All That Glitters…Challenge #112 @ Drunken Stampers

DS112
I did it again……slipped in a card for the Flirtini Challenge week, I hope they don’ t mind. First I did think the last challenge of 2012 was a combined one, second I love glitter and couldn’t let it go by without making a card with lots of GLITTER. So if you didn’t arrive here from the Drunken Stampers blog head over there and check out what you need to do to join in the glittery mess I got into. Just click HERE,
Here is what I came up with for some inspiration to get that glitter out and create.

It is still Christmas at Clear it Out…….

I checked it out today and there is still 4 days to get a project in for the draws at Clear it Out, check it out for yourself HERE.
At the Stampin’up Hostess group this month we made some awesome cards, one of them I wanted to “case” but the only thing I had was the Very Vanilla cardstock, so putting my thinking cap on I used gold ink instead of crumb cake, I used a different set of snowflakes, but my big problem was the gold glitter cardstock and the lace. Last year I bought the white glitter cardstock from SU so I cut strips of it and punched the scallop border, then took a bic marker in beige and coloured the glitter cardstock,  I know there is some ivory cotton lace somewhere in my stash but just couldn’t find it in a hurry so went and bought some that Fabricland was clearing out for 25 cents a yard.
                IMG_1528
This is the card that I made, the card I cased is below.
                         IMG_1522
I like the way mine turned out and the recipient was very pleased with it too.
Thanks for looking today and check back again soon, I am hoping to have more time in 2013 to update my blog more often.
I am entering my card in the December Christmas challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday.

Brand New Challenge at the Drunken Stamper’s blog!!!

Wow another week has just flown by, still having some nice weather, I think that is about to turn into “ducky” weather. It is also time to close the cottage for the winter, just a little too cold for me.

The challenge this week is to make a card with a secret, doesn’t that sound intriguing, you will find all the information about the challenge at the Drunken Stamper’s Challenge Blog.
                           IMG_1495
I made a simple Birthday card although it took me long enough to finish it. The embossing folder is from Stampin’up and I added some rhinestones to the centre if the flowers. Added some polka dot ribbon and a peel and stick sentiment. I have not used them much except in class. The cardstock is pretty in pink from Stampin’up.  Now for my secret you will have to scroll down to find out what it is.
                           IMG_1496
A bookmark is hidden in the slot in the front of the card. I put a pink brad and a scrap of the same polka dot ribbon as a pull tab to remove the hidden sentiment.
Thanks for visiting today and don’t forget to stop by the Drunken Stamper’s challenge blog found HERE and join in the fun.

Confessions of a Shop-a-holic

                                          DS99
Time for another challenge at the Drunken Stamper’s challenge blog! This week is #99 and the challenge is to use shoes and/or purses on your project.
I found the cutest sparkle dsp at a dollar store and it was 50 cents a sheet, I knew it was perfect for the challenge, The image is from Stamping Bella, which is a Canadian company from Toronto Ontario. I coloured it with prismacolor pencils and oms. I cropped the image so more of the dsp can be seen.
                            IMG_1483
Bonus………I made a second card, it is a purse card, I used a design that we had done at a class at Butterfly Moon   It starts with a sheet of card stock 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 1 and 5, crease and fold then measure 1 inch at the top where the 1 inch fold is and cut from that mark to the bottom corner, cut through all layers. then add the lacy strip and handles going through all layers. The bottom tucks under the folded part to close. Add your sentiment to the inside.  Sorry I didn’t take a picture of the open card.
                            IMG_1482
Don’t forget to stop by the Drunken Stampers and join in the shopaho8c challenge this week. You have until Friday October 5th at 11.59 Pacific time to link your project. I am looking forward to seeing your fabulous shoes/purses projects.

It’s Challenge Time at Clear it Out Tuesday…….

Wow can you believe it is September and today our Ontario schools are back to “work” Hubby and I just had our 52nd anniversary on the holiday Monday and celebrated at a fabulous restaurant in Port Dover (the home of Friday the 13th) called the Erie beach, they have a salad bar that comes to your table, how cool is that. Okay enough about my life and on the the challenge at Clear it Our.
The challenge is Sympathy and your stash item is dark papers, I used a digi stamp from Digi Darla called Sunshine Flower Bouquet. The image was coloured with prisma pencils and oms, ovals were cut with spellbinders. The silver “latchette” border is a die from Memory Box and the silver butterfly is a die from Cheery Lyn Designs. My stash paper is a DCWV Asian paper pack I bought a couple of years ago in the U.S. As you can see I am at the cottage and forgot to bring my sentiment stamps with me this weekend. I always seem to forget something.
                        IMG_1474

Think Peach for Endometrial/ Uterine Cancer Month

Wow this is my first post with the Drunken Stamper’s Challenge Blog how cool is that to be up first. I am so excited to be part of a fabulous bunch of crafters. The challenge this week is to use Peach on your project in honour of endometrial/uterine cancer month. You have until Friday September 7th at 11.59 pacific time.
                      IMG_1469
As you can see the scenery is not as pretty as it is when I do my photos at the cottage but it’s nicer than the white cardstock background of taking the picture inside. Challenges are great for taking me out of my comfort zone and using peach and green was taking me there. This is a favourite design I use when i need a card in a hurry it’s fast and simple but looks fabulous in any colours you choose.

To celebrate the new blog...for the Month of September we have a contest running.

Here are the deets:

To be entered to win the contents of Spike's Trunk: (it's more like a shoebox but I liked the sound of trunk)
-play in all the challenges for September (#95, 96, 97, 98, 99)
-card must be new, no backlinks
-your card can only be combined with a sketch challenge (which is not necessary) but no others
-be sure to enter your card in the Linky Tools link for the appropriate week, all challenges are open for one week
-then send us an email when you've completed all the challenges

I am looking forward to seeing your “peachy” project on the Drunken Stamper’s Challenge Blog this week.

It is mid-way inspiration time over at the Clear it Out Challenge Blog, the sponsor is Bugaboo, what cute, cute images they have too, if you join the challenge at Clear it out you might win some of their great digis.
The image I was thrilled to play with is called Heels…….Big Bow and as soon as I saw it I thought of the glitz and glamour of the red carpet I coloured the image with prismacolour pencils and odourless mineral spirits, my something glittery from my stash is the red rhinestones and the glitter glue I have had for eons. Most everything on the card but the black glitter cardstock I have had for a long time.

Let’s have a BIG hug!!!

I made this card for a friend’s anniversary, I don’t use Yellow often but these cute hugging geese were the perfect match. The image is a cling mount (also available in wood mount) from Penny Black Designs coloured with my favourite medium, pencil crayons and odourless mineral spirits.

Of course not a whole lot of colouring here. Fleur dis Lis rectangle spellbinder was used for the white frame around the image.
Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon there is more crafting going on.

London 2012……The Olympics

It took me a while to get my head around the challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge, There is still a little time left to get your project on the Challenge Blog, it ends Saturday midnight EST.
I checked out my endless stash of House Mouse and Happy Hoppers and didn’t have anything suitable so I put my thinking cap on and this is what I came up with.
                           IMG_1444
The stamp is from House Mouse Designs, friend and Monica are the Canadian Flag Bearer, I used the colours of our country,  red and white.. The Canadian flog is from the $1.50 basket at Michaels. The images are coloured with prisma pencils and odouless  mineral spirits.
Thanks for stopping by today to check out my card for Olympics.

In Honour of Milk Chocolate Day……Hot Chocolate!!!

At the Drunken Stampers Challenge Blog they are celebrating National Milk chocolate day and National Hamburger Day for a challenge. You can choose one or the other or you might as well do both, the challenge is open until August 31st.
Since I am a House Mouse addict I chose Mudpie in a scrumptious, marshmallow filled hot chocolate. The stamp is from Stampabilities, but the mice have their own web site. House Mouse.Drop in and see the cute little critters.

I used close to cocoa, night of navy cardstock, I cut with a “Nellie” die, the fancy tag is from spellbinder, As you can see from the picture I am at the cottage and my punches are at home so the sentiment will  be added at a later date.
Thanks for coming by today, I hope you enjoyed my favourite little rodent. Remember still time to get in on the challenge at the Drunken Stampers the challenge ends on August 31st/

Clear it Out and Dude Time Doodles present a Challenge

It is Team “A” time with Dude Time Doodles for this weeks challenge at Clear it Out “One for the Boys”, your stash item is  two or more patterned papers. Masculine cards are so much harder for me than the cute or frilly feminine ones. The image I choose is “rough night Rodney” he sure looks like he had one too.
                           IMG_1441
The three patterned papers are from a hostess pack from Stampin’up that I received over 5 years ago and I’m still working on it. All the girly colours are gone though. The cardstock and paper are both Night of Navy, the image and layer were cut with  the long rectangle spellbinders. Kick back and relax is from Stampabilities.
Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to head to the challenge  at  Clear it Out and show us your masculine themed project……remember to use your patterned paper “stash”.

Christmas in July with the Drunken Stampers.

Wow it has been so long since I have done a  challenge at Drunken Stampers, The last three challenges I have had ideas and the stamps picked out but just plumb ran out of time to do them. It’s summer and we spend a lot of time at our cottage on Lake Erie and I have to tote  “stuff” to do crafting, it is inevitable that I leave things at home, Hubby said the other day when he was putting the “box” in the car, it would be easier if you had two of everything wouldn’t it LOL.
                             IMG_1440
Since it was Christmas in July with a summer twist I had the perfect image for the challenge, it is a digi stamp from Bugaboo, a surfing penguin. The image was coloured  with prisma pencils and odourless mineral spirits, The dsp is from a paper pack, sentiment and holly leaves  from Hero Arts and the cute Santa hat is from High Hopes, a Canadian company. I used white fun flock on the Santa hat, his sunglasses are covered with paper glaze.
Thanks for dropping in to see if I have been crafting, stop by the Drunken Stampers challenge blog there is still a couple of days to add your project.
