Baby It's Cold Outside!!

Hello fellow crafters, I'm finally slipping in with a card for the current (soon to end) challenge at Christmas Kickstart. When I saw the prompt "Brimming with Style" which means Hats I knew I had the perfect House Mouse image to make a winter card. Thank goodness we have finally passed (fingers crossed) the need for winter hats, bring on the face shading straw hats. So here is my card for the challenge.

Being a Winter card I decided to use my favourite colour....Purple I like non-traditional colours for Christmas as well. The sentiment is a wood block stamp from Impression Obsession/

Finished the inside with a Stampendous Cling Mount Sentiment stamp.

I am adding this to:

Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~~ Brimming with Style

Thanks for stopping by today as you can see I'm making progress with my Holiday Cards, hopefully there will be less stress in November.

Let the Reindeer Games Begin

I finally finished a card for the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge  ~~ Walking in a Whimsical Wonderland, and nothing is more whimsical than mice dressing up like  a reindeer, an angel and just being goofy. Time is of the essence as the challenge closes at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The image I used is a wood mount House Mouse Designs stamp, I cut the many layers with Elizabeth Craft Design stitched and scalloped rectangle die sets. The sentiment is a silver sticker.  The inside is to be finished when I find the suitable sentiment in my stamp jungle.

These are a Few of my Favourite Things

Hello and welcome November and a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash. Challenge #560 is A Few of My Favourite Things which means make a card with two or more of your favourite things and tell us what they are. Here is what I came up with some of my favourite things.

My first favourite item is House Mouse Designs stamps, I bought my first one from a yard sale before I even started stamping over 25 years ago, second item is "fun folds" I love to pair a fun fold with the House Mouse images I am constantly looking for and trying new folds, my third item is fussy cutting as you see the leaves are fussy cut and popped up on the image.  I could make a huge list of favourite things.

Here is the back of the card, perfect for my "favourite" vertical Hero Arts Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and check out the SOS blog and see the favourite things the rest of the team have used on their cards.

Juggling Raspberries

Hello and welcome back to a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash the prompt is Eat Five a Day!! that is important information from the food guide, do you follow the "rule"? Make a card with either a fruit or vegetable or both, looking forward to see what you like the best. One of my favourites is in season right now, I picked a House Mouse stamp that has Amanda juggling raspberries.

As always when I go to the cottage I forget things and one item was pop dots so I picked some up at Len's Mills but they are really much thicker than mine that are home. I seem to be in a Red/Pink phase but when I saw this paper in the pile I thought how it matched the raspberries.

side view to see the elevation.

Finished the inside with some scraps of paper and I have a couple of fussy cut raspberries to attach yet. As I said earlier travelling with crafty things takes planning, evidently birthday sentiments was not on my mind, but I have lots of Holiday ones.

I am adding this to

Seize the Birthday ~~ Use your Favourite Colour (mine this week is Red/Pink)

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the great projects the rest of the design team have made.

Peppermint Dreams

I am so far behind with making holiday cards, I need to step up the pace and one place I get my inspiration is from the Jingle Belles challenges, I brought some crafty things for my almost 2 weeks at the cottage, not sure I have enough to last the whole time,  home is just an hours drive away if I really get desperate, I just need to remember when fall arrives I have to bring it me.

There is a perfect time to take pictures by the lake and I missed it.  I was very happy to see I had an already coloured house mouse image with me, saved a little time. I followed the top row of the tic/tac/toe board at the Jingle Belles challenge, Animal, designer paper and ribbon. (if I had added a diecut it would have been a two-fer.)

Finished the inside with sentiment and a scrap of patterned paper.

I am adding this to:

Jingle Belles ~~ Tree Skirt Tic/Tac/Toe

Christmas Kickstart ~~ Merry go round

Thanks for visiting today and if you need to add more holiday cards to your stash you have until
July 30 to play.

A Stitch in Time.

New month, new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and it's all about stitches, cross stitch, faux stitching with a pen, machine stitching. very short post today as my fingers are not co-operating. So here is my stitched card.

First time I have coloured this cute House Mouse Designs image up and I have had it for a few years, it really seemed like way to much work, I did use a red pen liner to do most of the cross stitches.

Carried the red scallops to the inside framing a very very old wood block stamp from the Artful Stamper. I see my photography skills are lacking today as well.

Thanks for stopping by today and stop by to see the inspiration projects the rest of the team have made.

You are so Sweet

Welcome to a new month and a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, "You are so Sweet" I think the prompt is easy peasy all you need to do is make a card with cakes, candy, icecrean even fruit will work.  Here is my offering for the challenge.

Of course I used my favourite stamp from House Mouse Designs and made a triangle easel card.  I also used the same paper as my last card I guess it was out on my desk and matched the icing on the cake.

This is the back of the easel where I added the sentiment.

Just to show the 5 1/2 inch square card folds flat and fits in the envelope.

Thanks for stopping by and check out all the sweet cards the rest of the team had made.

Fun Folds

Welcome back to a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash and its a fun challenge, something other than a regular card. I love making fun fold cards and there are so many to choose from. I follow Creating with Kristina on You Tube and she makes a fun fold every Friday. I missed a few DT challenges as I was down and out with a bronchial virus for 8 weeks and I'm so happy to be feeling good, able to craft and make a Fun Fold card for the challenge.

This is a Bay Window Card and of course I used one of my favourite House Mouse designs, such fun images and great for all ages. I found the tutorial on Delight of my Art  You Tube you can find it HERE

Here is the inside of the card using a sentiment to follow through with the cup "cake" thee.

A picture that shows the card folds flat for mailing.
I will be adding this to:

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge ~~ Anything Goes.

Seize the Birthday ~~ Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the SOS blog and check out the fun folds the rest of the design team have made. Then make one and add it to our gallery.

Glitter Me Happy!!

Hello and welcome to the first Shopping Our Stash challenge of 2025....Glitter me happy. Glitter makes me smile but only if I'm not using loose glitter. My first idea was a technique using tombow glue with a bit of water with glitter to look like snow/ice but neither of the two glitter containers were on the shelf, so Stardust stickles was my glitter of choice for my snow scene.

I used one of my Gruffies (he was on my desk)  and a rectangle of smooshed watercolour paper (also found on my desk) to make a holiday card (it's never too soon to start) I coloured and fussy cut the sled and snowbank, flat attached the snow but popped up the gruffie and toque. The stardust stickles was liberally applied (maybe a tad too much) to the snow bank and the toque. Sentiment was on the desk from where I stamped holiday envelopes after the PO strike was over.

Flags made from leftover scraps and a favourite sentiment were added to the inside.

This is my first card for my 2025  holiday stash.

Time for a Hot Drink!!

At Shopping Our Stash the new challenge is "Time for a Hot Drink" for me my hot drink of choice is Coffee although I wouldn't turn down a "cuppa" tea, some hot apple cider or as I chose for my card Hot Chocolate with mini marshmallows of course. So I hope you will join the challenge with a hot beverage.

I decided to use up some scraps and what better way to do it than the September 2024 sheetload sketch, It is a mini slimline card.  I used some scraps of Echo Park I have been hoarding for a few years they are just too cute, Of course I used a House Mouse Designs stamp, it was a hard choice since I have a tea cup and a coffee cup stamp as well but the patterned paper did the deciding for me. Let it Snow is from Elisabeth Craft designs, the word Snow was cut twice for stability. The enamel dots are so old they were not very sticky so a little dab of glue was added.

Finished the inside with one of my newer sentiments and managed to get it straight and tucked behind the front circle.

I am adding this to;

Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge ~~ While Shepherds Watched their Flocks

Thanks for stopping by to check out the new Challenge at Shopping Our Stash, head over to the BLOG and check out what Hot Drinks the rest of the team have chosen then pick a hot drink stamp or die and join the challenge.

Birds of a Feather

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, for this fortnight we want to see Birds or Feathers, since I am still dealing with  non co-operative fingers I have been keeping things simple although I am not too sure why I would attempt a new to me fun fold, if you want to try it you can find it HERE.

Once all the cardstock was cut it went together nicely, I followed along with the video pausing to do the step before advancing. There is a second version I am going to try too. Of course for my "bird" I had to use one of my many house mouse designs stamps and it has a humming bird. I used a stamp I haven't used in a long time and the cardstock is Stampin'up and I have not clue what the colours are, I also have used some very neglected punches.

Well this was not the easiest fold to take a photo of, but this is the inside where you add your sentiment.

Side view of the card set up, what is really nice it folds flat for mailing and fits an A2 envelope.

I'm adding this to:

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge ~~ Anything Goes or Halloween

Seize The Birthday ~~ Anything Birthday (topping is Dots)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and head over to the SOS blog and check out which of the Design Team used Feathers.

Halloween!!

Welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and it's my great grandson's favourite time in fact his mom said I could make him Halloween cards all year. The prompt is to use the holiday for the theme or use Halloween colours orange, black, green, lime and/or purple, as you see mine is a super cute Halloween card using one of my House Mouse Halloween stamps. So when I saw the September 2024 Sheetload sketch I knew it was perfect. If you follow the full instructions it makes 12 mini slimline cards, I wanted to use up some 6 X 6 Halloween papers so I prepped for 3 but only managed to get one finished, be prepared to see the other 2 soon.

Now isn't Monica just adorable in her butterfly wings. One section on the front is folded back and glued down. I love this slimline design, find the link HERE
I added the Happy Halloween and shadow, this is a very quick and easy fold.

I put a circle where the sentiment will be when I print a suitable one from one of the "free' sites.

Well I couldn't resist a close up of Monica doesn't she make a cute butterly.

I am adding this to:

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge ~~ Anything Halloween Goes

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge ~~ Anything Goes optional theme "Fall"

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out SOS to see the scary inspiration the design team have created.

True Confessions......

We have a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash....I Don't Really Need Another One/True Confessions from the Design Team.  As a Hoarder I mean Crafter everything can become an obsession, and it goes in stages, first for me was Snowmen stamps next it was Butterflies, I couldn't resist a butterfly stamp or die or both but my real problem is House Mouse designs. I have been collecting and using House Mouse, Happy Hoppers and Gruffies for 25 years. I have a lot of woodblock stamps dating from 1999, I have many, many cling mount stamps as well and a few clear ones too I also have stickers. I really have no idea of how many I really have and do I really want to know?

I love to pair my House Mouse design images with a fun fold, this one is a rocker card.

Here is the back of the card where I put the sentiment.

There you are my true confession that I can't resist a cute House Mouse, Happy Hopper or a Gruffie stamp. What is your obsession? Come join us for the challenge.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for looking today.

Summertime............and the living is easy.

Well did you sing along? It's the first Saturday of a new month so the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is having a new  challenge so here is our beloved Edna to show you all about it.

As you see S is for Summer so let's give it our best "shot" and here is mine.

Nothing more Summer than laying on a blanket with an umbrella on the beach listening to the waves rolling in.  Since I am trying to keep things a bit simpler I decided not to use an image that was too intricate to colour and since I chose the super cute happy hopper i just couldn't add any snark. I  attempted to make a beachy background with distress oxide inks on watercolour paper I really like the paint flicking part to make it look like sand. I added a couple of Eyelet Outlet  sea shell brads, a cloud from my odds box. I flat attached the blanket/bunny but popped the umbrella up.

I suppose you are thinking "what the heck, a Christmas sentiment" well it's a dual purpose one as my card is for the Physio girl that is going on vacation.

I am entering this in

Thanks for stopping by and check out the MAIN BLOG I'm sure there will be some great summer snark there.

Summer!!

It's officially Summer and it's HOT in SWO and for me Summer means relaxing at the lake and at Shopping Our Stash it means challenge #526 ~~ Summer so create a project with a summer theme, travelling, the beach, gardening, BBQ ...... I chose beach and lemonade.

I have ventured a little further with my crafting, I decided to colour and do a partial fussy cut and off the frame die cutting. The hard part was getting the caps off the markers because of the left hand refusing to work properly.  Love my House Mouse stamps and use them any chance I get, it's one that is several years old and the paper an even the cardstock is ancient.

Closer look at the die cut, it's a nbus a couple of years in my stash and finally it got to work.

Finished the inside with a generic sentiment so I can use it for a just because or Birthday card.

I would like to add this to.

NBUS challenge ~~ Challenge #64

Thanks for visiting today and check out the MAIN BLOG and see what the rest of the design team have chosen for their SUMMER.
