Neutral Joy!!

Finally I have a card made for the Jingle Belles Challenge ~ Neutral Noel. Now neutrals are not my favourite group of colours but after a couple of fail, I know how can you fail one colour well it happened, I also do not use inks to distress the edges, but I did not once but three times. I guess reason I love doing the Jingle Belles challenge is they take me out of my comfort zone and that's a good thing.

Stamped the Impresssion Obssession Inc. stamp on vanilla cardstock and edged i with walnut stain distress oxide ink and a blending brush, layered it n some odd piece of brown cardstock The patterned paper is from a Carta Bells 6 X 6 pad, edged with walnit stain and layered on brown cardstock. The joy was cut out of a matte metalic cardtock.

finished the inside with a sentiment and layered on a brown layer.

W is for Watercolour

It's a New challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

What a gorgeous water coloured background Edna has made for herself.

Hello friends, family and followers, W is for Watercolour, well it's not my forte' I have lots of equipment, tombow markers, watercolour pencils, twinking H20s, and many other things that could be used on the watercolour techniques. Today I made a color burst background, I have never had any luck using it but with time closing in on me to get the card done I had to go with it.

I have tried using color burst many times and this was the best I have ever done with it, I had many inky paper towels and very inky fingers. I didn't want to cover up my work so went with a very large Happy Birthday which I cut 4 of and glued them together for some dimension, it certainly was not easy as this is a very fine die cut. I'm sure I'm still sporting glue. Now if I had remembered to bring my wide double sided tape it would have been much easier.

Since I made a pretty card I had to add a slightly snarky sentiment.

Since I finished this in the early evening there was no lake setting and I'm not really a person to "stage" my cards but I wanted to show the three colours of color burst I used.

I'm adding this to:

What has Long Legs and dresses in PINK?

It's a Flamingo!!!  Hello my  crafty peeps....It's a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, #448 Tropical Delights. You have a lot of choices for this challenge, palm trees, hula girls, Tiki bars, blue drinks and the list goes on an on. I chose a flamingo, water and flowers.

I used a three step flamingo stamp and I am very pleased I got everything in it's proper spot with only 2 tries, the first one was not bad until I stamped the beak/eye and it looked like he/she had a neck tattoo. I cut the first out and used it as a mask to do the sky.  The flowers and leaves are from a stampin'up set Botanicals, and the dies. This is the first time using the stamps. (I put the veins in the leaves.) Other than a practice run with the flamingo I have never attempted making something with it.

Finished the inside with a flower/leaf and because I didn't think too far ahead last Sunday I don't have any sentiments with me that were suitable,  (just like the last card LOL)
I'm back home for a few days and I will take time to organize better this trip, It is not easy to decide what you are going to be using for the next 10 days,  I take all my food with me as well and twice this past week I was thinking of making a recipe only to find out the spice I needed was at home.

All Bundled Up

The challenge at the Jingle Belles is "All Bundled Up" which interprets to Lots of Layers. Layers are not a problem for me unless it's for a challenge then I have a problem, Not as many layers as I had planned but it's only my second trip to the cottage and my "gathering" wasn't as good as I thought,  Note to self organize a whole card including the inside sentiment.

Isn't he the gumpiest of gumpys? I made a 5 1/4 inch square card, I have a base and two layers and the image and 3 layers. plus the sentiment popped up. The patterned paper is Carta Bells Cabin Fever.

As I said my gathering skills were not good last Sunday when I packed I only brought a couple of inside sentiments none were really worthy of the grumpy snow bear.

I am adding this to:

Challenge #187 T is for Texture

Hi!! thanks for tuning in to the latest challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and for your viewing pleasure here is Edna all texturized via Sistah Lee.

I only wish I was this good.
Here is my offering.

First what a comedy of errors, I had everything almost done when I was at the cottage last Monday, I didn't have skin tone copics with me, so when I got home to finish the card all was good, until I found out I had no camera with me,  so got ready to use my phone and found out, even though I kept telling myself to glue the embossed panel the right way I didn't, so fortunately I had a second one I really deemed a fail but had to use it anyway, This was a Jennifer Maguire technique to sand the matte metallic paper but I got carried away with this one which is why I said fail. At least it had Texture.
I used my favourite AI girlfriends and the sentient too, which is why it looks better with water drops instead of balloons lol.

Finished the inside with a scrap of the metallic paper and a sentiment from the snarky set.

Thanks for visiting today and don't forget to check out the MAIN BLOG and see what the rest of the Sistahs made.

Fur Babies and lots of them.............

Fiaally warmer weather and of course we went from 3 to 30 in a matter of days, you sure can't adjust that fast anymore. It's my first actual crafting trip to the cottage, it's always a "what did I forget this time?"  There are so many things to do the first few trips and everything seems to be "new" for Toto, what ever I'm working on she is there, doesn't have the concept of what is NOT hers.

My favvourite time is when I can take my card to the breakwall and use the lake as my backdrop. Today was very trying though, there is a beautiful breeze that kept blowing the card off the easel.
I used a stamp/die set I have had for quite a while 6 month to 1 year, the dies had not been separated and my clippers were at home (both pair) so I fussy cut all those super sweet kitties.  Die cut the gras and clouds added a sentment from the set and voila a slim line Birthday card.

Finished the inside with a 6th super cute kitty alas no sentiment, I have some really nice long sentiments which of course is still at the other crafting place. I also didn't remember to bring my stamp positioner, which might present a problem for the image I planned on using next. I was hoping not to have 90% of my supplies at the cottage when I have to pack up in October.

I am entering this in:
