Shopping Our Stash is going "Outta this World"

Looking for my Clear it Out post scroll down or click HERE.

Shopping Our Stash is going "Outta this World" and they want you to use (Aliens - most monstahs would work here). Alternate challenge for those alien-free crafters: Something celestial - moon, stars, planets, etc. So I'm really one of those Alien-free crafters, then again I'm not too big on something celestial but I managed to fins an super cute free image on Pinterest.

I coloured my alien with copics and fussy cut (I said a few words too) popped him up on some paper, layered on silver then on a black base. I used the dots I had made with the mini pony beads and the smaller ones from perler beads. Paper glaze added to his eyes and antenna.

Close up look at the alien.

I used an already punched label that was a leftover from last weeks crafting

I had two images printed to make this challenge with and I wasn't sure I was going to post the second one but I wanted to make a tag with it and give it to hubby for a bookmark. He usually has several books on the go and always needs another book mark. I used an image from Sweet Pea Stamps created by Courtney McAnsh to the moon and back.

The black tag was spritzed with glitter spray

Thanks for visiting today and gather up those alien, monsters or moon and stars and enter in the challenge, just remember to check out the rules and see which theme the other members of the design team have done.

Back to School is the Theme ~~ Stationery items are the Stash!!!

Clear it Out Tuesday is going back to school!!! at least for this week's challenge, the stash item is stationery things, paperclips, paper fasteners, staples.  Well I have no one going back to school and I had very little in my digi stash for the sponsor this week so I had to stretch your and my imagination. The sponsors for the challenge are Di's Digis, Digital Delights and Sweet Pea stamps.  I chose a digi by Charity Dauenhauer called Faithful companion. BTW I love fairies.

I made a 5 1/4 inch square easel card, I saw the design in a card maker magazine that was picked up for me at  a yardsale by a friend. It looked like the fairy was dreaming about starting fairy school in September. The paperclips I used were from Walmart stationery dept.(there are more in the package than I will need for a lifetime).  That is the story of my back to school offering for the challenge.

Here is the card when it is closed for mailing.

Thanks for joining me today and I'm looking forward to some fabulous back to school project. Check out the rules for entering HERE and see what the rest of the team has made.

Challenge #203 ~~~ Play Misty For Me

Looking for my Clear it Out blog post scroll down or click HERE.
At Shopping Our Stash we want you to “Play Misty For Me” -- use a mist/spray of some kind. Either store-bought or make your own. This one was a stretch for me as I have only used a spray once, I have three of them at least I didn’t have to go “shopping” or make my own, one of my DT teamies sent me two shimmer sprays one clear shimmer and the other pewter so I used them both.  We are at the cottage for the weekend and I had to pack supplies and hope I packed the “right stuff” and I didn’t do too bad. My image is from Sweet Pea Stamps and it is named Steam Punk Old Lady by Sandra Caldwell.
IMG_2899
I grabbed the gears embossing folder as I was thinking it went well with the image, of course I could have brought my cogs punch to use. I had  better get more organized next week. the two embellishments are from my stash. I used both clear and pewter shimmer sprays. I used a cardboard box to spray the layer after I embossed it. I went for a 20 minute walk while it dried, when I came home the cat was in the box, (I can’t see any shimmer on her)
IMG_2900
This little embellishment was in the bottom of my tote that I carry my equipment in, and it just fits the theme perfect. I also distressed the layers,it only seemed right that I do it for steam punk.  I wish you could see the shimmer.
IMG_2901
When I took the picture the  crystal effects on the monocle was not completely dry, but looks good now.
I am entering this in the progressive challenge at Sweet Pea Stamps on Facebook.
Thanks for stopping by today and dig out your glimmer mist, shimmer sprays and join the challenge.

School’s Out is the challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday

The unofficial start of summer is the long weekend for the 24th of May here in Canada, I hope you had a wonderful weekend and did some fun things. We opened the cottage and there is still a lot of things to do and I haven’t set up the internet yet until we spend more time than a weekend.
Soon the children will be out of school for the summer so at Clear it Out Tuesday we want to see your projects showing what the children do when school’s out, the stash item is Brads or Eyelets or both. The sponsors are Di’s digis, Digital Delights and Sweet Pea Stamps. I used a super cute digital stamp from Heather Valenin at Sweet Pea Stamps. It’s Rory playing baseball.
IMG_2886
For my stash items I used brads, a pinwheel and a pink lemonade

IMG_2860
The image was coloured with costal cabana blendablilities from Stampin’up, copic markers and spica glitter pens. The cardstock is Kraft by recollections, Bermuda bay (SU) and printworks patterned paper which I thought matched the flourishes on her dress.

As with the first week of the challenge I was mesmerized by the elephant and had so much fun creating the card, this week I couldn’t decide which other image I wanted to use……..so I did two. The Cheerful Stamp Pad would like to to join us for this awesome Zentangle challenge. The sponsor is Sweet Pea Stamps if you haven’t checked out their great stamps and digis from many fabulous designers. Both my images were from Norma J. Burnell digis.,

As you see I did a Halloween card (you can never be too early for them) the image is named Treat Hummer. coloured with my Spectrum Noir pastel alcohol markers. Some patterned paper from a Halloween stack pad and a scrap that was on my table. Orange and white bakers twine (a scrap fest purchase) to finish it off.

What’s great about Mondays? A Challenge!!!

The Cheerful Stamp Pad’s challenge #104 is “SPRING” we are so looking forward to spring here in Southern Ontario as Sunday it started to snow and it’s a real mess out there and way too cold for me it might be a snow day for the schools. Since I have nothing important to go out for I get a snow day too and will get some fun stuff done.  As I said the Theme is “Spring” it’s whatever it means to you. The sponsor is Sweet Peas Stamps and they have a great group of artists that design for them. I picked Awareness Ribbon Angel by Charmaine Flannery. I chose to design it in pink for breast cancer awareness and for Spring.
IMG_2648
I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches I thought the sketch was perfect for my image,  I used three scraps of patterned paper for the banners and put star dust stickles on the wings.

Week2 of Valentines continues at The Cheerful Stamp Pad

I don’t send a lot of Valentines and I didn’t make a traditional “red” heart valentine but did make the flowers pink. I’m still looking for the few valentine stamps I have so I just added a cute strip of candy hearts to the sentiment spot. The sponsor is Sweet Pea Stamps,  I like to go surfing to see what they have to offer.  There are rubber stamps as well as digital ones, and quite  few different artists. This week I chose Blossom by Theresa Sherman. It is a beautiful image with lots of flowers and a butterfly.
IMG_2633
I made an easel card using Labels 8 spellbinder dies and Decorative Labels 8, I added some spica glitter pens to the flowers and bracelet but it really doesn’t show in the picture.
