Shopping Our Stash #365 ~~ Shake, Shake, Shake that Shaker card!!!

Chana's back!! and has a fun challenge this week, make a shaker card!!! Lots of creative ways to make a shaker card, I took the easy route and made mine with a shaker cup (think that is what it is called)  So get those thinking caps on and join in the fun at Shopping Our Stash.   Here is my "winter" shaker card.  I never tire of making Winter/Christmas cards.

I used a very "old" retired Stampin'up set, I love this image for shaker cards it fits so well, I usually use it in a window frame shaker, but thought I would "shake" it up.  This is a 5 1/4 inch square card. The Merry Christmas is a sticker,

Inside the dome I put white and blue beads and some Martha Stuart Glitter snow (have no idea how old it is) I coloured the image with Spica glitter pens and a copic marker. I double cut the scalloped circle as the first one didn't fit right and I want to appear I'm perfect. lol.

Finished the inside to co-ordinate with the front and  the sentiment  is very ancient and is from High Hope Stamps.

Thanks for visiting my blog today and head over to the Main Blog to check out what the rest of the design team have made.

J is for Junk!!

Hello and welcome back to a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ~~ J is for Junk which means do some some odd non crafty item on your card, recycle or upcycle something. My hubby has a metal detector and has found some really odd things on the beach, some really good stuff but lots of junk. So I dug through a little pile of "junk" and found something that I could use.

First the little metal bar says "Aqua Funky" so when I saw it I thought of the Sunshine Designs set of 4 Funky Flowers so I coloured everything Aqua. This is an ATC (artist trading card) 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. I coloured the flower then masked it with an oval and sponged peacock feathers distress oxide ink on it then spritzed it with shimmer spray.

Close up of the plate (there is a couple in hubby's stash one is baby phat)

Since it's not usual that you make one ATC I continued and made the other three funky flowers into cards too.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the Main Blog and check out what junk the rest of the design team have used and don't forget to read the rules if you plan on entering our challenge.

It's Coffee Time!!!

I don't find a lot of time to enter challenges but two things I like are Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge and ATCs.  I like most of the HLS challenges but just can't fit them all in.  For July the ATC challenge is coffee and I "broke in" a set by Karen Berniston, they are little mini coffee themed dies, can be used as charms.  I was having so much fun cutting I had to make more than one ATC. oh btw ATC stands for Artist Trading Card 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches and they can be traded or given never sold. The work great as the focal point of a larger card too.

Background paper is from Stampin'up, Almost everything was made with scraps that's why ATCs are great. The coffee stamp and coffee bean stamp are from Verve (won them in a blog hop)

are these not the most adorable little take out cups, this set from Karen is just so cute an many pieces.

I can't tell you what company this stamp is from (it is at the cottage) I'm not even sure I looked to see who made it when I bought it. (we used it at a class) The cup and whipped cream is also from the set. as are the hearts.

Another part of the set is the straw and the dome which I cut from some acetate. I layered it on a brown oval as it wouldn't show up on the background.

Thanks for checking in again today and have a crafty week.

Shopping Our Stash says Let's Get Krafty!!!

At Shopping Our Stash we are asking you to use Kraft somewhere on your project for challenge #364. . I wasn't as well prepared as I thought I was at the cottage and only had a little larger than 1/4 of a sheet of "crumb cake" cardstock, which is what I use for Kraft, I do have some from Michaels that is a bit darker alas it was at home. I'm also very behind on holiday cards so since most of my paper pads were "holiday" ones I chose to make a Winter card. (makes me feel a bit cooler)

Out of my stash it was the scrap of crumb cake cardstock, I cut the sentiment scalloped layer from the larger scalloped frame which I cut from the large piece that is the kraft layer under the patterned paper, now that's using one scrap to it's fullest, the BoBunny 3 year old paper pad  there wasn't anything new on this card. The stamp I used is one of my favourites from House Mouse Designs.

Finished the inside with an IO sentiment that I totally forgot I had, it's been sitting uninked for one season maybe two. glad it surfaced last week.

Challenges I'm entering:

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ All Bundled Up

Thanks for visiting today and check out what the rest of the design team have gotten Krafty with.

Shopping Our Stash #363 is Christmas in July.

Welcome back to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!! #363 is Christmas in July....we are hoping to make you feel cool since we are in a heatwave.  I'm not having any trouble getting my crafting done but without internet at the cottage it's darned near impossible to get blog posts done.  They have WiFi everywhere but they are not equal, I spent an hour in a McDonalds today and never got on the internet at all. I'm hoping to play catch up when I get home to my WiFi.  Anyway here is what I did for my Christmas in July Theme.

Here is my winter scene, I love this deer set from Impression Obsession. the ovals are my ancient Spellbinders large classic set. The embossed background is Softly falling from Stampin'up and of course the sentiment is also from IO. First I took a 4 X 5 1/4 white cardstock and smooshed it into blue & turquoise oxide ink on my teflon sheet. I cut the oval for the scene and used the off-cut for a layer. The deer and the tree as well as the embossed layer were in my "box of extras"

The deer were cut last Christmas and out of some suede like cardstock I bought from the $$ store. I elevated the oval with an oval piece of fun foam.

Finished the inside with a strip of cardstock that I embossed.

Think Cool Thoughts.

Well it's a real scorcher out there the last few days, nice to be in the A/C for at bit, Since I need mega holiday cards in December I like to play along with the Jingle Belles ever couple of weeks. I managed two cards for the stripes and/or stars challenge there the last couple of weeks, Well my card might look vaguely familiar as it was to be a third one for that challenge but ran out of time, but since the next challenge was All Bundled up I knew it would work.

Lot's of layers on this one, even the sentiment has three layers, The snowman is one of a set of 4 from Sunshine Designs and very old. The papers were also left over from previous cards.

Close up so you can see the layers, the image and two layers are popped up with some fun foam.

Finished theinside with a couple more layers and a white tree from my stash.

Beach Beauties........

C is for Colouring at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, I hope you are up for the challenge. Colouring is one of my favourite things to do, I will colour an image just because it's fun and make it into a card at a later date, sure works when a birthday pops up.  I picked an Artistic Impressions image....girlfriends again, I used both the image and the sentiment on the front. Here is my colouring masterpiece (I hope you agree)

I don't use green very often it's not one of my go to colours but paired with the blues it's okay. The embossing folder I used is sequins from Stampin'up.

One of my favourite sentiments it works for Birthdays, Christmas and even Anniversaries, and it's fun.

I would like to enter this in:

Seize the Birthday ~~ no topping (unless you count the sequins embossing folder)

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog and check out the awesome colouring the rest of the design team have done, then dig out those pencils, markers, or what ever you colour with and join us in the gallery.

Frosty the Snowman ~~ Take 2

It's going to be another hot one today so I decided another snowman card to cool you down. I've used a second image from the set of 4 cute snowmen set from Sunshine Designs. I also used the same Fusion Card Challenge Sketch, it's a really great one!!!  I've also paired it with Winter Wonderland Christmas Card challenge as it has a snowman on it. So here is take 2.

Imagine my surprise when I found stars and stripes in the same Christmas pad so I figured a way to use them on the same card!!!

Close up of the snowman and the cute square dies.
There is no inside picture but it was decorated similar to yesterdays card with the same sentiment. It was just too out of focus to use.
Challenges I am entering this in are/
Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Stars and /or Stripes

Thanks again for stopping by.

Frosty the Snowman....

Just in case you need something to cool you down here is my first snowman card of the season. I have a set of 4 Sunshine Designs snowmen and I have used them so much they are perfect for sketches like the Fusion one this week.  The Jingle Belles challenge this time is Stars and/or Stripes, here is my offering for the challenge.

These little snowman are so much fun and I do them in many different colours. the striped paper is from Bo Bunny pack, the embossing folder is Sequins folder from Stampin' up.

I had this white snowflake in a discard bin, it hadn't cut properly so the center was missing but it sure works for the back drop for Mr. Frosty.

Love my vertical sentiment for the tall cards. I carried the stripes to the inside as well.

Challenges I'm entering this in:
The Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Stars and/or Stripes.

Winter wonderland ~~ Simply Snowmen

Fusion Card Challenge ~~ just the sketch (awesome sketch)
thanks for visiting today and if you feel cooler ~~ you're welcome.

You take the Cake!!!

Hello friends, family and followers it's Tuesday and time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash!! It's Donna's time to choose the challenge theme so Challenge #362 is Feed Me!! We want to see some type of food on your project, after last week's dandy challenge this on was easy peasy. Of course for me the second week of July is mega birthday time so I made a card with a Birthday Cake on it.

I used a "gruffie" from House Mouse Designs, I love this guy with the huge birthday cake, hope he doesn't eat it in on sitting, perhaps he is going to share it with his friends.

I made an easel card!! I haven't made one for a long time and they are so easy, in fact the base of the easel was in my box of "changed my mind" things. The image is also from the same box  it was stamped and never used.as was the patterned paper, nice when you can make a card out of "leftovers",as was the patterned paper, nice when you can make a card out of "leftovers", The enamel dots are over a year old, bought two packages at the dollar store I'm on the second package now.

Since there is no inside to an easel card I hid the sentiment behind the image.

Challenge 361 at Shopping Our Stash ~~ Geometric Patterns.

Canada Day is over it sure was a hot one!!! Happy July 4th to my U.S. friends and family (tomorrow). Chris. is the hostess with the mostest unusual challenges....Geometric Patterns, as I packed for the cottage for the long weekend I was tossing anything in my bag of "tricks" that I thought I might use (it's an hours drive if I forget something) and on thing I packed was a Gina Marie flower quilt die, I've had it for a long time and so happy I had it on board for the challenge as I had forgotten what the challenge was and when I got to the cottage I had no internet, so this edition of Shopping Our Stash is coming to you with the help of the wi-fi at Wendy's, Simcoe.

I have it sort of a generic card but I know I have 4 birthdays coming up next week. the quilt die is from Gina Marie and I'm sure I've had it for going on  a year and it's never been out of the package. Die cut it in some double sided paper and again in black, attached the black die with double sided tape to a back piece (would have been easier with a lighter colour) then paper pieced the design. A simple plastic dot for decoration, the layer is the reverse side of the patterned paper. Now I've used it I want to make more.

Finished inside waiting for a sentiment.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog and check out the geometric patterns the rest of the design team have made for the challenge.
