Shopping Our Stash #339 ~~ He Loves me, He Loves Me Not!!!

It's a Valentine challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!! Valentine's day is only 15 days away so now is your chance to make your "honey" a Valentine, or for someone Special in your life. As I did need to make a Valentine but for the "Good Bread Company" I sent a Christmas card and it was returned so after Christmas we hand delivered it and of course bought a loaf of cranberry pecan bread.....yummy. So if the Valentine comes back we will just have to make another trip.  The Good Bread company is in Vittoria, Ontario (near Turkey Point)  All the bread is free of chemicals, preservatives and dies.  I plan on putting a computer generated sentiment on the front to say "we (LOVE) the Good Bread Company".

Of course I had to use my House Mouse stamp, I bought it last year and finally got to ink it up.  This features Amanda and Mudpie and is titled Take a Bite out of Love (2007) The crumb cake base and the melon mombo cardstock were out of my scrap box but the patterned paper is new this year, it is a 6.75 X 4.75 valentine mat pad from Martha Stewart Crafts I found at Dollarama (score)

I couldn't resist a close up of the super cute pair of my favourite critters.

Finished the inside using some leftovers and a sentiment from Inkadinkadoo which is ages old too.

Jingle Belles Challenge ~~ Text Me!!

Wow I'm not rushing at the last few days to get a card made for the Jingle Belles challenge!!!  My card is made with all sorts of scraps, The background and the base are the only two things that were not in my scrap box, or "parts" box. Even the image was printed a while ago in anticipation of a challenge. So here is my "text me" card.

Remember I said scraps well the tree and the let it snow were in a scrap box all ready to be used. You have to love it when you can make a scene without a lot of work.  I had the snowshoeing Bugaboo boy printed so after I coloured him up I fussy cut and popped everything up but one snowshoe.

the Let it Snow was cut several times and glued together.

Super cute bugaboo boy image.

Finished the inside with scraps of patterned paper and of course a small tree from the scrap box. A simple Warm Winter Wishes sentiment to finish it off.

Sunshine and Flowers

Now that my friend has received her Birthday card I can blog it and add it to a couple of challenges, which is unusual I manage to get it added to a challenge before it's over, that being said I used Sketch Saturday #497 which of course is over as a new one started Saturday.  It has been so dull and drab, the snow is almost gone and it's just all one colour so I decided a flower infused, brightly coloured card.

It's my first time inking up this super cute House Mouse Designs stamp.  I coloured it with alcohol markers and elevated it with a rectangle of fun foam, this makes it stable for mailing.

Close up of the super cute image.

Finished the inside with a sentiment and a strip of Birthday washi tape from the Eyelet Outlet Store.

Challenges I'm entering:

Just us Girls ~~ Photo Week (I saw yellow and black)

Seize the Birthday ~~ No Toppings (one layer is not for me)

Thanks for checking  my blog today and have a great week.

It's Saturday!!! Time for a New Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

Challenge #102 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is "Farm Life" if it's on a farm we want to see it on a card!!!  I don't have a lot of farm animal stamps but Bugaboo Stamps has lots of different ones although I printed one I didn't use it I decided to go with a set from Stampin'up I have only used twice and to make the same card as I have made here....so have a peek.

Yes it's an Etch-a-Sketch card, I used a tutorial I found on line.  I stamped the image on vellum and backed it on grey to give it the look of the screen. The tutorial was easy to follow.  The Etch-a-sketch will be 58 years old this July. Did you have one?

Close up of the sketched farm animals

Finished the inside with a super sweet sentiment....sorry no snark this time, I'm not sure my snark button is working....perhaps next time.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog and check out what the other dt members have made and I know they have managed some snark.

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Three of a Kind #2

Finally I got to finish the second card for the Jingle Belles challenge We Three Kings or Three of a Kind which means to put three of something on your card. I did have three cards in mind but of course sometimes the best laid plans go astray.

Another super cute trio from Bugaboo Stamps, the embossing folder is the original snowflake folder from cuttlebug and it embosses so crisp.

Close up of those adorable birds on a limb.

The Joy is a silver/clear plastic sentiment I found at the local $$ store, I'm really not a sticker kind of crafter but this just did the job.

Thanks for checking today, I'm keeping up with the holiday cards.

Shopping Our Stash #338 ~~ Birthday!!!

Now the holidays are over it's time to re-stock your supply of Birthday cards, the gals at Shopping Our Stash want to see birthday cards with balloons, cake, cupcakes perhaps presents too.  For my design team card I had a super cute digital image from Mel-jens digis which no longer available. I still have quite a few cute images from my days as a designer for Clear it Out Tuesday.  Every thing I used was a scrap even the base I used was in the scrap folder.  I also broke out the balloon die set I've had for over a year and hasn't been used.

The birthday embossing folder I received free before I even had a die cutting machine. Isn't the little mouse cute? and so different from my usual "meece"

close up I hope you can see the simmer from the wink of stella.

Carrying the balloon theme to the inside I finished with a hero arts sentiment.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog and check out the rest of the Birthday cards.

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Three of a Kind

Slipping in with a few days to spare with a card for the Jingle Belles Rock challenge.  I had so many ideas and some were printed and coloured but life sometimes gets in the way of crafting.  I also had two birthday cards to make so I can get them mailed or delivered.  I saw the new sketch at Stella Says Sketch and thought it worked for my image and I used a bugaboo image as well.

Coloured the super cute penguins with alcohol markers, cut the image with long rectangles, layered on the scalloped long rectangles. They were a little too long for the image but they are very easy to shorten up.

Closse up of the image, wink of stella was added to the hats, scarves and mits.

Finished inside with a stampendous sentiment.

We are Getting Sentimental at Shopping Our Stash!!!

Challenge #337 at Shopping Our Stash is "Getting Sentimental" which translates to "make the sentiment the focal point". Easy Peasy or not? I took the easy way out and used a die-cut as my focal point, it's pretty well a good part of the front and I only embellished it with a glitter heart.

The card speaks for itself, this die can be used for Valentines day or as a get well card.

Close up of the glitter heart.

Finished the inside with a simple (and old) Valentine sentiment from Inkadinkadoo, I couldn't find a link to their business but you can find their stamps online in many other sites. I also added a die-cut day to the sentiment on the inside.

New Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ~~ T is for Technique!!!

At the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge 101 is T is for Technique!!! What technique have you not tried for a while? or maybe a new technique you haven't tried. Well we want to see them!!  There are a lot to choose from and I found the one I wanted to do on Stamp TV with Gina K.

My card was printed off from a page I found on Pinterest and saved, this of course was last year when I was looking for clocks for steampunk.  I printed it three times one for the base one for the clock face and one for the case which I embossed in gold,  I distressed all three layers of this project. The Happy Birthday die is "new" I've have it for a few months but it hadn't seen the die cut machine yet. I'm very happy how it works on a card.

As you see my technique is Cracked Glass and it works perfect for this image and I'm pleased with the cracking on it.

Finished inside with a Stampworks Sentiment, this will be for my son's birthday in March, hope it hasn't made it to that "safe place"

Out With the Old ~~ In With the New!!! at Shopping Our Stash!!!

Since Shopping Our Stash is a challenge blog that uses up what you have been hoarding we want you to use something super old from your stash and something not so old ~~ new even.  It could be something you bought and haven't used yet. I used some super old glitter paper I bought a long time ago from the $$ store, it has two pieces in each package and this package is my last and I opened it and used almost one sheet.

The deer ornament die is new, it's been on order for a while but just received it last week. The gliiter paper is old, the store doesn't even carry it anymore and hasn't for several years (I keep looking)

Close up of the die-cut. The inside isn't finished yet  as I'm looking for a "winter sentiment" to put in the inside, I might just have to print one off the computer. It's nice to have "winter wishes" cards  for after Christmas greetings.

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Look What Santa Brought Me (mine was a gift to me)

Thanks for visiting today, I'm still moving very slow and if it is on the floor I'm at a loss to get it but I will keep plugging along and Hubby has been very helpful (not with the crafting)  Even though he is not familiar with the kitchen he is doing a fine job of feeding us.  So let's see what Santa brought you!!! Time for the First Challenge of 2018 at the Jingle Belles!!!

Already I'm behind with the Jingle Belles Challenge, I thought I had really lost my mojo, I just couldn't get things together and I really want to make a card for  the challenge as it sounded so much fun!!! What did Santa bring you?  I must admit I had to buy my own crafty Santa  gifts although someone put some crafty things in my stocking. I used a new die from this year and (hanging head in shame) a Stampin'up set I just had to have last year and it's never been used with the exception of the bow on another project.  So here is my Santa gifts to myself.

Blue stardream cardstock is the back-drop for those super cute drop ornaments which I purchased this year, I framed them in a white stardream oval frame which I elevated with a fun foam oval.

Here is a close up of the greenery and bow that is from a thinlets set I bought last year and only the bow has seen the die cutting machine.

Finished the inside of the card with a simple sentiment.

Happy New Year, Welcome to the First Challenge of 2018 at Shopping Our Stash

It's January 2, 2018 and welcome to the first challenge of the new year!!! Challenge 335 at Shopping Our Stash it's Watercolour. I must admit due to a back spasm I haven't been able to sit long enough to do much crafting and watercolour is definitely not my forte'. I tried several ideas which none worked to my satisfaction and just when I was throwing in the "towel" I remembered some 2004 watercolour flower stamps from Hero Arts. I believe I have 5 stamps all can be used by colouring with markers, spritzing with water and stamping. Here is the tag I made with the "real paintbrush" stamp.

I used watercolour paper and framed the image with a scrap of plaid paper that was in the pile on the table, leftover from one of the last Christmas cards

I used distress markers for the flower and the blue wash background.

It was fun to dig out the 14 year old stamps and play with a technique I haven't done in eons, I might just pick one of the other stamps and try another project.

Thanks for visiting today and I'm sure you have a much more interesting watercolour technique than I came up with, so head over to the Main Blog and check out the rest of the design team inspiration pieces.
