Look What Santa Brought Me ~~

The Jingle Belles Rock challenge is Look What Santa Brought Me.....like Lauren I'm my own Santa!!! and I never have to return anything. I did buy a few dies just before Christmas and the first week of January hubby ended in the hospital so life has not been the same as far as crafting goes. He is on the mend and I'm slowly getting back to crafting.  I'm sliding in on the last few hours of the challenge with this card.

2019
I have a lot of cute and beautiful Christmas items but not much in the line of religious items so I saw this die and thought it would round out my Christmas crafty things. I made the background "galaxy" style with oxide inks, I think I got a little heavy with the water splatter.

Finished the inside with a Stampendous sentiment. (one of my favourites)

There you are my second Christmas card of  2019 I had better start doubling up or when November gets here I will be in chaos.

I'm adding this to:

Challenge #388 ~~ Ode to Jessi

For Challenge #388 at Shopping our Stash we wanted to do an "Ode to Jessi" she was a really bright spot on our design team and was taken way too soon, only 42 when she passed December. The challenge is to go to her blog and find something that inspires you and create a project, please put a link to the inspiration piece.  I'm sure I spent hours and hours looking through her blog every one of her cards inspired me, I picked three or 4 then settled on one. Here is my Ode to Jessi. To check out Jessi's Blog just click HERE.

5 1/4 inch square card, Gina Marie leaf die,

Here is Jessi's card.

Since I didn't have enough red bells I used cardinals and the red bells were used instead of silver ones under the bow.  I was inspired by the colours, the beauty and the simplicity.

All supplies for my card are older than 1 year

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to head over to the Main Blog and check out what inspired the rest of the design team.

Challenge #387 at Shopping Our Stash is ~~ Inspired by Quilting.

January 26th is Visit your Local Quilt Shop Day so here at Shopping Our Stash we want you to be inspired by Quilting.  I have done some quilting, not huge queen size quilts but some place mats and a purse.  I really dug deep into my stash for a lattice sizzix die, I can't remember when I used it last and the patterned paper is a couple of years old. It has been so long since I have crafted anything,  things got a little busy over Christmas, some "bugs" and I had a lot of trouble getting back into the swing of the challenges.  I am so happy that I could join the rest of the design team for the challenge.

Very simple way to make a quilt card, I die cut the lattice and glued it to the patterned paper and embossed it, layered on early expresso glued it to pink which I machine stitched it to the expresso layer. This is a 5 1/4 inch square card.

Close up of the embossing and the hello which is from the playing around with new dies bucket.

The above card was my Plan B since I had not located the Gina Marie Quilt Die that I planned using, Murphy's Law says as soon as you finish the project you will find what you were looking for and I found it, since coming home from the summer at the cottage I haven't managed to get everything in the proper place. So here is my plan A.

So many possibilities with this die, I decided to go with neutrals and I made two.

I used some ancient double sided paper from Stampin'up long retired

Just to show the difference when you reverse the patterned papers.

I hope I have inspired you to join the challenge at Shopping Our Stash, I'm looking forward to seeing your Quilted project.
