Rudolph Days ~~ April

Here it is April 30 and I'm slipping in at the last minute for Rudolph days and slipping in with Canada Revenue too. I really don't like to cut it so close but both are done now and this will be a very quick post.

I've had this super cute bugaboo designs image coloured for a while now, it was die cut with stitched tag dies. I added a bow, the Joy brad and a couple of gold snowflakes that were in a box of die cuts. Score!!! wow coloured image and snowflakes already to use.

It's time for a New Challenge at House Mouse and friends!!

Wow I can't believe another two weeks have gone by and it's my third challenge as guest designer at the House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge Blog. We are having some off and on again nice weather which means one day I'm wearing sandals next I'm wearing fleece . Challenge #265 at HMFMC is always Anything Goes with the option for this challenge is "Be Square" I'm getting into the square cards lately and they are fun. All you need to do to enter is make a card with a House Mouse, a Happy Hopper or a Gruffie. I chose to go with the option of a Square card and I used a Happy Hopper.

The stamp I used is Chocolate Decandence and the happy hopper is "Hop-it"
What goes better with Chocolate than pink, I love them together. lots of layers using Spellbinders square dies and the pink frame is fleur dis lis square die.

Look at the happy look on his chocolate covered face.

Finished the inside with a Stampworks sentiment and some leftover pink and patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge blog and see what fabulous inspiration the design team have made.

Challenge #351 at Shopping Our Stash is ~~ Mythical and Magical and it's a two-fer!!!

Another week has flown by and finally our weather is getting nice, we will have a really warm week, the flowers don't look too bad, the crocus are blooming and the daffodils still look healthy.  On with the challenge at Shopping Our Stash which is mythical and magical so dig out those fairies, unicorns or what every you have that fits the theme.  I chose a digital image from Selena Fenech, I have had it for a while and thought it was too intricate to work with but since the deadline was looming I printed it off an coloured it with my copics.

I used soft pink and lavender for the unicorn's mane and tail, soft pink for the dress, layered this on pink pirouette, and popped up with a piece of fun foam. I added a scalloped layer which I used some gold sticker strips from Starform. (these must be 10 years old)

Close up, I added stickles to the flowers and the unicorn's horn as well as a touch on the mane and tail.

finished inside with a scrap of pink and a fern (from my box of die cuts)

As I said it's a Two-fer and I made a second card just because the Bugaboo image was so darned cute!

As you see I'm still in my lime green mode, I left the blue off this time. This super cute baby troll was a freebie from Bugaboo stamps about three Fridays ago (there is a free image every Friday) I wanted to make him into a shaker card using a Impression Obsession shaker cup (easiest way to make a shaker)  The shaker cups are about two years old although I have smaller ones that are way older than that.

Just so you can get a closer look at the adorable troll and the $$ store beads.

I cut the HB in black and in lime (a bit of tweaking is in order) I layered the two diecuts for extra dimension.

I would like to enter this in:

I Joined the Twofer Card challenge #4 ~~ Pets

I have wanted to join in the fun at the Twofer Card challenge since they started and I always ran out of time, now I'm sure cutting it a bit close this time, I have until the 24th which is tomorrow.  I used a Penny Black stamp Acrocat.

As per instructions both cards side by side, I made a Birthday card and a Christmas card.

Up first is the birthday card, Stitched squares in shades of purple, popped up with fun foam on some $$ store paper. I love the pansies and they make it feel like spring.

Inside finished with one of my oldest Hero Arts sentiment stamps Special Birthday from 2002, I also carried the purple/floral theme to the inside.

I'm using up scraps, just in case you remember the plaid paper for some other cards,  With this card I used Elizabeth Craft Designs scalloped rectangles and gold frame was cut from a scrap of gold as was the Merry Christmas, The hook for the ornament was an off cut from another die cut.

Finished the inside with an Impression Obsession sentiment.

I'm entering this in these challenges.

It's Saturday!! The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers has a new challenge ~~ X is for Xyloid!!!

Happy Saturday!!! X is for Xyloid at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, now before you go to Google Xyloid I'll give you a hint ~~ Wood Like. Well that leaves it wide open to your interpretation.

I was a lucky lady to receive an envelope with this super "cute" Tim Holtz crazy cats in it, they were all die cut beautifully, I now have a small set of them but I'm going to use the gifted ones until they are gone, a lot less work on my part, thank you Lindsey.
So for my card I used distress oxide ink for the sky, Hardwood background stamp from Stampin'up (I do believe it's retired)  The grass is two die cuts from an Impression Obsession die. Sentiment is computer generated.

Close up of one cat and the sentiment

Keeping with the "old" theme I used a Studio G stamp from the $2 bin at Michaels and a left over piece of the hardwood fence.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog to check out the rules and see what the rest of the design team have made for X is for Xyloid.

Challenge #350 at Shopping Our Stash is ~~~ YO DUDE!!!

Chris's turn to pick the challenge theme at Shopping Our Stash!!! Yo Dude ~~ make a masculine card!!! I need to ramp up my making of some dude cards so here is a start.

I had lots of ideas but I wanted to use the mustache brads from the Eyelet Outlet,  The stash items are the brads, and the patterned paper that is a pack from the dollar store that is a couple of years old.  I also haven't used that 3/4 inch scalloped punch for years. Happy Birthday isn't so old and I've used it a couple times, I think it's the perfect masculine one.

Close up of the stars of the show~~the mustache brads.

Finished the inside with a bit of patterned paper that was leftover and a favourite sentiment from Stampworks.

Thanks for joining me here today and head over to the main blog and check out the rules and all the Dude cards the rest of the design team have made.

House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge #264~~Let's Eat

Woo hoo it's my second post as Guest Designer at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.  My favourite stamps are from House Mouse Designs and I have quite a collection,  I have both wood mount and cling stamps but there is nothing more comfortable than a wood block stamp in my hands. The challenge for the next fortnight is as always Anything Goes but there is an option theme if you would like to use it and that theme is Let's Eat.

The stamp I used is Blueberry Dessert, coloured with alcohol markers layered with the original spellbinders circles I did use some wink of stella on the blueberries.

Close up of the super cute little mousey.

Finished inside of the 5 1/4 inch square card using a couple of leftovers from the outside of the card.

Thanks for joining me here today and I do hope you will take some time to join in the fun at House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge for the Anything goes with the option of Let's Eat, remember you have to use a house mouse, happy hopper or a gruffie stamp on your project.

Orange Inspiration is the Name of the Game at the Jingle Belles!!!

Orange you glad it's Christmas at the Jingle Belles Rock challenge. There is an inspiration picture on the blog and who would have thought you could find one with orange in the picture, that being said Orange is not one of my go to colours but for Christmas? never!!! but I managed to find some patterned paper with guess what? Orange in it.  I haven't a clue why I would buy it let alone make sure I had two of them. Here is what I picked out of the inspiration picture to use.

Below you will find the inspiration picture. I chose the white tree, the orange ribbon and green ornaments on the tree, The bakers twine I used is ornage and white striped like the jars on the mantle and the white frame around the tree is picked from the design on the blanket at the bottom of the picture. the window also reminded me of the mantle and the shelves and of course the orange.

Next is a closeup of the tree.

I took some tiny pearls and coloured them with a green copic marker

finished the inside with a favourite sentiment well the one that was still on my table from the last Christmas card I made lol.

Headed To The Beach!!!

It's Mimi's turn to pick the challenge for Shopping Our Stash and she chose Headed to the Beach, evidently her weather is much nicer than mine here in SWO as we have been waking to snow and cold so I know I'm not going to be at the beach until it's warmer.  I went to my favourite stamp store for my image for the challenge....House Mouse Designs, I really just went to my room and found it.

Isn't this a cute scene, the little mousie playing beach ball with a crab.  As you see I'm still in my blue and lime phase, I hope it phases out soon.  I haven't use this image and had it for a couple of years, the papers were also a couple of years old, it's also time to re-order pacific point cardstock. I added the one lonely seashell brad as it was my last one and a cute green sand pail brad both from the Eyelet Outlet Store.

I found a couple of clouds sitting on my table I don't even know how long ago I die cut them and why were they still on my table, best I start cleaning the table off when I'm done crafting lol. like that might happen. Don't look too close but I see there are a few spots to touch up on the beach ball, funny they are so noticeable when you take a picture and they are not IRL.  I also added some stickles to the lines to show the motion of the ball.

Carried the patterned paper to the inside and added a sentiment from Stampworks.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the MAIN BLOG check out the rules and see the beachy cards the rest of the design team have made.

It's Saturday and a NEW Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

Happy Weekend!! It's still NOT spring here in SWO (south western Ontario) we have had snowflurries and there were white-outs and rumor has it there is more on the way.  Well that's fine with me I get to stay in and craft!!! Back to the challenge~~~#107 U is for Umbrella!!! So lets see those umbrellas and if you check out the main blog you will see how many different ideas the team have thought of.  Me I went with the basic rainy day umbrella (the snark is inside) it took me forever to find an image I wanted to use and decided on a digital image from Meljen's digis, I need to expand my collection of umbrellas lol.

First as I said it's a digi from Meljens digital images.  I picked the paper before I coloured the image so picked blue and green to match some of the umbrellas on the paper. Both papers are from a paper pad I bought at the $$ store last year. I also wanted to use the current sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Closer look so you an see the raindrops and puddles on the paper.

and now the snark

Sentiment found and computer generated and I added some of the patterned papers left over from the front of the card.

I want to enter this in:
Tuesday Morning sketches ~~ #447 I flipped the sketch.

Finally the last of my Easter Cards

I only made 4 Easter cards this year, one for a challenge and it went to a good friend of mine, the second and third were for my two great grandsons, they like them too.  I quickly made this card for another friend, I love to just surprise her with a card every once in a while.

The cross was made with the Sizzix lattice die I bought eons ago from Stampin'up, since it is square you have to cut a few pieces out to make the cross, The background was made with a stencil I bought at Dollar Tree,(it is sticky backed too to hold it down) I sponged distress oxide inks over it. I thought it made the card more "Eastery" Finished with some leaf diecuts and some white paper flowers from the Eyelet Outlet.

Two different sentiment dies were used, I have one set that has Birthday, Wishes, Happy and Blessings and thought the blessings was perfect for the lady I made it for. She sure was surprised and happy.

Thanks for stopping  by today and have a wonderful weekend.

2018 Stamping for Autism Awareness Blog Hop

I can't believe I just found  out about this blog hop, I have participated  in it other years but I'm not too late yet there is still 3 days left on the ticker.  I really used up a lot of pieces that were just laying around. Everything on this card came from making other cards.

The "wild flowers" were cut out of a scrap of stardream paper, The sponged  layer was  a white scrap I used three colours of DI ink, the navy layer was also a scrap, And lastly the teal base was just sitting on the pile and I thought ooh that picks up a colour in the sponged piece and I even spattered it with water with some success. I have not put a sentiment on it as I need a few cards for anything that might just pop up.

Semi finished inside with the last of the wild flower die cuts. I really like having some cards available that can be used for any occasion and this fits that criteria.

What is Black & White & ONE other Colour? The Challenge at SOS

Challenge # 348 at Shopping Our Stash is ~~ Black and White and one other colour. Oh the possibilities. I love black & white cards but usually team it with RED but today I really strayed from the norm.

I haven't used this butterfly stamp in a long time, it's probably 15 years old and from a company that has been sold but a lot of their stamps are still available at The Frogs Whiskers There is a die that goes with the stamp but I chose to fussy cut it out.  The butterflies were stamped in versafine black and embossed in clear embossing powder before colouing with a single copic marker.  The long rectangle spellbinders dies are rarely out of the box but I used them for this image. Patterned paper was bought earlier this year at the local dollar + store. The yellow accent cardstock was a scrap from the file folder box. Ribbon although still available from Stampin'up has been in my ribbon box for many years.

Close up to how how I elevated three of the butterflies.

Semi-finished inside, I decided I was very low on some generic cards that can be used for multiple occasions, I think it would work as a Sympathy, thinking of you, get well and even a birthday card. I even think you could send it to a man.

Thanks for coming by today and I am so looking forward to see what you add to black and white to make a card for our challenge. Don't forget to head over to the Main Blog and see what extra colour the rest of the design team have used.

It's Monday and Time for a NEW Challenge at HMFMC!!!

I am so excited, I won another stint as a Guest Designer at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge!!! I'm such a fan of House Mouse and friends stamps and this is my all time favourite challenge.  The challenge is always Anything Goes but you can use the optional theme and challenge 263's option is Multiple Images. I did ask the question that you are all thinking of and yes it can be one stamp with multiple images on it or you can merge two or more images to one card. Clear as mud right? Well just head over to the HMFMC blog and they will clarify it for you and see what the design team has done.

I have wanted to make this designed card ever since I got the camera image and the camera was already coloured in my box of images so it was just figuring how to make the film strip. Years ago I bought the punch which I have no idea what it is called but knew I could make a faux film strip with it. I picked three of my small single mousey stamps and place them on the strip. The card is 5 1/2 inches square and the patterned paper is from a paper pad I found at our local Dollarama and I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.

The image was fussy cut and popped up on dots.

Not quite finished inside, since I wasn't sure who this was for I decided to leave off the sentiment on the front and the verse on the inside.

Thanks for looking today and I have more weeks to join HMFM as a Guest Designer.
