It's Almost Witching Hour~~~

Challenge #378 at Shopping Our Stash is Witching Hour we want to see Halloween/Spooky/Witchy. Donna is are theme maker for th is challenge and she loves Halloween and scary stuff so get in your craft room and create something for the challenge.

Since I need cards for my great grandsons I started with this one, my favourite stamp company is House Mouse Designs and I love the super cute Halloween stamps. I made it into a slider card, the garlic is chasing the Dracula mouse. The paper is from a stack I bought many many many years ago while in Florida.

If I knew how to use the video on my camera I might be able to show how it slides.

I was really happy and surprised to find I had packed a Halloween sentiment (which was printed last year or maybe the year before) among my stamped/printed images.

We are all closed up at the cottage for the Winter, I have everything back home now the fun starts putting everything back where it belongs.  We have spent a lot of time there this summer although without internet it was a bit of a challenge, a few trips into town to use the WiFi at the library or if it was Sunday we went to Wendy's and enjoyed the .99 cent frostys. Thanks for stopping by today and we are looking forward to your spooky creations.

It's Rudolph Days for October!!! from the 25th to the last day of the month!!!

I'm so happy to be super quick with my card for Rudolph Days I look forward to it every month I'm not always as early as this, I'm usually scrambling at the last minute.

What do you know I have used my favourite "critters" a house mouse, he is so adorable "helping?" with the string of lights. A very quick card, it looked rather plain even with the polka dot paper so I glued two think scraps of cardstock to sides. HoHoHo is from a super cute set of self inking tiny sentiments, I bought two different Christmas ones at Winners a couple or more years ago and there is nothing on the little boxes to tell me who made them.

Carried the polka dot theme to the inside and one of my cute sentiments

Embossed Trees.......

Lindsey is the Muse at Christmas Visions,
I loved her second card and thought I would give it a whirl. I had a bit of break while packing up my crafty stuff at the cottage to play along.  We still have to finish closing up the cottage so we are heading back for the weekend.  Once I get everything home it will be a fun time finding homes for everything, you know how things gravitate to an open spot.  So here is my card for the challenge.

One of my first tree stamps I bought was this Scribble Tree, I embossed it in Pewter, gold and copper. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin'up set, Painted Poinsettia, I added some glitter washi tape to tie in with the turquoise base.

Here is Lindsey's card

On to the inside of my card.

I embossed the inside sentiment too. I haven't done wet embossing for so long and it was fun. I can see more embossing in the future.

Challenge #377 ~~ Not Your Average Card!!!

The challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Not Your Average Card, I know everyone gets in a rut making the regular rectangle, square (one of my favs) circle or oval shaped cards so we want to take you far away from that "rut" so we want to see nothing in the regular card shapes we want odd shapes. Stars, hexagon, flower, pumpkin you could even make a extra large takeout coffee cup.  The design team member you can "give credit" to is ME it was my idea so get your thinking caps on and create a special non traditional shape card.

Before I tell you about the card I must mention we are at the lake for the week and going to close it up for the winter and I hadn't had a chance to work on my card so when we got the cottage warmed up I got all my equipment out and OMgoodness (not what I was thinking) I forgot my C plate for the cuttlebug, that's the CUTTING plate and I had Hexagons to cut. Well trial and error and many shims I managed the cutting of the shapes but was very happy to find those gold snowflakes in my "extras"
The image is a long retired set from Stampin'up but one of my favourites every Christmas. The patterned paper is ancient I think it is SU as well.

Close up of the gold snowflakes, these were cut last year and not used. The rhinestones are also years old and I coloured them with an alcohol marker.

I added some wink of stella to hat, mitts, earmuffs and white trim.

Since I know odd shaped cards do not stand up well I will send a easel with it,  it is a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs and cuts out of a half of 8 1/2 X 11 piece of heavier cardstock.

S is for Skulls at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

Challenge #121 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is S is for Skulls!!! When planning my project for the challenge I realized how very little I had in SKULLS.  I've had a preview of a few of the design team and didn't want to head down that route so checked out Pinterest for skulls and settled on a colouring page. Here is the finished product.

I printed the image in a card size piece layered it on silver and black I decided to go with a quote I also found on Pinterest, then added a few bones (oddly they came from a dog frame die), I thought they added a bit of interest.

Finished the inside with a sentiment I found on a free verse and quote site and a scrap of silver paper.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out what the rest of the design team have made for the challenge. Just click HERE to have a peek.

Still Making Pink Christmas Cards for the Jingle Belles Rock!!!

This will not be the last of the Pink Christmas cards but it is my 4th!! It's for a good cause and I love to see the girls spend money, remember $2.00 each for a card posted on their Blog.

As you see I had a scrap of pink alcohol background left and I had the houses cut and in my "parts" box, I added the sentiment which I won in the tag challenge last Christmas, it's from Neat & Tangled. I then layered it on silver cardstock then on a pink base.

Finished the inside with a sentiment from Impression Obsession  and a die cut tree edge.

I'm entering this in:
Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Pink Christmas for the Cure

Thanks for spending time here today and I hope you have started your Holiday stash with some Pink Christmas cards for the Cure at the Jingle Belles.

Pink is the New Orange at Shopping Our Stash!!!

The weather is changing and fall is in the air and it's October which means Breast Cancer Awareness month. In keeping with the theme that's being blog about Shopping Our Stash is stepping in with challenge #376 Pink is the new Orange. I decided to mix it up with a distress oxide ink background of pink and orange and did a Halloween card.

Its a 5 1/4 square card and the Background stamp is a very old Impression Obsession large stamp with trees and owls. I have had the cute house mouse in my stamped image folder unused and figured it perfect for a pink/orange challenge.

couldn't resist a close up of the super cute trick or treat mouse. After starting to fussy cut the little critter I was regretting it but kept going, he is popped up with some fun foam.(couldn't find the popdots)

The sentiment was computer generated and also in the "parts" box, I am not sure how long ago I printed it but that's really shopping my stash, because it made reference to black cats I just had to put one on the inside, also from the extra cuts. I have never separated the cat dies so cut all of them and the leftovers I put in a "bits box"

Session #3 of the Jingle Belles Rock Pink Christmas!!!

This will be my third entry for the challenge, I love this challenge and try to get as many cards done as I can, remember Lauren and Stephanie donate $2.00 each towards Breast Cancer research for every card added to the Jingle Belles Blog.

I sort of cheated a bit here, the image was in my printed image stash, it's from Mel-Jens digital store which is now closed but I love the images I have and will continue to used them as they are adorable. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

Continued the dots to the inside and used a sentiment from Stampabilities (unfortunately closed)

Pink Christmas for the Cure ~~ Card #2

I'm back again with the second card I made for the Jingle Belles Rock Pink Christmas.  Since I'm short on time I'm doing back to back cards today and Monday I will post the other two when I get back home to my WiFi.

The die cut is  A2 and cut on foam core for more stability although it took a few passed through the machine to cut all the way through. Let it Snow is from Elizabeth Craft designs and was also cut using foam core and back with a black diecut. The background is one I made with alcohol markers and shiny paper.

Finished the inside with a Stampendous sentiment and classic spellbinders ovals.

I'm entering this in:

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Deck the Halls in Pink

I cute the ornament die on foam core backed it with the shiny handmade inked background, it is made with alcohol markers and alcohol, very fast drying. I added a layer of fun foam before attaching it to a glitter background. Noel is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

It's Tuesday and Time for a NEW Challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

Yesterday was the Canadian Thanksgiving, I hope you all had a great weekend and of course can't forget our U.S. friends that celebrated Columbus day. It was a soggy we weekend here in SWO at the lake, the ground is so saturated we can't park on our property, so nice the neighbours okayed us to park in their area. Challenge #375 at Shopping Our Stash is Giving Thanks your choice a Thanksgiving project or just a Thank you card.  The U.S. has their Thanksgiving later than we do in Canada so now is the time to get your cards made.

Since we are at the cottage I went with a very simple approach to my card, it is an Eclipse card, rather picky to do but love the look of it. Since I didn't bring alpha stamps with me or type out Give on the computer I use some stickers.

Close up of Thanks.

Finished the inside with a sentiment and a scrap of leftover paper.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the MAIN BLOG and check out the rest of the design team projects.

It's Back for the 4th Year in a Row ~~ P is for Pink Halloween!!!

October is Breast Cancer Month and the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers loves to promote Breast Cancer Awareness with Pink Halloween.  If you enter make sure you use lots of Pink!!!

Here is what I made.

Here is the closed card, it's a Triangle Easel card.  Not as much pink as I've had in other years but I thought the paper was so cute.

The larger web is cut out of black foam core which makes it stable I didn't have to cut three and glue them together like last year. the spider is also cut out of foam core. The smaller web (I just cut the regular web down) is regular cardstock but the spider is foam core and elevated on a pop-dot.  Boo and EEK are cut out of regular cardstock which I layered on some wide EC double sided tape (eliminates gluing)

Close up of the easel part and you can see how the spider is elevated to use as a stopper.

Thanks for checking out my blog today and head over to the Main Blog and see what the rest of the design team have made.

At Shopping Our Stash for this week we have an Inspiration Quote!!

This week's challenge at Shopping Our stash is an Inspiration  Quote from Jackie Kennedy.

I love white and pearls but decided to add a colour.

The card is 4 X 6 inches as the die cut is 3 X 5 and I used foam core to cut the lovely die, it was an adventure to get all the pieces poked out. The main image is elevated with some fun foam. And I used pearls as per the quote. I have left this as another generic card for my stash.

A simple "smile" die cut for the front.

Close-up showing the pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the Main Blog and check out what the rest of the design team was inspired by.
