A Tiny Craft (ATC) Challenge ~~ September

How can it be the 15th of September already? Wasn't labour day just a few days ago? Fall has been beautiful but sadly by the time the October challenge arrives I will have closed the cottage and all my time can be spent in my craft space.  My new to me desk i
working out great, it needs organizing but when I make a card I put it on the top shelf (keeps it safe from "paws")  Since it is the 15th of the month it's a new challenge at A Tiny Craft (ATC) Challenge and the theme is SNARKY!!  I paired stamps from Riley & Company with Chris's sentiments from Stamplorations, added cardstock layers an embellishment and voila they are done.

Since these are retro stamps I went totally retro with Black and White. The "enamel" dots are the last of my homemade black ones. layered the images on black then on a white base added the sentiment and called them done.

Here is the close up of the individual ATCs.

This is Coffee Lady

This stamp is called Coffee Carl

This Retro stamp is Wondering Midge

Lastly this one is called Ethel

There are many many more Retro Funny bone stamps in their store.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the main blog to see what the rest of the design team have made.

The Dreaded Masculine Card!!!

My grandson's birthday was coming up (Birthday Alarm sends me notices 10 days and 2 days ahead) I was racking or is it wracking? my brain as he is in his 20s and I've pretty well exausted my ideas for him, he doesn't drive or have any interest in sports so pretty limited  to what I can come up with but with an idea for a card in my mind I was good to go until his Mom said they went to a music store and he spotted a set of previously owned drums, a lot of thinking and talking and quizzing the clerk (who believe it or not) is my  brother from another mother, how awesome is that, he bought the set of drums and immediately I remembered a digis from years ago from Stitchy Bear of a whole set of B&W musical instruments and voila a card was born.

5 1/2 inch square card I cut the circles with Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched circles, The silver I used I bought from Dollarama and is adhesive but doesn't cut sentiments, you get the backing but not the metallic. so I will use it up by peeling and sticking to cardstock.  I would have liked to stamp a music background on all that white space but the music stamp is meant for an A2 card.

The sentiment is from the same grouping of digis from Stitchy Bear AND was stamped with some very small rubber stamps on a wooden sticks I bought at Dollarama  Since I cut a circle extra I had to use it on the inside.

Happy Spring Equinox!!!

What a beautiful day here in SWO for the first day of Spring, sunny and getting warmer, I guess you would think I would be creating sunshine filled floral cards in bright colours.......nope had to try a new Fun Fold, (should call it a NOT fun fold) as when I saw Color Hues Black and White challenge I had my paper already picked and when I saw the fun fold I knew it worked for it. So here is my new fun fold card.

.

The fold is called and Arrow card fold and here is the video, It is an A2 size card, I have seen several other ones for different sized Arrow Fold cards too. I'm sure my problem with my card was the 110 pound black cardstock base it was too heavy but I thought since it was a single layer it needed more stability.
The paper I sued was from a Black & White 12X12 paper pad I bought many years ago at Dollarama I think it was the first one I ever saw there and it has some great designs. My leaf die cuts are just a couple of dies I had in my stash and the flower is from the Eyelet Outlet and brads. The black rhinestone from my halloween stash.

Black & White is the Challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!

Hello again friends it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and Mimi chose the theme Black & White, what is more elegant than that?  As most of you know I'm crafting at the cottage and sometimes I have trouble remembering what is there and my B&W paper pad wasn't, fortunately I had a 12 X 4 1/4 scrap there just enough for my project as long as I didn't make a wrong cut. (I didn't) So without any more chit-chat here is my project.

I made a "screen" card, these are easy if you have a couple of discontinued punches.  I started with a 11 X 5 1/2 piece of black cardstock scored lightly at 2 3/4 5 1/2 and 8 1/4 then useing the Fleur dis Lis border punch I punched across the top, then scored heavier, Using the retired Decorative label punch  I punched the botton on the 4 panels.  Well there is 2 from my stash that hasn't been used in a long time. I layered the patterned paper on white cardstock. The mini doily dies I've not had too long but hadn't used them yet. I added black die cut flowers, a butterfly and a die cut message to each panel and I added some white pearls to the butterfly bodies.

Closer look at the first two panels

Closer look at the last two panels

This card folds in half for mailing in a square envelope.

Stash items are the two punches, the patterned paper 2 years old, butterflies ancient who knows when I bought the pearls and the flower dies are at least 3 years old. Of course the mini words are are well loved.

Adding this to:

A Place to Start ~~ July theme Flowers.

Hello family, friends and followers it's time for a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Q is for Quote, so pick a favourite quote and run with it or make a card.  I used a stamp from So Suzy and Crackerbox Stampe they have snarky stamps that are right up our alley.

The quote and image are a set and the quote is from Marilyn Monroe. I made a 5 1/4 inch square card and patterned paper left over from another project, silver and black accents. I love a classic black and white card.

closer look at the quote.

left over patterned paper and more black & white, the sentiment is also from So Suzy Stamps.

Creations in Black and White

Back to basic Black and white for a couple of Sympathy cards, I don't usually have sympathy or thinking of you cards on hand as I like to make them personal and these are the 5th and 6th I have had to make in the last little while. The first card I made with a poppy diecut in black on white.

the black poppies are layered on a white shimmer oval (from the "box")  attached to a Spellbinder fancy oval.  the white layer is embossed with a butterfly  folder.

The sentiment is computer generated from a Verse site.

Second card is very similar to one I posted earlier since the papers were still on my table as was the wildflower die cut.

Second card's sentiment is also computer generated from a verse site.

Wildflowers in white.

I made a "thinking of you" card for a friend, I don't make a lot of black and white cards but I found the most awesome patterned paper pad at Dollarama for $4.00 WOW, even if I only use 1/2 of the pages it's a bargain. I also used (for the first time) wildflower (or weed) dies, I cut all 6 of them just to decide which I wanted to use. Here is my card.

This is one of my favourite sketches to use. Isn't that flowered paper just gorgeous.

Close up  of the die cuts.

Finished the inside with one more of the flower die cuts.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is joining in the fun at Snarktoberfest 2017. I received some super stamps from So Suzy Stamps I love the saying and it's attached to the image, I knew from the start it had to be in Black and White with a touch of colour and bling.

5 1/4 square card and a flourish patterned paper with a few red rhinestones (eyelet outlet)

Finished the inside with another So Suzy word stamp I can see this one being used a lot but was perfect to go along with the front image.

Up Yer Kilt!!!

Well we can never say there are boring challenges at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers  ~~ challenge #89 is U is for Up Yer Kilt. We want to see plaid on your card.  I use plaid a lot but usually for Christmas cards so I had to stretch my mind on this one.  I was pleased to acquire TH hipster stamps of course these stamps as well as the crazy birds are WAY out of my crafting technique but I used that age old spot on the computer called Google and found some inspiration.

I always think when in doubt Black and White is always vogue. .

Close up of the image.

Finished the inside with a favourite "old" birthday stamp.

There you have it my off the wall card with a bit of snark, thanks for checking out my card today, you have until Friday August 4th at midnight to get your "up the kilt" projects in.  Head over to the SoSS blog, check the rules and see what the rest of the design team have made.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Week 2 of Challenge #112 Black and White continues

The Cheerful Stamp Pad and Lunagirls Moonbeams have joined forces to bring you a Black and White Challenge. Please check out the projects at both blogs and enter your B&W project at both blogs. For the second week of the challenge I have used the same Flower Line Art page as on it was a tall and narrow poppy, my favourite flower and I had just the design in mind for it.  See what I have done for this week.

I love this center step card as it is an A2 card 4 1/4 X 5 1/’2 You can adjust the size of the center by making the side pieces a bit narrower. The dies I used are Spellbinder fancy labels and Memory Box Latchette border.

Challenge #112 at The Cheerful Stamp Pad is B&W

Surprise!!! No you didn’t miss the weekend it’s FRIDAY!! Just a change of days for the Cheerful Stamp Pad’s Challenge as we are joining with Lunagirls Moonbeams for the Black and White challenge so don’t forget to check their design team projects too.,  I chose a Flower Line Art page for my project this week and since there were a lot of images on the page I wanted to try something new (to me) and make a Screen Fold card, it was a lot of fun to make too.
IMG_2892
I did figure out it’s very hard to photograph a screen fold card, the first pane I fussy cut the image out added a punch out from a page that has been sitting on the table for weeks and three rhinestones. The top was punched with Fleur Dis lis border punch from EK,+
IMG_2893
Don’t you just LOVE the snowdrops on the second pane, they are beautiful, I added a white butterfly and a white sparkly button tied with a narrow ribbon, The third pane I’m not sure what flower/weed it is but I added a black sparkly button with the same ribbon tie on it.
IMG_2894
Final pane of the screen fold card is daffodils, I used a second butterfly and added tiny black dewdrops to the corners.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will join the Cheerful Stamp Pad and Lunagirls for the Black & White Challenge.
