Challenge #370 ~~ Crazy for Colouring

The challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Crazy for Colouring!!! And I do love to colour. I also used this challenge to make an Anniversary card for my Hubby, September 3rd was our 58th anniversary.

The stamp I used is a Mo Manning stamp I bought from Stamping Bella many moons ago, when they were still in Ontario.  If I have used it before it's only once and thought it was appropriate for 58 years.

I seemed to have left my anniversary die at home along with another I wanted to use so I took advantage of the gold sentiment stickers I did take to the cottage.

This sentiment stamp is from Impression Obsession and I have had it a long time but to use it I had to take the paper backing of the cling stamp. I hope it's happy to be inked now.

For our anniversary the last few years (this year was no exception) we like to go to the Erie Beach Hotel for dinner, they have an awesome salad cart that comes to the table and good food too.

Thanks for stopping by today and dig out those markers, pencils, gelatos or what every you love to colour with and join the colouring fun at Shopping Our Stash.

Something old, Something new, Something Borrowed and Something Blue!!

Have you guessed the challenge #91 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is.....W is for Wedding and we want to see  something old, new, borrowed and something blue on your project.  I went with my favourite married couple...Stella and Gus and their views on marriage a bit snarky too.

As you see my colour choice is blue and the patterned paper is OLD, the postage stamp die is the new part and (stretching it a bit) the borrowed is the current Stella says Sketch #513.
The sentiment is also from Bugaboo stamps, I borrowed it from the other Stella & Gus marriage digi.

Close up of the two love birds.

Finished the inside with the sentiment that came with the front image of Stella and gus.  You have to love their snarky humour.

Now a picture tutorial on how I use the fun foam instead of pop dots, it makes the image more stable for mailing and doesn't add much weight.  I found this out from one of  Jennifer McGuire's  videos.
First I cut the shape I need just a bit smaller than the image.
then I glue or tape it to the image and glue and tape to the card base.  Just a word of caution don't buy the fun foam at the $$ store in a package it is too thin buy the 2mm singles, I did get some at Len's Mills today.

Challenge #85 at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is ~ B is for Beach!!!

Almost the end of May where has this month gone? There is a new challenge at the Sisterhood  it's B is for Beach. We want to see sand and surf and anything you deem goes with the beach.  I have an older stamp set from Stampin'up and is called By the Sea and I love all the stamps and have used one of them for my card.

I had this stamp out to make a "request" card for an anniversary card for a hubby and I think this stamp really works for an anniversary card. I added two brads from the Eyelet Outlet Store I used a seagull and a seashell brad.  The sand and water were made using a new SU set and with love was cut with an unnamed die.

Close up of the seagull and sentiment.

Computer generated sentiment for the inside of the card.

Challenge #83 Y is for Yippee!!!!

A new challenge has arrived at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!! Y is for Yippee!!! A Congratulations project is in order!!! A friend of mine (and hubby) were celebrating their 50th anniversary on a cruise and their daughter asked if we could make a card so she could surprise them on the cruise so I'm very happy to say the card has been received. I made it with this challenge in mine and hoped it would all work out (and it did) It makes me think Yippee when anyone reaches 50 years of marriage in this day and age. Here is my offering for the challenge.

Simply done with gold tinged shimmer paper and gold, Sentiment computer generated and the champagne rhinestones are from the Eyelet Outlet.

Inside of the card with a computer generated sentiment from Verses4Cards

Scraps of gold and glitter paper were used to cut these adorable champagne glasses to go with the sentiment. These dies are from Impression Obssesson.

Of course I had to pick a Stella and Gus image, they are the perfect pair. Now that sentiment is from a rub-on pack I have had for at least three years or maybe more. I have been using the black lettering but haven’t used on of the white ones.
IMG_2360
Here are my “rings” I was in a spot I couldn’t find the fake wedding bands I am sure are somewhere as I used to decorate cakes but one of the design team “Lisa” made hers with spellbinders circle dies and I kinda borrowed the idea,…thanks for being so creative Lisa.
Now for the punch line……..

Looking for my Clear it Out post? just scroll down a bit and you will find it.
Shopping Our Stash  has a new challenge for you, it’s to use a picture of a person on your project or an image of a person. that shouldn’t be too difficult. I made an Anniversary card for my hubby and I used a Bugaboo Designs image, we have been married 54 years and I thought the sentiment was appropriate.

Sorry the light wasn’t really great when I took this outside.

Challenge #147 “Taxman” use Numbers!!

If you are looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post scroll down or click HERE.

Guess we all know the number crunching for the taxman although Canada has a couple more weeks (which is good for me) Since I was asked to make a Sapphire Anniversary Card (45 years) I thought perfect for the challenge, there is no stamping and no colouring (gasp) unreal for me as I love to colour. I love the way it turned out and plan on making a “box envie” for it. This is what I made for Shopping Our Stash challenge this week.
IMG_2075
I used some recollections gemstone paper for the blue and shimmer white from Stampin’up both are a couple of years old, the flowers are also from my stash, I take them apart and put them back together, there are tiny pearls in the centers. Ribbon and flowers are from Len’s Mills store. I cut the 45 with my Cuttlebug alpha dies and attached them to thin strips of clear acrylic.
IMG_2076
Close up of the numbers done with stardream cardstock scraps.
IMG_2077
The sentiments are both computer generated.
Thanks for looking today and I hope you will dig into your stash and create a project for the Taxman/numbers challenge at Shopping our Stash.

Challenge #139 at Shopping Our Stash…… Embellish Me…….

If you are looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday blog post please just click HEREl  or scroll down to the next post.
Shopping our Stash has a real challenge for you it’s to make your own embellishments. Don’t forget to tell us what you made. I made a couple of things for my card. I had some flower sprays and took some of them apart to make my flowers and added the rhinestone in the center but the really nice part of it all is the hat pin with the bead on it which was a gift from a friend.
IMG_1961
As you can see it is a 50th anniversary card, I printed the sentiment on the computer and cut with the Floral ovals, layered in on the shiny gold cardstock (from my stash), embossed the white layer.
IMG_1962
Here is a close look at the hat pin embellishment, and flowers.
IMG_1963
The sentiment is computer generated and the gold braid was hanging out on my table saying use me please, so I did . I think it looks quite nice. I am so happy I have the card ready for the party, now as long as I don’t put it in that “safe” place and lose it.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have some crafty time set aside to join Shopping Our Stash for the Embellish me Challenge. Remember we want you to make your own embellishment.

Let’s have a BIG hug!!!

I made this card for a friend’s anniversary, I don’t use Yellow often but these cute hugging geese were the perfect match. The image is a cling mount (also available in wood mount) from Penny Black Designs coloured with my favourite medium, pencil crayons and odourless mineral spirits.
                              IMG_1429
Of course not a whole lot of colouring here. Fleur dis Lis rectangle spellbinder was used for the white frame around the image.
Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon there is more crafting going on.
