A is for Autumn

A new month and a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. check out what Edna has been up to for September.

The obvious for the challenge would be fall leaves in an array of reds oranges and yellow but I took a different approach to Autumn so check it out.

It's an Anti-Pumpkin Spice card!! The look on the snarky cat's face says it all. I coloured and fussy cut the cat and pumpkin, blended a fall sky. The pumpkin is popped up as is the head of the cat. I then added the die cut sentiment.

Had to add a close up of his face.

Close up of the computer generated sentiment.

Thanks for checking my blog today and don't forget to check out the MAIN BLOG to see what my teamies have made, then dig out your Autumn supplies, make a project and add it to our Gallery, You have until the last Friday of September to enter, you just might get voted the Queen of Snark.

Just Because......

Welcome to my blog today and are you ready to see the NEW challenge at Shopping our Stash? We want  you to dig in your stash and make a card Just Because you want to send a surprise hello or thinking of you for a friend. Everyone loves to get a card Just Because you are a thoughtful friend. Mine is for a friend I haven't heard from in a while and I hope it gives her a smile.

As you see I have been "working" from the lake, trouble is to get a good picture you only have a 2 hour time frame to get good sun. Working from the lake has a few disadvantages, one is if you forget a part for your project you have to improvise. I thought I had my large Hello die with me, I had 20 other dies but not Hello so Hugs just has to take it's place. I gorgeous Delicate Blossoms from Hero Arts, since I'm missing the packaging and google was no help I believe it's Circa 2010. I used a fairly new 3D folder (only one that was packed) I was really concerned my red inks were going to last as who would think to bring re-inkers? Hugs was die cut out of red metallic poster board and I layered it on two more heavy weight die cuts to elevate it.

Finished the inside with a couple of scraps and a Thinking of You die cut, of course leaving space to add my own sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your Just Because card in our gallery at SOS.

It's Rudolph Days for August!!!

I have been spending some time at the cottage and quite often, okay very often have forgotten supplies, usually sentiments but it's a nice change of scenery and October will come too soon.  Since I brought my new 3D embossing folder and a Christmas die I needed to take the folder for a test drive. (need a shim), I often grab a bunch of scraps from the desk  to add to the collection I have here. So here is the finished very simple card.

As you can see the folder needs a shim but it was my first attempt embossing a 3D folder in the Cuttlebug. I added 3 silver glitter starform stickers for some extra shine

Finished the inside with a favourite sentiment and some scraps.

I can't believe I'm early for entering:

Rudolph Days ~~ August

Thanks for stopping by today and if you want to get a headstart on Holiday cards Rudolph Days from the 25th to the end of the month, so get crafting.

The Spirit of Christmas Past ~~ A Jingle Belles Story

Finally I managed to get a card done for the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge, I just love their prompts every 2 weeks although sometimes I just don't "get 'er done".  Finally I had the opportunity to have a longer stay at the lake but with the longer time you need more "stuff" I only have so many duplicates, but I remembered my tonic cutter this week. I said to myself as I was packing don't forget the vanilla cardstock, and I did, so it was improvise time.

I used my PSX 94611 wood block stamp, there was no date on it but my other PSX stamp is dated 1999.  Stamped on white with memento tuxedo black and coloured with markers. Layered on red metallic posterboard and then on a top fold white base.

Finished the inside with a scrap of the metallic posterboard and as it never occurred to me to pack sentiments it is to be finished at home.

Of course I'm adding this to:

Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge ~~ The Spirit of Christmas Past

Thanks for stopping by today and you still have until Wednesday at 6 p.m. EDT  to get a project done, (ps there is a prize)

It's a Colour Challenge!!!

Hello and welcome to a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash and it is a Colour Challenge.

Since I was shopping my stash I managed to find scraps that filled the bill, I know I am out of crumb cake but managed to find a 1/4 sheet of it even the patterned paper was a scrap that just fit perfect. So the requirements are Feature the three colours, neutrals are allowed and of course use your stash.

Finally my first time in 2024 to take a picture at the lake and it's overcast and it seems my photo skills are lacking too, but no time to have a do-over. The dsp is from Stampin'up and ancient, I am positive that is the last of the paper.

The finished inside of the card and I didn't have a birthday sentiment stamp with me, not surprised as I even forgot my tonic cutter AGAIN and the fiskers is so hard to read.

I am adding this to:

Seize the Birthday ~~ #289 Anything Goes.

Thanks for spending time here today don't forget to check out how the rest of the design team have used the colours.

The Jingle Belles are serving Holiday Leftovers.

The theme at the Jingle Belles is Holiday Leftovers, not the eating kind the extras and scraps from making holiday cards and a lot of them are probably on your desk. I collected some and planned on getting busy on the weekend and technically it's still my weekend, I'm heading home in the morning.

here is the pile I collected although I didn't use all of them.

As you might notice the patterned paper wasn't in the photo that is because I found it here at the cottage. The Happy Holidays I inked with a green marker and the cute owl is popped up.

Close up of the owl.

I'm adding this to:

Jingle Belles  ~~ Holiday Leftovers

Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~~ #89 Animal Antics.

Thanks for stopping by today and there is still time to get in on any or all of the 3 challenges.

Summertime............and the living is easy.

Well did you sing along? It's the first Saturday of a new month so the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is having a new  challenge so here is our beloved Edna to show you all about it.

As you see S is for Summer so let's give it our best "shot" and here is mine.

Nothing more Summer than laying on a blanket with an umbrella on the beach listening to the waves rolling in.  Since I am trying to keep things a bit simpler I decided not to use an image that was too intricate to colour and since I chose the super cute happy hopper i just couldn't add any snark. I  attempted to make a beachy background with distress oxide inks on watercolour paper I really like the paint flicking part to make it look like sand. I added a couple of Eyelet Outlet  sea shell brads, a cloud from my odds box. I flat attached the blanket/bunny but popped the umbrella up.

I suppose you are thinking "what the heck, a Christmas sentiment" well it's a dual purpose one as my card is for the Physio girl that is going on vacation.

I am entering this in

Thanks for stopping by and check out the MAIN BLOG I'm sure there will be some great summer snark there.

Up, Up And Away

Welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash for this fortnight the theme is Balloon(s) hot air or party your choice. I went with Birthday Balloons.

Digging deep for this card  a Stamping Bella cling mount stamp from the Uptown Girl collection I have had for a long time, I coloured her up and fussy cut her out (not sure why I need to stress myself), but she needed to by flying high with her helium balloons. Background is smooshed distress inks on watercolour paper. The balloon girl is popped up. The base is a plum shade from Stampin'up and I can't remember it's full name, one of the last few loose pieces I have.

As if fussy cutting wasn't stressful enough I made an easel card note pad. I like making fun fold cards and I find them easier and quicker to make up.

I am adding this to:

Seize the Birthday ~~ Anything Birthday

Addicted to Stamps and More ~~ #473 Birthdays

Thanks for stopping by today and check out what the rest of the design team have made for the challenge then did in your stash for some hot air or party balloons and enter our challenge.

Summer!!

It's officially Summer and it's HOT in SWO and for me Summer means relaxing at the lake and at Shopping Our Stash it means challenge #526 ~~ Summer so create a project with a summer theme, travelling, the beach, gardening, BBQ ...... I chose beach and lemonade.

I have ventured a little further with my crafting, I decided to colour and do a partial fussy cut and off the frame die cutting. The hard part was getting the caps off the markers because of the left hand refusing to work properly.  Love my House Mouse stamps and use them any chance I get, it's one that is several years old and the paper an even the cardstock is ancient.

Closer look at the die cut, it's a nbus a couple of years in my stash and finally it got to work.

Finished the inside with a generic sentiment so I can use it for a just because or Birthday card.

I would like to add this to.

NBUS challenge ~~ Challenge #64

Thanks for visiting today and check out the MAIN BLOG and see what the rest of the design team have chosen for their SUMMER.

L is for Lindsey

Two years have passed since Lindsey lost her battle with Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer she is still in the thoughts of her many friends and fellow crafters. Lindsey was just a text away if I had a crafting block .  So for this challenge it was difficult to just pick one thing so I picked a few, one trying to use my color burst, then I'm not good at CAS but gave it a go, next a cat and a snarky one. I hope I have made her smile.

I still have not figured out why my laptop won't work with my camera, I can eject the card but it won't open my photos to import my pictures.
I cut the oh s#&t out of metallic poster board, popped it up on the sad attempt with color  burst powders, then coloured the snarky cat gray [Duncan approves so Lindsey would say), fussy cut and popped him up on the  computer generated sentiment.

Close up of the cat and sentiment.
Due to my hand surgery I missed my "middle" grandson's birthday so this is his card.

I will add this to

Seize the Birthday    anything goes.

The Male Room ~~ Animals

Rudolph Days for June

I have fought for 3 hours to get my photo program on the laptop to accept the sdhc card to no avail so to get this in for June it's a quick post and who knows what the photo will look like as I've never used my tablet for photos or my blog.

Still using an image I had previously coloured but fussy cut it out, I made a mini slimline card. This was a quick and easy one even though when I packed for my first weekend at the cottage I forgot my tonic  cutter but wonder of wonders I managed straight cuts with the old fiskers cutter.

I am adding this to

unfortunately I was 8 minutes late and the link was closed
I was also planning Christmas Kickstart challenge too but it was also closed, I think today was a total bust.

Happy Canada Day!!

Thanks for looking today.

Button, Button Who's got the Button?

Still struggling with the left hand not wanting to do what I want it to, typing is not easy either but on the up side I got a card made and with physio my fingers will be back working 100%. This blog post will be photo heavy typing not so much. The challenge at Shopping our Stash is Button, Button who has the button, now I know I must have 99+ buttons in my stash and I did find a few and picked the one that looked the best, didn't want to upstage the technique I used.

I tried a new technique called Double Stamping, not sure you can check it out here. This was a first attempt as although I have stencils I am not a stencil girl. The stencils are many eons old, the floral is the first one I bought and the bubbles one is a couple of years old. The button is probably 15 years old. I also stenciled the envelope.

A close up of the double stenciling.

Here is  close up of the tiny heart shaped button that is the theme of the challenge.

Finished the inside with a bit of stenciling and a favourite sentiment.

I am adding this to:

Seize the Birthday ~~ Double Stamping #285

Color Hues ~~ #89 Sage & Pink

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the Main Blog and see what buttons the rest of the design team has found in their stash.

The Aliens have Arrived!!

It was my Great Grandson's 7th birthday on Thursday and the theme he picked for it was "Space" it sure makes it easier to plan a party. Since my left hand is still not completely mobile I needed to find a shortcut for a card and I found some Alien Artist Trading Coins I made in 2021that were perfect.

I tried a new to me Galaxy technique for the background (note to self use a splatter box) I popped the 3 coins up on a slimline card which is 3.5 X 8.5 inches. I also s
decorated the envelope.

close up

another closeup, you can see the white splatters

I added an appropriate space sentiment to the inside.

I am adding this to:

Seize the Birthday ~~ anything goes (must try double stenciling)

Thanks for stopping today and have a great weekend.

A Trifecta of Challenges

Hello friends, family and followers, it' been 3 weeks since I have made a card as I had surgery on my left hand and you really need two hands to craft and fix meals but I didn't starve. I needed to make the May Rudolph days card and I had coloured a couple of images to work with before surgery, i fussy cut one of them to make a mini slimline card.

The image is a Stampendous acrylic mini stamp I popped him up on a die cut dog house added 3 trees and a silver sentiment and some silver mini dots

Finished the inside with a favourite sentiment and some scraps of paper oh and an extra tree I cut only to find the first one I cut still in the die.

I am adding this to my 3 favourite Christmas Challenges.

Jingle Belles Jingle Belles  ~~ Tree Skirt Tic Tac Toe (bottom row)

Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~~ Playing with Plaid

Thanks for stopping by today and I'm calling the typing of my blog today as one of my exercise sessions.
