Challenge #233 at Shopping Our Stash ~~ Colour me Monochromatic with Your Favourite colour

Just a little fun for us at Shopping Our Stash with the new challenge of colour me Monochromatic use your favourite colour we decided we needed to make it (gah) pink to honour Leslie that always said that at the sight of too much pink. I probably would have made it pink anyway as it's my next favourite colour after purple. I chose a very simple design, one I have done a few times with the Floral Background stamp (retired) from Stampin' up, I like it because you can use the whole piece or just as an accent and I have done it in all different colours.  I have used Brilliance coral for the ink and it has a shimmer.

Boy did I so some "shopping my stash" with this card.  Happy Birthday was cut from a scrap of pink glitter paper, the brads are from Winners there were 4 packs and not one pack was opened. The "button" was from a package from Dollarama and of course the scrap of vellum.

Finished inside of the card with my favourite sentiment (at the moment)

Thanks for stopping by and please join us at Shopping Our Stash for our first challenge of 2016.

Something Old and Something New

I'm on the band-wagon for the Jingle Belles Rock Blog I'm not going to be behind come December 2016.  This is the first challenge of the new year and it's to use something old and something new. Well I didn't get anything crafty in my stocking this Christmas but I was at Michaels Art store and picked up some doilies at 60% off so I used one of the red ones in the package. Everything else is at least two years old.

The snowflake die is also new but the "sweater" background stamp I have had for a couple of years unused until this week, the image is one of a set of 4 snowmen from Sunshine Designs 5 or more years old as is the let it snow sentiment.

Close up of the doily, the snowman's hat, scarf and nose were coloured with spica glitter pens, the "fur" is white opal liquid pearls.

Love this sentiment and by the looks of it I had better fix that word People lol.

Still Making Christmas Cards......

I decided that I wanted to try the sketch from Fusion Card Challenge Blog and since I want to keep up making Holiday cards so I don't end up really short in the 2016 Christmas season I made another Christmas card. I used a no longer in stock Fluffles, I just think these stamps are so cute and I didn't get to use many of them this past season.

Coloured with Spica Glitter pens

Close up of fluffles, the sentiment was cut from a scrap of patterned paper.

Finished inside of the card

A Tribute to Leslie.............

This is a very, very difficult blog post today, it's been a tough few days since we found out that Leslie, the creator of Shopping Our Stash passed on Christmas Day. Although I have only known her on-line since she accepted my resume in December 2013, I feel like I have known her forever.  The challenges she came up with were fabulous and sometimes took me way out of my comfort zone. Leslie was a fabulous cardmaker, queen of CAS cards, I was in awe of them as I'm not particularly good at them. Please read some of the rest of the design team favourite cards as they will give you more insight into Leslie. The card I selected for my favourite is one she made for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stamper challenge blog (she played often) in August for the Image only challenge. You can see the blog post HERE

Leslie will be missed by so many friends whether they are on line or in real life.

Thanks for stopping by today and take a few moments to check out the other favourite cards from the Shopping Our Stash Challenge Blog.

Shopping Our Stash #232 My Precious Week 2

It's a two week challenge and I made a second card for the challenge. I really need to work on some "Winter" cards as I want to send a few to our DT members, if that doesn't work I'll just send Valentines.  Since we are still working with something you have in your stash that you keep looking at and it's too pretty to use.  Last week it was a flourish and it wasn't as hard to use as I thought, well this week I used a glitter frame, I bought them at Home Sense so long ago I can't remember  when, I would look at them and put them back in the drawer but today there is one less to put back.

This is my new favourite snowman and he is coloured with spica glitter pens and fussy cut, then layered it on a scrap of fancy paper, added a couple of snowflakes then the frame.

Close up of the image.

Finished inside

Here are some of the glitter frames I have been hoarding.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you will join Shopping Our Stash in the new year for more fun challenges.

X is for Xmas (Christmas) continues ~~ at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

It's Boxing Day and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas (for those who celebrate)  All the hub-bub is done, everyone is sitting around today moaning on how much they ate for dinner last night, or if you are my Hubby, he is munching on the chocolate he found in his stocking. The Sisterhood is having a nice break for the holidays and will be back with a NEW challenge on January 9, 2016.  Here is my second card for the challenge.

Monica is hanging around in the Holly

The stamp is Chin Up with Monica from House Mouse Designs
Here is a close up of the berries I covered with paper glaze.

Finished inside of the card.

Thanks for visiting my blog today and I will see you again in the New Year!!

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #232 ~~ My Precious ~~ Two Week Challenge

Looking for my Clear it Our Stash post scroll down or click HERE.

Wow three more days of shopping time left, I hope you are ready!!! I think I am!!! A few odds and ends to pick up on "senior's day" at the Bulk Barn. The challenge at Shopping Our Stash  is My Precious, you know that one item you keep picking up and putting away because you love it and don't want to part with it.  Well mine was a green rhinestone flourish I bought at Michaels Art store three, four maybe more years ago from the $1.50 bin and I pick it up and put it back, well I bit the bullet and used it for this challenge.

I saw a sketch I liked and thought hmm might be a good one for this challenge, unfortunately what I didn't read was it was the winner's for the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. The image was already coloured and cut, the only non scrap was the patterned paper.

I did cut the flourish in three pieces with a few rhinestones left over.

Of course I used a House Mouse image and the second bit of the flourish.

Finished Inside and the third bit of the flourish.

I would like to enter this in:

Allsorts challenge  342/343 Anything but Christmas

Thanks for stopping by today and I'm wishing you and your Family a Merry Christmas.
