A Girly Monster Card!!!

Guess what time it is? 3.01 p.m. Tuesday!! and my time to post on the Eyelet Outlet Blog!! Let me tell you it's so great when you can use a few brads, a bit of bling and some paper flowers ( all from the Eyelet Outlet Store) to make a card because I left my markers at home this weekend.

Since most guys (no matter what age) don't like flowers I decided to make this a blingy, girly monster card.  Those monster paper flowers from the Eyelet Outlet Store are so cute and are a perfect match for the Eyelet Outlet monster brads  The two smaller flowers are flat attached and the center one is popped up, when I finished I knew it needed some bling so I grabbed the Jewel Strips you can find them in all colours and in pearls too at the Eyelet Outlet store.  and added them to the edges of the blue layer and dotted a few inside the circles of the embossing.

close up of two of the monster brads and the flowers

check out how awesome those rhinestones are.

Eyelet Outlet items I used
there are many, many designs and solid colours too.

You really need to check out all the fabulous products the Eyelet Outlet has to offer.
That's all for now, see you again next Tuesday at 3.01 p.m. EDT.

Another New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!!

Hello and a fabulous day it is!! A new challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Lazy Summer Days, which translates to "what are you going to do to relax"? Well since every chance I get I want to relax at the cottage and how I relax mostly is to craft and take walks to the dead end and sit on a rock watch the boats and the water.

As I mentioned I like to craft at the cottage and it's always hard to remember everything I'm always stressed to remember medications especially the cat's meds, I make lists but you would think since I truck certain tools back and forth that I would remember them....nope, left my markers at home,  I didn't have but 5 distress markers and none of them were blue or brown so off to the dollar store and bought some pencil crayons that will remain at the cottage for the next faux pas.

A closer look at the image, I love this set it's called Summer by the Sea and so far this year I have used 3 out of the 4 images, sadly it's retired from Stampin'up.

Stuff I used on my card
Sketch by Sweet Wednesday Sketch 2
Stamp from Stampin'up
Embossing folder - Darice (never been used)
Spellbinders Small classic ovals
Flower and Hello unmarked dies
Cardstock mostly used scraps
Blue, expresso, sand, white

I'm enter this in:

Now I've shown you how I'm relaxing it's your turn to show us how you are relaxing this summer. So head over to the main blog check out the few rules and see how the rest of the design team are relaxing this summer.

Let's get Arty with the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

I don't know about you but I'm not very "arty" , I'm not into art journals or mixed media although I've collected a lot of equipment because I want to try. I was hoping to start an art journal but alas ran out of time as life got crazy for a couple of weeks. Well the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are wanting everyone to get Arty for the next two weeks and join us for challenge #87 A is for Arty. After a few false starts, several hours watching videos I finally came up with some watercolouring.

This card is 5 1/4 X 7 1/4 the method I used was ink the Stampin'up large bg stamp with versamark watermark and embossed in white on watercolour paper. Using a paintbrush I wet the sections of flower and then using Ken Oliver's colorburst powders I coloured the image. I don't have any blue so for the background I used mermaid lagoon and a watercolour brush.

there are tiny specs of different colour in the colourburst as I only used one for the flower and one for the leaves.

I was so excited how the background turned out I had to take a picture of it, and for that reason my card is "big"

Well here are my "fails" although I'm sure I can do something with one or two.

Top left is putting powder on first and then spraying
Bottom is using more water spritzing
the top right was using a spellbinder's stencil (never used) and mixing texture past with merlot colour burst and spreading it over the stencil (more practice would help)

Well there you have it ~ my success and my "fails", I am totally sure you are much better being "Arty" than I am so head over to the Main Blog and check out the fabulous "arty" works of my Sisters then Get Arty and join us.

Beautiful................

Hello again.  It's my day to post on the Eyelet Outlet Blog today and after a few false starts (my first two plans didn't work) I finally finished a project.  I hope you checked out Stephanie's project today it's fabulous. So I took a page from Stephanie's "book" and covered some teal cardstock with the wide leaf washi tape from the Eyelet Outlet Store, here is what it looks like.

I cut a flourish die in the same teal cardstock and covered some white cardstock with the same wide leaf washi tape and cut out the butterfly and the word Beautiful I added the rhinestone swirly bling from the Eyelet Outlet Store for the butterfly's tail and dotted a few more around the background.

Close up of the swirly bling and how lovely the washi tape wrapped cardstock worked with the dies.

Items I used

Well my time is short today so I will wish you "happy crafting" and see you next Tuesday at 3.01 p.m. EDT

Shopping Our Stash # 308 ~~ Think Pink!!!

Wow my second favourite colour!! PINK. Shopping our Stash challenge 308 is Think Pink. June 23rd is national Pink day, use the colour pink predominately!! Every time I use pink I think of Leslie and how she would roll her eyes and say "gah" pink.  I seem to be on a House Mouse roll along with 5 1/4 inch square cards. This challenge came  at the perfect time as I have been asked to make two it's a girl and one it's a boy cards. Here are my cards for the challenge, yes I made two.

The first card is using a Happy Hopper from House Mouse designs,
the spellbinder ovals I haven't used in a while and the stamp is several years old along with the embossing folder (one of my first) and the it's a girl/boy die set.

Now this stamp is much older than the first one as is the embossing folder. The newest item on this card is the square dies and they are 6 months old as is the skinny pink glitter washi tape from the Eyelet Outlet Store.

The sentiment on one of the cards is computer generated and from Verses4cards.

U Rock!!!

Another Tuesday has rolled around,  and my day to post on the Eyelet Outlet Blog.  Today I have a totally "boy" card for you to see. I'm really on the 5 1/4 square card band wagon lately and this one is just that. First I took a tip from Stephanie (check out her blog below mine on the EO blog) I covered a 5 X 5 piece of cardstock with silver star washi tape from the Eyelet Outlet Store, popped the rock star boy (bugaboo) up in the corner and added the U ROCK letters.

As you see it isn't the easiest card to get a picture of but it looks so awesome.  I added the gold stars  from a enamel dots & stars package from the Eyelet Outlet Store.  What would a music card be without music notes? Well I added the music note brads also from the Eyelet Outlet Store. Check them out for all your embellishment needs you will be amazed at the selection of brads, enamel dots and washi tape.

See the awesome music brads and enamel stars.

Shopping Our Stash #307 ~~ Happy Mail

The new challenge at Shopping Our Stash is related to anything to do with mail, letters, typewriters, pens what ever you can think of that has to do with mail. I really had to wrap my head around this one,  I must say I was confused over it but it is really easy.  I brought a house house stamp with me that had to do with writing and a couple of 6 X 6 patterned paper packs, Be for I started I check out the paper to see what colours I would be using.....can you imagine my surprise when two out of the three packs were Christmas, okay we went with that as I always try to enter the Jingle Belles Rock challenge at least once a challenge.  Here is my finished card.

I sure was happy with the patterned paper pack it had a few mail related in it, of course the Jingle belles challenge is layers lots of layers I knew I saw a sketch that I could use, gotta love it when you get a `three-fer`and they all mesh together. My image is from House Mouse Designs and is called Taking Notes featuring Monica, the sketch is from The Challenge 86 (sketch)

As you see Monica is writing a letter to Santa

Finished inside using the same patterned paper that is on the front. I was amazed I remembered to bring a Christmas sentiment with me. kudos to me!!!

Now what is great about Stella....she has her own sketch challenge and I used it for this card.  I used some wide washi tape I found at the local dollar store, two I put on white the third I used teal cardstock, the background is from a paper stack from Walmart.

I used some Plaid paper glaze on the glass and glasses.

Garden Helper

It's Tuesday and my day to post on the Eyelet Outlet Blog.  As the title says it's all about the garden and I have a cute little helper to showcase the  gardening brads from the Eyelet Outlet & Brad Store.

Sorry for the "overcast" picture but there isn't a good way to take the picture with the rainy, overcast weather the last few days. First I added some  Coloring Book Washi Tape, leaf pattern to the blue cardstock, then stitched on it,  The cute image is from Stitchy stamps,

I wanted to make a cute scene but I didn't have any flower brads so I used lollipop brads from the Eyelet Outlet and added some cardstock flowers behind them and coloured the stick with a copic marker.  I also added a couple of colourful butterflies also from the Eyelet Outlet.

What would a gardening card be without the super cute garden tool brads and the straw hat brad both are from the Eyelet Outlet Store.

SOS #306 ~~ Dad or Dude

It's almost time for Father's day to roll around again and Shopping Our Stash would like you to make a masculine card,  I am working on my cards at the cottage and for the second time I totally skipped over one of the challenges, fortunately I caught it in time but brought very little masculine items with me but for some reason or other I added a lighthouse die to my little box of dies to bring with me, how lucky was that.

I also had the Father's day die with me, also a stroke of luck.

Since this is my hubby's card I added the Beach sign.

I will have to type up a sentiment on the computer when I get home and hope when I come back to the cottage next week I "pack" better.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the  Main Blog and check out what Dude cards the rest of the design team have made.

In and Out the Window ~~~

My schedule has been really off the last few weeks but I really want to keep up at least one Christmas card with the Jingle Belles Rock challenge which is they want to see "openings" .  I used Art Impressions Original cling set called Snowman Note-ables

I really wanted to emboss the background with a Sizzix embossing folder but realized it doesn't fit in my Cuttlebug, which means the cuttlebug heads home and the Big Shot comes to the lake. I stamped the image twice and cut him out along with a second set of mitts and scarf.

Side view to how how the frame and snowman are popped up.

Finished inside and not even with the precision press can I stamp straight.
