Rudolph Days are Here Again!!!

So much fun to keep up with the Holiday cards with Rudolph Days, it starts on the 25th of each month and runs until the last day of the month (February you have to be quick)  So here is my card for August Rudolph Days.

I have made a cute scene with Caroling Penguins from Penny Black, I coloured the image with Spica Glitter Pens and fussy cut it. The background was made a few weeks go with distress oxide inks I die cut a couple of snow banks and added a street light to finish the scene, then dotted a few tiny rhinestones  for snowflakes.

Close up of the super cute carolers.

Since my front image was layered on Elizabeth Craft Designs scalloped rectangles, I carried the theme through to the inside, I added one of the two sentiments that comes with the Penny Black stamp set.

It's a Charmed Life.....

Shopping Our Stash has a new challenge this fortnight and Chris is the hostess and has decided it's a Charmed Life, we just want to see a charm on your project. Easy Peasy!!! So go dig through the embellies drawer and pick a really neat charm to add to your project.

I needed a birthday card for a friend and thought I can have a two-fer, Birthday and Challenge can't get better than that.  The stamp I used is called Stipple Rose (ret 2006.) from Stampin'up, I have had it for many, many years.  I made it into an A6 card so I could use the edge dies.

And since the theme is "charm" I found this little heart charm in the drawer I keep odd stuff, I'm sure this charm is older than the stamp.

I carried the oval theme to the inside for the sentiment.

Tag! you're it!!

Super challenge at the Jingle Belles Tag! Your'e It!! now you can make a tag or put a tag on a card, I made a tag that can be put on a card later if I happen to need an extra one.

What a fun tag to make, the fancy circle is a spellbinders die cut, I had made a bunch of distress backgrounds and the deer were die cuts left over from last year's holiday crafting, they are die cut out of some suede cardstock I picked up at the $$ store a long time ago and they feel soft.

Q is for Quarters

The ABC Christmas Challenge has some really good themes this month, P is for Penguins (not done yet) Q is for Quarters and R is for Reindeer (still on the drawing table.  So since I remembered to take my four Sunshine Design snowmen to the cottage this past weekend I managed to get a card done,  I have had the set of 4 snowmen for many years. One road trip I was on with my fellow crafters  to Ottawa we went to Stamp Barn and had a tour (they have since been sold) and I bought this really cute set, I have used them as single and as a set for many Christmases. The Frogs Whiskers sells Sunshine Designs and many of the Stamp Barn stamps and they are Canadian.

The 4 snowmen/women were stamped and coloured then die cut with a stitched square set, mounted on a square of blue then elevated with foam core and added to a background of embossed snow.

On the inside I added one of my favourite "snow" related sentiments from High Hopes Stamps which is also a Canadian Company.

It's Time......

It's time to enter my ATC in the Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge for August ~~ Theme Time.

I made a Artist Trading Coin for the challenge, the base is a scalloped die cut from Black foam core, I only had the white centered black foam core at the cottage but it made a good base to put my die cut pocket watch on, gave it lots of stability.  At home I have a 2 1/2 inch punch to use but here at the cottage I had to go with the scalloped circle as it was the official size.

Anything Goes with Dies......

One of the Happy Little Stampers August challenges is Anything Goes with Dies. I had some extra die cuts from an earlier card and decided to make it up for the challenge.

Three die cut trees, the fancy square is my new favourite die and I was planning on making it into a frame so I flat mounted it and inserted the square with the trees on into the opening. To carry the gold look I added the Impression Obsession Peace Die.

Close up of the sentiment.

Inside finished with a Stampendous holiday stamp.

Thanks for visiting and seeing what I've been  crafting.

It's a Blue Christmas at the JIngle Belles......

It's not really BLUE at the Jingle Belles but they want the cards to be predominately blue an I think I did the job!!!

Of course I had to use a House Mouse image, it really looks cute in blue. The background was made with distress oxide inks on the teflon mat and spritzed with water then using a Cover-a-card stamp from Impression Obsession,  I stamped it in Blue, (hindsight which I used the darker ink)  Stamped JOY and added a few "enamel" dots.

Really bad photo but it was very hard to see because of so much white and I was fighting with a lovely breeze off the lake.  I stamped the inside with a Stampendous sentiment, which is the only holiday stamp I brought to the lake. I think I need to make a list for my next trip to the cottage.

Thanks for stopping by today and I'm happy to say one more holiday card for my stash!!!

Challenge #402 at Shopping Our Stash is "Gone Fishing"

The new challenge at Shopping Our Stash is "Gone Fishing" we want to see a fish, sea-creature or a fishing theme. I used a never been out of the package Stampscapes set called Lakeside Cove (small)  it is an 8 piece set and I've had it at least 5 years and I was very intimidated by it, so I made a background with distress oxide inks and stamped my scene on it.

The scene was stamped in black on the blue background, I went a little overboard on the flying geese so decided it would look better in the oval. Really hard to tell what colour the card is but it's very dark navy and silver.  Since the object of the challenge is "fish" I'm pretending my canoeist is heading to the cove to fish.

Close up of the canoeist, I'm sure I will get much better using these fantastic stamps, I do have my eye on a couple more that will be great for the set. clouds and water ripples, now to find them.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the great "fishy" cards the rest of the design team have made, then head to your craft room and make us your idea of "Gone Fishing"
