Challenge #245 J is for Jessi

We are baaaaaaack  with a new challenge J is for Jessi

I know a lot of our followers will remember Jessi se was a wonderful crafter, so talented and taken way too soon. She was on the design teams of many challenges I loved when it was her turn for the sketch at Tuesday morning sketches, and loved buttons, many of her image circles were edged in brightly coloured buttons, she was also really good at quilling and many of her cards have beautifully quilled designs on them, she could also "snark" with the best of them. My way of remembering Jessi is to use one of the crocheted circles that she made, and an image I'm sure she would have put googlie eyes on. (I coludn't find mine)

I used a Stampendous Mini Clear stamp did minimal colouring, layered it on green ten on the Jessi crocheted mat  other than the die cut sentiment I left off any embellishments as I wanted the mat to be the focal point.

Leftover scraps and a sentiment finished the inside.

I must admit I have hoarded the crocheted mats, I only used them for special cards.

Since this is a special edition of the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers to honour Jessi we will be back January 6th with a new MONTHLY challenge with new Queen and Princess badges.

Happy Hanukkah

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash!! It worked well for me since I'm still working on holiday cards. The theme is Winter Holidays so lots of choices, Christmas, Hanukkah, Happy New Year and as you see by my title I made a Hanukkah card.  I wanted to use my never been used   Hanukkah die and it was an excuse to get out the layering snowflake die set,

This is a clear front card, the back panel is a distress oxide ink smooched background, I only used two parts of the die set so there should be a follow-up card with the center snowflake on it.

I tried to et an angle you could see the acetate.

This is the back of the card where I put a sentiment and a scrap of the smooshed paper.

I am add in this to:

Whatever The Weather.....

Welcome to my blog today to check out the new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, it's an easy one this time,  Whatever the Weather!! Lots of choices Snow, Rain, Cloud or any other weather related idea.  Since I am in full speed ahead Christmas card mode I chose SNOW. We have had our first preview of Winter I wasn't impressed with it so I would like to cancel the rest of my subscription/

I have had this Olaf die for hmm 2 years, it was still in it's packaging, I had to clip all those tiny dies apart and hope for the best, I cut 2 of Olof, 2 each of the twig arms so they were stable and I glued them inside the two diecuts as I wanted to put Olaf on a Wobble. Being in a hurry I could only find a large wobble so he really dances around. I smooshed the watercolour background and stenciled the snow with texture paste. Let it Snow is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Close  up of Olaf and the stenciled snow.

Finished the inside with a scrap of blue and a sentiment from High Hopes Stamps (a Canadian store)
this stamp is at least  years old.

I am adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by today , don't forget to check out what "weather" the rest of the team have picked.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ~~ Decembere.

Welcome to the December Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge and if you have read the main blog you will already know that the challenge blog will be on an extended hiatus. Check the main blog for all the information. So here is my final offering for the challenge.

As you see the challenge is Anything Goes with the option of Festive Animals and who doesn't love critters all dressed up for the Holidays

I do love my House Mouse images and use them any time I get a chance and this little critter is so adorable with his "berry" nose and branches for antlers. I used the "Softly Falling EF: from Stampin'up for the background and a snowflake circle from Memory Box.  The jury is out on whether I am putting a sentiment on the frond, perhaps a small silver sentiment as not to take away from the focal point, What do you think?

I finished the inside with the sentiment that went with the image which is a Stampendous Clear Mini stamp set (I have quite a collection, Christmas and more.)  I added a couple of pieces of the glitter scraps and a sticker snowflake.

I am entering this in:

Critter Crazy Challenge Blog ~~ Challenge #81 Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful December.

It's Rudolph Days!!!

I am unusually early with a card for Rudolph Days but there is a reason......I decided to try a new technique with a new product, well it really wasn't going well when I finished  "playing" I was covered in mica spray all three colours that I have and I really was disappointed in the purple as it didn't have a lot of shine, and I shook it well too. Now I never trow my fails out (unless they are really bad) and when I saw a post what do you have on your craft table the "fail" was there including the silver die cut I had planned on using and when I looked at it the green "fail" didn't look too bad so I finished it and I like how it came together. I am sure I just need practice using sprays. So there is my story about why I'm early to Rudolph Days.

I used the more textured side of the  paper, it does shine nicely too but sparkle never shows well in photos. The Snowflake die is the largest of three from Elizabeth Craft Designs and was flat attached.  Debating on adding some bling to the center of the snowflake.

Finished the inside with the smallest snowflake in the Elizabeth Craft Designs snowflake set and a vertical Hero Arts sentiment.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are getting your Holiday cards done almost panic time.

Its a Candy Cane Christmas!!!

I finally found some time to craft,  and first thing on the agenda was the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge "a Hard Candy Christmas. My card was decided on when I first saw the prompt over a week age but  making it had to take a back burner to appointments and other boring thing, I at least have it done the day before the challenge linky closes.

I made a centered Bay Window card and of course I used one of my many Stampendous Mini Acrylic stamps, this is Maxwell enjoying a peppermint candy cane. The patterned paper was still on my table for a couple of other cards I made with the paper (it might have even been the last Jingle Belles challenge)
The sentiment is from the same set.

Finished the  inside with a scrap of patterned paper and an Impression Obsession sentiment.

As you see the bay window folds flat for mailing.

And here are my snippits (still a few left too)

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I've been doing, I am behind with my holiday cards but still a couple of challenges left, and January it all starts over.

Emboss like a Boss!!!

Challenge #509 is Emboss like a Boss we want to see dry embossing or wet embossing bonus points for using both. I love my embossing folders and although I have a couple of 3D folders for this challenge I used a regular folder for a new to me technique using  a music folder and since we are shopping our stash some metallic rub on set that is at least 15 years old, one of the colours didn't work but the rest was nice and creamy, and the embossing folder I'm guessing at least 10 years young.

The metallic wax in several colours was rubbed on the black embossed cardstock with my fingers until I liked the shading, added the layer to copper paper and on a black base. happy birthday is popped up.

The inside was finished with a couple of strips of copper paper and a sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today and we would love to see what you can do with wet or dry embossing.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas November Challenge

Another month has arrived and with the new month it's a new challenge at Happy Little Stamper's Christmas Challenge. It's always anything goes but there is an optional twist and here it is.

There are always these kind of people in every family that think Bah Hum Bug at Christmas but enjoy it just the same. I took a lighter look at the option and look it's a CAS card (doesn't happen often)

Quite a simple card I cased one of the cards I received last year from a friend, I used my ancient cuttlebug snowflake folder, grumpling and sentiment. and of course did a white on white A2 card.

The opening I added the sentiment in.

Here is the grumpy moose I coloured and fussy cur before adding foam tape to pop him up.

Now you have seen my "Bah Hum Bug" card it's your turn to join the challenge, remember it's always Anything Goes, no need to add the twist.

Rudolph Days October Challenge.

Here I am sneaking in the last day of October (Happy Halloween} Rudolph days is the only challenge I have manage to keep up each month during the summer "break" Nice to be back. So here is what I came p with for this month.

Yes you are seeing double? yes check it out HERE, I used the same paper and #SUYSOct2023 sketch for my last card, it works perfectly with the Stampendous Mini acrylic stamps that because they are so adorable I have quite the collection.  Although the sheetload will make 8 cards there are instructions for making a single card. I found the fair sized scrap of this double sided paper in my stash and since both images I used had candy canes it worked perfectly.

The finished inside of the card  with scraps left over from the front.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned I love this sketch and have lots more cute mini steamps to use. and of course mega scraps too.

Creature Feature!!

Finally after a long three months I'm back catching up with my holiday cards with the Jingle Belles Rock.  I love all their prompts and it has been hard not to add cards to their blog and now I have at least 6 cards to play catch up with. Well I have a bunch (depends on your idea of a bunch) of mini acrylic stamps from Stampendous and they are all perfect for #SUYSOct2023 at Sheetload of Cards by Crafty Al.

Now there is cute critter overload with the adorable penguin, don't you just love a cute penguin with a candy cane. This sheetload of cards tutorial will make 8 cards with minimal paper but there are instructions for making a single card too.

Finished the inside with a favourite sentiment and a couple of left over screaps.

I see a spot on the center of the card and just realized I think my camera lens needs a cleaning.
Mission accomplished hope that works.

Time to Colour your World!!

Hello friends I'm finally back to making cards for Shopping Our Stash challenges and what a challenge for my first one back.....a COLOUR challenge and as you know I'm terrible at colour challenges especially if there are too many choices but for this one I lucked out with on piece of 6 X 6 paper from Photoplay. The colour choices might be numerous but you only need to use at least 3 of them.

And here is my offering for the challnege.

It's been a long time since I have made a mini slimline card, I used my favourite stamp company stamps "House Mouse Designs" I chose a sketch from Sheetload of Cards January 2023 I love this design I did change it to a horizontal card as the flowers trailed too far off the side. The patterned paper is from Photoplay both sides of the double sided paper was used,   it is only 7 months old but the gold birthday sticker is ancient.

Finished the inside with some scraps of patterned paper and the perfect sentiment to match the slimline card.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will pick at lest 3 colours and join in the fun.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ~~ October

Hello fellow crafters I hope you are ready for the new challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge,  I have been unable to craft very much since July due to a broken ankle, it's not easy to wield the Air Boot around especially since you are not supposed to put a lot of weight on it the first 7 weeks but we have graduated to more weight but I take my time and do a little every day until one is done. That being said here is my 4 day card.

Now here is my "stencil" card

Before I had my tumble I had printed 4 digital images from Bugaboo Stamps and boy it has been a lifesaver to have them ready to colour, I am not very proficient with stencils I have a few but I rarely use them but the sone I used is snowflake dots which I used some paste on, I would have preferred an inked background but went with a white on white, I coloured (not well) and fussy cut and tucked in behind a snowbank. Simply done and made flat for mailing.

Close up of the snowflake dot stenciling

Thanks for looking today and head over to the main blog and check out what the rest of the design team have made for your inspiration.

PS
Be honest how may noticed my image did not have her hair coloured, there were a few ideas from friends I showed my card to, one it was SNOW d the second said prematurely white alas i was a "guess I ne new glassess" problem I didn't notice it even when it was on my blog, but now looking at it there i still a small section I missed, 12 weeks of not crafting has affected my attention to detail now here is my almost corrected image.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Rudolph Days ~~ September

How can it be the last day of September, it has been a long summer for me as you might remember I have been dealing with a broken ankle since July 13th, hopefully October 6th will see the end of the ordeal, It is really hard to make cards, just standing to pick out stamps/images, paper and cardstock was an ordeal then it was the up and down of cutting and die cutting, you can put in a lot of steps just making a card. So what I did again this month is dig into my coloured images, and my scrap box and collect what I needed to make the card the eaiest way I knew how.

The reindeer duo and moose digital image is from Bugaboo Stamps, sadly no longer operating. The JOY die cut was from an extras box, you know you cut one and then decide it's not the right colour and cute another or just change you mind on the sentiment altogether, yep do it all the time.

Close  up of the cute image but don't look too close at the colouring I haven't been able to colour under the ott light.

I'm adding this to

Rudolph Days ~~ September

Thanks for visiting today and soon I will be back with regular posting.

Rudolph Days ~~ August

Last Rudolph days I posted a card for July explaining I had been sidelined from creating cards as I broke my ankle I had a stash of off cuts that I made my card with well fast forward to August the word from the Dr was it is healing nicely but it's 4 to 6 weeks more in the air boot, which I am managing to get it off and back on  for TV watching and bedtime, all other times it is on. So this month again I found a couple of digital images I had printed off and I managed to colour them (don't look too close)  and then looked for scraps to finish the front, the process took a couple of days. Although the air boot is lighter than a plaster cast it's still heavy and in the way. Well with all that being said here is my simple offering for the August Rudolph days.

The digi is from Bugaboo Stamps (sadly they are closed)  I decided to make the birds into Winter Robin, I added foam tape to elevate the image and added a Merry Christmas Sticker sentiment.

Close up of the image, they are so adorable

Thanks for stopping by to see my one an only card I have crafted in August.
