Winter Wonderland

Hello friends welcome to a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash!! For the next 2 weeks we are looking forward to seeing lots of Winter Wonderland cards, you can make a winter scene or an all White card.  Even being in Canada our winter wonderland is dull, drab and grey, we do have some lingering snow but to me it's just damp and drab. So I have dug deep into my stash and everything on my card is 2 years old or older.

Sorry for the terrible picture, windows updated and changed my photo program and now I can't see how bright the card is.  So I decided I wanted to make a wreath card with my favourite die from Gina Marie, I cut it twice and added some dimensionals between the two layers, added some white enamel dots from the Eyelet outlet  when I did a DT spot in 2017. I flat attached the wreath to the brick wall embossing folder layer which is on a scalloped square layer (EC designs). I cut 3 of each of the word dies 3 times and layered them these are the newest item at approximately 2-3 years young. Then it was added to a     5 1/2 inch square card base.

Close up of the wreath and winter words.

Finished the inside of the card with a favourite sentiment from Hero Arts.

Birthday, Brads and a Butterfly

Hello and welcome to Shopping Our Stash's 490 post going "Back In Time" to challenge 49 and repeat it, Anything starting with a "B" so I went with Birthday and Brads and added a super cuter Butterfly to round the "B's" off. I shopped my stash as the brads are ones I got/bought when I was on the Eyelet Outlet Blog in 2017, The papers were all scraps, even the sentiment was one I stamped and set aside.

As I said everything was a scrap, most was from a card I started and changed my mind. The HB die was cut 3 times, one in heavier cardstock, I added the b&w butterfly to tie in the black layer. All brads are from the Eyelet Outlet

I added the birthday candle brad to the I in Birthday. Isn't that butterfly pretty.

Finished the inside with a favourite  sentiment and a scrap of patterned paper.

As I set up to take the photo of my card Toto decided to have an afternoon bath on my chair, I almost sat on her she was so quiet.

since I used snippits I'm adding this to:

Snippits Playground Challenge #447 ~~

Seize the Birthday ~~ Use Your Initials (BAG) went with just "B"

Thanks for looking today and I'm hoping to be back on the Holiday card making soon. Check out the inspiration the rest of the team has on the MAIN BLOG, then dig out your "B" items and add it to our gallery.

She Sells Sea Shells......

Hello family, friends and followers, it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and as you can tell by the title it's anything to do with sea, ocean, beach and shells...so many choices.  Because I'm at the cottage for the long weekend (we are celebrating the Civic holiday August 1st.) I had decided to make a beach scene. Sometimes I get focused on what stamps I want to use, I forget all the other components of making a card, by now I should have had 75% of my dies and 10% of my cardstock so there was a lot of quick thinking and a short trip to the craft store in Delhi Ontario. Lots of 8 1/2 by 11 in every colour of the rainbow and very reasonably priced. Enough complaining and on to see what I did have to make my card.

The stamp I used is from House Mouse Designs and is a Happy Hopper, knowing I was making a beach scene I dug way in my stash for Eyelet outlet sea shell brads, I got them when I was on the design team way back in  1917. I also had the smoshed background with me and the piece of crumb cake which I took some scrunched up plastic wrap and using gathered twigs and walnut stain distress oxide inks and hopefully it reminds you of sand.  Lucky for me the Happy Birthday die cut was in a baggie of extras I had with me. After colouring and fussy cutting the image and an extra umbrella, I flat attached the image and added 4 extra triangle layers to pop the umbrella up. (had no pop dots with me)

Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge for June ~~ Monochrome

Happy Little Stampers is taking a hiatus for 6 months so this is my last ATC for them for a while (hoping I get asked back) It's been so much fun creating the little 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inch rectangles and 2 inch circle Coins. Monochrome is one of my favourite things and quite I don't plan it but happens anyway. For this challenge I wanted to tackle a few things I don't do very often and need practice  so here are my ATC cards.

Along with tackling stencils I also use two colours I rarely use especially in one tone.

First I made the background with two distress oxide colours then using the Hero Arts Large Lotus pattern stencil, layered it on two shades of yellow and decided to play with the cone flower die which I cut in yellow then in foam core to elevate it on the card, Finished with a trio of yellow glitter enamel dots from the Eyelet Outlet.

For this pair of ATCs I started  out with the background using two shades of brown distress oxide ink and after it was dry I use the Tim Holtz splatters stencil in the darker colour. The coffee mug is a stamp and die from Verve and I paper pieced some clock paper on it. I also added some coffee beans and the sentiments are from the Verve coffee set. It is also layered on two shades of brown.

Thanks for following along with me on my 6 months as part of the  design team of Happy Little Stampers. ATC challege blog.

It's Jingle Belle Time!!!

I love the bling prompt for the Jingle Belles Challenge and I only managed one card for the challenge. Not that I won't make lots of "bling" Christmas cards in the next few months.

Ah I'm back using the beautiful backdrop of Lake Erie, it is very windy today and I'm happy that it didn't blow away since both hands are on the camera. I used Tattered Poinsettia die, did lots of layers and used stardream red and green, you can see a bit of shimmer, because the theme is "Bling on the Holidays" I added a flourish of bling from the Eyelet Outlet and dotted a few around the embossed background.

Finished the inside with a mini poinsettia (used scraps left over from cutting the big guy) The sentiment is from Stampendous.

Dream the Embossible Dream!!

It's a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!! Dream the Embossible Dream, our hostess for this challenge is Chris and she decided we would do some heat embossing or use an embossing folder or both!!!  Well I've been gearing up for this challenge for two weeks, I brought things and ideas to the cottage to work on it....well last weekend I had to leave the background here as it didn't dry, so now this weekend I'm all set (or so I thought) evidently I didn't NOT have versamark watermark ink here so my plans are now on hold, I will work on it next weekend and post it NEXT Tuesday. It was just luck that I had brought some embossing folders with me and at least I have a card for the challenge.

All things used on this card I've had for a while (except the butterfly die) and none have been used. Although you can't tell the purple layer is sparkly and I tried to die cut the sentiment out of it but it really didn't work. So grabbed some scraps left from another project and die cut the sentiment. The purple beads are from the Eyelet Outlet and were left over from when I did a stint with their design team.

Close-up of the gorgeous embossing folder and the tiny butterfly.

Finished the inside with a favourite sentiment and a tiny butterfly

Thanks for stopping by today, don't forget to stop by the Main Blog and see what Embossible Dreams the rest of the design time have made for the challenge.

Happy Birthday Dude!!

Challenge #383 at Shopping Our Stash was chosen by teamie Donna, I'm sure she wanted us to change our mindset from Holiday cards!! Happy Birthday Dude is the theme and since I have been in "snow" mode for the last few challenges it almost stumped me, masculine cards are so hard to make and this is the quickest card I've made in a while. So we want to see a Birthday card for a Dude....a big guy or a little one.

Sketch Saturday had a really great sketch this week so I wanted to use it as it was perfect for this double sided designer paper from Stampin'up that I think I've had for almost a year as well as the matching cardstock, (just opened the pack to make the card. The vertical Happy Birthday is a couple of years old and I think I've used it once. The glasses brad is the first from a pack of brads from eyelet outlet also over a year old.

Very happy the one sheet of DSP had both design on it (bonus)

Finished the inside with  a scrap of paper and a sentiment from a bin at Michaels Craft Store.

I am entering this in:
Saturday Sketch ~~ week #542  I flipped the sketch to vertical
I took a few liberties with it.

Time for a New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!!

It's Chris's turn to host Challenge #353 at Shopping Our Stash and she chose Chanson Papillon  which means add a Butterfly or more on your project. I love butterflies and one of the stash items is butterfly dies that I have had for a while but haven't had a chance to use them yet.

When I found the turquoise swirl gems in my stash I just had to use Tempting Turquoise for my base. I have had the Eyelet Outlet gems in my stash for over a year.

The triple butterfly die is three different sized meant to be stacked, I edged them in peacock feathers distress oxide ink, flat attached the largest and popped the medium and small butterfly on top.

The sentiment is a very old Hero Arts stamp and gets summoned into service when a vertical sentiment is required. I had an extra butterfly die cut and added it to the inside.

Well not a huge amount of stash bustin' here, I probably have much older butterfly stamps and dies but just opening the gem swirls is good for me because they are so pretty and I tend to hoard pretty things. Now you have seen what I have made I hope you will head over to the MAIN BLOG and see what the rest of the design team have made.

Challenge #350 at Shopping Our Stash is ~~~ YO DUDE!!!

Chris's turn to pick the challenge theme at Shopping Our Stash!!! Yo Dude ~~ make a masculine card!!! I need to ramp up my making of some dude cards so here is a start.

I had lots of ideas but I wanted to use the mustache brads from the Eyelet Outlet,  The stash items are the brads, and the patterned paper that is a pack from the dollar store that is a couple of years old.  I also haven't used that 3/4 inch scalloped punch for years. Happy Birthday isn't so old and I've used it a couple times, I think it's the perfect masculine one.

Close up of the stars of the show~~the mustache brads.

Finished the inside with a bit of patterned paper that was leftover and a favourite sentiment from Stampworks.

Thanks for joining me here today and head over to the main blog and check out the rules and all the Dude cards the rest of the design team have made.

Headed To The Beach!!!

It's Mimi's turn to pick the challenge for Shopping Our Stash and she chose Headed to the Beach, evidently her weather is much nicer than mine here in SWO as we have been waking to snow and cold so I know I'm not going to be at the beach until it's warmer.  I went to my favourite stamp store for my image for the challenge....House Mouse Designs, I really just went to my room and found it.

Isn't this a cute scene, the little mousie playing beach ball with a crab.  As you see I'm still in my blue and lime phase, I hope it phases out soon.  I haven't use this image and had it for a couple of years, the papers were also a couple of years old, it's also time to re-order pacific point cardstock. I added the one lonely seashell brad as it was my last one and a cute green sand pail brad both from the Eyelet Outlet Store.

I found a couple of clouds sitting on my table I don't even know how long ago I die cut them and why were they still on my table, best I start cleaning the table off when I'm done crafting lol. like that might happen. Don't look too close but I see there are a few spots to touch up on the beach ball, funny they are so noticeable when you take a picture and they are not IRL.  I also added some stickles to the lines to show the motion of the ball.

Carried the patterned paper to the inside and added a sentiment from Stampworks.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the MAIN BLOG check out the rules and see the beachy cards the rest of the design team have made.

Finally the last of my Easter Cards

I only made 4 Easter cards this year, one for a challenge and it went to a good friend of mine, the second and third were for my two great grandsons, they like them too.  I quickly made this card for another friend, I love to just surprise her with a card every once in a while.

The cross was made with the Sizzix lattice die I bought eons ago from Stampin'up, since it is square you have to cut a few pieces out to make the cross, The background was made with a stencil I bought at Dollar Tree,(it is sticky backed too to hold it down) I sponged distress oxide inks over it. I thought it made the card more "Eastery" Finished with some leaf diecuts and some white paper flowers from the Eyelet Outlet.

Two different sentiment dies were used, I have one set that has Birthday, Wishes, Happy and Blessings and thought the blessings was perfect for the lady I made it for. She sure was surprised and happy.

Thanks for stopping  by today and have a wonderful weekend.

A Collage-y Valentine.

Now that the recipient has received the Valentine I made for her I can show everyone. A fellow design team member designs the most awesome collage cards, I am in awe of her work so I decided to give it a whirl, I think just because I haven't made many.

The patterned paper seemed like the perfect item to start with and the doily just because Lauren uses them on her collage cards. the flamingos just because she loves them and of course Eyelet Outlet paper flowers and heart brad. Hello is an unbranded die cut.

Close-up of the flower and flamingos (a Gina Marie die)

Finished the inside with a generic sentiment (I use for many occasions) and some leftover patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the weekend.

Sunshine and Flowers

Now that my friend has received her Birthday card I can blog it and add it to a couple of challenges, which is unusual I manage to get it added to a challenge before it's over, that being said I used Sketch Saturday #497 which of course is over as a new one started Saturday.  It has been so dull and drab, the snow is almost gone and it's just all one colour so I decided a flower infused, brightly coloured card.

It's my first time inking up this super cute House Mouse Designs stamp.  I coloured it with alcohol markers and elevated it with a rectangle of fun foam, this makes it stable for mailing.

Close up of the super cute image.

Finished the inside with a sentiment and a strip of Birthday washi tape from the Eyelet Outlet Store.

Challenges I'm entering:

Just us Girls ~~ Photo Week (I saw yellow and black)

Seize the Birthday ~~ No Toppings (one layer is not for me)

Thanks for checking  my blog today and have a great week.

Shopping Our Stash #326 ~~ That's Sketchy

Hello again!! Another week has just zoomed by and it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash!! That's Sketchy so pick a sketch and create a card with the sketch, please is you use a sketch challenge blog please give them credit.  I am combining my SOS challenge with the Jingle Belles Pink Christmas with a current sketch from Stamplorations, without any more chit chat here is my sketchy card.

When I saw the sketch I knew the stamp I wanted to use and it's Sunshine Designs set of 4 adorable snowmen, the company is no longer operating but you can find their stamps at the Frog's Whiskers  I bought them on a trip to Stittsville Ontario 8 to 10 years ago. I couldn't find any Christmas paper that has pink in it so I used some stripped paper from a paper pad I bought at Walmart at least 5 years ago, the glitter enamel dots are from the Eyelet Outlet.

Close up of the super cute "snowbabe"

finished the inside of the card with a sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  both stamps I used today are from Canadian companies in my home province of Ontario.
