Take 2 of the Easter Mouse Saga......

I'm back with the second of the House Mouse Easter cards I made on Friday, I used another of my Easter house mouse and I made a Shaker Card. This is for the youngest of my Great Grandsons.

Since little guys like bright colours I chose polka dots to accent the round shaker, of course I used a pre-made shaker dome it takes the stress out of starting from scratch. I pulled the colours from the dots and coloured the Easter eggs he is holding.

Close up of the little mousey with the coloured eggs.

Didn't have an Easter sentiment but found one that kind of worked. The bunnies on the bottom are dies from Gina Marie.Designs

The Easter Mouse has Arrived

It's Good Friday and all the major stores are closed and in between laundry and dishwasher I was crafting a couple of Easter cards for the Great Grandsons, Sunday we are all heading for a family brunch ~~ 10 or 12 of us. For the first year in a long time we haven't had ham and all the trimmings and it sure gives everyone more time to enjoy the day.  So here is the first one I made.

I just got a set of slider/spinner dies and of course I just had to try one, I kept it pretty simple for the first one, also it is for a 9 year old boy so he probably wouldn't like a fancy one. I followed instructions and used my anti static bag on the opening and all around where the foam tape is so it slides really nice. The stamp I used is from House Mouse Designs.

I got a little carried away and just had to use the Karen Bernstein pop up label die, I've only used it once before a year ago Halloween. I added another house mouse image.

Just added a die cut Happy Easter to the inside.

Thanks for visiting today and stay tuned for part 2 of the Easter mice parade.

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Spirit of Christmas Past

Since the Jingle Belle's challenge has a specific theme and it's one I love but for some reason this year I am struggling with Vintage!!! There is a prize too and if you don't have anything vintage there are two downloads from Lauren's personal stash.  I started with plan "A" but soon went to plan "B" and I like it much better. Lots of layers and fancy stuff it's certainly not CAS or DAB.

One of my favourite Christmas stamps it is called Santa Collage and is from Rubber Stampede I do believe I bought it eons ago on a trip to the U.S. at Target. I guess I had stamped it last year as it was in my box of stamped images, bonus, I did a bit of colouring on it cut with spellbinders ovals, the gold embossed paper was on my table beside the cutter and thought oh that would look good. So three layers of plain ovals, one scalloped and a fancy oval die cut. I embossed the scalloped rectangle with the Textile cuttlebug folder. It was too pretty to put a sentiment on it.

The image and 3 layers is popped up with fun foam and attached to the fancy oval.

Since we are going vintage I used a very vintage sentiment from the Artful stamper it might be older than the Santa Collage.

Get Ready it's Rudolph Days March 25 to March 31

Well I'm not as late as I usually am in getting a Rudolph Days card finished but that was because my image was coloured and fussy cut already and the Santa hat was also stamped, coloured and fussy cut too. So I'm half way to being finished.

Well it sure took me time to figure out who's Moose image this was but it's QKR Stampede. I have quite a few QKR digital images from when I designed for Clear it Out Tuesday and I'm still in love with them all. For this card as I said I had the image and Santa hat ready to go I also had the fir trees border in my scrap box, wow talk about using up your "stuff"  The Merry is from a Hero Arts set and the Christmas is an IO die.

As you see I popped this super cute moose up on pop dots.

Finished the inside with another die cut tree from the scrap box and a left over scrap of patterned paper. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

Shopping Our Stash is Holding an Intervention ~~ No Ink.

Hello and welcome to the new challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!! Challenge #347 is NO INK!!! There are lots of choices and if you check out the main blog you will see how it's done. You could use pencil crayons, or dies and there is always patterned paper just don't use ink. I went the easy route and did all die-cuts.

I have had this die for quite a while and I got it with our son's birthday in mind so this will be for his birthday in July. I don't have to worry about posting as he doesn't read my blog or follow me on instagram or even twitter.  Almost the last piece of Stampin'up black cardstock and the copper is also from Stampin'up and I'm sure it is two years old and only cut once for a card a few weeks ago.

I carried the "ink free" to the inside  using dies. The copper layer on this is from a package I bought at least 5 years or more ago.

Need a Cup of Joe?

It's Saturday and it's a NEW challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and it's a dandy!! N is for Need Coffee..........are you awake and ready to join us? When I saw the challenge I immediately searched my Bugaboo Digis folder and found Stella and you know what that means........SNARK!!! Here she is............

I had to search for scraps of Crumb Cake but I did use some new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide walniut stain with his stencil. The blue cardstock is Ballet Blue and has been retired for years. The sentiment is from a coffee sentiment set from Gina Marie Designs. (lots of choice of snark), The coffee and Stella's glasses have paper glaze on them,.

Close up you can see the paper glaze on Stella's glasses but not so much on the coffee. but it's there.

This is the sentiment that came with the digi of Stella and the coffee cup. I added some coffee stains with TH stencil, although if I have my coffee anywhere near my table it would look like it naturally.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail ~~~ Oh No it's a Mouse!!!

Shopping Our Stash #346 is Here comes Peter Cottontail so make an Easter Card. I used my favourite Easter image from House Mouse Designs.  The stamp I used is old I'm not sure how old but it's a wood block stamp. The patterned paper is probably 5 years old.

Other than using Purple for Easter cards I love yellow and teal together. I stamped the image twice and cut the egg shell out and popped them up. I used my ancient spellbinders dies to cut them out. The Hello is fairly new but never been used. My sketch is from CAS(E) this sketch #263, it was perfect for my image, and this is about as CAS as it gets for me.

Close up of the image.

The plain teal paper is from a paper pad I have had for so long I haven't a clue where I bought it or how long ago, it is listed for use with a cricut.  Isn't this a gorgeous Happy Easter die cut.

Hark the Herald Angels SING.......

I'm way behind on the Challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Hark the Herald Angels SING which translates to music on your project...perhaps sheet music perhaps notes or even instruments lots of choices. The challenge ends in a couple of days and I have only made one so far.

I used some sheet music I printed off on the computer and it was sitting in my scraps as was the green I used for the wreath and layer. I did a second cut with red and paper pieced it to the wreath (will NOT do this again) it was very time consuming and was very hard to get the pieces in the spots before the glue dried so don't look too close. The Season's Greetings is from Impression Obsession and another delight to glue. Should have used the sticker maker.

Finished the inside with an Impression Obsession sentiment and more scraps.

Thanks for stopping by today and be on the look-out for a second card before Wednesday.

Seize the Birthday ~~ Teal and White

I'm always on the hunt for Birthday cards and I'm going to start playing along with Seize the Birthday more often so I have a few on hand when I birthday sneaks up and I'm not prepared.  I love the colour teal and lately it's been a colour I have used a few times, I'm sure the last time I entered the challenge it was a teal and white card...guess I was a challenge ahead. I was in a scramble to finish this card and I totally forgot to put the birthday sentiment on the front of the card, it's all die cut and sitting on my desk.  I have left the inside blank for now, I sometimes like to match the sentiment to the person or just write on the inside to make it more personal. So without further adieu here is my teal and white Birthday.

Poppy die cut, spellbinders oval and textile embossing folder

Close up of the die cut poppies.

Added some die cut poppies to carry the theme to the inside.

Found a New Christmas Challenge.

Lindsey has been prodding me to join the Muse Christmas Visions challenge to up my Holiday cards so finally I had a chance to play along. I used the current MFTWSC376 sketch for my design,
Here is my offering for the challenge.

Here is the Muse for MCV95 Kimberly

What an adorable card. I chose to go with the reindeer , joy and red stripes.

This cute reindeer is from Bugaboo Stamps and I printed him off to use when I was playing along with a tag challenge in November, and he was just waiting to be used, I used a rectangle postage stamp die to cut him out.

Finished the inside with a "top note" and some leftover patterned paper.

I am adding this to

Challenge 345 at Shopping Our Stash ~~ Put A Bird On It!!!

At Shopping Our Stash we want you to "Put a Bird on it" I think that is self explanatory. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of birds everyone puts on their projects. Take a spin over to the Main Blog and see what the rest of the design team have made.  I was caught up colouring, fussy cutting and even picked out the paper and card stock then I found out I was making the wrong week, oh wow what a panic, I had to change gears really fast.  Since we are shopping our stash I dug out a couple of Stampin'up retired sets, one I've use a few times but the other it's the first time I have put ink to it.

Although there are lots of layers it seems rather simple. The blossom branch didn't ink well or it could be because of the old thesaurus page too, but I'm okay with it because the bird is the focal point, and I have another birthday card for my stash.

Close up of the Robin, my white gel pen wouldn't work to accent the eye, I'll figure out something before I give it away.

Finished the inside and added some punched corners, talk about using stash, I haven't used this punch in eons but I wanted something to break up the white on white.

The stamp sets I used were Nature Walk and Easter Blossoms I have had them for many years, in fact it was back when I put the labels on the stamps and they don't stick to the block, so I tried using a lip balm over the stamp and it stuck very well. (one of Scrap and Stamp with Frenchie's tips)

Well here we are another week and another challenge, I hope you will join us for the "put a bird on it" challenge. thanks for looking today.

Time for a New Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Challenge #105 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is ZigZag, I think it's self explanatory, but chevrons and ricrac are a couple that come to mind, Well I have lots of chevron paper but I decided to take another tack. Here is my offering for the challenge.

I made a ricrac frame for my sailboat image, this is one of my very first stamps.  Happy Birthday is cut out of a scrap of copper paper.

Close up of the ric rac frame.

Finished the inside but it's not very snarky this time

This is how I cut the frame, inverted circle and a circle spellbinders dies and you place them in this fashion and run them through the die cutting machine, I then turned them over put the rubber mat on it and embossed.

finished product before I took the dies off.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the main blog and check out what the rest of the design team have made, then get together your zigzag stuff and enter our challenge.

Strut Your Birthday Stuff!!!

Wow two House Mouse & Friends challenges in a row, I just had to take Diva Bunny for a test drive on the Tuesday Morning Sketch #443, although I flipped the sketch just because I wanted to, I also strayed from my usual colours.

What a great sketch to use up some of those bits of left-over patterned paper.  Of course I use Diva Bunny from House Mouse Designs,  The sentiment was computer generated.

Close up of the adorable little bunny.

Finished the inside with left-over patterned paper and a birthday sentiment on a topnote die cut. I am so short on birthday cards, they seem to be heading out in the mail as soon as I make them. Although my next batch of birthdays are for men/boys and then there is Easter and I haven't even started them.
