With Sympathy

Hello and welcome back to Shopping Our Stash for a new challenge. For this fortnight we are designing a very difficult type of card....Sympathy, You are in my Thoughts & Prayers even being difficult to make you know they bring some comfort to the recipient. I rarely have any "on hand" so each one is personal  and unfortunately this one was needed.

The die was cut twice and layered and attached to a background I made by blending distress oxide inks and trimmed around the die cut. It is layered on a swiss dot embossed panel which has a black layer. I don't normally make cards with a wide border but it does really make the focal point pop. The sentiment was stamped, fussy cut and flat attached. The card is 5 1/2 inches square.

Inside using a sentiment from a sympathy word set, the wildflower die was on my desk and seemed to want to be part of it,

Thanks for stopping by today, stop by the main blog and check out the rest of the heartwarming cards the team have made, I am looking forward to checking out your creations on our challenge.

Santa in September

Hello all my crafty friends, I finally finished a card for Christmas Kickstart Challenge, It's sad when I miss the deadline, it means I'm not keeping up with my holiday card stash and when November arrives it will be crunch time.  Wen I am in a crafting slump I dig out a sketch, most of the time it is a Sheetload sketch with measurements and pictures. You can make multiples with patterned paper and cardstock  ( 8 to 12 sometimes) or the cutting measurements are there for making one. This is one of my favourite ones.

I love using my Stampendous mini acrylic stamps, perfect for a 2 1/12 inch circle. I could have made 2 cards with 2 sheets of patterned paper 1/2 sheet of cardstock and 2 bases.

Inside of the top fold A2 card with scraps of patterned paper and a sentiment from a Kraftin' Kimmy set, all stamps and paper are many years old.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!!

Cat in the Bag

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash the theme is Cat in the Bag so feature a purse, backpack, beach bag and/or a cat. Many choices and we are looking forward to seeing how you interpret the theme. I chose a stamp set I've had for over 7 years it makes a 3D card but I didn't have the time or brain power to attempt it, so I did my variation.

Kitty Vanity is an Art Impressions set many parts to the set but I only used 2 for the front image. Since I wasn't attempting the 3D part the dies wouldn't work so I fussy cut both the vanity and drawer. As you see there is a purse along with 4 adorable kittens.

Inside of the card using one of the cute kitty stamps that come with the set, a scrap of patterned paper and a very old hero arts sentiment

I popped the drawer up for dimension and this picture gives a much better look at the colours.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the Main Blog and see what the rest of the team have made....you will be surprised.

Finally Fall!!

Not that I had Fall to arrive so fast this year but we have to roll with the weather we are served. Here's hoping for a rerun of some summer. Challenge #266 at the Sisterhood is.........

I don't think Edna is appropriately dressed for leaf diving and I'm not ready either.
I hope you can join the challenge and adorn our blog with some Fall Leaves.

First time all summer I have had a chance to take a picture by the lake, I especially like when I take photos of my Holiday cards.
My card is made with an embossing folder on brown cardstock and I used the metallic wax set with my fingers all over using the red, green and copper. I added it to a holographic layer then I had to decide if I wanted a red or brown base and as you see the red one.

On the inside I added a strip of holographic paper and a couple of leaves and a favourite sentiment stamp.

Thanks for stopping by and checking the new challenge at SoSS, don't forget to check out the blog and see the great leafy creations the design team have made.
