Hippity Hop

It's finally Spring (at least on the calendar) the tulip and daffodils are growing and if we could just have more sun and it a little warmer they will be blooming by Easter.  It is amazing how fast two weeks flies by it seemed like I just posted a card for Shopping Our Stash and it's time for a new challenge so for this fortnight we want to see and Easter card or a card featuring a rabbit or a chick. I'm sure you have a couple in your stash, I know I have a few. Since we shop our stash I went back to March 2022 Crop and Create virtual crop and dug out the Hero Arts class which I hadn't done, everything I used was in the package, Stamp set. stencil and all cardstock enough to make 3 different cards.

Now I don't often stencil but I followed the instructions except I added the purple base (I just don't like one layer cards) I coloured and fussy cut the flower and bunny, Happy Easter is from a retired SU set.

Closet look at the bunny and flowers

The horizontal easel card folds flat for mailing, because of the added cardstock it didn't want to fold flat for the photoshoot.
Stay tuned for more projects from March 2022 Crop & Create.

Thanks for stopping by and check out the great projects the rest of the Design Team have made.

Fractured Mini Slimline Cards.....

Hello again, yes these Fractured cards are really addictive and I tried the technique on a mini slimline card. I love the mini slimline cards for putting a bit of "folding money" in it fits perfect with no folding an end over. While searching for something in my stash of "stuff" a long diamond die set popped up, never even been taken apart, so you know it's a NBUS. When I saw it I immediately thought I could make a fractured mini slimline card using it instead of a square, it did take some extra time to cut the 1/4 inch strip ends so the next one fit perfect. I did use just a single piece of patterned paper as it was my first try, next I will try one with different pieces of paper.

Of course I needed to use my house mouse Easter stamps, I coloured and fussy cut (what a nightmare) and popped them up of the diamond shape. Both patterned paper was from 2 different paper pads from Bo Bunny.

This one has Maxwell Mouse holding his supply of Easter Eggs. Beside the card is the set of Diamond dies now detached from each other but I need to get them in a CD case with a magnetic pad.

I think this is Monica Mouse having a nap after eating all the  filling from the Easter Creme Egg.

I am entering this in these challenges:

NBUS ~~ Challenge 61

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge ~~ Use some Designer Paper

Critter Crazy Challenge ~~ Challenge #85 anything goes with a critter.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week.

B is for Bunny

Happy April Fool's Day and the joke is on me, I just couldn't get things together this past 2 weeks, between trying for 4 days to get a temporary diver's license and two birthdays I was a  little stuck for time but I'm happy to say my project is done and I like it. So the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is...................

What an awesome "bunny" Edna makes.

On to my mini slimline card.

Lot's of die cutting and gluing tiny, tiny thing. The background was made with oxide inks and smooshing, the flower line-up is cut in white and coloured, it's a die from Dollar Tree. The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with Stampin' up word bubbles.

Closer look at the sentiment.

Inside is ready for a sentiment  and I used a section of the flower line-up.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out what the rest of the deign team have made (they were all on time).

Happy Easter!!

Now that I have delivered the Easter treats I can show you the bags I made for the Great Grands. I upcycled a couple of bags I got from the Vet when I picked up food, they are really nice and heavy although didn't like glue as well as they did tape.

Since I was making bunny ATCs for A Tiny Craft Challenge I cut a few well maybe more than a few extra eggs but not many extra bunnies. I stamped a little more than half the basket and one handle (it makes a full basket) with co-ordinating Simon says Stamp ink and fussy cut them out. The basket stamp is from Limited Edition (long island)  I taped it over the logo on the bag.

I also had to make a card for Cal. and used a House Mouse Easter stamp.

I cut the largest egg in purple and the second largest (which would have been perfect for an ATC) in the polka dot cardstock. Coloured Maxwell, fussy cut and popped him on a wobble, I took another chance die cutting HAPPY and gluing it right side up this time. (I read the whole word before placing it) I also cut a mini card easel for it. The Egg dies are a NBUS, I'm not sure how long I've had them at least 1 year or longer.

Closer look at how Maxwell sits on the wobble.

The bags were filled with their favourite candy, Reeces Peanut butter anything.

Since I used a NBUS set of Egg Dies I'm entering this in:

NBUS ~~ #37

Thanks for stopping by and I had a lot of fun upcycling those bags.

A Tiny Craft (ATC) #8 Bunnies

Welcome to the April challenge at A Tiny Craft (ATC) challenge, the theme for this month is Bunnies. Since it's Easter weekend there should be all kinds of bunnies in craft land. I had fun with all the die cutting for my ATCs.

I made each one with different colour bunnies and eggs as well as the bases and sentiment, I love the font on those sentiments and I use them a lot. There are 10 sentiments in the set.  Now if you have been reading my blog you might remember my Easter card from Tuesday and the green strip of cardstock that I just had to change, I had to go with it for my blog due to being late getting my project done, Well you will give a good giggle over this second faux pas.....Happy is glued upside down, in my defense I was rushing and I only saw the h and the y, it's the fault of the font and now I bet you went back and looked to see what I was talking about.

A closer look at each ATC.

First up is the chocolate bunnies with the purple accents and the right side up HAPPY.

Next up is the white chocolate bunnies with the yellow accents and the word SHINE.

Third ATC is the grey bunnies with lime green accents which spells FUN.

Last we have the black bunnies with tempting turquoise saying HELLO.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for taking a peek at what I have made for A Tiny Craft (ATC) challenge and don't forget to check out the awesome Bunnies the rest of the team have made, then get busy and make 1 or 2 or maybe a set of bunny ATCs we would love to have you join the fun, but try not to glue anything upside down.

Something is a little Different at Shopping Our Stash!!

Challenge #468 is a SKETCH and a pretty good one, hope you like it.

I made a 5 1/2 inch square card to accommodate the size of the stamp which is from House Mouse Designs and I have had it for a few years and it has never seen ink  Now seeing the green strip of grass in the picture I am really not happy with it. I might have to change it as that is all I see when I look at the card and I have an idea but as all of you know blog posts have to be done ahead but if it works out you will see the "new" and "improved" card at the end.

The Sweet sentiment was die cut three times and glued together to elevate it.

And here is the new & improved (it has my approval now) card, ready to be hand delivered to a friend.

I added some dimensional strips to pop the layer up and added some green to the center section of the strip of white. I'm much happier with this card the sweet Monica on the Easter egg is the focal point.

Finished the inside of the card with a Happy Easter die cut and some super cute egg die cuts which it's my first time cutting them, next trip to the big shot I will dust the dies with a used dryer sheet so the little bits don't stick.

I will be adding this to:

NBUS ~~ Challenge #37.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the MAIN BLOG to see how the rest of the design team have interpreted the sketch.

Digging through my "Never Been Used Stuff" (NBUS)

When I saw the Inkspirational Challenge my thoughts went to the Easter Egg Die from Elizabeth Craft Designs can you imagine my surprise when I realized I had never even opened it, I think it's at least 4 years old and I have no idea why I have never used it, it's so lovely it doesn't need to be just Easter.

The fancy part of the egg was cut from white stardream cardstock layered on the sparkly cardstock I found at a dollar + store. There are 2 each of 5 different ombre colours. I cut the sentiment out of the same glitter cardstock and twice out of heavy weight white cardstock and layered them.

Side view to show how the sentiment looks and at the back the small bit was cut off the base so it stands on it's own. I watched a video from Elizabeth Craft Designs on how to do this.

I don't think I needed to cut so much off but the first cut I made was not straight, you know the old saying measure twice cut once. The egg shape I used for the sentiment is also a NBUS, the sentiment is a very vintage Hero Arts wood block sentiment

I am entering this in:

Here Comes Peter Cottentail...........

Easter is just around the corner and I'm still making Easter cards which is great as Shopping Our Stash has a new challenge "Here Comes Peter Cott
ontail"  focusing on Easter, Passover or Bunnies.

I made 6 ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) I have some Kinder Eggs and needed a little card to go with them for the two little girls next door and the two boys down the street that made cookies and cards for me and some other neighbours during the beginning of the pandemic, they also helped their Mom shovel my driveway for me in the winder. Two are also for my great grandsons. Chocolate bunnies for the boys and white bunnies for the girls. I don't often get to make girl cards so every chance I get Victoria and her sister get one.

Background was made with distress oxide ink, the bunny die is from Gina Marie Designs and the clouds are Impression Obsession die. Happy Easter is from an old Stampin'up tiny sentiment set. The grass is cut with a slimline landscape die.

Closer look at the girly white bunny card. I am hoping to make three more for the neighbour's grandchildren at the lake, give me a reason to have a drive on Saturday.
I am hoping to send small easel stands with these and a note to say they are collectables which fit in a hockey card holder.

I had a whole bunch of fun gluing all the little things, especially the clouds they are not very big at all.

Stash used.....bunny die at least 3 years old
cloud die set 4  or 5 years old
all bunnies and clouds were using scraps

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fantastic Easter to those who celebrate.

Three of a Kind

I'm not playing poker today I'm entering a challenge, just because I like to push myself do do something I am not really good at.......CAS. The Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge is Three of a Kind , I had the image cut for another challenge, I'm happy they found a home.

These thre bunny die cuts are adorable and just needed to be a slimline card (3.5 X 8.5 inches) The background behind the bunnies is a DI oxide background that was floating around, Because the bunny frame is white I did put a very tiny border so it can be seen as the layer is white as well. so sorry about those tiny stars but I had an opportunity to embellish (a missed pencil mark)  I added the pink ears, and after I inlaid them I though oh the nose then I saw the size, never happened.

Here is the inside, a Happy Easter die cut and a few little white bunnies in the grass which is a slimline die from a set of landscape dies.

I am entering this in:

Happy Little Stampers ~~ CAS Three of a Kind

Happy Little Stampers ~~ Anything Goes with Dies.

Thanks for visiting today and have a lovely week,

It's Time for a New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash

Hello friends, family and followers it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and the theme it Happy Passover, Happy Easter or Happy Spring. I chose to showcase a couple of Easter cards I made for my great grandsons although with the social distancing I think I am now putting them in the mail, they will be a little late but at least they will get to see them before summer.  I have time to craft and really haven't been doing much at all, I have great ideas, perhaps I get overloaded with ideas and then don't do any, time to remedy that one.  I always try to make a different fold, different technique or something moving and I'm running out of ideas especially since there are two. Here is what I came up with for this year.

Something I have not made in eons, a Waterfall card, of course I went looking for tutorials and there are many some very hard to follow but I used Dawn's Stamping Studio tutorial, it's the one I have always used. I made just a card front and a trivet to go with it. Talk about using stash, nothing on this card is less than 5 years old with the exception of the bunny dies which are probably a year or more but never been die cut before. The brads and ribbon are about 10 years.

Since I don't have three or four hands (would be nice some days) I couldn't hold the card operate the waterfall and take a video at the same time, so this will give you and idea of how it worked.

Next is a "Spring" card I made for the younger great grandson.

There were a few tutorials some were 5 1/4" square but because the bunny wasn't that big I made it
4 1/4 inch square. It is called a spring card as it "springs" up when taken out of the envelope. These are really great cards for a graduate card.
This is called Lucky Bunny and is from Elizabeth Craft Designs

The bunny is a great frustration builder, all those many parts but it was fun.

Another great stash buster, I think I've had the bunny die for 3 years and it was the first time I have played with it, the rest of the card was made out of scraps. My scrap file box is getting too full I need to make more use of the scraps that are in there,

I'm entering this in:

An Easter Card for the Kids.

I had so many ideas for Easter cards for the two little ones but it took me so long to get the first one done the other just didn't make it. (I have a cute bunny for next year)

I had this side step card base hanging out of my desk for a while and thought it was perfect for the super cute "freebie" image from Bugaboo Designs.  I thought the "eggs" would be perfect I didn't have an egg die so just used a couple of different sizes ov ovals and some scraps of patterned paper, To fill in under the "eggs" I used grass die cuts and some chocolate bunnies. The grass die is from Impression Obsession and the bunnies are from Gina Marie. I bet this is the shortest blog post I've ever made.

Thanks for checking out what I've been crafting over the weekend.

Happy Easter!!!

Hello friends, family and followers, although I haven't been doing a lot of crafting, life seems to have gotten in the way of crafting and I'm still having trouble creating, hope things soon get better.  The weather is trying to warm up and soon we will be making our weekend trips to the cottage. I will have internet there this year, going to the library wasn't fun last year not to mention the 24 mile round trip. Anyway I took some time Thursday morning to make an Easter card for a friend.

I used the whole piece of alcohol ink background on this card, I mounted the oval over the hole that was cut in the background. I popped the center star up and added a pearl.

A simple gold Happy Easter die cut to finish the inside.
My friend loved her card and mentioned she sill had the one from last year isn't that sweet.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope your Easter is filled with good food and family.
