The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 1

Woo Hoo I have the first tag done for the 25 days of Christmas Tags challenge , I played along  or rather was "pushed" along by Lindsey a couple of years ago and it was fun, I'm hoping to find time to keep up this year. Of all the tags for inspiration I chose Lindsey's tag, you will find it HERE

I used Joyful Christmas set from Stampin'up I used Egyptian Gold embossing powder on velum, added some Starform red/gold dots to the center (covering up the adhesive) Cut the oval and embossed twice with the Egyptian gold embossing powder cut with a smaller circle and glued it to an oval base, added a pop of colour with the sentiment and attached a red ribbon with a gold cord.

I'm adding this to:
The 25 days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 1 Altenew is the sponsor

It's Ombre' time at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

Welcome to the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.......O is for Ombre'. I checked out Jennifer Maguire's video on backgrounds with distress oxide inks and took a few pointers from her.  I also took a few pointers from Edna as you will see soon.

Isn't Edna fancy shmancy in her ombre' dress....thank you Lee you are a jewel.

First I stamped Filigree background stamp (long retired from Stampin'up) with versamark watermark ink and embossed it in white embossing powder. Using TH distress oxide peacock feathers I covered the background in a an ombre' fashion then taking a soft cloth cleaned off any ink that was on the white embossing.  Then added the SMILE die cut. My inspiration for my card was both the sketch and the "Mint" colour from the current Fusion challenge.

Close up of the sentiment

Well I did have to add a smidgen of snark with a sentiment from Printworks

I am entering this in:

Fusion Card Challenges ~~ Used both the sketch and the photo colours

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team's projects they are awesome and will give you the inspiration to try this awesome technique.

It's Tic - Tac - Toe Time at Shopping Our Stash!!

It's Mimi's time to pick the challenge for Shopping Our Stash and that's exactly what it was for me when I tried to decide which line I would attempt.  I'm so much into Holiday cards I had trouble focusing on anything but holidays. So here is the challenge board.

Lots of choice, just remember the center square is Stash more than 5 years old and tell us what it is.

I chose the diagonal line bottom left to top right
smooshing technique/stash more than 5 years old/ heat embossing

Of course my background is the alcohol marker smooshing technique done in as many greens as I have The image is a Stampin'up two step stamping set called Solemn Stillness dated 2004 (it qualifies) I stamped the tree in Memento green and heat embossed the gold on top.  Note to self do not use Versafine if you are using embossing powder.

Close up of the embossing because this is a wood mounted set it gave me a bit of trouble lining it up, was wondering if it would be better to unmount it. Check out that background.

Not sure I'm thrilled with the gold embossing on the green but it's legible.

Closer look at the sentiment.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog and see what the rest of the design team have made.

Embossed Trees.......

Lindsey is the Muse at Christmas Visions,
I loved her second card and thought I would give it a whirl. I had a bit of break while packing up my crafty stuff at the cottage to play along.  We still have to finish closing up the cottage so we are heading back for the weekend.  Once I get everything home it will be a fun time finding homes for everything, you know how things gravitate to an open spot.  So here is my card for the challenge.

One of my first tree stamps I bought was this Scribble Tree, I embossed it in Pewter, gold and copper. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin'up set, Painted Poinsettia, I added some glitter washi tape to tie in with the turquoise base.

Here is Lindsey's card

On to the inside of my card.

I embossed the inside sentiment too. I haven't done wet embossing for so long and it was fun. I can see more embossing in the future.

I'm entering this in:

Thanks for stopping by today and check out this challenge it is a fun one.

You Stamped with What? is the Question at Shopping Our Stash!!!

Shopping Our Stash challenge is You Stamped with What? that means to use something you don't normally stamp with. The design team was far more adventurous than I was, you need to check them out. First my card then what I stamped with.  There are a few more pictures than normal.

Stardream paper, gold posterboard and gold trim, a Memory Box snowflake die and most are over 2  years old and longer for the die and gold trim retired from Stampin'up.

Now what I used!!!

A medium sized acrylic block and a bevy of elastics, versamark water mark ink.

I inked and stamped, inked and stamped crisscrossing on the gold posterboard then embossed it in gold. This was my base for the ornaments.

As you see all ornaments are the same colour, I elevated them on the blue stardream paper and the embossing folder is a cuttlebug winter pack I received many years ago and love it.

Finished the inside with a favourite sentiment and I carried the ornament theme to the inside.

Thanks for stopping by today and do check out the Main Blog and see what the rest of the team have used for their "stamping". Then figure out what you want to "stamp" with and don't forget to tell us what it was you used, make it fun and creative.

Emboss Like A Boss!!!!!

Challenge #320 at Shopping Our Stash is "emboss like a boss" we want to see both wet and dry embossing on your project. Not sure about you but other than doing some emboss resist I haven't done wet embossing in a long time and it was so much fun to pair it with a cool embossing folder.

First I made the background with distress oxide ink and then ran it through the music embossing folder from Darice.

Using tips from Jennifer Maguire I  cut 3 Hero Arts large snowflakes in white and glued them together, then using versamark watermark I embossed it in clear embossing powder 3 times, just look at that shine. I added a Eyelet Outlet clear bumpy bling dot to the center. You can just see the music background in the picture.

The let it snow die cut is from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I also cut three of these in a teal cardstock and embossed it in clear then I heated it up and sprinkled some Art Glitter Agean blue glitter (if was a freebie I got at last 7 years ago)

Finished the inside with a 2005 Stampabilities Christmas sentiment.

Not only was this card inspired by the challenge it was inspired by the current challenge at the
Jingle Belles Rock

I am entering this in"

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Your favourite Christmas music option use sheet music.
I used a music embossing folder

That was a lot of fun and mess to make this card,  when you wet emboss three times it sure makes the image smooth and shiny.

Thanks for hanging  here today and head over to the main blog and check out the rules and see what the rest of the awesome design team have made.

The Embossing Powder Challenge #85 Continues

Welcome to another Monday challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad one week is over but you still have another week to join the fun of embossing on your project.  The sponsor is Stamp On It for this challenge.
IMG_2110
This is the card I made for the challenge and for a friend that has had surgery, I’m hoping it cheered her up. I saw the design on one my favourite blogs, Frenchie Stamps and was posted by her friend in Canada. I was so excited as I had everything to make this card. Stamp set from Stampin’up called Secret Garden in hand but the dies that go with it were not where they should have been so after searching for a while I decided to go old school and fussy cut them.  The flowers were stamped on vellum with versamark watermark and embossed in pewter embossing powder then coloured with SU’s in colour markers on the reverse side from the embossing. The crocheted mat was made by Jessi, isn’t it just a beautiful backdrop for the flowers click on her name and check them out she has them for sale. Although you can’t see it very well the strip of turquoise is dry embossed with butterflies.

Time for a New Challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad!!

Another Monday has rolled around again and there are only a few days left in April. The Cheerful Stamp Pad has a new challenge for you, we want you to get out the embossing powders and make a project. I don’t know if you have been neglecting doing heat embossing I know I haven’t done much in the last while I’m sure your heat gun will be happy for the work. Challenge #85 is sponsored by Stamp On It.
IMG_2115
This card was very easy to do, the stamp is from Stampendous and is called Wisemen. I used pewter embossing powder on violet stardream cardstock, layered on silver then on black for the base.
IMG_2116
Here is a different look at the card, it is very difficult to get a really good picture of it. I will be so glad when I can get outside to take the pictures.

The inside just waiting for the sentiment.
