Let's Get SKETCH-y

 Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash I guess you have figured out it's a SKETCH challenge. It was a tad challenging for me as plan A was a bust and being at the cottage with limited supplies I really had to improvise fortunately I had a vertical image stamp but the die is at home I considered fussy cutting but due to my fussy cutting scissors hiding somewhere I just didn't want to take the chance with an unknown pair. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you can create with this sketch.

Here is my take on the sketch.

The wood block stamp I used is from The Stamp Barn, Ottawa sadly they are not in business but I know some of their designs were sold to another Canadian company as that is where I bought the die. The stamp is at least 15 years old. I used the postage stamp circle die and was very surprised to have a roll of gold ribbon here at the cottage. Dream is one of the small word dies I have and use quite often.

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #391 ~~ Best Friends

Mimi is the  hostess for the SOS Challenge  and she wants us to Celebrate Friendship.  I chose a House Mouse/Happy Hopper stamp for my image.

This is the most adorable image, I love it, unlikely friends cuddling in the flowers. 

The image was cut with Spellbinders label 8 and layered on fancy labels 8, I haven't use them in a long while. 

Just had to have a close up

The sentiment is from the Stamp Barn in Ottawa (was sold) I think I bought it at a discount scrap store and not sure if I have ever used it, I have had this for at least 8 years.

Another Pink Christmas Card and a Great Sketch Challenge

When I first saw the sketch last week I knew I wanted to try it and life got in the way and when I got the reminder I still had time to enter I got busy. The Sketch is at Freshly Made Sketches and you can use up your scraps…..BONUS!!

I was rummaging through my patterned paper and I found some pink and green Christmas paper I thought was long used up. It is green on one side and patterned on the other. The pink polka dot one was in my scrap tin and thought ok it will work. You might have notice I’ve had a few of these little snowmen, there were 4 all coloured up for a challenge and I missed it, but I was not going to let them go to waste.

Finished the inside with a sentiment on a top note die cut with some of the patterned paper to decorate it.

I Love a Challenge….Especially when it uses SCRAPS

I saw this challenge Saturday and I knew I had the perfect sketch to use up a lot of scraps, in fact the only thing that was not a scrap was the base.

The image is one of a set of 4 snowmen/snowladies I bought on a trip to Stittsville the set is from Sunshine Designs.  The patterned paper is a couple of years old and I’m down to scraps, works perfect for a non traditional coloured card.

Here is a close up of the snowperson.coloured in pink with a touch of green

Just a simple warm winter wishes on the inside, well when it gets this late in the season snow men and winter wishes are the best bet as they might not be received until after the big day.
