New Monday challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad

Oh my goodness two weeks are gone again, and where did they go? These days are just moving way too fast for me, I want to enjoy the Fall season for a long time. Winter is way too long here in SW Ontario
If you haven’t been to The Cheerful Stamp Pad blog yet don’t forget to head over there and see what the other members of the team have done..Our sponsor for challenge #70 is Lunagirl and the theme is “TAGS”.
IMG_1756
Like every Friday I am rushing to get ready to go to the cottage and being the great procrastinator I am, I left printing my image until last minute. Can you imagine my surprise when without warning I was out of colour ink in the printer. It did print the pictures but they were in a sad state of different colours. I picked the best one that was sort of shades of blue and coloured it with my spica glitter pens. I was so happy when it was finished  and really looked good.
Supplies
Image…. Lunagirl  awesome digis you have to check them out.
Cardstock…GP white, wisteria wonder, patterned paper from $ store
Accessories… Spellbinders small long rectangles, Sizzix tag die, pearls, lace.
Thanks for visiting today and hope to see your Tag on the Cheerful Stamp Pad blog.

Happy Pumpkin Season!!!!!

Happy Sunday, nice and warm and was sunny earlier and such a beautiful fall day. Traveling around Norfolk county there are rows and rows of pumpkins in the fields, I even saw a tractor with two trailers hooked to it just chocked full of pumpkins. So this is the Pumpkin Season. In a small town near us when we are at the cottage has a Pumpkinfest, prizes for the best decorated house….they know how to do it up big!!
I got this digi from Bugaboo on their Freebie Friday, and just ran out of time to get it finished for their challenge, story of my crafting life, usually a day late, but it worked perfect for a sketch challenge at Freshly made Sketches.  The card is 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 inches square the patterned paper is from a prize I won at least a year ago.

It’s Saturday and time for a Drunken Stamper challenge!!

Team Yellow Canary invites you to join the fun at the Drunken Stamper’s Saturday challenge. The theme this week is THINGS and the  thing is DIE CUTS, what could be easier unless you don’t have a single die.
DS143
I hope you will head over to the Drunken Stamper’s Blog and see what all my Yellow Canary teamies made to inspire you. You can also click on their names on the sidebar of my blog. Here is mine……
IMG_1751
Just imagine I made something without an image and no colouring “gasp” it sure doesn’t happen often. But I saw this design and just had to try it. I used two dies to make the focal point. The lattice sizzix die and the Window Frames from Stampin’up. There is vellum behind the die cut. Ribbon and sentiment were added along with rhinestones which seem to have been lost in the picture. This looks so awesome IRL.
Thanks for looking today and come back again soon. You have until Friday October 4th at Midnight to enter the challenge.

Fall is here!!!

Almost the end of September where has our summer gone? I like the Fall, daytime temperature in SWO is 20 C and the night temperature is usually 6 to 9 degrees Celsius nice and cool for sleeping.. I haven’t put the furnace on at home yet but the cottage is a lot colder due to it being a “summer” cottage. It would be winterized but it’s nice to have a change for the Winter.
I follow House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge Blog and love to make cards with my favourite rodents so try to do as many as I can, some weeks it just doesn’t work out for me, that being said it’s been  three in a row….Wow.
IMG_1752
The challenge at House Mouse & Friends is Monochrome…..I love doing monochromatic cards, they are so easy just find shades of the same colour. I was working on this image for a fall birthday and when the challenge was posted  I thought “perfect” I addend the small flowers for fun. There was a Sunflower challenge and I didn’t bookmark it but I am sure it is over.
Supplies

Check out both of our sponsors they are very generous with their prizes, and make sure you read the rules of the challenge at the Clear it Out blog.
If you checked out last weeks card you will notice a theme here, Old Cars…you can make some great masculine cards with old cars & trucks. I went out of my colour comfort zone on this one,
IMG_1744
Even if I went out of my comfort zone with using green I went with a favourite die to use, a Nellie Snellen scalloped oval. I used paper glaze on the windows and the headlights, of course the biggest thing was that I distressed the crumb cake, “gasp”

Accessories…Nellie Snellen die, wood grain background stamp,
Paper glaze from Plaid, screw brads from the dollar store 5 years old.

Born to Shop……..

Wow a second post today, I am just catching up some of the images that are already coloured. When I saw the image I knew I wanted to enter the challenge at Catch the Bug, It’s a BINGO challenge, you get to pick a line and make your card to match. The line I chose was Sentiment, Twine and Button. I picked an easy one but it matched the sketch I found at Freshly Made Sketches. If you haven’t seen the sketches they are great!!!
IMG_1749
It’s overcast here in SWO today, last night we had had torrential downpour and it’s still damp here at the lake. I much prefer taking my pictures in the sunshine on the porch, although too soon it will be time to pack up and winterize.
Supplies
Image is from Bugaboo JJ shopping (I didn’t print the sentiment)
Cardstock, GP white, always artichoke and Pear Pizzazz
Patterned paper…a scrap from my table.
Twine…green and white baker’s twine

More House Mouse…….

I have been trying to get a few get well/thinking of you cards ahead as I am the official card maker for our bowling league. I made one last week and when looking through my box of “parts” I found an image I could finish and make it another get well card. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, I have to hurry to get it in for the challenge as it closes tonight, nothing more frustrating than getting a challenge finished go to the blog and finding out it just closed. As you notice I speak from experience, lol.
I found this cute House Mouse Image already coloured in my stash and it was a nice size to use for the Sketch challenge card. This sketch is a keeper I really like it and will use it again.
IMG_1746
I am not sure of the colour cardstock I used, I think it is Tangerine tango, GP white and the patterned paper is from the Green stack from DCWV. it is textured and so many great designs, it also uses 70% recycled paper. Now the inside, wow I actually finished one at the same time as the front. The sentiment is computer generated from   Squido.

Autumn Leaves…….with my House Mouse friends

I saw this challenge on House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge, I knew which one of my many, many House Mouse stamps I wanted to use. I brought it to the cottage but when I was going to “create” my card I did not bring my Twinkling H20s with me so when I was home last week I packed them immediately. My idea was to paint the leaves. I hope you like my card for the challenge. You have until Saturday September 21 at midnight EST.
IMG_1741
Wow look at the shadows I caught in the sunlight, it really looks like the leaves are floating, now wasn’t that a happy accident. I did this sketch technique at Stamp Art last year when i took a Christmas card class. the oval was cut in the “frame” with a Nellie Snellen scalloped oval die. the gold embellishment is Thin line border stickers bye Dazzles. Now you say what did you do with the “cut out” piece, I will show you.
IMG_1742
Waste not want not.
Supplies I used
Image turning over a new leaf with Monica (house mouse designs)
Cardstock…Really Rust, GP white
patterned paper from a DCWV Asian stack pad.
Sentiment from The Stamp Barn although the business has been sold you can still get images from The Frogs Whiskers which is still in Ontario, Canada.
Accessories…thin line border stickers, Nellie Snellen scalloped oval die and Twinkling H20s.
Thanks for looking today, you are welcome to stop by anytime.
