Reminder ~~ There is Still Time to Join SoSS for M is for Monster!!!

Hello again, I haven't done a reminder post for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers but I made my ATC (artist trading card) into a Birthday card for my hubby. It was my thought from the start and he thought it was great.

I found some interesting paper for the background and layered it on silver then on a black base. The silver was a scrap in my scrap box. The hello was cut from another scrap.

Finished the inside with a left over scrap from the front. I can't remember the company that made the verse.

Thanks for stopping by today to see how I made the ATC into a card, you have until Friday night October 5th at 11.55 EDT to enter.

It's Tuesday and a Special day!! Shopping Our Stash has a NEW Challenge.

As I said it's a Special Day, not only is it a new challenge, #363 Smooshing at Shopping Our Stash, it's Rudolph Days, Let it Snow at the Jingle Belles it's my Hubby's Birthday!!! So first things first!!! Smooshing, love the term, in the last little while I have done this technique often, with distress oxide inks especially with winter cards but this time I wanted to do something different so I did alcohol ink smooshing. (how to do it at the end)

The colours are so much more brilliant IRL. I cut the smooshed shiny paper with an Elizabeth Craft Design stitched oval added foam core die cut poppies with a cute hello, both are unmarked. The background is embossed with a cuttlebug asian folder.

Used the off cut from the oval for a layer on the inside.

This smooshed background was the first I made and it is what I used for the instructions. The die cuts were done with foam core. And the oval was elevated with fun foam.

The sentiment is from Stampendous and one of my oldest cling mount stamps.

I shopped my stash for the shiny cardstock (5 years old or more) Technique haven't done in years either,  everything is from my stash, even the foam core I bought 1 1/2 years ago to make a photo booth and it never was used.

Now on with the instructions.

Inside a large zip lock storage bag I put a sized piece of cardstock, this is for knowing where to put your markers.
Scribble all over the plastic bag with the desire colour alcohol markers making sure you cover all over the area of the inside piece of paper.
Then you spritz it with rubbing alcohol and it swirls together, take your cut piece of shiny cardstock and lay it carefully on  top, don't let it sit too long. lift it straight up, check to see if it how you like it. and it drys really quickly (no waiting) forgot to take a picture of the finished piece (duh) but here is another picture of the card.

M is for Monster

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers invites you to play along with M is for Monster!!!

For this challenge I made an Artist Trading Card with the thought I would make it into a Birthday card for my hubby, I'm hoping to do this on Monday, Artist Trading Cards are fun they are 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches and are never sold, they can be given away and traded. I've been in a few swaps and have a binder with "sports" trading card holders to house all the swaps and the odd ones I make just for fun and challenges. I found this cute monster on pinterest when I searched monsters.

I saved what I thought was a failed galaxy background and  it worked great for my background, I layered it on silver then on black. "monster" was coloured with copics and fussy cut. The sentiment is computer generated.

Closer look at the atc and the sentiment I think it's perfect for my hubby.

Thanks for joining me here today and head over to the MAIN BLOG and check out the
Snarky FAQ. (especially no more than 10 other challenges and please add our grapic when you link up your project.)
then check out the rest of the monster cards/tags/ATCs

Peace on Earth ~~ with the Jingle Belles!!

I found some time to work on a card for the Peace On Earth prompt at the Jingle Belles Rock!! I die cut the background from foam core, it really takes a lot of running it through my cuttlebug to get all pieces to pop out but I do like the elevated look of the filigree and the oval was the perfect place to put the word Peace, since it is the word that is required for the challenge.

the die cut is a different size, 4 1/4 X 6 inches but it's beautiful I bought it from a friend so I don't know the name or company. The poinsettias and background are made using simmer cardstock with a gold/vanilla colour.  Peace is an Impression Obsession die.

Closer look at the peace and poinsettia, the center of the flowers was plain and I coloured them with my markers.

Finished the inside and you can see the difference between the white and the shimmer cardstock.

Thanks for visiting today and have a great week!!!

It's Tuesday and Time for a NEW Challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!!

At Shopping Our Stash this week we want you to upcycle!!! It's up to your interpretation, but please tell us what the item is because we might not be able to see it immediately.  I was struggling with this one, I usually use something hubby found on the beach with his metal detector but this time I wanted something different. First here is my card.

the leaves an flowers are from a Botanicals die set from Stampin'up, the background is and embossing folder that name eludes me at the moment. Rhinestones from my stash

I purchased a new purse, it's a LUG and this was the tag that was on it, when I saw it sitting on my desk I thought "aha" it's my upcycle. I did shorten it to fit and rounded the corners added some ancient gold ribbon.

The quote was my inspiration for the colourful flowers.

I carried the floral theme to the inside.

Thanks for spending time today and we would love to see your upcycle projects. Head over to the Main Blog and check out the rest of the design team's projects.

Challenge #118 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is ~~~ L is for Leaves

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers new challenge is L is for Leaves it's an easy peasy one, we want to see a Leaf or leaves on your project.  I can't believe it's September already, school is back in and thanks mother nature for giving us a reprieve from the humidity here in SWO.

I used my favourite stamps House Mouse Designs, I don't make a lot of autumn cards but I really wanted to use a embossing folder that is all leaves. I started with some colourburst is greens, gold, and yellows with the odd splash of magenta, then I embossed it with the leaves folder. I coloured with alcohol markers and fussy cut it out, then I realized how close in colour it almost disappears into the pile of leaves.

Close up of the happy mouse.

Finished inside.

Thanks for stopping by today, don't forget to head over to the Main Blog and see what leaf projects the rest of the design team have made.

Challenge #370 ~~ Crazy for Colouring

The challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Crazy for Colouring!!! And I do love to colour. I also used this challenge to make an Anniversary card for my Hubby, September 3rd was our 58th anniversary.

The stamp I used is a Mo Manning stamp I bought from Stamping Bella many moons ago, when they were still in Ontario.  If I have used it before it's only once and thought it was appropriate for 58 years.

I seemed to have left my anniversary die at home along with another I wanted to use so I took advantage of the gold sentiment stickers I did take to the cottage.

This sentiment stamp is from Impression Obsession and I have had it a long time but to use it I had to take the paper backing of the cling stamp. I hope it's happy to be inked now.

For our anniversary the last few years (this year was no exception) we like to go to the Erie Beach Hotel for dinner, they have an awesome salad cart that comes to the table and good food too.

Thanks for stopping by today and dig out those markers, pencils, gelatos or what every you love to colour with and join the colouring fun at Shopping Our Stash.
