It’s time to go Outdoors….we have Cabin Fever!!!

Looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post? just scroll down or click HERE

Shopping our Stash has a new challenge, we know you have cabin fever from having to stay in and watch the snow fall, at least here in Canada and a lot of the U.S. so we want you to think Outside. Now for your project you can go anywhere with it as long as it is done outside. This challenge was so difficult for me, I had lots of ideas but every day a new one popped into my head  so I’m now down to the wire to get this card made for the challenge, I have been sorting pieces of cardstock and patterned paper into a hanging file folder so when I’m making a card I search there first and I came across a piece of patterned paper and voila I knew what i was going to do. So have a peek at what I came up with.
IMG_1921
The image is one of the light houses from a discontinued set from Stampin’up, I have used these lighthouses so much, this one is Nova Scotia my favourite place there Peggy’s Cove. This one is for you Jessi. the cardstock is GP white, cherry cobbler and the dsp is retired from SU as well. (digging in my stash) I coloured with spectrum noir markers. The knot is made with red and white baker’s twine. Here is what I followed to make the knot. I just use the last two pictures as it was less confusing.
reef knot
Now on to the inside of the card, not sure which of my boys will get this card for their birthday but that’s what I have planned.
IMG_1922
Using the top note again, adding a bit of the patterned paper and some of the baker’s twine to finish it. Just need to find an appropriate sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you will join our Cabin Fever challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

It’s Tuesday, Time for a New Challenge at Clear it Out!!

At Clear it Out Tuesday it’s a Colour challenge……the colour is BLUE!!! Stash item is ribbons, fibres or twine. Head over to the Challenge Blog to get all the rules and while you are there check out what all the other members of the design team have made for your inspiration. The sponsor of the challenge is Lacy Sunshine Designs, what great images we all got to play with this week, head over and check out the designs.
I love a colour challenge that’s half the designing of a card, now couple that with a Sketch challenge and you have it made in the shade.
IMG_1923
I chose an Eleanor and Pickles digi called Pastry chefs from Lacy Sunshine designs and the sketch is from Deconstructing Jen sketch #135. I’m not even sure what the colour of blue i used is, or the patterned paper, it was just in my stash. The part of a doily (I only have one) I got at a yard sale, I added buttons with blue and white baker’s twine. Isn’t Eleanor adorable with her huge glasses, I seem to gravitate to her when I’m surfing through the store. Most of the image was coloured with my spectrum noir markers. I’m still practicing with them but I’m totally sold on them. On with the inside….
IMG_1924
I used one of the coordinating papers from my stash (lost the package so don’t know where is is from) although I know I bought two packages each a little different from the dollar store.
I’m entering this in the Sketch 135 challenge at Deconstructing Jen.
Thanks for stopping by today and I would like to see your project for the Colour Blue challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday

They have been putting snowy day images just for our challenge. Check them out.
IMG_1925
I decided to make another ATC (artist trading card) I can quickly make one into a full sized card if I need one in a hurry. The image was cut with a label 8 dies and the fancy layer was cut with Decorative labels 8 the final layer is gold glitter cardstock I bought at the Dollar store.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will find some time to get crafty and join us at The Cheerful Stamp Pad for the Snowy Day challenge.

Lots of Butterflies…………….

I had to make a really quick card yesterday and I needed something simple but effective. I saw one of my club cards and thought yes I can do that quickly. Not much stamping on it, jut cut and glue.
IMG_1919
Tempting turquoise cardstock base, the patterned paper is from  the Mariposa Matstack from DCWV, layered it on bashful blue. The pale blue is from a package I bought at the dollar store 4 or 5 years ago, if I liked something I bought it in every colour I could and some I would buy 2, The butterfly is cut with a Cheery Lynn Designs die and was cut it out of the same paper as is on the base. Then added the rhinestones which are also from the dollar store.
IMG_1920
The birthday was a couple of weeks ago so I kept the card low key, I just stamped “for you” on the front and this cute little saying from The Artful Stamper in the inside. I see there are changes happening at the Artful Stamper and I must go have a good look around. They are a Canadian company located in London Ontario Canada, they are less than an hours drive for me.
Thanks for peeking today to see what  I’ve been working on.
I hope your Wednesday is a creative one.

It’s Still January…..We have the Winter Blues

If you are looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday’s post just click HERE.
Shopping Our Stash this week is having the Winter Blues, check out all the rules over at the blog. I don’t know about you but I’m ready for spring, bright colours and sunshine but this week we need to see Winter Blues. This is and easy peasy challenge, just get in your craftroom and start digging for “blue”. Everything I used is from my scrap box, even the base for the easel card was in my scrap box. The stamp I used is from the retired set from Stampin’up called Snow Angels. Of course you don’t have to do a “winter” card just one that is predominately Blue
IMG_1915
I used my Grand Madison Window die for the second time I’ve had it for almost 2 years. The patterned paper is close to three years old. the pack is getting smaller. I added some bling to the snowflakes.
IMG_1916
I dotted stickles on the snow that is the back ground for the image, hope you can see it.
IMG_1917
Close up of the snowflakes I cut with a sizzix long die, and an EK mini snowfalke punch.
IMG_1918
Although there is not and inside to the card, I finished a small section of the back of the easel card to stamp a sentiment.
I'm entering this in the Friends of Speedy TV. make and easel card.
That all I have for today, thanks for stopping by and let me see you dig deep into that stash of yours and create some “Winter Blues” at Shopping Our Stash.

Copy Cat, Copy Cat….Challenge time at Clear it Out!!!

The new weekly challenge is Copy Cat at Clear it Out Tuesday  You can pick one of the Design Team’s cards to copy or any one that is on on one of the team’s blogs. For all the information please visit Clear it Out Tuesday Challenge blog. The sponsor for this week’s challenge is Stitchy Bear, check all the digital images they have for sale. I chose a cute zoo image to make into a baby card,  it’s nice to have a few on hand.
IMG_1906
I used So Saffron and GP white cardstock, The tiny buttons are brads I’ve had for at least 2 years and i finally opened the package. I also emboss with the swiss dots folder and finished it off with some yellow ribbon.
IMG_1907
I totally finished the inside of the card, (patting myself on the back) The sentiment is from a Stampin’ up word set. this certainly doesn’t look like the same colour as the front but I assure you it is. Sometimes pictures don’t work out like they should.
Thanks for looking today and I hope you will find some time to get your crafty on and join us for the Copy Cat Challenge at Clear it Out.

Are you Ready for Vintage?? Check out A Snowy Day!!

New challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad, Challenge 78  A Snowy Day, the sponsor is Vintage Image Craft they have great vintage images on Facebook for you to download. For the first week of the challenge I chose a cute image of two girls, I sized it small  as I wanted to use it for an artist trading card, they are 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 and usually have a couple of layers and an embellishment. Here is the ATC I made.
IMG_1914
Isn’t this the most adorable image, and it’s such an easy way to make a quick card, tag or ATC. I layered the image on basic black and a scrap of red (it has gold flecks in it) Ribbon from my stash and the snowflakes I’ve had for eons.
Thanks for looking today and I hope you find some time this week to join in the fun at The Cheerful Stamp Pad for A Snowy Day.

With Enough Caffeine I Could Rule The World……..

I need a couple of cups of java to kick start my morning, but try not to drink coffee late afternoon. I bought theses cute stamps at the December open house at my favourite stamp store, The Butterfly Moon I finally took them out of their packaging.  I thought the background stamp was so versatile as I have other coffee related stamps.
IMG_1911
The stamps I used are from House Mouse Designs the banner is made with the Coffee Background stamp and the image is Caffeine High. The sentiment is from Stampin’up. Cardstock Very Vanilla and Early Expresso. buttons from CTMH. I stamped coffee beans with Versamark watermark all over the early expresso.
IMG_1912
I used several colouring mediums, prismas colour pencils and alcohol markers.
IMG_1913
Another finished inside of a card, it really doesn’t take very much extra time to do it either. You can see the full background stamp. The coffee bean stamp is from Stampabilities and the sentiment is from Inkadinkado by Dawn Houser.
I saw this sketch and so wanted to try it although my image is not a circle. I am sure this sketch will be used many times, I love it.
I am entering this card in three challenges.
Tuesday Morning Sketches # 232 the twist is to make it monochromatic I’m close on this one, it ends Sunday.

Happy Birthday to You………………

I had a chance to work with my favourite little rodents from House Mouse Designs,  January and February have a few birthdays so I need to be ready. The image I used is called Candlelight Dinner, the mice were coloured with prisma colour pencils and the rest was coloured with Spectrum Noir markers, since I coloured the candle purple that is the colour theme I decided to use.
IMG_1902
The cardstock is elegant eggplant and wisteria wonder, the Die I use is the spellbinders reverse wonky rectangles it was my first time used them too. Buttons from the dollar store and baker’s twine from Winners.
Keeping with finishing the insides of the cards I’m making, here is the almost finished inside….it’s waiting for the sentiment.
IMG_1903
I am entering this in the Glitter N Sparkle challenge blog , Bingo challenge, and I’m just slipping in with a few hours to spare. I used Buttons, image and die cuts.
\Also entering this in the \ATG challenge at Gruffies & |Guests

Buffalo Bills……………

Do I have your attention? I decided I needed to post a few cards in between the challenges I’ll just have to make some extra cards.. I had a friend of mine ask me to make a card for her daughter-in-law then she said well I should really get one for each of the girls and my sons too. This was the last of the cards I made for her. she said her son loved sports, especially NFL football and the Buffalo Bills. In my Dude Time doodles digital folder I found a great football image and used the team colours of the “bill’s” I think she was pleased with what I came up- with.
IMG_1894
The image is from Dude Time doodles unfortunately I am not sure they are still in business, they had a lot of great cartoon type digis. I used the red, white and blue colours of the Buffalo Bills, the sentiment is computer generated. The card is a 5 X 5 square card.
IMG_1895
Here is the finished inside, the verse was computer generated as it was a special birthday.
Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been creating.

Are you ready for a new challenge to shop your stash? Miss You is the new challenge at Shopping Our Stash. I have been spending a lot of time shopping my stash, well really I’m trying to find things, since Christmas my craft room is a disaster, I have an obstacle course to get in and out of it but I will get things done, I need to make a couple of birthday cards and of course I pulled a shoe box or two of stamps off the shelf, did I put them back…NO and in the meantime another box toppled over and I have stamps all over the shelf and floor. On with my card.
IMG_1896
Now isn’t this a change of colour for me, although i slipped a little bit of pink in on it. The image I used is from House Mouse Designs the sentiment is from Stampin’up. Coloured with a combination of Spectrum Noir markers, copic markers and prisma colour pencils.the patterned paper is quite sparkly.
IMG_1897

Happy Monday!! A second week of the Ribbons challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.

The deep freeze has finally given us a bit of a reprieve, last night it was 0 Celsius which is 32 Fahrenheit but it feels so damp, guess we can’t have it all  On the up side the sun was shining on Sunday which really helps.
Time for the second week of the Use some Ribbon challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad, the sponsor is the Sweet stamp shop. This week I used a bugaboo image, it was a Friday freebie and I just wanted to play with it and get a jump start on my Christmas/Winter cards, it could be used for a winter birthday too. I have been a hold-out for alcohol markers but last week found some Spectrum Noir marker at a reasonable price and this image was coloured with the blues, the face was done with flesh toned copic markers (had them forever)
              IMG_1898
I used a spica glitter pen  on the wings and skates, liquid pearls on the at and bottom of the coat, cut the ovals with the Nellie Snellen oval dies. The ribbon is from Stampin’up and the snowflake ribbon brad from my stash. The snowflurries brought to you courtesy of an EK mini snowflake punch.
IMG_1899
I’m doing really good with finishing the insides of the cards just waiting to put a sentiment inside as I really like to pick the sentiment for the recipient of the card.

My First Official challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!!

If you are looking for the Clear it Out Tuesday Challenge click HERE.
Hello friends, are you in the deep freeze and up to you knees or higher in snow? This is a good time to get to your craft room and get creating. Do you need a challenge? Do you want to play with some crafty stuff you got for Christmas or bought on sale after the holidays? This is the challenge for you……Use something new and don’t forget to tell us what you used.
SOS front
I had bought this Art Impressions stamp before Christmas I just couldn’t resist it, but it was lonely due to all the Seasonal cards I was making so when I saw the theme of the challenge to use something new I knew I wanted to ink her up. I stamped once on some patterned paper and once on GP white, after I coloured the image I fussy cut both out and popped the birthday girl up. I flat attached the sofa to the distressed striped background and layered it on Close to Cocoa cardstock. I then added crystal effects to the wine glass and her glassed.
IMG_1890
I finished another inside, the sentiment came with the Celeste set.
IMG_1891
I think you can see the glaze on the wine glass in this picture.
Thanks for looking today and hope to see you join in the fun at Shopping our Stash for the “new” challenge.

Our very first Challenge of 2014 at Clear it Out Tuesday

This is the first challenge of 2014 and the first weekly challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday. The theme for the challenge is Thank you and the stash item is Buttons, I know you have oodles of buttons hiding in a drawer or in jars you probably have a stash in the sewing basket so dig out those buttons and let’s see your Thank you project. The sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps, they have some awesome digital images and they are a Canadian company.
IMG_1887
The image I chose is Sock Monkey with a rose. Since red seems to have been my predominant colour lately I decided it was time for some pink. I coloured the image with my prisma colour pencils and oms. I added a tiny bit of stickles to the rose. Now I said this year I am finishing or partially finishing the inside of the cards and so far so good.
IMG_1888
Supplies I used:
Image Sock monkey from Bugaboo stamps
Cardstock regal rose gp white, patterned paper from a hero arts pack.
Spellbinders Large long rectangle, border punch from SU, and the top note.

Challenge #77 Use some Ribbon!!

The Cheerful Stamp Pad has a new challenge….we want you to use some ribbon. Now don’t tell me you don’t have oodles and oodles of ribbon, so dig into your stash and join us at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.
The sponsor for the challenge is Sweet Stamps drop in and take a peek at what they have to offer. Now here is what I made for the challenge.
IMG_1892
I’m still in red mode, I really need to get the pinks and purples out, maybe next week. I used a stamp I’ve had for a while and although I have used it quite a few times it has been out of the crafty loop. The stamp is from Inkadinkado, the base is Sahara Sand, the next layer is Riding Hood red and the patterned paper is the Immortal Love stack pad from DCWV. I use my large spellbinders rectangles and added the ribbon which is real red from Stampin’up.
I didn’t make it a resolution but decided to try to finish or partially finish the inside of the cards, so far I’m keeping up, although since I am not sure if I’m using this for a get well or a thank you card I didn’t put a sentiment on it.
IMG_1893
Thanks for checking in today and I hope you can find some time to join us at The Cheerful Stamp Pad for challenge #77, Use some ribbon.

Bonus Challenge!!! Happy New Year!!!

I hope you have all recuperated from the New Years festivities, I managed to wake up to see the ball drop and then go to bed. I got caught up on some sleep  which was nice. We had an invite for dinner so I didn’t have to cook and oh was it good. Ham and scalloped potatoes so nice after 4 days of turkey. The Drunken Stampers is giving you  a bonus challenge The Tropical Hooters and the Yellow Canaries have teamed together to bring you a Happy New Year challenge, check out the rules at the Challenge blog.
My card is a Stella image from Bugaboo, as is the sentiment, they came as a pair. I coloured with my prismas and OMS.
IMG_1883
I covered the glass with crystal effects, it’s not as easy as Jessi makes it look. The patterned paper is from a Dollar Store, it is heavy and very shiny the picture just doesn’t do it justice. Next the inside sentiment which is a continuation of the one on the front of the card.
IMG_1884
I used a scrap of turquoise and of the patterned paper on the inside, bordered the sentiment in black.
I would like to enter this in the Anything Goes challenge at Catch the Bug challenge blog

Thanks for looking today and I hope you can find some time to join us at the Drunken Stampers for the Happy New Year Challenge.
