designs I use the heart paper from Basic Grey called Kissing Booth. the stripped paper is from Stampin’ up. (had this one for years)  the heart buttons are also from my stash. The Ribbon is Offray equally as old and the charm is from a package I picked up on clearance from Michaels last year.
I am entering this in the following challenges.

Clear it Out song.

I coloured my image with my spectrum noir and copics (for the skin) I decided since I was using my spellbinder hear dies I needed to make a 5 inch square card. The large white heart is flat attached , the next set of hearts is popped up and I fussy cut Balloon Boy and popped him up on top. Hi There was cut with a cuttlebug die that has several sayings on it…..it’s ancient and rarely used. SAD. Buttons from the dollar store.  Now isn’t he just adorable!!!
IMG_1937
