Getting Sketch-y!!

Hello crafty peeps and welcome to my post for the New challenge at Shopping Our Stash!! it's a sketch.

Here is the sketch, so shop your stash and create something following (as close as you can) the sketch above, you can flip it and make a horizontal card, even tip it upside down, all is good as long as we can see the sketch.  I followed the sketch to a "T". I use sketches all the time but when faced with one for a challenge I seem to get the "deer in the headlights look" and struggle but here iete is.

For my image I used a mini Stampendous stamp I have a "boatload" of them, all occasion and Christmas and since I'm falling behind on my monthly plan to make at least 6 holiday cards a month I just thought I would try to get caught up. The stamp had never seen ink and I am sure it is 4 years old, The embossing folder is older too and one of my favourites, it's Sizzix from Stampin'up called Softly falling. The ribbon is sparkly and quite stiff, I taped it down with soo-wang tape and I have no idea how old it is, my guess is at least 10 years The penguin was coloured and fussy cut and flat attached to the watercoloured background I had in my scrap box and te snow was also an already cut scrap in the same box. I like to see if I have any larger scraps  before I cut a full sheet.

Close up of the super adorable penguin.

Finished the inside with a scrap of red and a Stampendous sentiment. (one of my first sentients I bought when I started stamping)

Absolutely NO Patterned Paper Allowed!!

The challenge at the Jingle Belles is a Cardstock Christmas (I hope Acetate is allowed), so not even a scrap of patterned paper is allowed. I did have this idea last challenge for clear but of course I ran out of time to make it but I was planning on using the idea sometime and it was just sooner than I expected to make it.

Acetate cards are nearly impossible to photograph The birch trees, cardinal and stag are from Impression Obsession. I was lucky to have reverse dies to make the snowbanks in my stash, first time using them for what they are intended. The sentiment was cut in white and shadowed in black.

I also photographed it with a white background, at least the reflections are not as noticeable.

A closer look and I added snowbanks to the back for the sentiment and backed it as well to put my logo on it, it also provides stability to the acetate.

Thanks for dropping by today and have an awesome week.

Y is for YUCK

Another 2 weeks has flown by and there is a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

I struggled with the theme but obviously Lee had it all figured out, great job again Lee!!

I have no idea how this stamp set popped into my mind, maybe in my dreams, but it was all I had that was remotely a YUCK idea. The Llama Drama set is from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps and I've had it since 2019 and it's never been inked. I paired the image with some cacti patterned paper I found at Dollarama last week and the super cute flowers are a die cut strip from Crafter's Square I got for $1.25 at Dollar Tree. The sentiment was cut with SU speech bubble die set.

Just a closer look at the Llama and sentiment.

Finished the inside with a couple of scraps left from the front and the rest of the flower strip die, which I cut in white and coloured with markers

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check the MAIN BLOG to see the rest of he design team projects,  I hope you join in the fun for this challenge.

Level Up!!

No matter what age a Birthday card recipient is if they love video games they will love to receive a "gamer card".  I made the card for my great granddaughter's 14th birthday, it is a full slimline card which was perfect to add some "coloured" greenbacks, as with all teens cash is the only way to go.

Since Pokemon is a favourite I added a picture I found free on google, although it's not very clear I embossd the yellow layer with an embossing folder from the TH crazy cat set. The design is a mixture of everything I saw while searching. The tv is flat attached at the basee but elevated  The controller is flat attached but the head set is popped  up.

Finished the inside with a couple of game boy  controllers and a favourite sentiment.

I'm adding this to:

Seize the Birthday ~~ #257 for a child (where gaming is involved everyone is a child.)

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been making.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow......

Hello friends, family and followers, it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and it's Somewhere Over The Rainbow so here is what you need to do to enter your project in the challenge. Add rainbows to your project or use a rainbow colour palette. I do have a rainbow die but time constraints I went with a Rainbow colour palette.

Last weekend there was a Card Maker Success Summit free to sign up you could also buy a VIP pass which gave access to all the videos etc, and since I have done a weekend online crop before I knew I never would keep up but the free part was good each day you had 24 hours to view the videos that aired that morning, One was on blending the oxide inks so I decided (from memory) on trying my hand at it. The inks I used was Lumberjack Plaid, Spiced Marmelade, Squeezed  Lemonade, Rustic Wilderness, Blueprint Sketch, Uncharted Mariner and Villainous Potion.  I used a Happy Birthday cover plate to cut the blended background, backed it with turquoise (the only colour I was happy with) Added it to a top fold base and a poppy die cut.

The poppy stems were flat attached and the flower heads were popped up.

I finished the inside with a 2009 Penny Black wood mount sentiment, and a few scraps of cardstock.

Along with the "old" Penny Black Sentiment, the Birthday cover plate I have had for at least 2 years and it has never been used, the poppy die is not quite that old but also had never been used. Felt really good to give them the love they deserve.

Do You See What I See? ~~ I see a Narwal

Finally I managed to get my second card done for the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge ~~ I can see Clearly Now. have a clear element on your project, my first I went half clear but went a bit smaller this time. I'm hoping I have time for a third and get back on track with my personal quota.

I started with a trio of cover plate dies and attached them to a navy top fold base. The adorable Narwal was coloured with alcohol markers flat attached to a circle of distress oxide inked paper. I addded some clear beads then used a shaker card pouch from Impression Obsession (many, many years old, only one left now) then cut a scalloped frame to cover the edge of the pouch (they never go on straight for me) The sentiment is from the set and te Holiday die is one of my new sentient dies, I loved the font on this set and can you ever have too many sentiment dies?

Close up of that darling little Narwal in his winter scarf.

finished the inside with a couple of scraps of the water coloured inked paper and an Impression Obsession holiday sentimente.

Happy Little Stampers March Christmas Challenge.

Back from an extended winter break and ready to inspire you to work on your Holiday cards. As you will see the challenge is always Anything Goes but with an option.

Very easy job picking out my stamp to use for the challenge I have 3 or more House Mouse with Candy Canes, 4 full size and a mini. I rarely have a problem using a Housee Mouse Designs stamp for any challenge, the hard part is not to use them for every one. LOL. So here is the image I decided to use.

I made a 5 1/2 inch square card the image is a House Mouse Design and the patterned paper is from Heidi Swapp. the sentiment doesn't show up very well in White but I don't think any colour would show up well on the candy cane striped paper.

A closer look at the darling little mice, the candy canes were coloured with the Lipstick spika glitter pen.

Finished the inside with a bit of patterned paper and an Obsession Impressions sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today and now is the time to get your Holiday craft on so you don't end up in chaos in November.
