Let the Reindeer Games Begin

I finally finished a card for the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge  ~~ Walking in a Whimsical Wonderland, and nothing is more whimsical than mice dressing up like  a reindeer, an angel and just being goofy. Time is of the essence as the challenge closes at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The image I used is a wood mount House Mouse Designs stamp, I cut the many layers with Elizabeth Craft Design stitched and scalloped rectangle die sets. The sentiment is a silver sticker.  The inside is to be finished when I find the suitable sentiment in my stamp jungle.

I am adding this to:
Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge ~~ Walking in a Whimsical Wonderland

Thanks for stopping by to check out what I've been crafting, and it's Holiday cards.

I Don't Sweat, I Sparkle

Welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash the prompt is to create a card with lots of sparkle, glitter, gems etc. Well I wasn't in the mood for loose glitter and with a cat that needs to be supervising that would be a disaster so I dug out a 6 X 6 pad that has glitter sheets and mirror cardstock I picked up at Dollarama and of course when you say glittery it spells Holiday card which I add to my 2026 holiday stash.

I made a 5 1/2 inch square card I use Elizabeth Craft Designs snowflake trio dies, I cut the large snowflake out of the glitter cardstock and the small one out of aqua mirror cardstock which I popped up and added an aqua gem. the snowflake was then flat attached to the white layer which was embossed with a Stampin'up softly falling embossing folder which was added to the glitter and a premade square base. I added the word JOY (found it in my bits box) just so the recipient knows which end is up.

I different angle to show the glitter

Finished the inside with a scrap of glitter cardstock and a very ancient wood mount stamp from the Artful Stamper.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the Main Blog and see what the rest of the team have glittered I hope you will be inspired to join the "I Don't Sweat, I Sparkle" challenge.

Wow I Made a Dude Card!!

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash where the theme is "Masculine", guys out number the gals in our family so I make at least 6 a year but when I sat down to make my card all of a sudden I had no ideas but saw a new fun fold  and with that design  I managed to get something together.  I certainly shopped my stash for long retired Stampin'up coffee dsp and the two cardstock that matched. The die set from Elizabeth Craft designs I  have had for over 5 years.

This is a Fold Back fun fold, very easy and quick card. I have more photo angles to show how it works but it would be better to check out a video. The sentiment is from a Photoplay birthday stamp set.
The coffee cup has foam tape to shape it.

Because I added foam tape to the inside of the cup I attached the cup to the right fold with a foam strip to it folded flat.

Last picture is the inside of the card and how it will stand alone.

Of course I'm adding this to:

Seize the Birthday ~~ Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today, don't forget to check out the SOS BLOG and see what fabulous masculine cards the rest of the team have made. I'm looking forward for some masculine ideas so get busy and add one, two or more to our gallery.

Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

Welcome to the February edition of the monthly Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, it must be the 1st Saturday of the new month because there is a New challenge.

Awesome graphics by Lee.

As you see it's W is for Winter although here in SWO it's been hit and miss with the snowflakes but I don't think I have seen the sun for weeks, it's wet, damp and dreary, it's looking like we might see some Sun on the weekend. So here is my offering for the W theme.

I coloured the grumpy kitty and did some fussy cutting on it to make the snowbank, I had bought a paper pad that is filled with galaxy backgrounds so used one, since I was in a time crunch to get it done, now looking for a scrap to use I found this snowflake embossed piece the perfect size. BONUS.  The sentiment also came with the set so I stamped and cut it with one of the speech bubble dies from Stampin' up.

Close up of the sentiment.

Finished the inside with a stamp from a set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. and a scrap of the the galaxy paper.

I would like to add this to:

Critter Crazy Challenges ~~ Anything Goes with a featured critter.

Thanks for  stopping by today and head over to the Main Blog and check out what the rest of the Sisters have made for the challenge, here's hoping to see your W is for Winter project in our gallery.

Winter Wonderland

Hello friends welcome to a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash!! For the next 2 weeks we are looking forward to seeing lots of Winter Wonderland cards, you can make a winter scene or an all White card.  Even being in Canada our winter wonderland is dull, drab and grey, we do have some lingering snow but to me it's just damp and drab. So I have dug deep into my stash and everything on my card is 2 years old or older.

Sorry for the terrible picture, windows updated and changed my photo program and now I can't see how bright the card is.  So I decided I wanted to make a wreath card with my favourite die from Gina Marie, I cut it twice and added some dimensionals between the two layers, added some white enamel dots from the Eyelet outlet  when I did a DT spot in 2017. I flat attached the wreath to the brick wall embossing folder layer which is on a scalloped square layer (EC designs). I cut 3 of each of the word dies 3 times and layered them these are the newest item at approximately 2-3 years young. Then it was added to a     5 1/2 inch square card base.

Close up of the wreath and winter words.

Finished the inside of the card with a favourite sentiment from Hero Arts.

I'm entering this in:

Rudolph Days ~~ January

ABC Christmas ~~ A is for Anything Christmas

Thanks for stopping by and it's time to get your Holiday cards started and I'm looking forward to seeing yours in the gallery.

Once Upon A Time......

Shopping Our Stash had a very good break and now it's time for our first Challenge of 2024!! Once Upon A Time so it's fairy tales, princesses, knights, dragons, if it isn't obvious let us know what the fairy tale is. I had some problems with this challenge, every fairy tale I thought of I had nothing to design it with so I went with a "new" fairytale made by Disney. If you can't guess what it is I will add it to the end of my post.

The image is a digital image from Lacy Sunshine and I have had it for a long time, sorry didn't take note of the date I downloaded it, but I have a lot of here images all of them were free.  I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Oval and Postage stamp Rectangle dies I added two extra layers of ovals under the image to elevate it. The inky background was a semi-fail attempt at blending and somehow it surfaced when I was putting the card together I did put it through a falling leaves SU embossing folder, of course I didn't check which way the inked side was on so instead of using the embossed "white" side I used the debossed. blended side.

I added a couple of leftover scraps and a Hero Arts vertical  ancient sentiment.

Now if you haven't guessed what my nursery rhyme is I will let you know it's Disney's Ariel from the Little Mermaid.

I am adding this to

Seize the Birthday ~~ #275 Embossing (I used dry embossing)

Thanks for stopping by today and I'm looking forward to seeing your Fairytale card in our gallery,

Whatever The Weather.....

Welcome to my blog today to check out the new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, it's an easy one this time,  Whatever the Weather!! Lots of choices Snow, Rain, Cloud or any other weather related idea.  Since I am in full speed ahead Christmas card mode I chose SNOW. We have had our first preview of Winter I wasn't impressed with it so I would like to cancel the rest of my subscription/

I have had this Olaf die for hmm 2 years, it was still in it's packaging, I had to clip all those tiny dies apart and hope for the best, I cut 2 of Olof, 2 each of the twig arms so they were stable and I glued them inside the two diecuts as I wanted to put Olaf on a Wobble. Being in a hurry I could only find a large wobble so he really dances around. I smooshed the watercolour background and stenciled the snow with texture paste. Let it Snow is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Close  up of Olaf and the stenciled snow.

Finished the inside with a scrap of blue and a sentiment from High Hopes Stamps (a Canadian store)
this stamp is at least  years old.

I am adding this to:

NBUS ~~ Challenge #57

Cut it Up ~~ # use mor than one die  I used 2

Thanks for stopping by today , don't forget to check out what "weather" the rest of the team have picked.

It's Rudolph Days!!!

I am unusually early with a card for Rudolph Days but there is a reason......I decided to try a new technique with a new product, well it really wasn't going well when I finished  "playing" I was covered in mica spray all three colours that I have and I really was disappointed in the purple as it didn't have a lot of shine, and I shook it well too. Now I never trow my fails out (unless they are really bad) and when I saw a post what do you have on your craft table the "fail" was there including the silver die cut I had planned on using and when I looked at it the green "fail" didn't look too bad so I finished it and I like how it came together. I am sure I just need practice using sprays. So there is my story about why I'm early to Rudolph Days.

I used the more textured side of the  paper, it does shine nicely too but sparkle never shows well in photos. The Snowflake die is the largest of three from Elizabeth Craft Designs and was flat attached.  Debating on adding some bling to the center of the snowflake.

Finished the inside with the smallest snowflake in the Elizabeth Craft Designs snowflake set and a vertical Hero Arts sentiment.

I'm adding this to:

Rudolph Days ~~ Novembeer

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are getting your Holiday cards done almost panic time.

I'm living the Embossable Dream.

Here I am with card #3 for the challenge at the Jingle Belles, I might not get a 4th done (I was trying to catch up since I missed (avoided) the sticker challenge, Lauren and Stephanie use stickers and they look awesome I use sticker and guess what, it looks just like stickers on a background, but I did want to keep up with my 2 cards for each challenge.

Surprise it's not a house mouse card, but I sure took myself out of my comfort zone and I love it!!
I used the Brick Wall embossing folder from Sizzix (Stampin'up) on watercolour paper to look like a brick wall, then cut 2 diecuts of Gina Marie leaf wreath die and flat attached. The sentiment die is from Elizabeth Craft Desgns and was flat attached as well, The bow is popped up. I also added some Starform glitter dots. to the wreath.

Finished the inside with an Impression Obsession sentiment and a scrap of green along with some die cut berries and a bow.

I'm adding this to:

The Jingle Belles Rock Challenge ~~ My Sweet Embossable You

ABC Christmas Challenge ~~ C and D (I chose D is for Dies)

Thanks for looking today and check back again to see if I have managed a 4th card.

My Sweet "Embossable" You!!

I'm back again with the second card using and embossing folder for the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge.  I do plan on a bit of a catch-up as I didn't get the 2 done for the last challenge (life gets in the way of crafting_  Again I used a House Mouse Designs stamp, I have a lot of them in my collection and are my favourite to colour.

I hope you sang the sentiment, pretty hard not to LOL. First I smooshed 3 shades of blue distress oxide ink on to watercolour paper I embossed it with Gently Falling Sizzix embossing folder from Stampin'up. first pass through I had the paper in wrong so turned it over and ran it through again, seems to give it more texture. I stamped and coloured the house mouse image and fussy cut it, added snowdrifts to set the knit boot in/ The sentiment is a die cut from Elizabeth Craft Deigns. Scalloped layer is cut with a Elizabeth Craft Designed scalloped square die set.

Finished the inside with a generic sentiment and scraps of cardstock.

I'm adding this to:

The Jingle Belles Rock Challenge ~~ My Sweet "Embossable" You

Thanks for stopping by today this is my second card for the "Embossable" challenge and there is still a bit of time to get at least one more done. Have a crafty day!!.

It's Pajama Day!!!

Hello friends it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and it's Pajama Day, we want to see a project inspired by your Pajamas. It was a tall order for me, I have one pair of very ancient (well it is shopping our stash) pajamas, being from Canada I only wear them on a "snow" day that we have been advised to stay home.  So here is a picture of my very well loved 'jammies.

These were my inspiration, it was a long process as I have skating mice, skating bunnies, skating penguins but do I have a skating bear? Nope so found a free digital image to use and this is my card.

Talk about shopping my stash, I don't usually emboss a lot but since my white ink wasn't "inky" enough I had to go etehe versamark watermark route using 2002 snowman/snowflake 6 piece set from Hero Arts, and my embossing  powder was from PSX.  The bear was coloured and fussy cut and popped up.

Closer look at the happy skater.

Finally the inside which I decided to heat emboss the sentiment which is years old and from High Hopes Stamps and  since there is no packaging I'm thinking somewhere between 10 and 15 years old..

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will use your pajamas as inspiration and enter the challenge, be sure to include a picture of your pajamas. Don't forget to head over to the Main Blog and check out the jammie cards the rest of the design team have made.

It's a Banner Day!!

The last Jingle Belle Rock challenge of the year is Banner Holiday, it's one of my favourite challenges too and I'm sneaking it in with one day to spare (better than last challenge) I haven't been keeping up with a lot of Challenges, there never seems to be time to craft, but today I made time the dishes can wait.  the challenge is to design a card using the Jingle Belles Blog Banner as inspiration....Here is mine.

I made a mini slimline card and used die cuts from Boss Cuts, Gina Marie, Impression Obsession and a mini stamp from Stampendous along with the background music freebie from the Jingle Belles.

Close up of Santa (looking for good points)

The inside was finished with a favouite Hero Arts sentiment (a prize from the Jingle Belles a couple of years ago) , of course while die cutting there are always extra so used a few on the inside.

I'm adding this to:

Rudolph Days for November ~~ haven't played much this year.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been crafting.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ~~ November

Hello friends it's time for the November challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge as always it's Anything Goes with the option of Santa.

The holidays will soon be sneaking up on us and now is the time to get busy with those holiday cards or you will not have enough hand crafted cards for your friends and family, and yes I'm just the same, I haven't been making as many as other years so it's time to step up the pace.
For my design team card I decided to use a very old wood mount stamp from Stampa Rosa/PSX  vintage Santa, so much colouing I  took lots of breaks to get it finished.

I love this stamp but I usually only make one each holiday season. I die cut it with Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched rectangle, layered it on red scalloped die cut from EC then on a gold layer cut with EC rectangle postage stamp die. For the sentiment I added a gold Noel which seemed to fit the image well.

Finished the inside with a favourite Hero Arts vertical sentiment and a couple of scraps left from the front of the cared.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog to check out the rest of the "Santa" cards that were created to inspire you to join in the challenge. Just a reminder Holiday time is sneaking up on us and if you don't have enough holiday cards to send it will be chaos in December, Now is the time to get a few more done.

Leaf Me Alone!!

Challenge #480 at Shopping Our Stash is Leaf Me Alone so we want to see Leaves on your project. I did some shopping my stash when I used some photo papers that I bought at a yardsale for 50 cents, they work great for alcohol inky backgrounds. Now my IO die set has been in a drawer for hmmm over 4 years never opened never used until now. First here is the inky sheets I made.

I made 4 sheets of the inky backgrounds. I have a extra large ziplock bag with a piece of cardstock zipped inside then scribble covering the bag with the cardstock as a guide, then spritz with rubbing alcohol and put the photo paper down on in (shiny side down) and pull it up it dries really fast too. When I got the bag out of it's "safe" place and started working I noticed a whole lot of teeth marks all over the one end of the bag, guess my hiding spot wasn't safe enough from my helper.

I dry embossed crumb cake cardstock with a fall embossing folder, "something" swirls. layered it on an Early Expresso mini slimline base, added a strip of brown to attach the leaves to and a vertical Happy Birthday diecut. This just might become my youngest grandson's card.

Closer look at the leaves and the EF.

Finished the inside with very vanilla, scrap of early expresso some extra leaves and one of my very first Hero Arts birthday sentiments. (very loved too)

I did finish the "A" planned card, what else would I do with mega leaf die cuts?

I used the same colours, leaves and embossing folder made a top loading A2 card. I attached the leaves to a circle and popped the whole circle up, the sentiment is an Impression Obsession die I've had for a while and never used it,

Closer look at the wreath of fall leaves.

Inside of the card I thought it would work for a Thanksgiving birthday, The circle is the large one from Elizabeth Craft Designs, I used the smaller one for the front then covered it up. Very vanilla cardstock and Versafine Sepia ink for the sentiment.

Thanks for completing the marathon of picture, glad you made it, now head over to the SOS Blog and check out the rest of the design team's projects.
