November Rudolph Days!!!

Things have been so crazy with making tags for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags I found myself running late with the Rudolph Days Challenge and I've entered every month since January so didn't want to miss it this year.  My son and daughter-in-law invited me to join them at the sushi restaurant today and even though I didn't have time I made it, family first is my motto, I got home in time to make a card.

Not sure if it is the camera or my lack of photography skills, even using a photo box and ottlite I can't get a good picture. The background embossing folder is Falling solftly from Stampin'up and the poinsettia is Tattered poinsettias from Tim Holtz. It make such a beautiful large cover a card poinsettia. Merry Christmas is a sticker.

You can see the beautiful red colour of the flower, I used some metalic poster board I bought at Dollar Tree, sadly they haven't had it the last 6 or more months. Happy I  bought one every time I was there so I have a bit of a stash. (the gold is the first used though)

Thanks for visiting  and stay safe if you are in the line of the bad weather.

The 25 days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 26 bonus day.

I didn't get a chance to make my card on the day but there are a couple of days to get caught up. I'm very happy I kept up for the most part. This weekend is going to be a crafting weekend, Saturday because I needed to get things done, but Sunday it will be weather induced.....there is some freezing rain in the forecast. My inspiration was a tag from Susie Lessard from Hello Bluebird.

So pretty in white, I used several die sets, Pretty pines, a holly branch, and the bow from a wreath die set. I even use nuvo drops, and they look pretty good.

Here is Susie's Tag.

What's New Today? A New Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!

Y is for Yummy at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for the next two weeks.  I decided to use a house mouse stamp for my Yummy card,  but I just didn't have any snark to put on it, they are too adorable. It is also a change from the Christmas Tags I've been making.

Maxwell is in the jar hogging all the jelly beans, they are my yummy item, I really like jelly beans but as you see there are only the colours I like. My #1 fav. is Jelly Bellys, I eat them slower as I want to taste each flavour. The dies I used are from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Finished the inside with one of my favourite sentiments which is good for any occasion that happens only once a year. Added a scrap of patterned paper  to the inside as well.

I hope you are up for the Y is for Yummy challenge and perhaps you will be able to add a bit of snark. If you want to have snarky inspiration head over to the Main Blog and check out the Design Team cards.

Thanks for stopping by today and have an awesome weekend.

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 25

It's finally here.......Day 25 at the 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019...wow I made all 25 days it has been a fun 25 days, well some were a little stressful when I had to have a tag-a-thon.  For Day 25 I had three but only one got finished today....there is hope for a couple more before the challenge is called DONE.

I used a layered tree die I have had for many years, I like it because you can have a tall tree or a shorter on. I added gold triangles that were stuck on my table leftover from the pine cone tag I made a few days ago, the star is a sequin.

Close up so you can see the gold diamonds and I did pop 3 of the layers up on pieces of pop dots.

My inspiration came from Ilda Dia's tag

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 24

It was a busy day today for me, I made two tags!! I didn't even get started until late afternoon, I'm feeling pretty good about it. I can't believe it's day 24 already, I have had so much fun deciding which tag to use as inspiration, I'm also happy I have kept up for the most days. Well the sponsor for today has such super cute almost retro stamps and diecuts, little shops which reminded me of  my Christmas village. For today's inspiration I used Cassie Trask's trio of tags (I only made one) I picked the tag because it had a cat on it and with 23 tags behind me not one had a cat on it.  Cassie did a video on how she made the tag and it was great.

The stamp set I used is from Stampendous and it is a mini set, perfect for tags, I found the blue scrap in my "scrap box" and cut the stitched circle from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Since Cassie coloured her cat as a Siamese I tried my hand at doing the same (I usually colour domestic cats) I think she/he turned out pretty good. Fussy cutting the present and mouse was a challenge.

Here is Cassie's trio of "cat" tags.

Are they not the cutest tags, and check out her video you can find it HERE hope it works.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 23

Yep still lagging behind but in the end they will all be done. Each day has brought awesome tags to inspire and of course dies and stamps you need, or want.  It's been fun getting ideas for tags,  I have a couple of groups of ladies and I since I never have enough cards to add 16 more to my list I'm going to give each of them a tag that I've made. I hope they like that idea. Anyway back to day 23 and scrolling down the design team tags my eyes latched on to one particular tag and it is Patty Folchert's Tag, there were a few more that I would have like to try but there is never enough time to do everything you want to.

I used  the small tattered poinsettias die and some scraps of patterned paper,

Here is Patty's Tag.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 22

I'm a day behind with my Day 22 tag but it needed intricate gluing and even the ottlite was not working for me, I needed the sunlight. Yea for sunlight today!!!  I wasn't sure I could participate in this one, I only have one set of layering dies but I remembered Jennifer MaGuire's video on Faux Layering, you will find it HERE.

This was the easiest of the tutorials I cut one each of Navy, Mid blue, light blue and following the third tutorial in the video I layered them, I added three blue rhinestones and a a ribbon, Oh and I made the loop for the ribbon too.

Close up of the layering, next time I'm hoping it will be easie

My inspiration was:

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 21

What a fun group of tags on the 25 days of Christmas tags blog today, I picked Elise's tag as my inspiration and because I really wanted to play with a new die that I got a while back.

My first car was a VW Beetle but it was cadet blue, and if my background hadn't been blue I might have done it. Speaking of the background it was a failed background as I really need lessons on flicking paint but since it was a car I am just pretending it is a major snowstorm.  I added some paper glaze to the headlight.

Here is Elise's Tag.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 20

Today's tag took me forever, I knew what I wanted for the tag but it took forever to make a decision, since plan A involved a patterned paper that I had none left.  As always when crafting isn't working you take a break and I had a few of those, but managed to get some important things done.  Jillisn's tag was my inspiration for today. I loved the rustic look of the red and black plaid it seemed to just tie in with the pinecones. So here is my interpretation of her awesome tag.

The set I used is Pretty Pines from Stampin'up and the wired ribbon from my stash who knows how long I have had it,.

Here is Jillian's tag

The 25 Day of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~Day 19 part 2

I'm back with my second tag for Day 19 at the 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019.  For my second tag I chose Carol's Black and Gold tag, it is so elegant.

For my tag I cut black cardstock to just under two inches so I could put it in a spellbinders die to cut the top for the tag. I hand cut the tails at the bottom.  The gold background is stars and dots stamp from Impression Obsession and Brilliance gold ink.

Here is Carol's Tag
I also liked the red tag and might make one of them as well.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 19

Hello again, I'm back with a couple of Christmas Tags for Day 19 at the 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  Oh my goodness the challenge is winding down and it has been so much fun.

This was a fun tag to do, I used a Snag em stamp from Imaginice, I searched but guess they are not around except on e-bay, I have had this little fellow for 10 years along with quite a few others that need to be used more often for tags. My tag doesn't have a lot of white spatters as I seem to need to go to a class on how to spatter paint.
I chose Karin Akesdotter's tag for inspiration

What a cutie pie.

Thanks for stopping by today stay tuned for Day 19 part 2

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 18

Good Morning and I have my tag done already!! it was an easy one even if I had to make it twice, double sided tape is not forgiving and the fact I can't center my sentiment helped too. But I'm happy with the finished results. Again I mirrored Lindsey, although there were others that use the same image she had me at "used a kaleidecolor ink pad, I have 4 of them and one still has the packaging on it. I even had the same colour she used Razzleberry it was a sign I had to use her tag as inspiration.

I even had a sentiment that coincided with Lindsey's. And I used Razzleberry taffeta ribbon.
Have I mentioned how much fun I'm having making tags?

Here is Lindsey's Tag.

I'm adding this to the ever growing gallery at:

That's it for now thanks for joining me here for the new tag.

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 17

WooHoo I'm on track again. Day 17 there were so many tags all of them beautiful, it was really hard to pick one to be inspired by but I chose Carol's Tags.

I used Impression charm dies, I don't have super tiny bow dies so I tied my own bows out of gold ribbon. Both ornaments are backed with gold.

Here is Carol's Tags (she made two)

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 ~~ Day 16

I'm back again with some tags today, Day 16 and I chose Lindsey's tag (again) I like the idea of a bird on a tag and found a stamped image to use, I coloured it with alcohol markers and fussy cut it.  Since I have cards to work on I kept Days 16 and 17 simple. Although I had other ideas when I started thinking on Tuesday.

Here is Lindsey's tag.

Baby It's Cold Outside!!!

Baby it's cold outside is not the case here in southern Ontario it's dull and damp, the snow we had two weeks ago is all gone. No wonder people are getting sick with the unpredictable weather we have.  Anyway I finally got my card done for the Jingle Belles Challenge which ends in one hour so best I hurry. For my card I used the current Sketch fromTuesday Morning Sketches.

I used my Cover a Card background stamp from Impression Obsession and of course a house mouse stamp, Close Knit Friendship with Maxwell and Amanda. The ink I used for the background is Brilliance Sky Blue and it has a pearl shimmer and can be embossed. I also spritzed the background with a shimmer spray and the ball of yarn was winked with stella a couple of times. it's really sparkly

Finished inside of the card with a sentiment from Stampendous.

Winter Wishes.....

Day 18 at Beccy's Place is to use the letter Q as  your inspiration and I managed to get a card done on the proper day. Beccy i in Australia so she is technically ahead of us here in Canada, by the time I see the prompt it's almost over. But I got a quick idea and ran with it.

I guess you would call this a FAUX quilt, I used the top die of a two die set on background dies, it's faux stitched and I added some pretty snowflake paper behind, didn't want to cover it up so just a simple Winter Wishes die cut.

close up of the sentiment and I think you can see the faux stitches.

One of my very favourite vertical sentiments  and a left over piece of patterned paper on the inside.

It's time for a NEW Challenge at Shopping Our Stash ~~ So Thankful

Shopping Our Stash has a new challenge and it's So Thankful, you can join in the  fun by making a Thanksgiving card (a little late for Canada) or just a Thank you card. I made a Thanks card. I needed a few thank you cards and needed them to be easy and simple, and believe it or not it I made a one layer card.  Earlier this year I found a huge box of note cards (A2 size) at the local Goodwill store, they were printed on the front and blank on the inside and had envelopes too. "score" . Here is how I decorated my "thanks" card.

I die cut the Thanks out of foam core and adhered it to the card, then added a trio of pale coral flowers with leaves to the corner I then coloured some rhinestones with a dark yellow marker an attached them to the centers of the flowers.

The flower dies are from a Stampin'up set I don't use very often and there are gorgeous flowers and leaves, they also some with stamps and co-ordinating paper.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the main blog and check out what the rest of the teeam are Thankful for.
