G is for Glitter at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Lee glittered Edna up pretty good, gold in her hair and really glittery glasses and look at that awesome glittery background.

Challenge #177 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is G is for Glitter.  I love glitter and mostly use it at Christmas but for tis challenge I made a Birthday card.  Of course after making a "brown" card earlier in the week I needed to use colours I'm more fond of.

It's a shame that glitter just doesn't look great in photos but I used some glitter cardstock and made the rick-rack frame and the layer under the patterned paper. The stamp I used is Art Impressions Bloomer Girl but only used one of the images. You can always get these AI Girls to say something snarky or rude.
You can find the tutorial to make the rick-rack frame HERE.
I used Wink of Stella on her sweater, eye shadow, earrings and hair.

Close up of the computer generated sentiment (a play on the Frank's  commercial)

Had to finish the inside with a bit of leftover paper and some extra snark.

Challenge #437 at Shopping Our Stash is......I Need a Cup Of Coffee

And writing this post I think I really need more than one. For some reason beyond my thinking I decided to make a masculine card, WHY? they are difficult at the best of times, nothing seemed to be going together and if it had been earlier in the week I would have scrapped the idea and went for my second choice. So at Shopping Our Stash we want to see a coffee themed card, here is mne.

The stamp I used had never seen ink and I'm sure it is well over a year old, well I haven't shopped much in a year. The DSP is way older than that,  probably 4 or 5 years old, I'm always looking for masculine papers.  Because of the dark brown I added a layer of white and the Happy Birthday was cut 3 times and layered.

Close up to show the definition of the layering.

Finished the inside with a scrap of dsp and some die cut coffee beans from a coffee die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. (in hindsight should have use the whole set)

It's a NEW Year and a New Challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge!!!

It's a good start to a New Year when all the "NEW" challenges begin, the prompt for this challenge is to use something Old and something New on your project. First there is a NEW header on the Jingle Belles Blog it's awesome.  Now I have lots of unused things, quite a few Christmas items so it's not hard for me to use something "new" but the middle of DecemberI ordered a couple of new dies and they finally arrive on Thursday January 7 so I just had to get them in the big shot, so here is my card.

It's a very large three die bauble so decided to just spotlight one on a slimline card,  The back ground is a slimline diagonal die but I decided to emboss it,  once I figured out the recipe, The last big shot I bought came with long base platform but regular plates, not sure if that was supposed to be as I didn't question when I brought it home (was not a fan of the store I bought it at, not very good customer service) I still had to turn it around and emboss the other end. So that was my second "new" item. Thinking of you I cut three times and glued them together to give some elevation, this is an older item. Most of the cardstock I used was from back in the day you could get Michaels cardstock packages for $4 or less. I also brought out my Dylusions sprays which are many years old, it was one day when I had a 50% off coupon and decided sprays "in" and then I I just tucked them away as I didn't seem to have control to use them.  Very happy with the outcome. The bow is from a retired SU set.

Well didn't manage to get a good picture  but it shows how the bauble goes together.

Finished the inside with a stamp I got as a prize from the Jingle Belles, not sure why I have never played with the set before they even came with dies.  The sentiment was also a prize from the Jingle Belles and my fav. horizontal sentiment.

I will be entering this in:

ABC Christmas Challenge ~~ A is for Advent B is for Bells.

Thanks for spending some time here today and happy crafting.

A is for ATC (artist trading card/coin) is the New Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Welcome back to my blog after a Holiday hiatus, it was a nice rest and good to get back into doing some crafting. So for the first challenge of 2021 it's A is for ATC. Which is for either cards 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches or coins which are a 2 1/2 inch circle, it's amazing how much detail can be put on these tiny "canvases"  Look at the Graphic that Lee made for us this vhallenge.

Now are these not the most fabulous graphic you have ever seen.

I had some ideas but nothing I thought of  fit on the measurements but I adapted one  to fit.
Here is what I have come up  with.

Santa's Helper from Artistic Impressions "golden oldies"  section is the stamp I used and of course it is a NBUS, there were plans for it but the holidays sure did sneak up fast.

I added Plaid paper glaze to her glasses as well as gold on the frames, the fur on the hat is white Nuvo drops. Joy is from a set of mini stamps that are self inking, they are so old I have no idea of the company they were from.

Lee's graphics inspired me to make a coin as well as a card

I used the same image (as lee did with Edna) and Nuvo drops on the hat as well as Plaid paperglaze on the glasses. and of course JOY.

Since I was playing around with images to see which would fit better on a 2 1/2 X 3  1/2 inch card I finished a bonus ATCard.

This card I used
another Art Impressions stamp (girfriends) and borrowing a sentiment from another stamp set (see had many images chosen)

I'm entering this in:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge ~~ use a new/unused product (both images were unused)

Now that you checked out my artist trading cards and coin I hope you find time to join us in the challenge.  Don't forget to stop by the Main Blog and see the awesome Artist Trading cards the restof the design team have made.

Thank for stopping by today and I am hoping to keep up a bit better in 2021 than I managed the later part of 2020.

What's New with You?

Welcome to the 2021 edition of Shopping Our Stash!!! Sure hope you had a good holiday, now I didn't go anywhere but my holiday wasn't long enough. I wasn't prepare to hop on the blog so soon, then again I'm usually not working ahead.  Now new craft goodies, I didn't get any but I did purchase some to use for the challenge but CP has not delivered yet. It's not like I have used everything I have bought in the last few months. So for the challenge we want you to use your "new" crafty stuff but do pair it with something old from your stash as well.  Here is what I came up with.

My new things are of course the gnomes and the fence die cut, it comes with a grass border and a tree boarder too. What I used from my stash is the clouds and mini trees I found them in the parts bin.  After I coloured the gnomes even though they have dies to match I decided to fussy cut them, they are attached at the feet to the card but the rest of the gnme bodies are elevated.

Closer look

Closer look at the other two gnomes.

Finished the inside with another pair of stamps that have not seen ink,  The cake is from a kitten set (note to self it would make a cute slimline card) The sentiment is one of 6 that work well with a horizontal slimline card.

There you have it I used some unused gifts to myself that have never been used and some from my parts bin too. Now it's your turn so show us what new crafty things "Santa" brought.

Thanks for stopping by and check out the Main Blog to see what new things the rest of the design team have used.

What' Black and White and Red all over? The New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

Welcome to the last challenge of 2020 at Shopping Our Stash and it's a really great one. Black & white and red all over. Enterpret as you see it, so many many many options now I took it literally. It wasn't an easy one for me I had a plan and when I couldn't locate a die I wanted to use I was at a standsill but while looking in all the obvious places I found a Quilt Die, I've had for a couple or three years and used once as it is a PITA to do but so worth it.  So won't keep you in suspense any longer......

It is a Gina Marie Quilt Die and so gorgeous.  First you have to cut three in coordinating patterns, I have done it with double sided patterned paper and it was lovely due to the challenge being the three colours I only used on patterned paper. First I backed the black die cut with double sided tape and put it on the red square. then becaues the areals were sticky I paper pieces the rest making sure the plaids matched. Then to use a bit more white I layered on a square of white and because I love to pay double for postage I added it to a a black layer that I sewed on to the red layer then attached it to a white 5 1/2 inch square base.  In the center there is an Eyelet Outlet enamel red glitter dot.

These are my leftovers. I must give you a tip that I saw on one of Jennifer Maguire's blog and to use Press and Seal to keep all the bits together and now I can make two more cards, the pieces come off the press and seal very easily.

This is the inside which I left blank it's always good to have some cards you can use for any occasion.

Thanks for visitng today and head over to the Main Blog and check out what the rest of the design team have made.

Inspired by the Jingle Belles Rock Blog Banner......

Well it's not the last day for the challenge but pretty close but since we have had 6 inches or more of snow overnight and it's still coming down I had some time to make a card for the challenge. I must tell you I went a long way out of my comfort zone on this, using techniques I haven't done in years if I ever did them except in practice. The banner was saying make a Slimline card so I did.

First I blended eggshell blue oxide in all over the white panel, then added some dots to the left side  twith the same ink, toward the right I added a Christmas word stamp. then the Pinte tree which I stamped off once. The forest behind inked in Mowed lawn was stamped off two or three times. I just love how this turned out.

Close up of the words and trees, Both stamps I used are many years old and haven't seen ink in a long while. (they are happy)

The inside was finished with a a stamp I won at the Jingle Belles, I thought it very appropriate to use. I added a few snowflakes.
