Glitter Me Happy!!

Hello and welcome to the first Shopping Our Stash challenge of 2025....Glitter me happy. Glitter makes me smile but only if I'm not using loose glitter. My first idea was a technique using tombow glue with a bit of water with glitter to look like snow/ice but neither of the two glitter containers were on the shelf, so Stardust stickles was my glitter of choice for my snow scene.

I used one of my Gruffies (he was on my desk)  and a rectangle of smooshed watercolour paper (also found on my desk) to make a holiday card (it's never too soon to start) I coloured and fussy cut the sled and snowbank, flat attached the snow but popped up the gruffie and toque. The stardust stickles was liberally applied (maybe a tad too much) to the snow bank and the toque. Sentiment was on the desk from where I stamped holiday envelopes after the PO strike was over.

Flags made from leftover scraps and a favourite sentiment were added to the inside.

This is my first card for my 2025  holiday stash.

Time for a New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!

It's Snow Much Fun at Shopping Our Stash for the next fortnight, the theme is Winter Fun and what is more fun than a "Gruffie" sledding in a bathtub?

This challenge I fell into a trap that I'm sure a few design team members have fallen in...designing and blogging the wrong challenge, good thing is I have the next one prepared but that left me scrambling to make a card for the current challenge. That in itself is traumatic but in the wee hours of the morning I woke with a back spasm, pain cream, magic bag and muscle relaxers but it wasn't enough to calm it down. I struggled with sitting, so in spurts I stood at the desk and got it done but took most of the day.  Well as I said it's a Gruffie stamp from House mouse designs, watercoloured background, I fussy cut the image and popped up his hat.

I finished the inside with a Hero Arts sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today and this is holiday card #5, I'm on  a roll.

Let it Snow!!!

A new month a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge, the theme is always everything goes but there is an option to feature Snowflakes on your project.

I can't believe January is over and we are on to February and it's a good time to make a "snow" card,  I just heard the weather report and we are readying ourselves for another storm, not sure where I'm going to put the snow as I'm not very tall and it's hard to throw the snow up on the already huge piles. Again it will be a good reason to stay inside and play catchup with some cards.  In keeping with the "snow piles" I picked a House Mouse Gruffie.

First I found a piece of oxide inked watercolour pa
per, looks perfect for a wintery sky, I stamped the Gruffie, coloured and fussy cut, he sure looks dangerously close to the edge of the precipice. Added a couple more snowbanks and Let It Snow is from Elizabeth Craft Designs and it was cut three times and glued together to give it a tiny bit of height.

Closer look at the Gruffie.

The sentiment is a Stampendous Cling Mount stamp.

My laptop has recently updated to Windows 11, it's been a learning curve, everything I do from putting photos on the computer to editing them has been very frustrating. The computer wouldn't even load Google Chrome, a lot of sites do not work well with Edge, in hindsight I should have clicked NO.

I am entering this in:

ABC Christmas Challenge ~~ A Anything Christmas & B

Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~~ Sentiment takes center stage.

Thanks for stopping by and stop over at the main blog and check out the projects the rest of the design  team have made. Not not making Christmas cards yet then check out the Stencil, CAS, Watercolour, or Anything Goes with Dies challenges.

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #389 ~~ Make Your Mark!!!

Shopping Our Stash this fortnight is Make Your Mark ~~ Colour anything you want using  MARKERS!!! Chris is our hostess for this challenge and I think it's an easy peasy one with the exception of figuring what stamp or digi image you want to colour, at least that seemed to be my problem I had 4 stamps and a few already stamped ready to be coloured, finally my decision was made when I saw the sketch at Sketch Saturday (I did take a few liberties)

It's a Gruffie and boy is he hungry. I carried the honey colour theme with early expresso as an accent. The paper is from a Bo Bunny Fall themed paper stack that is at least 5 years old. Fall colours are really not my favourite to create with so it is used sparingly. The oval dies that I used are Nellie's Multi Frames (oval)

Finished the inside using a favourite stamp and adding the plaid strip that was left over from the front.

I am entering this in:

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you are enjoying the two week challenges (I am) gives you more time to enter. Head over to the MAIN BLOG and check out the rest of the design team's projects.

It's Rudolph Days for November!!!

Wow where did November go? I was prepared this month I had my image stamped and coloured it looked great then disaster......why would I use clear glaze on the berries before I die cut it? well it smooshed (in a bad way) all the berries and it was toast, so I stamped a new one and planned to fussy cut the holly and use it but since the challenge ends tomorrow I had to try plan "b" an already coloured image in my "bits bin" So here is what I came up with for November Rudolph Days.

Sometimes I colour images just in anticipation of a challenge and then not finish so this is one of those, I added stickles to his hat and the snow, added the let it snow and  popped it up with some fun foam.  I love my Gruffies stamps although don't have too many this is one of my favourites, they are from House Mouse Designs.

Finished the inside with a simple Warm Winter Wishes.

I am entering this in:

Option Something Warm

Beccy's Place Challenges ~~ Day 30 of  a Month of Holiday card challenges.
it's the 6th year and I just found this challenge recently. Next year!!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fabulous weekend.

So Many Ways to Play Christmas Tic-Tac-Toe at the Jingle Belles Rock!!!

This time I went with the middle vertical line  Snow/Cardstock/Blue. I used one of my favourite stamp companies ~~ House Mouse Designs but this time I used a "gruffie"

Since I was crafting at the cottage I had limited cardstock, I had lots of white but not too many "holiday" colours, but had that scrap of Pacific Point cardstock  The background was embossed with "softly falling" from Stampin;up Let it Snow is a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs and the ovals are Spellbinders classic ovals, large. The fur on his hat and the snow is liquid pearls and stickles.

The inside was finished with a sentiment from High Hopes Rubber Stamps  which is perfect for "snowy cards"

Some Gruffie Love

I love House Mouse stamps, Happy Hoppers and Gruffies, I don't get a chance to use them very often except for the odd design team project or my own personal cards. This Gruffie was made for a friend that has just had more surgery, she has received her card so now I can blog it.

I used my new Cover a card die and added the rhinestones, the image was a little large for the oval die so I fussy cut the lilac before I cut it.  You have probably noticed I am in love with the new die.

Well this one is a little out of focus  but wanted to give a close up.

I am sliding in on the last day of the challenge at:

Thanks for visiting today and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

“Springtime” at House mouse & Friends Challenge Blog

Finally it’s springtime in South Western Ontario, at least until the weekend when the temp. dips again. We have had a couple of fabulous spring days this week. The challenge at House Mouse & Friends is to make a project with something on it that make you think of spring. Lilacs are always a favourite of mine in the spring, the scent from them is so fresh and sweet and there is a bush in the neighbour’s yard, very close to the “line”. Here is my springtime card.

It’s all about Winter!!!

At least that is what it says over at Use it Tuesday, the challenge is to use your stash and create a project that is all about winter. Now my image was  has been hanging around for over a year, I know there is one that is coloured as well but that one hasn’t surfaced yet. With the exception of the base of the card everything I used was from my scrap pile.  I used white flowersoft on the snow and the toque. The tub/sled was coloured with a clear spica glitter pen.  Here is what I think winter is all about and today we are getting the snow to have fun in.
                            Use it Tuesday - Winter
Thanks for stopping by today and there is still over 6 days to get in on the winter challenge at Use it Tuesday and use up some of your hoarded stash.
