Ho, Ho, Ho

Merry Christmas from Edna and the designers at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Challenge #257 is H is for Ho, Ho, Ho and is our last challenge of 2024 but we will be back in 2025 for more fun, frivolity and snark.

Yes it's another mini  slimline and another snarky cat, cat and presents were fussy cut. I found a smooshed background in my parts box it was A2 size so added the snow hill to the bottom. The presents were flat attached but the cat is popped up. I dug out my liquid pearls had to de-clog it and warm it up then I added it to his hat.

Close up, I do need to finish the inside as I ran out of time on Friday.

The Jingle Belles 2024 Challenge.

Just a quick post tonight, hoth Lauren and Stephanie posted their Jingle cards for 2024 and even though I missed a lot of the prompts I'm pleased with my small offering. I am looking forward to January 1, 2025 when they start the quest for eliminating the chaos in November by following their blog.

I seems like I made a lot of Mini Slimline cards, they work great for putting money in as a gift.
As I went through my year with the Jingle Belles I noticed one card was not with the rest the cards, I am sure it will reappear if I tidy my desk shelves.

It's a Banner Holiday!!!

It's been a banner challenge for almost 2 weeks and with one hour to spare I managed a card for the Jingle Belles Challenge. So due the time constraints and my left hand not touching the keyboard properly causing so many typos and  I have no time for that nonsense.

The poinsettias were made with a Boss Cut die set, one is flat attached the other 2 are popped up. The ef I used is from Sizzix and is a larger 4 1/4 X 6 so I just embossed part of it and covered the end with the flowers.

Closer look, the tiny beads are on a sheet I cut a a strip of 4 and coloured them with an alcohol marker,

with 45 minutes to spare

Snow Day!!!

Hello and welcome to a new Challenge at Shopping Our Stash ~~ Winter......not a holiday. What a fabulous theme, especially for me since I'm sending "Winter" cards after the Canada Post strike is settled, If it is too long I will be sending Valentines. My stash busting was at it's best this challenge as I used a stamp/die set I got from the 25 days of Christmas Tags in 2023 and have never used it as well as the front sentiment and the Echo Park patterned paper I have been hoarding for a couple of years as well.

I made my second back fold card and I love how fast it can be made and it's different. The stamp/die set I used is from Neat and Tangled, The sky background was a scrap of smooshed watercolour paper, patterned paper is from Echo Park

Close up of the winter bunny who is elevated on the slope.

Finished the inside with a winter sentiment.

Wow I Made a Dude Card!!

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash where the theme is "Masculine", guys out number the gals in our family so I make at least 6 a year but when I sat down to make my card all of a sudden I had no ideas but saw a new fun fold  and with that design  I managed to get something together.  I certainly shopped my stash for long retired Stampin'up coffee dsp and the two cardstock that matched. The die set from Elizabeth Craft designs I  have had for over 5 years.

This is a Fold Back fun fold, very easy and quick card. I have more photo angles to show how it works but it would be better to check out a video. The sentiment is from a Photoplay birthday stamp set.
The coffee cup has foam tape to shape it.

Because I added foam tape to the inside of the cup I attached the cup to the right fold with a foam strip to it folded flat.

Last picture is the inside of the card and how it will stand alone.

Of course I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by today, don't forget to check out the SOS BLOG and see what fabulous masculine cards the rest of the team have made. I'm looking forward for some masculine ideas so get busy and add one, two or more to our gallery.

Rainbow Bridge

Not a happy occasion to have to make Rainbow Bridge cards but it gives some comfort to the recipients. These cards were made for the passing of my grandson's ginger kitty named Pancakes.

I used cat in an oval  on a blended sky background added it to an embossed layer, it fit inside perfectly.
This one was for the family.

This card was made for my great granddaughter as she took Pancakes passing especially hard.
The heart shaped die cut was layered on some watercoloured paper, The rainbow  colours were blended on the base to match the paw prints die cut.

Both cards have the same sentiment.

I want to add this to:

Thanks for stopping by today and have a crafty day.

Time for a Hot Drink!!

At Shopping Our Stash the new challenge is "Time for a Hot Drink" for me my hot drink of choice is Coffee although I wouldn't turn down a "cuppa" tea, some hot apple cider or as I chose for my card Hot Chocolate with mini marshmallows of course. So I hope you will join the challenge with a hot beverage.

I decided to use up some scraps and what better way to do it than the September 2024 sheetload sketch, It is a mini slimline card.  I used some scraps of Echo Park I have been hoarding for a few years they are just too cute, Of course I used a House Mouse Designs stamp, it was a hard choice since I have a tea cup and a coffee cup stamp as well but the patterned paper did the deciding for me. Let it Snow is from Elisabeth Craft designs, the word Snow was cut twice for stability. The enamel dots are so old they were not very sticky so a little dab of glue was added.

Finished the inside with one of my newer sentiments and managed to get it straight and tucked behind the front circle.

Critter Alert!!

Welcome to a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, for the month of November we are showing off our Critters and look how many critters Edna has rounded up.

I decided on one for my card.

I must admit I have had all pieces for this card for weeks but as usual life took over and I couldn't find time to execute it. The background was a "fail" (I thought) but tucked it in the file folder with green scraps and it surfaced as I was searching for something else and thought hmm doesn't look half bad, and had the look I was aiming for to go with the snarky cat. (sorry no snark though) The sentiment was die cut 3 times and layered together and the snarky cat was fussy cut and popped up. It's a guy card so no bling.

Side look to see the dimension.

finished the inside with a scrap of the background paper and a masculine feeling sentiment.

I'm adding this to

Seize the Birthday ~~ Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting today and check out the critters the rest of the design team have used to inspire you to join in the challenge.

Last Pink Christmas Card for the Cure.

The last two weeks have been very trying, although the weather is really balmy here in SWO I had already decided to close the cottage for the season and now I have to find homes for 2 of everything I use daily, I'm still dealing with fingers that are non-functioning (you have no idea how long it takes me to do my blog) then my dishwasher has something in the hose so I'm trying to find time to work on it before calling a repair man, Google has been helpful with videos, the refrigerator needs some attention too but probably should just replace it, and if you believe in things come in threes, my coffee maker just flashed me that I needed to descale it.

Here is the final of my three Pink Christmas Cards,  the September 2024 sheetload tutorial is a great sketch and it is a free download and the instructions clear and easy to follow, instructions for making a single card are there too. Alicia also has a you tube channel and you can follow step by step with her.

I am not sure of the maker of the sentiment but my guess is Stampendous, if you notice the patterned paper is different than any of the other pieces but this was the reverse of one of the pieces and I really liked it.

Thanks for checking my blog today.

Pink Christmas (for the cure) episode 2

Back again with my second card for the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge, Pink Christmas and for every card both Stephanie and Lauren donate $2.00 Each toward Breast Cancer Research, I know more younger women and men are being diagnosed with breast cancer and because of early detection and research it is very treatable.

Here is the second of my trio of snowmen, I used the same sketch, same papers (the order in which the papers were layered are different and I changed up the placement of the sentient and image.

Finished the inside of the card with a Stampendous sentiment and of course changed the location of the circle to match the front image.

I'm adding this to:

Again it's nice to have you visit come back any time there is still one more to come.

It is Pink Christmas time at the Jingle Belles ~~ Take 1

Finally made time to get some cards done for the Challenge at the Jingle Belles. both Lauren and Stephanie donate $2.00 each for every card posted on their blog, the money goes to Breast Cancer Research. As a survivor I like to make as many as I can, sadly I have only managed 3 cards so keep watching I will be posting a marathon for your viewing.

I was so enamoured with the September 2024 Sheetload of cards I just had to use it for some Christmas cards, 3 6 X 6 pieces of patterned paper and 3 8 1/2 X 11 pieces of cardstock and a bit of white and voila 3 adorable mini slimline cards. The stamps are ancient, a quatre of snowmen, I have used them every winter season for over 10 years. Let it snow was cut twice and layered for stability

On the inside I added an Impression Obsession holiday sentiment.

Birds of a Feather

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, for this fortnight we want to see Birds or Feathers, since I am still dealing with  non co-operative fingers I have been keeping things simple although I am not too sure why I would attempt a new to me fun fold, if you want to try it you can find it HERE.

Once all the cardstock was cut it went together nicely, I followed along with the video pausing to do the step before advancing. There is a second version I am going to try too. Of course for my "bird" I had to use one of my many house mouse designs stamps and it has a humming bird. I used a stamp I haven't used in a long time and the cardstock is Stampin'up and I have not clue what the colours are, I also have used some very neglected punches.

Well this was not the easiest fold to take a photo of, but this is the inside where you add your sentiment.

Side view of the card set up, what is really nice it folds flat for mailing and fits an A2 envelope.

I'm adding this to:

Halloween!!

Welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and it's my great grandson's favourite time in fact his mom said I could make him Halloween cards all year. The prompt is to use the holiday for the theme or use Halloween colours orange, black, green, lime and/or purple, as you see mine is a super cute Halloween card using one of my House Mouse Halloween stamps. So when I saw the September 2024 Sheetload sketch I knew it was perfect. If you follow the full instructions it makes 12 mini slimline cards, I wanted to use up some 6 X 6 Halloween papers so I prepped for 3 but only managed to get one finished, be prepared to see the other 2 soon.

Now isn't Monica just adorable in her butterfly wings. One section on the front is folded back and glued down. I love this slimline design, find the link HERE
I added the Happy Halloween and shadow, this is a very quick and easy fold.

I put a circle where the sentiment will be when I print a suitable one from one of the "free' sites.

Well I couldn't resist a close up of Monica doesn't she make a cute butterly.
