And a One and a Two and a Three.........

Challenge #455 at Shopping Our Stash is.......Musical Notes, we want to see musical themed projects. Not many of my friends, followers and family will get the header, if you remember let me know the band leader's name.  I did have fun with this card first I googled music cards and it didn't have a link to it but I pretty well cased it. Getting towards the end of September I packed up things that I figured I wouldn't need, it will only be a few more weeks until I close for the winter. Even after I'm done I will be making several trips to bring all my crafting supplies and things from the pantry cupboard home, next where do I find homes.

  • This was an easy card to make (with the exception of the planning of circles)  Since I was embossing the white layer (a cuttlebug dot folder eorn old) I wanted to stablize it by backing it with black, I think B&W is just classy. the music layer is from Stamp'in up and I have had it a few years. Since I am not versed in "music"  say the "line of notes" is elevated with some clear dots. The small music notes are from Die-namics.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts (2003)

  • I cut 2 of the music dies with heavy 100 pound cardstock and glued them together and added some clear dots to elevate it,

I found this very ancient wood mount stamp from the Artful Stamper that was in London Ontario, they even had a store at the Galleria mall and I was know to frequent it often.  I chose the sentiment as it is for a very, very good friend.  I don't often use washi tape but I found a small roll in my stash and it seemed fitting to go along with the music die cuts.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the Music Notes the rest of the Design Team have made, you will find them HERE.

U is for Ugly at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Hello friends, family and followers, it's time for a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Thanks Lee for the great graphic.

My crafting for this challenge was a major challenge, I could just write up a post on everything that went wrong and how ugly it was and how ugly I got about it, but putting that aside here is my card.

Most everyone knows my least favourite colours are the ones in the paper of the background/wallpaper, I know I used them on my Fall/Autumn ATCs but there was lots of red. So for my "ugly" card I used what I thought was the ugliest paper I could find in my stash. Of course I had to use my wine drinking Art Impressions girlfriend, all my AI stamps get lots of mileage on the SoSS blog. I stamped a scrap of kraft cardstock with a woodgrain stamp and added a white baseboard. The sentiment is computer generated. I fussy cut (don't look close) the image and popped it up on the background.

Close up of the sentiment, I must have really been in a hurry to get these pictures over, couldn't even get it centered LOL.

Well there you are my project for the U is for Ugly challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and don't forget to head over to the Main Blog and check out the rest of the ugly cards.

A Tiny Craft (ATC) Installment #2

Hello and welcome to the second monthly challenge for A Tiny Craft Challenge.

For September the theme is Fall/Autumn which is appropriate for this time of year. The nights are getting cooler and the days are so much more comfortable than in August. For this challenge I made a quartet of Autumn leaves and colours.

The background is oxide ink smooshed on watercolour paper, the sentiment I heat embossed in black and it is one of 4 from Hero Arts which are the seasons. I made a couple of alcohol inked backgrounds on photo paper and this is what I used to cut the leaves from.

This gives  a beter look at the die cut leaves, the large one is flat attached and I cut two extra leaves out of scrap and layered the smaller leaves. The enamel dots are "homemade" with Perler Beads in a toaster oven outside one summer, (they really smell when they melt)

Closer look at the leaves that are popped up.

Another look at the quartet on a different background and the leaves are not as shiny in the picture.

Back to the Books!!

Challenge #454 at Shopping our Stash is Back to the  Books (books/reading themed or use a page from a book or text designed paper) easy peasy right? I hope you will play along.

The image is Betsy Booklover from Kraftin'Kimmie stamps not sure how long I have had it in my stash but I'm guessing well over a year, I guess I was saving it for a special occasion.  After I coloured her I fussy cut so I could make a summer scene, The clouds are from a Christmas die. I used Elisabeth Craft Designs stitche rectangles and scalloped rectangles.

Finished the inside with a Printworks sentiment stamp. Two scraps of off cuts from the blended background to add some interest.

I would like to add this to:

Cookies For Santa!

Cookies for Santa is the theme at the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge. it is an inspirational picture, now usually I don't go for them as there are usually too many things to pick from and I can't decide on which way to go with it but this time it was easy here is the  photo.

I love the look of these cookies and of course the non-traditional colours too. Here are my cookies.

As you see I chose to make sugar cookies with my favourited snowmen stamps from Sunshine Designs the company that made them is no longer in business but was from the Ottawa area. Because I wanted to use all 4 I made a 5 1/2 inch square card. The sentiment is popped up on 4 layers of heavy cardstock circles. I stamped coloured and fussy cut the snowmen so I could add them to the background that was made with distress oxide inks and a blending brush.

Finished the inside with scraps of paper and cardstock and a woodblock sentiment that has no company name on it, I have no idea where or when I bought it but it's cute to use with my snowman stamps.

Happy Little Stamper Christmas ~~ September Edition.

Oh my goodness it's September where oh where has Summer gone?  As much time as I can spare I have spent Summer at the cottage,  I try to do my crafting there, unfortunately sometimes I'm missing a major part of the card I'm doing and have to wait until I get home, drawback is I don't get to use the lake as a backdrop.

As you see the challenge is Anything Goes but there is an option of Non-Traditional, I love non-traditional colours, Pink has become very popular for Christmas now, as Pink Christmas for breast cancer so I decided to to a different route for my card.

I decided that my new Non-Traditional colours are Teal/Turquoise and Purple.  I coloured the penguins (they were a printed image in my stash when I find the owner I will post)  First time using the snowglobe die, although I could have just cut the base but I wanted to stress myself out by trying to glue that tiny frame and as a result it's a tad crooked. The frame and base are silver (the base picked up on my skintone, didn't notice until I put it on the computer)  I use 5 1/2 inch square bases I buy from Len's Mills store 5 in a package and they include the envelopes. there is a purple layer and a teal layer and the white is dry embossed with Gently Falling EF from Stampin'up.  I die cut the snowbank added an ancient "rub on" sentiment and popped up the penguins finished it off with my attempt at using nuvo drops.

Close up of the penguins

Now on to the inside

The inside was finished with a couple of curly scraps and a sentiment from Stampendous.

I'm adding this to:

It's a New Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

Here is Edna to introduce our newest challenge.

For the next two weeks at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers it's P is for Paper Piecing so get those fussy cuting scissors out and paper piece us a challenge project. I have a couple of go to images that I paper piece when it's called for but I decided to try a new one. Although it's a cute image, not a whole lot of paper piecing was involved but the way my week was going it's a darned good job.

I chose another Art Impressions girl again, but of course a different one and I'm not sure I have ever inked it before. I dug out a Spellbinders Opulent Ovals die set and Nellie's Multi Frames ovals to do the die-cutting. The accompanying sentiment  was cut with a Stampin'up word bubble die.

Close up of the sentiment which was part of the "One to Brag" set.

The inside was finished with a few scraps and a Studio G sentiment from the $1.50 bin at Michels

I'm adding this to:

Seize the Birthday ~~ #222 Anything goes (the topping is Pastel)

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to head over to the MAIN BLOG and see what paper piecing the rest of the design team and our reigning Queen Rachel have made.
